Still trying to find a good way of rotating an image for GUI

All my efforts have rendered rotated images which have suffered greatly in quality, does anyone have any ideas?

remember the aspect of the screen changes when you rotate, consequently you get squat images or elongations... rescale for the accurate aspect once you are done.

I'm trying to find an easier way to import my music to iTunes. Even the most basic music player can scan your computer and import found music into your library. I don't want to move my MP3s into the iTunes folder, I don't want iTunes doing any conversion.

Okay, no problem.
If the top bar menu is not displayed in top left of your iTunes Library, use the CTRL+B keys to turn it on:
On that menu, use File/Add Folder to Library and navigate to the folder you wish to add:
If you wish to add just one song, notice the File/Add File to Library command on that menu as well.
Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop from the file's location into your iTunes Library.
That's all there is to it.
By the way, it is possible to have Amazon MP3s downloaded to your computer and then automatically added to the iTunes Library by the Amazon downloader. I do it all the time.

Replaced HD yesterday Was able to restore from Time Machine Now, it won't back up to Time Machine. I removed the TM and tried to add it- the error is "The disk image for "computername.sparsebundle" is in use. Try ejecting the disk image - How do I do?

What's a good way to manage custom schema?
Custom Schema for Object Class and Attributes
The reason I ask this is because there might be a need in the future where I need to export those custome schema into different branded directory server. I just want to make this as painless as possible.
Right now, I thought of 2 options
1) Create my own LDIF file with my custom attributes and object classes, so if one day I need to export to another directory server, I can just copy that custom created LDIF file over. (Will this work?)
2) Create a JAVA application using JNDI. What this Java App. will do is read through a XML file and create those object classes and attributes on-the-fly. (of course, the XML structure will be predefined by me, so that my Java App. will be able to parse through it correctly. Will this work?)
Anymore suggestion? I would want to hear more advices and suggestions.
Also, I assume that will work even with replication. All I need to update is the master server, and the slaves will replicate automatically.

The best way to enlarge an image for print?

I've been designing for print for several years. Occasionally I design large display posters/banners (A0, 6-sheet, billboard etc) which use a photographic image. Assuming that the image I have is smaller at 300ppi than the final print, what is the best way to enlarge the image? Based on my experience, it seems that there are three options (to make it simple, the example here assumes that my image is exactly half the size it needs to be printed at. I'm also assuming that the file I will supply to the printer will be a high res pdf exported from Indesign):
1. Set up the Indesign file at 100% size, place the photo and have Indesign upscale the image to 200%. Export a high res pdf for print.
2. Set up the indesign file at 50% size, place the photo with no upscaling by Indesign. Export a high res pdf and have the printer blow it up to 200%.
3. Set up the Indesign file at 100% size, enlarge the photo in Photoshop to 200%, and place the photo with no upscaling in Indesign. Export a high res pdf for print.
I have been advised that having Indesign upscale the image is not a good idea, and I never do this. I guess that option 3 is probably best, with Photoshop doing the work and the resulting pdf being the correct size. However, it's not always possible to do this – some posters are huge which means that the enlarged photo and the high res pdf will both be huge files, and I think also Indesign has a maximum document set up size anyway. So sometimes I use option 2.
So firstly, why is it a bad idea for Indesign to upscale the image (as I say, I never do this, but I would like to know the technical reason)? Secondly, if the choice is between re-sizing myself in Photoshop prior to exporting the pdf, or having the printer enlarge a high res pdf, which is better? When I say 'better' I mean in terms of the quality/sharpness of the end result. Also, I assume that vector elements in my design will not be adversely affected in either scenario, is that assumption correct?

Sorry for the added confusion. It appears, after doing some checking in my CS2 apps ( InDesign), there is no setting for DPI / Output Resolution. Only Transparency Flattener Setting. See screen shot below...
If you select Postscript File in the Print Presets, you can access resolution settings for transparency flattening there, too...
in the "Advanced" tab dialog...
But, I like having the option in Illustrator 10 File > Document Setup where I can set the output resolution to whatever is appropriate. In this case ( below ) I've got it set for 5080dpi / 300ppi. You also have Effect > Document Raster Effect Setting where you can select 300ppi ( see screen shot below )...
...and Raster Effects Resolution setting...
I may have misled you because the apps I have are not CS6; but you should be able to follow along in your CS6 apps in various settings dialogs. Mainly, resolution settings can be set in the Print dialog boxes.
The main thing to keep in mind is, because you are enlarging upon output, the base scaled down file must have enough resolution to maintain its appearance at the final size. In the case of 50% or 25% file resolution should be maximum ( for current apps it appears 300ppi is considered high resolution. Most apps now leave output resolution setting adjusted in the RIP / Print driver.
I still use Distiller because it allows me to setup custom PDF settings and save them for future use. You very well may be able to do that in CS6 apps; but I have a tried-and-true workflow that utilizes Distiller as a personal preference.

Trying to find an efficient way to share all our music with 2 different apple ids

My wife and I are trying to make more space in the house and burn all of our CDs to itunes (we have close to 800 cds). We do have separate apple ids and separate itunes accounts on our laptops (pc's). We have (2) iphone 5s, our son's ipod touch, and we just bought an ipad mini3.
The majority of our music (85%) is from CDs that we bought and own. Only about 15% did we purchase from the itunes store. We want to burn all of the music onto 1 account/device, but also be able to access that music from all of our devices. We do not want all of our devices to share the same apple ID (i.e. I do a lot of work emails, calendars, etc on my phone as well as my wife on hers). We want to make sure we aren't getting each others text messages, not getting each other's emails, etc. We are hoping the ipad will be the main device for home use, but my wife still wants to be able to access and put those songs on her phone if she wants.
What is the best way to do this? I thought itunes Match but someone had told me that is only for purchased itunes store content and not for CDs that I own.

I have already been through this (should have mentioned it in my post). For some reason i can remove my details on my phone but my mums details are greyed out so cannot get those deleted although they are unchecked. The same goes for my mums iphone and ipad, my details are there unchecked but are greyed out so cannot be deleted.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how this happened or how to fix it.

Want to thank Philly Phan, Brie Fly & Ali Brown for trying to help me last month. I'm still having the same problem. Can anyone tell me what could possibily cause iPhoto v2.0.1 to suddenly grayout all Mail: options except Apple's Mail (which I don't use)? And I cannot delete that option. I had AOL checked & it worked great. I did not change the preference, but something else must have. I have not updatd any software. I did install the software for my new Canon A620 camera. The software was Image Browser & Camera Window.
I have tried trashing the preferences, Repaired Disk Permissions & ran TechTool Pro 4. I also changed the AOL icon to read America Online as suggested. NO luck.Is there anything else I can try? Help!

This is probably alerting you to the error message. Does it stop bouncing when you view the message?

Redo this procedure.
Quit iPhoto.
While AOL is not loaded, open your Applications folder.
Click on AOL under the icon. This should change AOL to an editable text field.
Rename AOL to America Online.
Be sure when you type America Online that you enter it exactly as it appears here, with no extra spaces before, in the middle, or after.

I'm trying to find a good diary App

using the calander to make notes is ok but i'm looking for something a little different. i am recording daily performance notes on a small business enterprise. what i want is to be able to go back over these daily notes by flicking day to day as you do when browsing through photo's. having to view a note, then go back to the day, then go to the next day and then into that days note seems very cumbersome. can anyone help?

In this situation, the processor and the RAM are looking good but my concern is the little phrase "Up to" 4059MB video memory. That typically means that memory is not dedicated (although the specs tab implies it) and how much you get varies from game to game.
If you're willing to front a bit more on the cost, this tower would suit your needs quite nicely in my opinion:
HP Pavilion h8-1234
It has similar specs to the one you were looking at but offers 1GB dedicated graphics memory along with 4855MB of that shared memory power. This would be a great gaming computer to start out with and it should keep up with the newer games as well, although likely not at max settings.

Still trying to find a BT router that works - Mod ...

Had BT Infinity 1 upgraded to 2, installed many moons ago with HH3 and external modem. Internet connection has always been ok but HH3 would never connect without crashing over 2.4Ghz to Apple iPhones. BT sent me both models A & B in attempts to resolve this but in the end I gave up, considered the HH3 not fit for purpose, bit the bullet and bought my own 3rd party router as there was no alternative solution from BT.
My 3rd party router has now failed and, as BT now has alternatives to the HH3, and I've NEVER had a router solution from BT that actually works properly, I'm looking to see if I can now get a solution from BT that should work... Now tempted to move from BT to a competitor which will shave a little off my monthly cost and get me a new router into the bargain.
BT "tech support" said they can only resolve the issue by charging me for a HH5. I don't see why I should have to pay again/more for the original solution BT have *never* been able to get to work, as I consider not being able to connect to an iPhone over standard Wifi without crashing the router as 'not a solution that works'. BT will send be yet another HH3 (!), which I would be fine with if only it worked, but having two so far that don't, just how many times do I have to receive more HH3's before BT find a solution that works/admit the HH3 is NOT a solution!?!
Can the Mods help out here? I'm not demanding a HH5 specfically for free, just a solution that actually works. I really don't think it's reasonable I should have to shell out again for another 3rd party router. I just want a solution that delivers 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz WiFi reliably, which is what BT promised their original solution was supposed to be capable of :-(

What makes you sure that it's the HH and not your Apple device?
I work with wireless devices all day, every day (I'm a WLAN consultant). I've seen more iDevices cause issues than I've had hot dinners.
The problem is that Apple just don't seem to stick to standards. They'll implement a technology and make some element of that technology work better with other Apple devices than they will with 3rd-party devices.
It's not just limited to Wifi either. They do this with Bluetooth too. I've got a Motorola TK30 Bluetooth Hands-Free system in my car. My Windows and Android phones connect to it perfectly, every time, but my iPhone 4S and my iPad 2 disconnect constantly. When they do connect I have problems making and receiving calls via the 4S and the iPad streams music if it feels like it. I installed the TK30 because my Parrot was... wait for it... not working with my iPhone!!
Sorry, but IMO the HH3 is fit for purpose.

I have been trying to update the software to 3.6.17for a while now, but it just sits and churns and says it is connecting to the server. I have already had my computer on all night and return in the morning to see it is still trying to find the server.

Thank you roaminggnome. All that I don't know. I know nothing about all this stuff. I am on a pc here at home that has a cable hookup to Roadrunner internet. Some kind of modome with a buch of lights sit on top of my computer that hooks me up. So I don't guess I have wi-fi here. Ever since I got my iphone 4, I have been trying to use FaceTime here and it always tell me that I need a wi-fi connection I think. Also wanted to update to iso5 again it tells me the same. Every now and then a thing will pop up on my phone asking if I want to join a certain Wi-Fi that has the littlck on it and when I click join it tells me to put in the pass word to join. NO GO! Thanks again for your help. I do appreciate it. I guess I will have to find someone that lives around me that can explain this stuff to me and show me what is needed.

Good way to trigger exit event for VI's loaded in subpanels?

Sorry if this is a novice question, but I haven't gotten much traction searching for an answer the last couple days.
I have a setup that uses remote panels for an interactive "lab." The panel loads a reentrant VI that is just a tab control, the front of which has a user/password/lab selection form, and upon proper credentials being entered tabs to one large subpanel. This panel loads the selected lab VI, which is itself just a rudimentary VI with 2+ subpanels, each of which loads a specific instrument. The instrument VI's are being held open by the subpanels, so that if the user closes the browser everything exits. It all seems to work fine so far.
What I'm wondering is if there is a simple way to force a handful of commands/cleanup-actions before these instrument VI's leave memory. One device in particular ramps high voltage on start, and I'd like to ramp it down as part of a cleanup step. Is there an easy way to incorporate this with my setup? If not, what's the best way fundamentally to handle something like this? I'm far from an expert, but if there is a lot better way to design a setup like this I'd love to hear it.

I actually have toyed with both the application close? and panel close? events. Panel close doesn't seem to trigger off a subpanel (I think I read that in the help too). Application close doesn't trigger because I have to keep the highest level vi's front panel open or the remote panel doesn't display anything, and for my purpose that interface has to be active 24/7, even if individual labs aren't in use.
Maybe I should rephrase the question... is there any way to detect when a vi loaded in a subpanel is about to be taken out of memory because the subpanel is no longer viewing it?
I'm thinking if not perhaps there is a way to detect if a VI is loaded in a subpanel with another independent VI, and when that VI sees that the instrument VI in question is no longer running (due to the subpanel closing) it takes the appropriate action, rather than integrating cleanup into the instrument itself.... Anyone have any experience with this?
