Still no edit labels in n97

We hoped that Nokia will response to many posts asking to put in consideration (Editing Labels in Contact) as in N95 8GB and even in n86... why we cant enjoy this important feature in this marvelous flagship Nokia? I stopped using my Nokia N97 for this small reason and returned to my old N95 8GB; in n97, each time i want to a call a company under which i put many phones or mobiles.. now i dont know which # belongs to whom? i was obliged to put 6 or 7 different contacts for one company ....
But we still waiting ....

Not that I want to be negative but, given the HUGE list of issues on the N97 I would doubt that you will ever see this request coming to light.
I love my purple screen, 1/2 day battery, sketchy touch screen and $800 price tag - I call it my Lumia 900

    Missing your edit label? huh?
umm let me see here... you mean
Contacts > Options, Open > Options, Edit > then Add detail?
I know...  a lot of trouble just to edit contacts.
Now if you can't do what I just did and it's "missing" somehow then... "NOKIA RMA"
    ...IF...
That's not what they are saying... They want to edit the *LABEL*. You used to be able to do this on older phones like the N95.
Add detail just lets you pick from a list of *preset* labels.
For example I used to have three mobile numbers for my girlfriend. One was her personal mobile, so that was the label "Mobile", one was a work mobile so "Mobile (Work)" and the third was a mobile they used on a rota for on call, which I called "Mobile (On Call)".
On the N97 you *cannot* create that third label, it's not on the list and you can't edit!

  • Do N900 Contacts Have Edit Label ??

After I suffered a lot from N97 I sold it today with half of its price I lose 300U$    and I didn't able to utilize it even with the last update software still hanging which force you to format and loosing all your data such as notes, contacts, programs.. nokia care and free 800 where useless
I feel that I get red of it.. I feel sad from Nokia...
Dose N900 Contacts have edit label feature?? and all other Nokia Symbian features are they exist on the Maemo OS?
I need to decide to go to with Nokia or look for different Company ?

i do not have a N900 in my hands yet, but have 3 on order!
however, try this video by the Maemo team for the contacts and see if it gives you better knowledge so you can decide.
all the beta testors that i have conversed with say that the contacts is very good and even integrates skype seemlesly.

  • S60 5th edition/ Nokia 5800 & N97

With the Nokia 5800 being the first Nokia to have the s60 5th edition OS, and N97 soon to follow, who thinks that the 5800 is being used as a end-user testing device for the upcoming N97.
dont get me wrong, i its not a bad idea, but i just wonder if 5800 owners will get some of the features which has been shown on the N97 such as live widgets on the home screen for example which looks absolutely brilliant.
what do you guys out there think?

What the hell are you talking about??? N97 and 5800 are different??? N97 for rich-mans??? Hahahahha Just see this comparison, and you will notice, that N97 and 5800 is almost totally the same device:
    http://s60blog.com/2008/12/nokia-n97-vs-nokia-5800-xpressmusic/
N97 just more with the keyboard, and hopefully 5800 will get the widget-homescreen too, as both of them has the same operation system (s60v5), resolution and touchscreen...

I would add to that , once you have selected the contact and edit , you need to select options and add detail ! You can then add as many numbers as you wish . However be careful if adding company numbers as if you have several contacts working at the same company it will cause problems with caller id as the phone will not know who is calling if you have the same number attached to several contacts !

  • Files still being edited

How do I check if a file is still being edited by another program. I have the name of the file, I just need to know what classes exist to check if this file is now longer being used by another program.
    Thanks.

The fact that you can read a file don't tell you if the file is already in use or not.
There is no really java method telling us if a file is used by another application.
It's not as easy as expected. Personnally, i try to rename the file with another
name (just adding an extension or a couple of letters), and if succeeded, i rename it
back and work on this file.
This method seems to work with most editors programms, bu be carefull if you want
to use your program with notepad. This windows program doesn't lock the file.
This solution has only been tested on windows plate-forms. If anyone has a solution for
    any linux system, thanks

  • Benefit of diff nVidia cards f still image editing

    All,
I searched a lot for "GTX 260" and "nVidia" and found manydiscussions focused on video, but I am building an i7 machine to do still-image editing in CS4. The right GPU card purchase seems to be a GTX260 from some good manufacturer. However, I am writing to confirm that CS4 users are convinced they get a real benefit from the 260 or feel that they should be using a 285-level card.
I rejected the Quadro. I found a GTX260 from Gigabyte (who makes the mobo I will build with) is $220 w 890+GIG RAM . Good deal, it seems.
Are the drivers OK? Work OK for folks out there?
    jonathan7007

I am using an Nvidea 9600 GT OCX, Win 7 64 o intel DP55k mobo,
512 and seem to have a possible issue with artifacting in ACR 5.6.
You can see my post in camera raw postings, 157221.
I haave updated the driver to the newest version, and seem to ber
having less of an occurence of the problem. I have started using my
Lightroom 2.3 for raw processing, then I move the edit over to PS.
I did not have any issues with graphics until the 5.6 ACR was released,
so I suspect you wouldn't either. Good luck with your build. I did read
good things about the 285, and the price is good, though be sure the
mobo from gigabyte has the extra sacrificial slot as the card will
cover the adjacent pci-e. I have found, as I still image only, that the 512 is
more than adaquete for onboard open GL etc. I use Genuine Fractals 6,
and did a 500% blow up which took less than 2 seconds

  • Contacts Edit Label E7 N8 C7 S60^3

EDIT LABEL feature in the Contacts Management fields ... *** VERY IMPORTANT *** We need this main feature. Remarks: from development side enable this is very simple. The Contacts database structure are ready. Its amatter add it in the menu and pop-up edit field window with saving. Nokia should return this feature back, if they remove it for integration issue, they should rebuild the integration structure and put the new standered, not to go back, e.g) iphone add this feature under user define fields type!! Hope Nokia will put it back sooner...

    Hi,
Being Nokia loyal, I am really feeling constraint with E7 without edit label feature.
    Also, the number of touches have gone up, while dialing a number from directory;
    Looks like, life has become more difficult and painful to keep using E7; while the new toy/device/instrument is lovely;

  • Quadro or GeForce for still-photo editing?

    Hello!
I am an IT consultant who has one professional photographer as a client, and she needs a new workstation for still-photo editing using Photoshop CC. I asked her to ask her professional community about the best video card to use, and I got back "I need a video card with mercury graphics engine, over 1 gig. of ram (the more the better)." I have read about Quadro cards until my eyes bled, and I think they may not be the best suited for still-photo editing, at least from the perspective of performance vs. cost.
Her current workstation has a 1GB ATI FirePro V5800 card, 6GB memory, a three-drive RAID 5 array that is split into her C: and data partitions, and a single Xeon CPU. It is a pig.
    New computer build (so far):
    ASUS Z97-A LGA1150 motherboard
Windows 8.1 Pro (with Start8 start menu replacement)
    Intel Core i7-4790 CPU
    32GB memory
480GB SSD boot drive (current boot drive has 201GB used)
240GB SSD "active projects" drive (only $44 more than a 120GB SSD)
4TB SATA 7200RPM data drive for finished projects
Multiple 3TB drives for onsite and offsite backups
The only piece missing (?) is which video card to get. I deal almost exclusively with business workstations, not specialized markets like photography editing, so I bow to your knowledge in helping me decide between Quadro vs. GeForce vs. ???
    Thank you for your time!

I'm no expert, but I built a PC about a year ago and did a lot of research into this.  I found a lot of conflicting opinions on it, but most of the actual data I looked at suggested that I wasn't going to see a significant boost in performance, for still photography, by adding a GPU (over a good Intel chip).  The integrated graphics performed surprisingly well in the benchmarks versus all but the top of the line GPUs.  So I concluded that unless I was prepared to spend $500 on a GPU I'd stick with the integrated, and I could always upgrade later.  Never felt the need to upgrade.  Everyone uses Photoshop differently, and your client may have use for it.  But I think a lot of people buy the most expensive machine they can afford even when it's overkill.  I'd consider myself a moderately heavy PS user; I like to do big composites (60+ layers) and I do architectural work that sometimes has dozens of frames from a full frame camera.  I don't do video, nor use the niche filters like oil that were heavy on GPUs.  But I use a lot of layers, and am somewhat heavy with actions and batching.  YMMV.
But, a caveat:  I use CS6, which doesn't have many GPU accelerated features that I use.  It looks like that is changing with CC, and hopefully more so in the future.  So perhaps it would be prudent for you to put one in.  Truthfully I don't think there's much a difference between brands so long as they're on the compatibility list.
I also did a lot of research into RAM, because Windows 7 caps at 16 gb for the basic version.  At the end of the day I convinced myself that 16 would be sufficient, and I've kept an eye on my useage in photoshop and found that it has.  I don't do video work, but my projects are usually pretty large (2 gb+).  Everybody has different uses
Sorry to drone on:  But I also looked into the traditional 4 disc setup recommend for image processors.  I couldn't get a concrete answer on whether this setup still makes a significant performance increase when using SSDs.  I ended up just getting an SSD for programs, OS, and working files.  Then a huge slow HDD (5600 RPM) for storage.  Plus backups.  I since upgraded the hard drive and used my old one for scratch - really just to take the "wear and tear" off my main drive.

  • PSE10 still shows "edit in progress" even when file in CS6 is closed

I have used PSE for years and love the Organiser to store and navigate round my photos. I've considered Lightroom, but have stuck with PSE10.
I've got the trial of CS6 and am considering purchasing. I have a problem though. If I edit in CS6, do my adjustments, save the file then close it, it still shows up as edit in progress in my PSE10 photo well. This happens with whatever photos I edit in CS6. Very annoying as they are then locked. My only option is to close PSE10 where a warning comes up about changes being lost, re open it and all is well.
Why does PSE10 think the photos are still being editied in CS6 even though they have been saved and closed?
    Help appreciated

What I have tried is after closing the file in CS6, then opening the file in PSE editor and closing that trying to "trick" the organiser into thinking it has been closed, but no luck.
I have no problem with PSE organiser and PSE editor. As soon as I close the file in the editor it becomes live again in the organiser. This is just with editing in CS6 then closing the file.
After a heavy edit session I will have numerous "edit in progress" messages over my organiser with the only way of clearing to shut down and re open PSE.
    Annoying to say the least!
    Thanks for your thoughts

  • How to export a Form edited in LC Design to still be editable in Acrobat Pro

First off, I’m a new to Forms and how they work.
I created a PDF Form in Acrobat Pro from an existing Word Document. The Form was setup with some functionality like automatically assigning the current Date in a field for when the document is accessed.  It consists of 3 signature fields, and was setup to auto populates the signature dates when the person signing captures their name. Each signature block also has code to auto generates an email to be sent after signing. Everything works fine one the From.
My Problem is that I now need to add extra columns and text onto the Form. Unfortunately Acrobat Pro does not allow me to make the content changes required. So I imported a copy of the Form into LC Design and was able to make the required changes. But now none of the functionality seems to work. And when I save it and open the PDF in Acrobat, as soon as I try to Edit the Form it want to re-launce the LC Designer.
I either need to get the functionality to work through LC Designer, or have a way to make the form work again through Acrobat Pro.

    Hi George,
thank you for your suggestion. I was not aware of this option. I've tried it and it does seem to be the option with the least amount of work to keep the functionality of the form in tact. I only need to make minor ajustments to the Field locations now but the code and everything else seems to still be in place.
    thank you once again.

  • How to manually edit label

I used report9i wizard to create a tabular paper report using one of the default template. Later, I manually modified the SQL and included one more field in the select statement. I was able to edit the paper layout and replaced one of the fields with the new field that I added using the property inspector. However, I can't find any place to change the label for the new field. I can't use the report wizard for one I have modified the paper layout and for two the change in SQL messed up with the field selection for display in the wizard. Can anyone help? Thanks.

    Hi kiran,
Delete the request in  the data target--> Catch the request from the monitor> Goto PSA--> Search the base request -> u can see a (psa)icon click on it>it will take u to the records that are in PSA( already the records available there are in edit mode) so, we can edit them,-> choose which record u want to edit> then do edition..(Note:- As all the records available there in edit mode do not select all,it is not possible to edit all at a time... choose one after one..)
