Still no lyrics with iOS 5.1.1!!!

Latest update to iOS 5.1.1 and still cannot display lyrics in the music app for the iPad.
You can display lyrics on the iPod and you can display/edit lyrics in iTunes so it's not a matter of copyright or ability.
I've submitted NUMEROUS feedback forms that displaying the lyrics needs to be restored for the iPad but typical to Apple arrogance -- the consumer comes last.
I've had to use a laptop in order to display lyrics when I need them.
If the functionality wasn't already there in iOS 4 then I wouldn't be upset but to have Apple remove the functionality -- AND not give an explantion for doing so OR restore the functionality -- just proves that the consumer is an afterthought.
Purchasing an app to provide functionality that was already there is not fair to the consumers either.
If I had the opportunity to return the iPad I would but it was a gift and it was custom engraved so that option is not available to me.

I'm not asking for new functionality... I want EXISTING FUNCTIONALITY restored.
The simple fact that, apparently, iPhone/iPod users can display lyrics but iPad users cannot -- WITH THE SAME OPERATING SYSTEM -- is what is so frustrating.
It astounds me to listen to Apple Fanboys say, "... check the app store for..."
I don't care if another player in the app store is free and displays lyrics. It's about Apple taking the ability out of the end-users hands.
I'm going to bring up two earlier points AGAIN:
1. Purchasing an app to provide functionality that was already there is not fair to the consumers either.
2. If I had the opportunity to return the iPad I would but it was a gift and it was custom engraved so that option is not available to me.
I have convinced many of my customers to not purchase Apple products based on this very example of Apple's disregard for the end-users. A consumer can deal with this type of treatment but a business cannot.

I've updated the iOS to 8.1, done most of the suggested tips I've read on line and my phone will still not find my car's (or my plantronic headset). Bluetooth does work with my jawbone speaker, but that's it. I'm looking for any new suggestions. Thanks

Still tethering issues with iOS 6.1.4

I have an Iphone 5 and recently upgraded to iOS 6.1.4 and running latest itunes
I used to be able to tether my Android tablet (ASUS) to my Iphone when travelling on the train to work but now it is impossible.
I can connect my partner's Samsung phone to my Android but cannot use my Iphone to tether to the Android.
Cannot use bluetooth to tether either.
So Apple, given everyone is complaining about tethering with their Iphones what are you going to do about it????
You need to pick up your act otherwise we will go to Android phones and you will lose significant market share.
I used to love my Iphone and upgraded to the Iphone 5 but seriously considering ditching it now if there is no prompt response from Apple to fix this bug.

We are not apple here and you do not address apple. We are users just like you, after all this is a user forum. My guess is that what you are wishing to do is not provided for by the bluetooth profiles available for the phone. If you don't like the phone get a different one.... it is your choice

I'm not sure whether they've started to yet, but they will be - there may still be some with iOS 4 on them. If it's not re-installed then you can update to it for free.

Guillaume, I have spoken with AppleCare several times about this. None of the five tech people I've discussed this with had ever heard of the issue before and assumed it was a problem I was having with my device, but when I told them to google "iPad no lyrics" they did see the discussions on the topic. I also had to keep stressing with everyone I talked to that the lyrics were still present on iPods and iPhones with the same upgrade, but no iPads displayed them now.
The last person I spoke with (yesterday) connected me with a senior advisor named Matt who did some research. When he checked he saw that it had definitely been reported numerous times; the engineers are aware of the issue because there are escalated tickets concerning it, but there is no official response yet. He said that Apple typically doesn't take features away - it adds them - so it was probably an error which will be fixed in a subsequent upgrade.

You have to hook it up to a computer and update it to ios 5 and then there will be a "software update" button.

Was it purchased from an official Apple Store, not a reseller? Only Apple Stores sell official factory unlocked phones. The others sell hacked to unlock phones, and the unlocking is unstable.
Try these steps, as needed:
1. Reset phone - press both home and on/off buttons for at least 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
2. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
3. Replace SIM card (and reset network settings again)
4. Restore Phone in iTunes using a backup
5. Restore in iTunes as new, without using a backup

If you can find an iPhone running iOS5 and those are the specs for iOS5, there is no reason it should not work.
If you want a more current version of iOS or a more current device, a Windows computer is always an option at significantly less cost.
Granted, there is no requirement to have a computer to use an iPhone.

Previously, the app featured large icons for playlist, artists, songs etc. atbottom of page: Now there are small, grey, indistinct barely legible buttons.
Previously, when playlist icon was selected - all the playlists were listedclearly in order on the left hand side in black on white (as in iTunes).
Now they are scattered across the whole page in large squares (displayingnothing if there is no album art).
The identifying wording below eachsquare is now small, grey, indistinct & barely legible.

I've tried turning off and turning back in sync music, tried manually installing music. Re-installing the ios, resetting the network prefs etc. Some others had this problem when ios8 first came out. I tried all the 'tricks' they tried..... but there's worked whereas mine didn't.

No, restoring the phone will install the latest iOS version.
If you go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings, the phone will revert to its fresh out of the box state, but iOS will not be reloaded - you'll still have iOS 6. See if the problem is fixed, and if it is, load your data back manually.
