Still no retina support?

My Adobe Reader is latest (11.0.02), still no retina support. When it will be supported?

I'm having the same problem. My Acrobat interface is extremely blurry and my files are just as bad. I'm still trying to find the fix for this. Are we still waiting on the update? I'm running 11.0.02 as well, which is the latest as of today.

  • Still no full retina support, even with the new CC Apps?

    Hello over there!
I just bought the full CC abo, after trying PS and Indesign and becoming a fan of the new workflow, that is possible with the upcoming new CC Apps (Muse, Edge Tools...).
Now, after getting things right and downloading the needed Apps to my Macbook Pro (15" Retina) - I was very disappointed. The updated CC version of Dreamweaver and even some of the completely new Apps still have blurry text fields and buttons/layout graphics in it. Acrobat Pro XI is still a laggy, blurry fail on retina. The Mac OS Preview is sharp and scrolls a 600 pages PDF in seconds.
I mean... Srsly? This would be okay if the retina MBP came out last month. But it came last year. I'm really a big fan of the Adobe workflow and functionality, this is why I upgraded and decided to spend some hundreds of dollars for it ( and become friends with the new and scary rent model ). But the best program is a pain, when your eyes start being overly stressed after 20 minutes of work, especially when you're already looking at hundres of code lines (And I'm 21 years old, so I'm glad to still have those good working eyes..). I remember when I fell totally in love with Dreamweaver because it was able to handle the amount of information in a good stucturized and clearly visible way. But the only really sharp and "look like it fits all together"-Apps are PS, AI and ID as far as I tried for now.
Definitely affected are: DW, Muse, Edge Animate and Reflow (What? They are new!?)
So, thats my question: Are there any official statements that this will be fixed? Im confused because Adobe is just partying about the retina-compatibility updates last fall/winter in blogs and descriptions. The blurry App elements are not mentioned. I really want to know this, to be able to take back my contract and abo in time and get a refund. Would be sad, but the only option to me.
Thanks very much for reading and helping in advance. I really do not want to troll or sound agressive. The Adobe Suite is a very very big product and it does very good. But I'm simply disappointed about the handling of retina support, which is essential for users like me.
English is not my main language, I hope everything was clear.
    Best regards,
    D. Fuchs

    Hi David,
thank you for your effort. If I remember correctly you said you’ll also hand through this issue/question to the tech guys. Does this mean I’ll get further information? Because this article you found is about 10 month old and I’d like to get this issue verified.
Furthermore, Acrobat (XI) is not even mentioned in that article and this is what brings the most problems.
I really don’t like to be a stressing customer, but I think a official answer to this issue is definitely possible und should be made.
I’ll attach a few hardcopy pictures of the issue. Don’t know if it helps, but it proofs.
    Thanks again and best regards,
    D. Fuchs

    Hi D.
    I found this http://blogs.adobe.com/creativelayer/new-macbook-pro-retina-display-su pport/
I believe has been added to Photoshop, Illustrator and Lightroom so far. Hopefully it will be added to Dreamweaver soon too.

  • Photoshop Elements 11 - Retina Support?

    Hello,
I would like to ask whether Photoshop Elements 11 does (or will soon) support Macbook Retina Display? I know that Photoshop CS 6 was updated, however Photoshop Elements 11 on my Macbook Pro Retina still looks very bad...

    Hi,
Just thought this might help - here's a matrix that lists out Photoshop Elements and Operating System versions: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4527508.
Will update this thread if there's any information on Retina-support.
    Cheers,

  • Can I still get the support of the first gen iPhone if I buy Applecare?

Can I still get the support of the first generation iPhone if I buy Applecare? If I can't then can it be replaced by Apple?

Sorry, but you cannot buy AppleCare after the original one year warranty on your iPhone expired. If your  phone is damaged you can purchase an exchange for a refurbished one.
If your iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad is Broken
Apple does not fix iDevices. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending upon the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model.
ATTN: Beginning July 2013 Apple Stores are now equipped to do screen repairs/replacements in-house on iPhone 5s. In some cases while you wait. According to Apple this is the beginning of equipping Apple Stores with the resources needed to do most repairs for iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches that would not require major replacements. Later in the year the services may be extended as Apple Stores become equipped and staffed with the proper repair expertise. So, if you need a screen repaired or a broken screen replaced or have your stuck Home button fixed, call your local Apple Store to see if they are now doing these in-house.
You may take your device to an Apple retailer for help or you may call Customer Service and arrange to send your device to Apple:

  • Retina support for any CS5 programs?

I recently purchased a Macbook Pro with Retina display, and decided to install my copy of CS5.5 Design Standard. I have noticed that the UI has been scaled up to work with the retina screen so everything is fuzzy and pixelated. I am a student and use Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Is there any available updates to optimize these programs to work on the retina screen? I cannot purchase the Photoshop CS6 because of funding issues (if you know what i mean), even with the student discount. Is there anything that will improve the perfromance with the retina display?

The only information I have to share on retina support is from August here http://blogs.adobe.com/creativelayer/new-macbook-pro-retina-display-support/.

  • Retina support for Illustrator and Photoshop

It's been announced in June, but in December the products have not been updated yet. They're not unusable so far, but working everyday with products that look crippled (and paying monthly for them) is kind of annoying.
I know that it must take a lot of work, but is there any update on the release date that is not "when is done" or "read the months old announcements where they say 'when it's done'"?
Also, is any update including retina planned for After Effect and Premiere?
    Thanks

  • The state of retina support - want a clear and concise answer

    Adobe,
I realize that digital publishing is probably a very complex and difficult business, and that you're all very busy to get things working properly, and easily, with the amazing Adobe tools we're all used to. However, I have noticed from the start that you're having a bit of an issue communicating with your customers. We're all paying customers - who rely, at least partly, on the DPS to make a living. The help documentation has always been, in my opinion, lacking, but you're getting there. Getting up and running isn't too much of a problem now (except when trying to do more advanced things, like implementing Newsstand - documentation on that is a bit sparse). However, it seems like there's no help documentation or communication at all on the state of retina support.
I realize that somewhere here, buried in one of these threads, is probably an Adobe employee response that has some useful information. However, I don't want to - and shouldn't have to - scour the forums for this information. The only information I seem to be able to find about it is in the "version 19 release thread". Something about:
    "iOS rendition support
The new HD iPad model was recently announced. When you use Viewer Builder to create a new app, you can specify icons and splash screens for alternate sizes. Renditions are enabled for iPad devices, letting you create folio renditions at an alternate size. Each iOS model downloads folios that best match the display of the tablet. Adobe will provide an update to the tools and Viewer Builder as necessary to support new devices. We’ll provide more guidelines once we’re able to test the new iPad model. See Create folio renditions."
Am I to assume this means retina support is up and running? That's what it seems to say, to me. But from what I can tell we can build retina renditions of our issues, but can't build a viewer that actually support them? Anyway, the thread is full of people trying to build retina apps and failing.
The new iPad has been out for a while now, and really, we should have all received an e-mail on the day it was announced (or at least, released), letting us know exactly where we stand. When retina support is coming, what we need to prepare, how to build retina apps, how the workflow is going to work, etc.
At the very least I am now requesting an Adobe employee to please make a sticky thread that is maintened and updated with the latest information, regarding retina support and workflow. Please make a clear overview of what we need to support retina in our apps, which tools we need, what updates we need to apply, what kind of workflow we should use to support retina and non-retina iPads. I may be alone in this, I may not be, but I feel like this is much needed, and I feel like at least this much can be expected of you.
I'm sorry if I'm coming across as rude or overly critical, I don't mean to be. I very much think Adobe is a great company, and I love your software suites. However, I'd prefer not to have to spent hours looking for the information I need buried in forum posts. Having a clear and concise overview of how retina is going to work would save me a lot of time and effort, make the whole experience more pleasant and would allow me to communicate with my customers on what to expect.
    With regards,
    Salomon Meij.

Looks like I need to use the phrase "retina support" in the documentation. Here are some articles about using DPS to target the iPad 3:

Hello, I have MacBook Pro with Retina display. How can I get retina support to my Adobe Acrobat pro? It is version 10.1.13 and it says it is up to date.

Problem is that my pdf files look terrible although I have MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014). I have Adobe Creative Suite Design  Standard version 6.0 (Mac). I have installed every possible update. I think problem is that for some reason my CS doesn´t support retina display? If I view a pdf file in iMessage, it looks fantastic. But if I open the same document in Adode Acrobat Pro, it looks awful. What can I do?
Thank you so much for your help.

  • STILL no ExpressCard support in 3.1

Yep - Unless I have missed something - there is STILL no ExpressCard support in release 3.1. Begs the question - what has been done to it since 3.0?

Yes, if by compatible firmware you mean kludging their way around Apple's problematic implementation.
Boot Camp users are such a niche group that there's no realistic chance many companies are going to jump through hoops to fix something they shouldn't need to be fixing at all. If some still do, more power to them.
At the moment I'm aware of exactly zero Firewire ExpressCards that work in Windows 7 on Boot Camp. If someone knows one, please do tell me, because I'd love to get one next to the two cards here that are by completely different manufacturers that just both happen to give the same Code 12 error for me.

  • Retina support for InDesign and Muse

Can we have any update about when is scheduled the release of InDesign HiDPI UI and Muse?
    Thank you
    Francesco

    Hi Francesco,
For InDesign, I looked in the feature requests section and it didn't appear anyone had requested Retina display support be added. I did see another thread discussing it here:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4683006#4683006
If you wanted to create a feature request for it, this would be the place to request it
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/indesign/indesign_feature_requests
For retina support in Muse you might want to chime in on this thread. The Muse product manager was discussing some of the pros/cons that go along with implementing retina support.

  • Story Retina support desperately needed!!!

Anyone who has a retina mac will tell you the same thing. Retina support is desperately needed! The font is fuzzy and out of focas, reading any longer then 30 mins gives a headache. Story is a program designed for text and when that text is unreadable for long periods of time.... its a problem. Please please update soon.

Sorry it took us long to get to this.
Story does run well on macs with retina display. We haven't yet got to higher resolution icons, but text - the most important part of script - does render well and looks crisp. What's configuration on your machine ? OS, Browser, Flash plugin (make sure you're on latest one)
    thanks

  • Does macbook pro 2012 non retina support 16gb?

Does the macbook pro (mid June 2012, non retina) support ram of 16gb?
Will it be capable of it or would it slow the computer down.
Even though the website of apple says that its maximum capacity is 8gb,
what happens if I install 16gb into it?

You are welcome. The models have been tested by outside RAM vendors to operate with 16gB. There may have been an update since that eating, but doubtful.
You can check at http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Apple_MacBook_MacBook_Pro/Upgrade to see if they recommend more RAM.

  • Retina Support?

Ok, someone really has to explain to me how this makes sense.
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4789088
The statements made in that thread say Retina support was only released to Cloud.  But today:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5448
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5524
Photoshop and Illustrator teams release retina to perpetual and Cloud licenses?  How is it that those teams consider it to be an update for all while some consider it to be an update for Cloud only?  Neither Illustrator, PS or DW had retina support when released, so I'm a bit confused about what is and what is not a Cloud update anymore.  Can anyone explain the differences?  Is it up to the product teams to determine what they want to distribute to all licenses and what they only want to distribute in the Cloud?
I admit I am a CS6 non-Cloud user at the moment because of features that were unavailable at release and there is no cross-path from a paid CS6 license to a Cloud license so it wouldn't make sense to switch at this point until at least CS7, but I think people debating about which version to buy should know where Adobe is going to draw the line.

There are two classes of updates: security/bug fixes/product support updates and feature-only updates.
A perpetual license (using a serial number) customer will receive security/bug fixes/product support updates. The Retina support falls under this category.
A Creative Cloud paid subscriber will receive security/bug fixes/product support updates and feature-only updates.
Both types of updates happened today.
