STO INSPECTION

Hi,
My scenario is I am receiving material from Plant X to Y. I want to inspect the material in Plant Y (receiving plant).
Please clarify the below points:
1)    I have activated inspection type 08 in receiving plant. Is it correct?
2)    I want to create notification for the supplying Plant. Notification type F3 is being used. Is it correct?
3)    The supplying plant is not reflected in the inspection lot. I want to take vendor quality rating for the supplying plant.

is it a STO scenario or normal MRP Purchase order scenario.?
If it is STO then you can carry out this scenario.

Yes .This will work but if you are using the STO order in that case you can also try to active 02 or 01 in receiving plant.
2) I want to create notification for the supplying Plant. Notification type F3 is being used. Is it correct?
F2 is against vendor who is supplying the material.F3 is against material.
3) The supplying plant is not reflected in the inspection lot. I want to take vendor quality rating for the supplying plant.
If you crate a plant as a vendor then its like a normal vendor Quality rating.otherwise if it is only stock trnasfer from one plant to other then its difficult to have VQR.

STO Inspection type 08

Stock transport orders are used to move materials from one plant to other plant. However, no inspection process is performed when inventory moved between plant to plant transfer using stock transfer orders.
Materials are activated with 08 inspection type to perform inspection processes with in plant. Therefore, removing 08 inspection type may not be possible from material master. When material is received using STO system creates inspection lot of type 08. Is there a way to avoid creating inspection lot when material is received from other plants ?
The option what I thought is to create a quality info record and set "No inspection" however, this option is not possible because there is no vendor in stock transport order process.
The other option is to create an dynamic modification rule and set up skips such that system never post stock in quality when goods receipt is performed for stock transfer order.
Please recommend if there is a way to avoid creating inspection lot of type 08 when goods receipt is performed for stock transfer order.

Well there is one solution available for this
1.In OMJJ make a copy of mvt type 301 ( just an example : considering your material transfer takes palce through 301 mvt) say Z01.
In QCC3--->Inspection lot creation >inspection for goods mvt>Deactivate Quality Inspection for a Movement Type->for Z01 you can deactivate QM.
You haev to use only Z01 when you carry out STO.
This will not create Inspection lot for this mvt type.But when you do transfer from storage location to storage location say with 311 it will create inspection lot of 08 as per your requirement.

Plant to plant (STO)Inspection

I want to Quality Inspetion (01-type) when material is transfer from one plant to Another plant.In another plant material is received under MIGO against Delivary from first plant.I do not want Stock transfer Inspection(08).How can I do this if I want to do Receipt Inspection

Hi Sanjay,
The inspection type for 01 inspection type is triggered by 101 mvmt type and through manual lots. In your case the inspection will be triggered by 301, which will trigger 08 insp lot. So, if you wanna do 01, than you need to do it manually by activating 01 in the Material master.

Unable to pick correct quality plan

Hi all,
Z8 inspection type created (copying 08) and for the same material we have used std. STO inspection type 08.
we have created Z09 movement type (copying 309 movement type). we have done 311 movement type(insp. type 08 activated )
For a material we have activated both 08 and Z8 inspection type, I have not done any preferred inspection type in the material master
parallelly I have created task list z5 usage for z8 inspection type and 05 usage for 08 insp. type.
now my requirement is to pick z5 usage quality plan for z09 movement type + z8 inspection type combination
already system is picking 05 usage quality plan for 311 movement type + 08 inspection type combination
how to bridge this gap ?

Both the 309 and 311 material movements have an inspection origin of 08. So your Z09 movement type will also have an 08 inspection origin.
You have two inspection types (08 and Z8) assigned to the inspection origin. The problem is that the system, regardless of the movement type, is just looking for an inspection type with an 08 origin. It will find two.. 08 and Z8. so it won't know which to take unless one is marked as preferred.
If you want to pick the inspection type, then you would need to use a user exit to do this for you. Probably user exit QAAT0001 Inspection type determination different from variant 01.

Inspection Lot Not Triggered for STO - One Plant to other Plant in same Company

Dear SAP Gurus,
We have a scenario of STO for one plant to other plant with in the same company code.
The process is being followed as follows ;
1. We create stock transfer by creating P.O thru ME21N
2. Create Outbound delivery thru VL10B
3. Doing PGI & Picking thru 'VL02N. Thru movement type '641'
The QM settings are as follows to trigger an inspection lot
1. Inspection lot origin '08' activated in MM.
2. Quality plan is defined and task list is released.
3. 'VL02N' is defined thru 'OMJJ' for movemrnt type '641'.
But while doing PGI no inspection lot is created.
Our requirement is to trigger a inspection lot and Invoicing / Billing only possible after inspection lot Approval.
Please advice.

As per my understanding inspection type 10 should be activated in QM view material master.

Inspection lot creation during STO return

Hello Gurus,
is there a trick to trigger inspection lot creation during STO return ?
Scenario is the following:
1 - Creation of STO
2 - Supplying plant ships materials... stock in transit
3 - Receiving plant receives materials
4 - Materials with defects -> Receiving plant add new line with return tick on the same material
5 - GI from Receiving plant... stock in transit
6 - Supplying plant receives materials -> Inspection lot has to be created
I used inspection type 08 on Receiving plant w/o success.

No inspection lot is created when we return Materials to Vendor (Plant A) even if we maintain Inspection type 02.
Before STO customizing, Plant B creates a subcontracting purchase order. Next Materials are sending to Vendor (Plant A) and put in "Stock provided to vendor" (Transaction ME2O).
Vendor (Plant B) creates a Repair request (Sales document / Transaction VA01). Next run VRRE to reveice Materials to repair. Inspection lot is automatically created. The usage decision triggers the creation of Service order to manage all the repairing flow. Last step is to deliver Materials to Plant A and create Repair invoice.
Repair request supports all repairing flow (inspection lot, service oder...), especialy status (out of warranty or not).
After STO customizing, I expected the following result:
1° - Return STO to Vendor (Plant A) / ME21N with return tick
2° - Plant B ships Materials / MIGO wih 101 (SAP converts in 161)
3° - Stock in Transit
4° - Materials receive to Vendor (Plant B) / VL10B
5° - Creation Inspection lot
6° - UD triggered Service order creation
7° - ...Repairing flow with Service order...
8° - Materials ship to Plant B
9° - Repair invoice
10° - Stock in Transit
11° - Plant B receives Materials
As I said, there are 2 blocking points:
- Inspection lot not created when Vendor receives Materials
- Service order not created automatically (because no Repair request to support inspection lot, service order...)

Inspection lot with 01 origin for stock transfer (Intra company STO)?

Hi Sap Gurus,
As per standard SAP configuration for 101 movement type, 08 is the inspection type used for stock transfers (Intra company STO). But, there is a requirement from business to use 01 for Intra STO. Is it possible to get an inspection lot with 01 origin while GR to the delivery created for Intra STO ( Stock transfer B/n plants from same company code)?.

Its STO Purchase order between two plants under same company code. System triggers movement type 101 with movement indicator B - Goods movement for Purchase order and Receipt indicator X - Stock transport order. Here system expects inspection lot origin 08 as per standard SAP configuration(OMJJ).
I just wanted to check, is it possible to get inspection lot from 01 origin for this type of stock transfers. If anyone who worked on this area, please share your inputs.

Not creating inspection lot for STO

Hi ,
I have two plants X(Supplying) and Y (Receiving).
In material master in quality 01 and 08 (inspection type) for plant Y active.
Process as folllow:
1)STO with U (acc assignment) created.
2)VL10B ,created delivery.
3)Vl02n PGI
4)Migo GR for STO did in plant Y.
but stock is not going in quality instead of this it is going in unrestricated.
Guys please throw some light ,why system is behaving like this.

In your STO purchase order in Delivery tab check if stock type is " X Quality Inspection"
Check in Material master updated inspection types 01 and 08 are checked as active
In material master quality view Post to inspection stock check box is active

I want Sto stock to Quality Inspection stock.Then i want Quality Inspection stock to production purpes
I want return stock to Quality Inspection stock.then Quality Inspection stock to normal stock

For the material to go into quality stk,in the puchasing view of material master for the receiving plant tick the post to inspection stk & save.
Then do the STO the material will come automatically into quality stk.
Even if u dont tick in material master still u can receive the matl in QI stk when doing migo by selcting the QI stk.
After receiving the matl u can move it by using tcode MB1B & mvmt type321 to Unrestricted use.
IN SAP only the unrestricted can be issued to production.

Inspection lot PGI for STO-Quality management

Sirs,
I have a query. I have an FG where i am using an STO to transfer the material from 1 plant to another. Here i have inspection type 08 assigned in the master. I have assigned the origin 08 to the delivery type NL hence when i save the OBD (not post PGI) the inspection lot is generated. But even though the inspection lot is generated the system is allowing me to post the Goods Issue for the material. How do i bring the lock in invoicing so that if the lot is generated the PGI of the OBD is not allowed and system should give the message 'status of the inspection lot does not allow goods movement'..

but when i am moving the stock from Plant Sloc A to same plant Sloc B one more inspection lot is cretaed (movment type 311)
if i go to SPRO i can deactivate 311 movement type to avoid creating inspection lot
but it is client level , i need to restrict only for one plant
is there any other way to control just one inspection lot for one GR
if you are not clear with my writing pls do not hesitate to ask for more information

Inspection type for STO with delivery and billing , two step procedure

We've STO scenario between two company codes, plant '1000' of company code '1000' supplies goods to plant '2000' of company code '2000' using STO. We'd like to evaluate the supplying plant for vendor evalution with respect to receiving plant,
Please suggest , which inspection type '01' or '08' needs to be activated in the material master in receiving plant '2000' in order to consider the supplying plant ' 1000' for vendor evalution. and kindly let know me that whether the functionalities of QM procurement (Checking receipt of certificate while posting MIGO) can be used in STO scenario similar to normal procurement scenarios,
Here, we are going for STO scenario of two step procedure with outbound delivery & billing.

The inspection type '08' is used for stock transfer order process.
In SAP standard you can't evaluate the supplying plant but external vendor only.
Also the functionalities of QM procurement can influece or control it when materials are procured from external suppliers.
If you want to use the functionalities of vendor evaluation and QM procurement, I would suggest you implement normal procurement process, not stock transfer process.

In standard inspection type field is ' Art ' . Check QALS table where you can find this field & if 03 inspection type is maintained it will store in qals table.

Vendor code in Stock Transfer Inspection Lot(08)

Hi Everybody,
I have noticed that when a Stock Transfer lot is created, the 'Data for lot orogin' tab in the Inspection Lot shows Vendor code in 'Data for goods receipt' section at times and at times Vendor code is not included in this section.
Please throw some light on the situations under which the vendor code is included and excluded.

I can't say for sure but I would compare the triggering document. I.e. Exactly what material movement is used in each case and what type of document triggered it, (I.e. an STO order). Than look at those documents and see if and why a vendor number is available.
