Still signed in to Messages & FaceTime after sign out & reboot

Hi,
It seems I can't sign out of Messages or FaceTime.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Messages app preferences and sign out of iMessage account.
2. Open FaceTime app preferences and sign out of the Apple ID account.
3. Reboot the computer.
At this stage, when I re-open either the Messages or FaceTime app and look at the preferences, my Apple ID is signed in again.
How can I sign out of Messages and FaceTime for good?
This is part of a larger problem: I'm experiencing issues with Messages syncing on OS X Yosemite. It was working fine for a while, then stopped.
Everything's still working fine on my iPhone, it's the syncing to OS X that's broken.
I've been searching for solutions to this for a while. I am able to link OS X to my iPhone successfully in Safe Mode as well as signed in to a different account on the same machine. (See Mac Pro - Yosemite - iMessage won't connect.)
In all my testing I noticed something strange with my credentials in the FaceTime & Messages apps: when I sign out of either of them, then reboot, I'm signed in again.
Other observations:
Launching the Messages app always takes 5~6 seconds, and the beachball appears for about 1~2 seconds at the end.
If I sign out of the iMessage account, quit the Messages app, then re-launch it (without rebooting the computer) and attempt to sign in, it never finishes. The spinner on the sign in dialog spins for eternity. I will eventually kill the app, and after re-launching it, I'm signed in again.

Hi,
In FaceTime > Preferences set it to Off Line.
In Messages > Preferences > Accounts > iMessages accounts untick the Enable this Account box (this will log it out)
Use the Sign Out button if you want something more permanent.  When you go back to look at this it will still list your Apple ID  but will not be logged in (the
Password is not there)
From what you say  it might pay to delete two .plists
In the Finder (any window open) use the Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key.
Select the Library at appears in the menu list
Navigate to Preferences
Find com.apple.imagent.plist and drag it to the Trash.
Do the same for com.apple.ids.service.com.apple.madrid.plist
The first is the app that helps the accounts in both FaceTime and Messages to login.
The second holds the iMessages accounts info.

I  am getting so mad because I cant even sign out OR quit! They are both grayed out. I have the spinning blue wheel in my apps and am trying to fix that but none of the solutions are working.

Hi I had a similar issue to you, I could connect to the router but no internet. Here is my explanation of how I sorted it.....I hope this works for you.
*To anyone that is reading this it appears that the problem lay in the airport setting: IPV6: set to 'Automatically'. I turned it off (after reading someones plight on MacFixIt) & everything is back to normal.*
*The worrying thing is although my problem was extreme with other computers on the network being locked out nothing was changed, one minute it worked the next it didn't. Reading on other forums it appears to be a problem with laptops (but I could be mistaken). A lot of people on the Macfixit forum are complaining of network just dropping out even when they are next to the router.*
*I hope this is the fix (although I dont know why it suddenly went to sh*t!) & I hope my hair pulling & trawling the forums can help someone else out.*
    Much Respect

  • Can't sign into iMessage or FaceTime after updating to iOS 8.3

I recently purchased a brand-new iPad Mini 3 (actually just a week ago), and decided to update to the newest iOS since I hadn't done so yet with my iPhone. Thank God, I didn't. The update messed something up, and now I am unable to successfully log into my iMessage/FaceTime apps. I've tried reseting the network settings, rebooting the iPad, making sure location and automatic date & time settings were on, and logging in and out of my iTunes account, but nothing has worked for me so far. The farthest I've gotten is the step which asks how I would like to receive my messages/FaceTime requests (through phone number, iCloud address, etc.), but after hitting 'next', I am redirected back to the sign in page.
I can, however, successfully log into my iTunes account (which uses the same iCloud login), so I'm positive that I'm typing my information correctly. There also isn't a problem with my wi-fi--I swear.
What's worse, is that when I went onto my MacBook Pro, I noticed that my iMessages weren't sending at all, either. I logged out of iMessage, hoping to simply log back in again, but now it's giving me the old "Could not sign in to iMessage. An error occurred during activation. Try again."
The only thing I've updated is the iPad, so I don't understand why my MacBook is being affected, too. My iPhone, however, is working perfectly fine.
I'm sure I'm not the only one having this issue, right?

    Hi ,
    Just a few pointers:
"Element caching should not be used at the top levels of an XML document by a generic encoder, since it is
unlikely that the full document would be repeated. With SOAP, it is typically wise to start element caching at the
third level, i.e. leave Envelope and Body alone. Of course, if the encoder has more knowledge of the messages
sent, going further up may pay off."

  • HT4759 ipad is disabled connect to itunes, still i have this message even after connecting and doing restor ? please help

I am trying to log in to my ipad but still gives the message of "ipad is disabled connect to itunes, i did connect and updated with restore as instructed in itunes web. but still the same message password is needed but i cant enter password as the screen is frozen with connect to itunes?

    Hello mrhappy3,
I recommend this section of this article named iOS: Forgotten passcode or device disabled after entering wrong passcode found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212
If you have never synced your device with iTunes
Connecting the device may result in this error message: "iTunes could not connect to the [device] because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the [device] before it can be used with iTunes."
Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button.
iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
If this does not resolve the issue after a second try, then I would reset the iPad then then try again.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • Continuous "Sign In Failed" Message

I am running PS CC on Win 7 Pro, 64-bit and am 4 months into a one-year subscription.  Ever since I started usiing  the CC version (was using CS4 Web Premium), I have intermittently gotten weird startup messages like "You have 0 days left on your trial (?) version", "You have only 65535 days left on your trial version", "You need to register/activate your trial version" and "This Adobe ID has already been used to activate the software on two other computers".
Earlier today, I ran the Abobe Cloud app on my PC and updated the software (Abobe Cloud only, not PS CC).  Ever since then, I get a continuous "This Adobe ID..." message -- I can't get into PS CC at all.  And, by the way, the "two other computers" part is completely bogus -- I have activated it on one computer only.
I'm afraid to uninstall/re-install PS CC for fear I'll be put back into "trial status" and be told I have to pay again for a new subscription!!
Note:  I live in an extremely rural area, up in  the mountains with not exactly the fastest internet service (total bandwidth for the entire community is 20 M-bit), which may be giving the Adobe software indigestion, I don't know...
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Pragya,
Neither signing out nor choosing "deactivate all computers" had any effect --  I still got the Sign In Failure message.
After a two-hour chat with Adobe Level 2 Support, it was determined that there were corrupted files in Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache.  Once I deleted the files in SLCache and let PS CC rebuild them, the problem went away.  No telling how they got corrupted.
As I mentioned to the level 2 support guy (who did an excellent job, by the way), there appears to be no method to see what computers Adobe thinks contain the activated software.  In my opinion, that is a bad design and that opinion is based on over 40 years of software development experience.  I notice you are listed as staff; if you have a method to communicate this back to Development, I believe that capability should be added.
Regardless, thanks for your feedback.  The issue is solved as far as I'm concerned.

    Hi,
What version of the OS did you upgrade from ?
Anything before OS X 10.8.2 may have an issue if the Logic/Mother board has been replaced and the Serial Number not "flashed" back to it.
In the Apple Icon menu use the About this Mac item.
In the new panel click twice on the line that tells you the current OS level
It will change to the Build number (and alternative count to the OS versions) and then the Serial Number.
If it is missing you need to get it replaced.
(It is supposed to be done on Repair or Refurbishment).
An Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider as the best choices.
There are apps you can download (They are Mac Model specific) but needs careful typing as it is a once only trip.

  • I can't sign into messages or FaceTime  after restarting

After having lots of trouble with redirect and Internet problems I restarted my iPad 2. But now I cannot sign into my Messages or FaceTime. I know that changing the DNS can fix this but then I just have more redirect and Internet problems. I have tried almost everything! Got any ideas?

  • I can't sign in to my iMessage and FaceTime after getting a new apple ID account. What should I do to solve it?

When I got my iPad I created a new apple ID it was working fine but then one day when I went to the app store and checked my apple ID, as usual it asked for a password, I typed the password in and was very sure it was the right one because i've been using it for a long time. Then it said incorrect password. I tried to type it in again and again and again but it still said incorrect password. We checked if it still exists on apple.com but then it said no apple ID found or no matches to our records or something like that. So I decided to get a new one but still used the same email. I found out that if 1 email is associated with 2 different apple ID's it may cause problems but as I said we checked if the old one still existed on apple.com it said it didn't so I thought it was fine to use the email again. After that the app store was working fine. I can install games and apps. I knew I had to sign in to iMessage and FaceTime again because of the I got a new apple ID but whenever I try signing in, it always says "Incorrect password" and sometimes "check you internet connection". I've tried signing in over and over again but nothing worked I still can't sign jn to iMessage and Facetime. What do you think I should do?
