Stock Book Black

Hi
I'm trying to make an Aperture Book using the Stock Book Black Theme. I'm using the page layouts supplied, but when I Print to a PDF to preview it, all the white captions are cut off by a white margin around the edge of the document and therefore around the black background.
Can I rely on the Aperture view to ensure the real book page will be black from edge to edge?
Thanks
Lee

Thanks,
But a closer read of my original question would reveal that that is what I did.
The issue is that all looks fine on the Aperture Pages (in Aperture), but the PDF pages cut off the captions (included in the Aperture Theme) at the edges.
Which is 'correct'

  • Delete of plate caption in the Theme 'stock book black'

    Hi,
Have created a book with the 'Stock book black' Theme, is there any way I can get rid of all 'Plate Captions'? The reason is that 99% of the pictures have only photo number allocated and I don't want to have these numbers in my book
    Your help is appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Mark

Try this: Go to the gears icon -> SHOW MASTER PAGES -> Find the page type you don't want the Plate Captions on, and delete the Plate Captions objects. There is one under each picture block.
Alternately, in the Master Pages you could just try to set the default text color to black so the text is hidden.

  • Blotchyness in the stock book black.

I just got my first Aperture book, print quality is terrible. I chose the "stock book black" to work with and the blacks have blotches and banding. There is no way I can show this to a client, ever.
Also, the images are not sharp. I used the default sharpening, should I sharpen more for the books?
Who can I talk to about print quality? Anyone? Can I return this book?
I like working with my local lab, they have humans to talk to when something's wrong.
I'd like to book design function in aperture to have custom sizing and jpeg export. That way I can work with humans at my lab.

  • Stock book help needed - want to remove file names

Well, I'm trying to put together my first book from Aperture and chose the Stock theme for a book of family photos and I can't for the life of me figure out how to remove the file names which appear at the bottom of every image on the pages. Anyone able to point me in the right direction?

    Hello Tom,
There may be a quicker way, but if you just click on the "Edit layout" button (which is along the toolbar just to the right of the writing "stock book", it is the square with the dotted outline). Once you click on this, you can change all sorts of things, including the size of photo boxes and, if you just click on the file names, the filename text box will appear and you can then just hit delete.
    Hope this helps.
    Best regards

  • Mac Book (Black) and Final Cut 5.

I'm about to buy a Black Mac Book and am hearing conflicting reports. Will it run Final Cut 5 HD ?
Mac Book   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

i have fcp 5.1 running on my macbook 2.0 with 2 gigs of ram.
i am not sure all of the final cut studio apps will install in the mb, due to the graphics card. i did not try installing anything other than fcp, but it installed fine.
make sure you are running 5.1, as that is the universal version.

  • Clearing stock booked under MvT 501 and special stock indicator M

One of our logistics data entry book the stock under MvT 501 and by mistake set the special indicator to M. We never use and is something new to all of us.
I want to write off the stock and i am not allowed
What transaction i can use to move the stock to available stock?
In transaction LS24 i can see under field SS value M
    Thx

Hi I just checked these two links :
This below link you can see that there is no movement type for special stock M which can be used for our purpose  , :  : But Reversal 502 M will work

I thought if we can use scrapping movement 551 M to move this stock out , but again this is not supported ...
So based on all this information I can suggest two workarounds
    1. Cancel the initial MM document , using MIGO Cancellation or MBST
    2. Post a fresh 502 M for this material to post the stock out ...
You can do these postings in current period .

  • Creating manga comic book black background (help)

    hi all. new user here.
i have to create a 24 x 36 inch posterboard and i want to put /images/ "in" /cells/ like in a manga comic book. basically i want to have variously sized and variously proportioned WHITE AREAS (with a slightly rounded corners, not square) and then the area between these cells (for instance 1/8" spacing) to be all black.
then I would place images /behind/ the white rounded cells.
does that make sense? I have had success doing a normal board on an all white background (with some help) while using the demo of InDesign and I am wondering if anyone can help me get started with a description of how I might do this and some Adobe InDesign terminilogy that goes along with this so I can read up about the commands in the Help documentation.
thanks in advance for any help with this.

Your background is going to be an "unassigned" frame (drawn with the rectangle tool -- the one without the X in it). Do you understand bleed? As far as the fill color, that would depend on how this is going to be printed, and if there is other color on the page. It will look better as a "rich black" which is a four-color mix, but you pay more for four-color prints than just black and white. If you are using a rich black, the exact formula can vary widly depending on the printing method (and I would ask the printer for a recommendation), but a pretty "safe" mix would be 50c, 40m, 40y, 80k. You will want to put this on its own layer at the bottom of the stack and lock the layer to avoid inadvertently using the frame to hold something (see below). you can create this first, then make a new layer on top, or do it last and drag it to the bottom of the stack.
Your image frames are drawn with the frame tool (the one WITH the X) . You could create an Object Style for them that includes the corner effect to save time. Frames drawn with the frame tool do not respect stroke and fill settings, but one of the nice things about ID is that your unassigned frames can be used to hold text or graphics, so you can also add a fill color to the object style and use the Shape tool (the same one you use for the background) instead of the frame tool if you find you need the white fill. And yes, you can copy and paste these smaller frames, or add them to a library, or save some sizes as snippets in a folder to drag into your poster. You can save a "blank" poster (just the background and the empty "cells" as a template and use the same layout for as many posters as you like, too.
You will Place the images into the cells, unless you need to combine text and image (not already combined in the image) in the cell. For that you would place the image someplace convenient, like the pasteboard, and add text in a text frame or a text frame you've drawn to look like a speech baloon, then position the two as you want them relative to each other, select both, group, cut, select the cell frame, and "paste into."
You'll find the online help at http://help.adobe.com/en_US/indesign/cs/using/index.html
I also recommend you buy a copy of Sandee Cohen's Visual QuickStart Guide to InDesign since you seem to be a real beginner.

  • Stock booking for sales orders using APO gatp

    Hello Experts,
We are having similar case as YR, for which I'm searching for a solution. > (Putting this in a separate thread so that I can reward points)
We have certain sales orders (which are created on portal) for which we need to book stocks. These orders have different ord type. We want to give priority to these sales orders against existing/upcoming stocks. (For these orders, no customer master exists, kind of one-time).
Requirement is - Portal orders are placed according to the updated stock on portal (frequent run programs). But at the time of actual delivery creation, it happens that no stock available for the order and existing stock 'robbed' by other sales orders/deliveries meanwhile. We want to give 'portal orders' more priority than other normal orders/STOs.
We have receipt elements in Purchase orders only and no production orders. Also, portal orders are not subjected for gatp check, once the order is saved, a sales order is triggered & created in ECC (XI/PI) against dedicated Plants/Warehouses.
We have gatp and trying to find solution for it. Could you please guide how to book stocks for these 'priority orders' against existing unrestricted-use stock & against upcoming purchase orders?
    Thanks a lot!

    Hello Babu,
Thanks for your inputs. I would like to get into more details of what you mentioned about delivery priority. In my case, any customer places online order on webportal (based on current stock on portal which we frequently update through programs) and once the order is saved, a Sales order is created in ECC for a "one time customer" (there are hardly 2-3 customers for the e-orders), for which gatp check happens and stock is assigned as per availability and delivery date is assigned. So basically issues are
    1. Order in ECC should be placed with successful gatp check & confirmation - chances are of stealing stocks in between the 'time gap' of stock update on portal & order placing till order creation in ECC with gatp check >> for this we are working on stock update programs.
    2. Once delivery date is assigned to the order after successful gatp check, during the time of delivery creation, there are other STOs which steal stocks & create outbound deliveries before the portal order. Here we want to stop the 'robbing'.
So looking at this aspect, could you please elaborate the point of -
"Since you have a different sales document type, why don't you assign a higher delivery priority to these orders during ATP check ? You can influence the default delivery priority that comes from customer master to a very high delivery priority just before the ATP check ( use field catalogue user exit ) and pass the high delivery priority to APO"
And how can we use field cataloguser exit?
And ya, we may not need ROC, as there will be no one ready to 'Donate' But thanks for highlighting the option as well..
    Thanks

  • Mac book black screen

    Can't turn on my Macbook.
computer light is on but screen is black.
    Any fix?

I have the same problem, too.  I have a MBP 15" and all at a sudden, the screen randomly turns black or off.  I need to type my login password to get screen working again.  This is no danger but very incovenience to me.
However, once I had installed the latest OS X Mountain Lion operating system, this problem just disappeared and now I become a happy guy again loving my MPB 15"!!!  For USD20 only, it is worth a try!!!  Good luck!!!

  • How to disable motion detector in mac book black!

Hi there I recently changed the harddisc in my mbb 2008 model to a crucial ssd! I
understand it so that motiondetctor is no longer required  now?
I suspect it still interferes with my system as I notices lugging in webcams online  (pict freezes then continues) This did not occur before change...
Regards from Mbb SL owner  now with 256 gb SSD very smooth.

Just to make you comfortable, Bob isn't posting some "hack" for disabling the Sudden Motion Sensor.  Apple condones this method:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1934
However... this comment caught my attention:
This did not occur before change...
Regards from Mbb SL owner  now with 256 gb SSD very smooth.
I agree with shutting down the SMS if you have an SSD (there is no purpose for it).  However, if you were not experiencing stuttering in your video with your hard drive and the SMS enabled, I don't see why the SMS would be responsible for stuttering with your SSD.  For starters, the SMS should only be activating if you are moving your machine around.  If you are not moving it around and you are still experiencing stuttering, you may have a different problem.  While SSDs offer great performance when they work properly, different brands and models have had varying degrees of success in Macs (sometimes working in one model but not another... or sometimes even working in one model and not in another machine that is the same model).    Random "pauses" is one of the more common problems.   Let us know if disabling the SMS works for you.

  • How to handle irregular shaped newspaper clippings?

    Hi,
I am creating a book to re-construct (and adding and editing) an old scrapbook which contains irregularly spahed newspaperclipping. I have pages on which I would like to place just images clippings (any format .tiff, .jpeg, etc).
I have discovered that Aperture apparently does not handle transparent backgrounds and am looking for some suggestions on how to handle this. There have been a few posts in the forums about creating a image in Photoshop then using this as a background. This might work in some of the black themes like Stock Book Black (are the pages true black?). If I want to use one of the other themes like Journal or Photo Essay which allows for maps is there any way to match the page color surrounding the clippings to make it flow with the rest of the book? Are the RGB, CMYK, or HSB values that are published for these themes that I could mimic in a photo editor? Whould this work?
    Thanks.
    - Andrew

Try Gaussian Blur with a radius between 3and 6, or Lens Blur with a radius between 8 and 15 and blade curvature 100%.

  • Aperture Photobooks vs. iPhoto

Does Aperture provide more photo book options than iPhoto? Is there someplace where I can see a comparison?

    Michael
You can download the demo version and create a test book to see what is available as far as themes, etc. Aperture only offers 6 themes: Art Collection, Picture Book, Proof Book, Special Occasion, Stock Book and Stock Book Black. Pretty much geared to the professional photographer. The Special Occasion is the closest to a consumer type of book theme. Only
The book prices can be found here: http://www.apple.com/aperture/books/prices.html and are about the same for the same sized books thru iPhoto.
    Do you Twango?

  • Names under pics

Is there a way to keep the names from showing under the pics in a book when I place them or auto flow them?

    Harris Miller wrote:
I just tried a new book with another theme," photo book", & it did NOT happen. The theme it happened in was "stock book black". Do you know of a way to correct the problem?
Harris -- it's a feature, not a problem. The Theme you selected features metadata captions for images.
    You can:
    - Edit the Master Book Pages and then "Reapply Master" to each page you want to change
    - Select and remove whatever fields you want from your book pages
    - Change to another Theme
    - Create a book from scratch or from an existing Theme.

  • Change Book Cover layout

    Hi everyone,
Is there anyway to change the amount of images required on a cover. I am trying to use the stock colour black book and only want one image on the front cover but seem to be stuck with three.
For instance if i only place one image onto the cover page, will the two other boxes simply not be printed and if so is there anyway of changing the size of the one image?
Any ideas you have would be greatfully received.
    Many Thanx

Answered my own question after finding the edit layout button just above the pages column.
Sorry for the lack of ability!
