Still Receive Multiple E-Mail Notifications of New Posts When Subscribed

In days past, a user would only receive one e-mail notification of new posts to a thread to which he/she was subscribed. You would have to visit said thread before you would receive new e-mails. Sometime during the last big change in the structure of the forums, this way of e-mailing notifications changed. Now I am bombarded with a new notification each time a new post is made to a subscribed thread. I may have ten or more new e-mails just notifying me of new posts to a single thread before I even get a chance to make a return visit. The old way was much, much neater. Any chance of a return to that?

I experience it even worse.
I receive Notifications and Digests for threads that weren't changed.
I mean to say that
-I post an answer to some topic.
-Automattically I am subscribed to that Thread (that's OK, I asked for that in my settings)
-I receive lot's of Notifications and Digest ALTHOUGH NOBODY ADDED A NEW POST TO THE THREAD. It seems as if the Notification also reacts any time anybody is READING the thread.
It seems obvious to me that I only want to receive Notifications (and Digests) of Threads that are altered in some way since the last time I read the thread OR received a Notification or Digest.
That is:
- new post added to the thread
- a post has been altered by one of the posters
- a Solved or Helpfull mark is given.
Hope Apple can fix this.

I believe this is a change from the old forums. Used to be I would get only one e-mail notification of new posts in a topic to which I was subscribed and would get no more until I revisited the topic (in a logged in state). Now I get an e-mail each time a new post is made even if I haven't visited the topic. This tends to fill up my mailbox when I'm subscribed to a busy topic. Was this a deliberate change for a particular reason?

I've tried this on multiple products so I believe its specific to iTunes not a particular device.

Same thing here- Get the email but nothing but the Inside featurette. It's really annoying. In fact I can't even download it normally using the check for available downloads feature! Every time I do that iTunes tries to download doubles of three Walking Dead episodes I've already downloaded. I don't want what I already have, I just want the new episode.

E-sourcing couldn't send out E-mail notification of new user.

Dear experts,
I got stuck on SMTP issue when configuring a E-sourcing sandbox, when I created some Buy-side users, the system was not able to send out the notifications but all stuck in "Queued Messages" .
I browsed in the system, the settings related with the SMTP function including below items:
1: "Source Email" in Company Properties, this email address is going to be indicated as the sender of a new user notification;
2: "Messaging" configuration in System Properties:
( messaging messaging.smtp.mailhost
messaging messaging.smtp.password
messaging messaging.smtp.username )
I have set up above fields as the same as a working E-sourcing application, but my sandbox still doesn't work for me, the new user created can't receive the notification to become a valid user of the system, so they will not be able to logon to the system without password information.
Would you please advice me what should I do, any of your response in highly appreciated!

Please verify a couple of things:
1. Is the functional e-sourcing box is running on the same version of Sandbox version (which you are configuring)
2. Verify that "New User" notification template is set to active in the email templates setting through setup
3. If no issues with 1 and 2 then would suggest to clear mail queue from backend and try generating a new email

Is it possible to check multiple e-mail accounts using the new Mail application?
I am wondering if I could use it for both a business e-mail account and a personal e-mail account or if I would have to pick only one to use.

Well, I plan on waiting until the SDK is released before buying any software.
Since it appears that the system updates included in the App Pack will be required to use any software released thereafter I am fairly confident that at least that part of the App Pack will eventually be free.

Receiving multiple e-mails from another .Mac account

I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this, but my fiance and I usually e-mail each-other back and forth throughout the course of the day. I, via my .Mac account on my iPhone and her, through the .Mac webmail.
The last few days, however, I've been receiving duplicate e-mail from her on my iPhone. It started out a few days ago with just one or maybe two duplicated in my inbox, but today I just received SEVEN copies of the same e-mail. She, on the other hand, is not experiencing the duplicate e-mail which leads me to believe that this is an iPhone related issue.
If its of importance, we're on a "Family Pack" .Mac account and it doesn't seem to make a difference if I'm connected via WIFI or simply EDGE.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Can you send e-mail from the same account on your computer?
When you try to send e-mail from iphone to you get an error message?
What is the message?
Do you have a connection to the internet (edge, 3g, wi-fi)?

Send Custom Mail Notifications to Author/Creator when workflow ends

Hello All,
I am working on workflows and I want to send a mail notification to the "Author/Creator" when the workflow finishes.
Currently, UCM workflows do not provide this functionality Out-Of-The-Box.
For this I implemented a filter and hooked it to the event +"advanceDocumentStateMarkWorkflowFinished"+ event.
Now I am able to send mail using the following code:
InternetFunctions.sendMailTo(email, "DynamicPrefixTemplate","Workflow Notifications", cxt);
However, I am not able to retrieve the author name to whom I have to send the notification. I found that "databinder" object (passed as param) in method signature below doesn't contain the author name attribute.
public int doFilter(Workspace ws, DataBinder binder, ExecutionContext cxt)
I can see other attributes such as dId, dName etc. but not the "dAuthor". Can someone please suggest how can I retrieve the author name for the document for which workflow has just finished and notify the author..
I know there are services like getDocumentByName, but I do not know can I call these services from my filter code in Java. Please guide me.

Hi,
If what you need is to send a notification to the original author, you do not need to write custom code, you can follow these steps:
1) on the first step, assign the dDocAuthor to a workflow variable. As an example, on the Entry event if the first step add this code:
<$wfSet("originalAuthor",dDocAuthor)$>
Note that you need the previous step only if you allow revisions during your workflow. If you don't, then dDocAuthor would not change and you can skip that step
2) on the last step, send a notification using the variable we saved on the first step as the addresee. As an example, on the on Exit event add this code:
<$wfNotify(originalAuthor,"user")$>
(if you do not allow revisions, substitute originalAuthor by dDocAuthor)
Another thing, a lot of people run into the need to override the standard email templates when they start sending custom notifications. The workflow administration guide has a very nice and detailed section that explains how to do this. Also, the idocscript reference guide is always a good point to check the correct syntax for idocscript functions. There is a section of workflow related functions/variables in that guide that always comes in handy.

Battery draining quickly, not receiving messages/e-mails/notifications properly..?

I charged my phone yesterday morning at home in an area where I supposedly have 5 bars of service. Then I took a train down to Baltimore, and the battery and phone seemed to be working fine. When I got to my apartment, the phone started draining very rapidly, and all I had done was send a few text messages. I plugged it in to charge again, and at some point in the night I received 4 text messages at once, then no further activity. When the phone was charged, I unplugged it and went to sleep. This morning I was woken up by it dying again, and I obviously didn't use it while I was sleeping (received an onslaught of e-mails and Facebook messages on it as well, all at once again). Does anyone know what's wrong with this phone and how I can fix it? I'm in yet another great service area, smack dab in the middle of a city, so that can't be it.

I apologize that the Bold is not working properly. Is this still an issue for you? When did you purchase the Bold? I recommend backing up your personal data through Blackberry Protect or Desktop Manager, and perform a master reset (http://bit.ly/v0BRZv) to restore the battery life and notifications. Simple mail notification on new user create

Hi,
I am new to oim 11g. We are doing a small POC where we need to send mail to system admin on new user create. We just want to test notification functionality in OIM 11g.
Please let me know how to proceed, without any coding, if we want to send mail on new user creation.

BB 8330 Don't get e-mail notifications for new g-mail account.

On my BB8330 I can get notifications for my Yahoo e-mails, but not my new G-mail. It must be something simple, but I can't figure it out. Can anyone help? Thank you, bdja

E-Mail Notification for new versions of Flash Player?

I work in a internal IT department with just under 500 PCs. I dot not have my user base setup with admin rights. So when a new version of Adobe Flash Player comes out, I have to have it tested. Then push it to a beta group and then deploy to the rest of the company. My question is that I would like to receive a notice via email that there is a new version out there that I should get started on my testing. Right now, my user base quite often find out before me or as soon as I do.
Any Ideas?

I currently use a free web service called FollowThatPage.com which sends me an email anytime a webpage changes.
You could setup a watch pointed at the flash player versions page: Archived Flash Player versions
And you'll get an email anytime the page is updated. There are advanced options for filtering out changes only to the content you care about.
