Still with Error itunes needs to close

I don't get it. I've installed uninstalled done all sorts of things and the fact is. I need itunes to work! Now my problem is that supposedly a new version of quicktime is installed yet I can't see it or delete it. I don't konw how it would help but I want redownload it.
Other than that, any help with getting my itunes to open would be appreciated.

Hi guys,
I'm a huge Apple fan so I obviously decided to upgrade to Apple 7.0.1 the day it came out... installed it. Opened it up, but within just a few seconds i got a Windows message saying
"iTunes has encountered an error and needs to close"
I reinstalled it and still have the same problem.
First few days I could atleast keep iTunes open for a few minutes before the message, but now its down to just a few seconds.
I run Windows XP if that helps any.
Please help me fix this problem or tell me how I can put iTunes 6 back on my computer --- I need my music!

After downloading and installing 7.0.1 my iTunes would not open either. Even worse is you can't go back to v6 if you had v7 running--the database is updated.
Luckily I was able to get my iTunes to open again by doing the following:
Click Start/Run
Type in "%userprofile%\application data\apple computer"
Right click on the iTunes folder and rename it to iTunes.bak.
Close the window.
Click Start/Run again.
Type in "%userprofile%\local settings\application data\apple computer"
Right click on the iTunes folder and rename it to iTunes.bak.
Close the window.
Try opening your iTunes again. It may re-ask some general setup questions, but mine opened without the error, and it still had all my music. However, I did have to re-authorize my computer.
I used to never be leary about updating iTunes... guess Apple's software ain't no peach, either.

It sounds as if you are having difficulty connecting to the App Store to check for updates for applications on your iPad. If that is the case, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

while trying to import my c.d. collection to itunes, i quite often get the message "itunes has experienced an error and needs to close. do you want to send the error to microsoft?" it usually takes me about 20 minutes to import 1 c.d. to itunes becuase i have to keep re-opening itunes after it closes. i never lose anything i have already imported. sometimes i will get through 5 songs before i get the error message, sometimes i cant get through a single song. whats the deal here??

What if you try importings CDs to your computer (not to iTunes) Is this normally working? If yes the problem is in ITunes and if no the problem is maybe your CD player. If the problem is in iTunes you should try to download the latest version from the Apple pages and then update/reinstall.

I've had this problem for a while now and I'm just plain sick of it!
Every time I start up iTunes it does the "Determining Gapless Playback" thing, but when it gets to certain songs it freezes up and I get an error message that says:
"iTunes has encountered an error and needs to close"
This happenes to a lot of songs (a few dozen)and the only way I can actually access my library is by hitting the 'x'next to "Determining Gapless Playback" before it gets to the songs. However, now I can't even do that because it gets to the song immediately.
I need to know if I can disable the gapless playback or somehow debug this (I have reinstalled iTunes, Quicktime works, I have reloaded my library, done a system restore,and changed users/startup programs... nothing works)
PLEASE help!

Ok everytime i try to open up itunes it immediatly opens up a window that says itunes has encountered a serious error and needs to close....i send the error report microsoft directs me to check out that apple page to uninstall qt and then repair...i have tried everything that i read in these forums, even the one where it says to go into dos mode(F8 to get to safe mode) and delete the files that have a random 4 or 6 letter file ending in .exe
i am at my whits end here please help i need my itunes
by the way it worked fine when i first installed it for about 2 days then i get nothing...

oh yeah and when i go to uninstall it from add\remove programs when the wizard comes up and is running i get that same error and needs to close message, but i doenst effect the uninstall wizard(i dont think)........PLEASE HELP

Hi everyone,
I keep getting an error message stating that the program didn't close properly when I try to run it or re-install. It also says that the program encountered an error and needs to close that any information might be lost. It gives me the options to debug, send error report or don't send error report. No matter what I click nothing happens. I tried all 3 options several time.
I tried re-installing at least 4 times, downloaded the latest updates and software for iTune and iPod updater. When I run the install program, towards the end of the Installshield wizard the same error pops up. There is an icon of a music note inside a circle on the top right corner of the pop up box. No error message # is provided.
I really don't know what is causing this or what might fix it. I haven't been able to find any information on here that seems to relate to this problem either. Please contact me at: [email protected]

I called the Apple tech support line and they were able to fix my problem by:
Disabling or un-installing all anti-virus, spyware, adware softwares on the computer.
Uninstalling Quick Time
Not uninstalling iTunes but repairing it.
Everything loaded up like a charm afterwards with no error message

Error generated - needs to close

I had a power supply failure caused by a floppy driver fault.
The power supply was replaced and i was using Photo shop Elements Organiser to download photos from my SD card.
The computer froze while red eye correction was running and had to be reset.
Every time I load organiser it generates the following error:-
" Organiser needs to close - Error code c0000005 Address 1fad1d4"
I have removed the program and reinstalled it but still the same.
I am using Photoshop Elemnts 4 with Premiere Elements 4.
Should i remove both and reinstall?

Excel encountered an error and need to close

Hello
We suddenly have Excel crashing with one single report among others saying 'Excel encountered an error and needs to close'.
The report run last week and we didn't change it meanwhile, nor did we change the Excel version.
Version: SAP BPC 5.1 on SQL 2005 running with Excel 2003
What we already tried:
- full process of all dimensions
- reinstall of office client
- open/save the report with another excel version (2002) outside BPC
Does anybody know this behaviour and does anybody have an idea to workaround it?
For me honestly a reinstall of Excel or to rebuild the whole report would put in question the quality of BPC in general.

You could probably try re-house the report into a new excel workbook.
Literally copy across the sheet contents and see if that fixes it.
This technique works sometimes where excel reports/templates can get corrupted...

CTIOS encountered an error and needs to close

We frequently get the "CTIOS encountered an error and needs to close" while trying to launch CTIOS desktop( CTI out of box). This usually gets fixed when we reinstall the application. But this issue is so frequent that i am wondering what the root cause may be and fix for that, instead of reinstalling the app every time this issue occurs.Any help on this is appreciated.

Thanks for your quick response Geoff , Unfortunately the desktop does not write anything in the client log files when it shows this error. I assumed that this has something to do with the corruption of DLL files. I am not sure how to trace back to the roots.I have seen many posts in this forum who faced the same problem, so thought some one would have found some alternative solution than reinstalling the application.

Generic Host process for WIN32 encountered an error and needed to close

I hv installed SAP ECC6.0 SR3 on WIndows 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition. Many times i get an popup message on Windows Server "Generic Host process for WIN32 encountered an error and needed to close"
I hv checked the Event Viewer, in Event Viewer it shows the application error.
Consequences of this error is that my Transport path //hostname/sapmnt/trans becomes inaccesible, and I have to take the restart of Windows server to solve the problem. ONce Windows server is restarted for some time transports work, Again when receiving the same error popup on Windows, Transport path goes down.
Can anyone give input on this???

Itunes need to close message

When I connect my Ipod and after itunes opens up about a minute later i get the message that says, itunes needs to close sorry for the inconvience. Can any suggest what i need to do to fix this.

or does it only happen while you're transferring material to the PC?

I am trying to get my son's new ipod nano ready for music, I have downloaded itunes, but it will not open. When I click on the icon, a message that says "itunes has encountered a problem and needs to close" It asks if I want to send an error report. I have uninstalled and reinstalled (twice) I do not have Norton or any other anti-virus, apparantly. I have restarted a couple of times. I have ready MANY threads on similar issues, tried most with no luck. any suggestions, son is bgetting anxious-all he has done is look at his new ipod for 2 days!

This error could be caused by a number of things. Try it one more time, and if the error comes up write down what kind of error it is (ie. Symantec, Runtime,). Then do a google search for that. You may be able to find a solution elsewhere.
