Still possible to share folio with an iPad to view, without publishing?

Hi,
Is it still possible to share a folio from the folio builder panel in InDesign, so that it can be downloaded to one device (iPad) for viewing/testing or is this info out of date? Do I really have to go through all the IOS developer certs and purchasing one single serial number hoopla just to view on a single iPad?
Any info gratefully appreciated.
Thanks.

What would lead you to believe that this has changed?

  • Is it possible to share aps between my iPad and iPhone, I have tried several methods yet I still get charged if I download an app I already have on my iPad.  many thanks, Alex

Is it possible to share apps from my iPad onto my new iPhone 4. I have tried several suggestions from the net but still get charged when I download an app to my phone that is already on my iPad.  Many thanks,  alex

    Greetings Alex,
You should be able to download the exact same app from the iTunes store to a different device at no extra cost.  Its possible you might be downloading an iPad only version of an app you happen to have on your iPhone although I'm not familiar with an example of this.
    If you are being charged:
    1. Make sure you are using the same iTunes Store account (AppleID) on both devices.  Your purchases are tied to the AppleID so if you don't use the same one to download the app that you used to buy it the first time,  you'll be charged.
On the device you originally bought the app in question:  Go to Settings > Store -- note the AppleID here
On the device you re-downloaded and were charged on:   Go to Settings > Store -- note the AppleID here
If these AppleIDs are different then you have your answer.  You are making purchases with two different accounts so logically you've been charged twice.  Decide which AppleID you wish to use from now on and on the device which does not currently have that ID and tap on it in the Store section of the settings and login with the other AppleID.
If these AppleIDs are the same then something is going wrong in the process.  Contact iTunes Store support email to have them take a peek: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/
    Hope that helps.

  • Is it possible to share networks with another mac (MacBook)?

Is it possible to share networks with another mac (MacBook)?
I want to be able to create a document on my computer and save it on both my MacBook Pro and another MacBook. Also, I want to be able to open documents saved only on the MacBook on my MacBook Pro. Is that possible on the same wirelss?
    Thank you!

You would not want to use ad hoc networking if you also need to access the internet. I'm not even sure it is possible.
How are you accessing the internet from these Macs now? If you have a wifi (or wired) network that you both access in your work location, you should be able to use File Sharing across that network, so you shouldn't need the ad hoc network.
    Some general observations:
You'll need a plan for how to keep straight which Mac holds the most current version of a file. That should probably be to keep each file in only one place (your Mac, the other Mac, a local file server, a cloud server). Even in our home, with one person doing most of the file accessing, I find a central location works best for this; in my case, that's a desktop system that stays on all the time, but a disk attached to my AirPort Extreme base station, a Time Capsule, or a NAS would serve.
If you make use of the portability of the MacBook[Pro]s to work in different locations, you'll also need a plan that includes that working away from the main work location. If you often work with common files while away from your main work location, a cloud solution may be best even with just two of you. Depending on the size of your files, one of the free cloud solutions may suffice; most offer paid expansion as your needs grow.

  • My client with autism needs to be able to speak/sing into a microphone and simultaneously hear his voice through a headset, preferably with reverb set on high.  Is it possible to do this with the iPad and OS7?  If so, what setup do I need?

My client with autism needs to be able to speak/sing into a microphone and simultaneously hear his voice through a headset, preferably with reverb set on high.  Is it possible to do this with the iPad and OS7?  If so, what setup do I need?  I have a SM58 type mic and-over-the ear headphones.

This implies that ODP.NET does NOT need to be installed on a client. However, I cannot find OraOPs9.dll on a machine with Client Release 9.2 installed. Should OraOps?.dll automatically come with a Client installation of 9.2 or higher?
ODP.NET needs to be installed on the client. OraOps9.dll is part of ODP.NET, not the Oracle Client.
Also, if an application is built with the 10g ODP.NET, can it be run from a machine with OraOps9.dll?
If an application is built with 10g ODP.NET, it can be run with 9.2 ODP.NET as long as you do not use any 10g APIs. The new features in 10g ODP.NET are included in the doc and the ODP.NET FAQ for your reference.

  • Since I use Mac os x mountain lion it is no more possible to share files with my pc windows 7. Does somebody know how to solve this problem?

Since I use Mac os x mountain lion it is no more possible to share files with my pc windows 7. Does somebody know how to solve this problem? I have been answered by an Apple technician that with the new Mountain Lion the problem was with Windows. I am not convinced.

I have renamed my pc and everything is ok with the file sharing SMB. Both my iMac and my pc can share files very easily.

  • Is it possible to share "ownership" of an iPad?

My friend's mother wants an iPad but her PC died.  She has broadband and a router.  Both her daughters have notebook PCs but do not live nearby.  If one daughter sets up the mother's iPad and router using her notebook, then leaves town, will the iPad and router still work?  Also, could the other daughter take "control" of the iPad and do backups and updates from her notebook PC which is a different PC than the one used to do the initial setup when she is in town?  Or does the original daughter/PC have to do everything for the mother's iPad?
If there was a problem with the iPad and neither daughter was in town, could the Apple Store or a Geek from Best Buy solve it?

Provided the new iPad has iOS 5 or later as its operating system (as it should have) then it can be activated without the need of a computer and backed up via iCloud. All this means that the scenario you describe involving the two daughters is no longer relevant!
Free 90 day Apple technical support is part of the purchase bundle and further support can be had purchased from Apple
A word of caution here; there are rumours of a new iPad to be announced this week so make no rash decisions just yet!

  • How share reminders with Iphone, Ipad

Please, I need help, I cant share reminders with other people.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You aren't supposed to, other people don't want your reminders, if they do then you are using reminders instead of calendar, which can share calendars.

  • How to share photos with multiple iPads

I am looking to share my photos with other family members who have iPads. How can I "publish" photos that will sync to multiple devices over WiFi?  In other words, I want to push photos of my children to their grandparents (as simple as possible for the grandparents)

Wifi will only work if they are al on the same wireless network.  An easier solution might be dropbox.  You can post your pictures there, share the link with anyone who you want to see the pictures, and they can bring them onto their machines.  This will work with family members who do not have pads, on any device that can acccess the web.
I believe you can set up an account for free.

  • Share folio with someone in China

    Hello,
I've made a folio in Belgium, which I am now trying to share with some one in China, via the Adobe Content Viewer.
When they log in in the Content Viewer, they get no download invitation, nothing at all.
I've allready tried loggin in at my end (on 2 different iPads), with his (chinese) log-in and password, and it works fine then. I do get the invitation right away.
Has any of you heard of Chinese blocking (censorship) of the Content viewer, like with Facebook or twitter?
Is there a work-around, or  is there something else that can go wrong?
    Kind regards
    Vanessa

We had the same problem and asked to Adobe. See Adobe's answer below:
The delivery of folio files into China requires that the DPS Apps be compiled differently to allow for folio files to be delivered from a CDN service provided by a company called ChinaCache instead of Akamai who handles our file delivery rest of world. We believe that Adobe's use of ChinaCache coupled with the restrictions I detailed below will allow Adobe to successfully serve content into mainland China.  The restrictions that I am about to outline are intended to keep the service running and available adhering to Chinese law and to reflect the significantly higher cost to Adobe that ChinaCache incurs compared to Akamai.  The restrictions for DPS delivery into China are:
Any company delivering into China needs to both sign a DPS agreement and the addendum (attached) which details these restrictions
We limit file sizes delivered into China at 250MB.  This restriction is directly related to cost via ChinaCache
For every publication delivered into China (aka Vogue, Allure, Cosmo etc.), the customer must present to Adobe a General Administration of Press and Publication ("GAPP").  (GAPP licenses are not provided to foreign owned corporations.  They are only provided to joint ventures or Chinese entities.)  Beyond detailing this restriction, Adobe should not be in any way providing legal guidance to customers.
Agree that Adobe is not liable or responsible for interruptions/delays in service etc.

  • I want to stream itunes movies I've bought on my ipad air to my lg smart tv.  From the 'Home' screen of the lg, there is no itunes app shown that would somehow let me share info with my ipad air.  Has anyone the answer.  Am I missing something here?

I have an lg smart TV.  I also just bought an apple ipad air,Wi-Fi Cellular 16GM I've signed up the air to itunes and just purchased a movie on the ipad air.  I was able to stream the movie on my air and my pc, which is of course wirelessly connected to my smart TV.  I've searched the 'Home' screen of the lg to find a way to also stream that movie on the lg.  Am I somehow just not reading right and missing the point, or is what I'm trying to do not possible?

I have raised this issue with apple support this week too after my Facetime and iMessage stopped working on Saturday.
Been very interesting to read the ever increasing number of comments and issues being raised on this one (more than 500 views and dozens of replies so far).
    My post is here:
imessage and Facetime sign in activation error iPad ios8.1.2
What is especially interesting about your post is that you had your iPad Air replaced in November 2014 in the UK. I bought my iPad Air originally in October 2014, and had to have it replaced in an Apple Store in Bristol in November after the original stopped charging. This does make me wonder if there is a batch of faulty iPads? Mmm...
I have raised a fully escalated support case with Apple on this, and their latest response is that a 'patch' or fix is being investigated by their engineers and to wait a week or so at which point they might be releasing it to affected users - or even across every users.
I wish there was a way to get this to Apple's attention and the wider media as well, but I don't know how best to do that.
I guess the best thing we can do is keep hassling Apple for a response and raising support cases

  • HT4059 Can I share books with other iPad or iPhone  users?

Can I share books in my iBooks library with other iPhone or iPad users? If so how?

ibooks (and other content from iTunes) are tied to your account, and there is not currently a way to lend or transfer content to another account - so unless they have access to your account then no, you can't share.
