While first configuring my storage array this critical error has flagged:

Having looked around i am having trouble finding what the problem is and a way of correcting it. I have no error lights, and have followed the instructions to reset the controller, but as i can't see a problem outside this message, it is unclear whether the problem is solved.
If in fact there is no problem , how do i remove the error.

This is a known bug with the single controller configuration. Please upgrade to the latest version of CAM and upgrade the array f/w to the latest version.

Hello, I have suddenly rec'd numerous hard drive errors "hard drive doesn't respond to system commands" and critical error messages "damaged hard drive clusters detected. private data is at risk." "system has detected a problem with one or more installed IDE/SATA hard disks" along with other error messages. I have a toshiba satellite A505 over a year old and never had a problem until now. Yes, Katy. Be sure to back up all your important files. The machine you get back will most likely have all of your pictures, Xmas cards, favorites, contacts and so forth missing.

Critical Error Message comes up after trying to ingest video in capture mode

I have a Sony FX1 camera and a MacBook. The MacBook is brand new and has the newest version of Adobe Premiere Pro. I am trying to ingest video onto my desktop by capturing the video through Adobe Premiere Pro. The Sony FX1 camera has an HDV output (Firewire 400) connected to an adapter that on the one end is Firewire and on the other is the new Thunderbolt technology for newer Macs.
Opening Premiere Pro and creating a new project is no issue. I open the Capture screen to try and ingest video. There is no problem opening the capture screen, but as soon as I hit the play button in the capture screen to play the video on my camera a critical error message comes up and it shuts down Premiere Pro. It does it every time I try to play the video on my camera.
Why is this happening and what do I do to stop it?

Critical Error Message

I have a 40G iPod I can only load about 2G of music on it. When I reach the 2G point I get a Critical Error message (69). and I can not add any more music to it. I have performed disk check using the Windows Check Disk Utility and I have performed the HDD Scan and HDD R/W with no errors. Any thoughts on what the problem may be that prevents my iPod receiving more than 2G of music?

How to change java error message in transaction page?

Hi experts,
I want to ask, how to change ess critical error message to a user friendly message?
the message appear because of user exit that we used on the back end.
so here's the case:
we use user exit of travel management to check end date of trip maximum is 2week from now.
the user exit run correctly,
but, the problem is it(error message) is appear in a new page. (and we can't undo or go back to the transaction page)
how to make it appear in the transaction page? so the employee could easily change the date without input the transaction again from beginning?

Unknown SID Error Message/Unable To Login to VM Manager

Hello,
I have installed VM Server and VM Manager on the latest Virtual Box install for Windows 7.
When I attempt to login into the VM Manager (ID: ovm , Default Password: Welcome1) - I get
the error message:
"... [APP: ovm_console] An incorrect username or password was specified. ...."
I selected all default passwords and database config values during installation (e.g., SID=XE).
(Note: I am able to login to VM Manager GNOME desktop but I am unable to log into the VM Manager UI.
I can log in as root in a Xterm window and the ovm Welcome1 password allows me into the GNOME environment. )
The critical error message in the AdminServer.log IS an unknown 'SID' message (even though the default SID=XE was selected):
"ORA-12505, TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor"
I reviewed the responses to the "Unable to Login to VM Manager" thread so I decided to try the recommended response (unlocking ovs oracle password) even though the logs responses were different in certain areas. I logged in as Oracle with the correct user env and attempted to start the XE database via sqlplus sys user and startup command. I was unable to start the database due to the below error message:

Shutdown abort also did not get rid of this message. Symptons suggest there is a lock not being released (e.g., primitive file that needs to be cleaned up/removed.) I did remove oracle *.lck files from /tmp directory but this did not help either. The ps -elf output also reveals there are no oracle pmon processes running.
If anybody has additional information on this matter - it would be greatly appreciated.

Further investigation reveals the reason why I can't manually start the database as oracle user. The permissions on the oracle directories via the default install are incorrect. Running the command chown -R oracle:dba /u01/app/oracle/ allowed the database to start.. OVS user is now able to login into the XE database.
Now logging in w/ admin user in VM results in the following error message:
" Unexpected error during login (com.oracle.ovm.mgr.api.exception.FailedOperationException: OVMAPI_6000E Internal Error: Connection refused Connection refused Sat Nov 24 11:39:22 PST 2012), please consult logs for details.
I am spending way too much time on this Virtual box install. Any feedback would be appreciated.

User is getting critical error while accessing ESS

Hi Experts,
User is getting critical error message while accessing ESS tabs ( working time , career and job ...etc ).
User account in PORTAL as well as in the ECC Backend is fine.(105 infotype is maintained).
User has valid roles also.
Can anybody please help me in solving this issue.

2.Did you check the permissions on the system object used to access the ECC box.

Hide full error message / ESS

Hello folks,
We sometimes receive critical error messages in ESS where the first couple of lines give a summary of the issue and then the rest (sometimes a couple of pages)is details about where exactly the error took place like com.sap.pcuigp.xssfpm.java.MessageManager etc etc. I am wondering if there is any way that these details are not shown to ordinary users, but just the summary of the error. There is a tray at the top which is expanded, if this could be collapsed it would do the trick. Are you aware of any such setting?
We are running XSS 100, Portal and Java are in SP18, Netweaver 2004

Hi Ramco,
You need to assign the Portal user to your ECC HR infotype (PA30). HR functional people know abt that.
You can asign the user into particular personal number and Infotype(communication).
Afterthat you will not face the critical error.

I just powered the 20 gig up, and the critical error message apeared. Is there anything I can do?

Poking around a little more I see some suggestions about this error being caused when the batteries are too low. I was actually trying to use it plugged in but without batteries. I had put it away and so I took the batteries out. If these batteries don't work can I use regular alkaline batteries? If the HDD is actually bad (I found out that the article that used to be on nomadness.com was about how to replace the HDD) I'm just going to chuck it, but I'd like to see if it can be solved by charging or replacing the batteries.

I get the following error message when I start Adobe Illustrator CC.

Then it gives me the option to continue by clicking okay. When it opens, the Application Bar is just blank.
I've tried uninstalling, then ran Adobe CC Cleaner, then downloaded and reinstalled.

I also have had a difficult time with Adobe Illustrator CC 2014 crashing upon launch. The support staff was great even though we had to work through several sessions. Below is the email explaining our final session.
This email is in regards with the issue you had been facing with Illustrator CC 2014.
While going through the installer logs, we found that there was an issue with the installation & the program installer had been denied access to several critical files & folders during installation.
This was the main reason for Illustrator crash as several critical components had not been installed properly.
We tried installing the program in a new user account & that worked.
Though the program has been installed properly now & is working in your old account, I will still strongly recommend you to get your computer user account repaired with a Windows 7 operating system diskette.
This is required so that you do not run into more trouble later while working with the Adobe Applications or even while installing other programs.

Hi. First time forum user so bear with me.
I'm not sure if this is the correct forum for this but the assistance of anyone who may be able to shed some light on the problem whould be greatly appreciated. I am having a problem when attempting to install the Companion CD for HTMLDB 1.6 and HTTP Server, details given below:
The following Oracle components have been successfully installed
     Oracle 10gR2 Database.
     Oracle 10gR2 Database patch 10.2.03.
     Critical patch up date (security).
The following Oracle component failed to install.
     Companion CD for HTMLDB 1.6 and HTTP server
Scenario leading up to failure
     Extracted companion CD installation files to D:\oracle\utilities\Oracle_10_2_0_Companion
     Executed D:\oracle\utilities\Oracle_10_2_0_Companion\companion\setup.exe.
The following error message is displayed in a "JAVA VIRTUAL MACHINE LAUNCHER" dialog box
     "Could not find the main event class. Program will exit."
I have been attmepting to resolve this problem for over a week and have already checked the following with no resolution to the problem:
Cause. This issue may have to do with two issues (and may occur more on Windows):-
1. Within the ORACLE_HOME directory full pathname there is a space.
2. The directory from where the software / patch is being installed has a space within the directory full
pathname (where the file for the installation by default is named products.jar or products.xml).
Solution. To implement the solution, please execute the following steps:-
1. Rename the full pathname directory NOT to contain a space.
2. Launch again the OUI... and verify if the problem occurs.
Any further guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Can you install using OUI from the RDBMS installation? IIRC, there is a problem using OUI on companion to install companion items.

"Unable to open project file" Error Message

I pulled an all-nighter (13 hours of editing) last night to create a critical project in FCE 3.5.1 on my Intel iMac running 10.4.11 then left this afternoon for a few hours and shut down my machine. Came back tonight and tried to open the project (which I saved on my Maxtor 1 TB external drive along with all of the scratch disk files). To my absolute panic, it won't open the file now with an error message that simply says, "Unable to open project file". HELP!!!! Anyone have any suggestions?!?!

In the past I found (and reported to Apple Feedback) the same bug Steve reports here, but I should recall that the problem:
- only appeared in PAL projects (probably not the case for kscritch) - never heard of it in NTSC
- was consistent in FCE 3.x, not so in FCE 4
I made tests importing .psd images with transparency into PAL projects using FCE 4, and I had various behaviours: sometimes the project worked, sometimes I couldn't open the project again (as in FCE 3), sometimes I had error messages with inconsistent behaviour (msg like "file error", but the project opened and file was there...), etc. so I decided to do without.
Now I only import .tif or .png images when I need transparency
