Stock Category Changes

Hi
In Decentralized Warehouse management system, can we use VLMOVE transaction to change stock categories from U/R to Quality or from Quality to Blocked and so on.
If yes, how will the stock category changes replicated in the inventory management in central erp.
If no, how should we do stock category changes in de-centralized WM without actual material movements.
Thanks & Regards,
Nadeem

Hi
Thank you for your reply.
I know about this process to initiate stock transfers in central ERP to do stock category changes via deliveries.
But what I want to know is whether I can use VLmove in the de-centralizred system to change the stock category.
Or is there any way that I initiate stock categoryu change in the de-centralized system and then the respective posting is done in central ERP.
Thanks & Regards,
DMNadeem.

  • Stock category change in WM

    Hi gurus,
How can I change the stock category from available to  block(S)  for a material (WM managed) without changing the storage type, bin number?
    Regards
    Rajib Pathak

    Hi,
You should trigger this transfer posting in MM (MB1B or MIGO). The move is seen as a virtual move in WM so the stock should stay in the source bin. A posting change notice should be generated from the IM movement and in turn, the TO can be created for the PCN. Here two line items should be generated. The first item posts from it's current position to 922 (normally bin TR-ZONE) and the second line item posts from this 922 location back to the original bin. The second line item will also hold the change of stock category. If this is not happening, please check the movement type in WM config. It should have the source and destination defined as 922 TR-ZONE (for example) and it should have a shipment type of 'U' for posting change.
    Hope this helps. Regards,

  • Cross Docking for stock category Q (inspection stock)

    Hello everyone,
My client uses cross docking in 4.7 release and recently a requirement came up where they wanna be able to cross dock stock received from production while the User Decision from QM is still pending.
I have tried to walkthrough the code behind planned/opp cross docking and realised that only available stock is taken into consideration.
I d be really grateful if anyone could suggest how to best approach and tackle this issue? Please consider that the quant should not lose the inspection lot number so that once UD is given, the stock category changes automatically.
    Thank you
    Kind Regards

Yes it is possible. In the IM/WM interface tables, in the second table, you can vary the process according to stock status. See the third column.
LogisticsExecution \ Warehouse Management \ Interfaces \ Inventory Management \ Define Movement Type
Following is the config. help text for the field
Special Stock Indicators for Whse Mgmt
    Use
In the Materials Management system you can post different transactions using one movement type.  For example, posting goods receipt to unallocated stock or goods receipt to
    stock in quality inspection.
These transactions are treated differently by the system on the basis of this indicator.  Together with other indicators of a movement type in the Materials Management system, this indicator is used to correctly allocate a movement type in the Warehouse Management system so that the transaction can be posted accordingly.

  • How to change stock category of handling units at mass level without Development

    Hi,
We have hundreds of handling units with stock category "blank" in our returned stock storage location which is HU managed. MMBE shows different
value in Return stock  what  we see in HUMO is  only One HU with very less qty. visible with stock category "R".inventory stock is different than the
          HU  stock visible in HUMO
can some one help in explaining how can we change the stock category of HU's from Blank to R. is there any standard process offered by Sap.
Development of program to get it done is out of scope right now
         Thanks,

i am struggling to figure this out too.right now we if i look into MMBE i see the returned stock
value.but HUMO does not show any handling units with stock category R when searched
though Storage location is HU managed.i suspect user has done GR without delivery which cause the dependency.

  • Create Stock Category

How can I create a new stock category?
Right now we have 4 separate categories....
    1 - First
    2 - Second
    C - Closeouts
    S - Samples
Where in SAP can I create a NEW category?  (example: "3 - Third")

Yes I have, I've created multiple characteristics using the "Chars Group" "AFS characteristics for categories" under the Basic Data section of the Basic Data tab.
Unfortunately, none of them show up under Category Structures or Coverage Strategies in SPRO.
How exactly do I edit the settings of a coverage strategy in SPRO?  There does not appear to be any options availbale when a coverage strategy is selected.  Is this something that is taken care of under CT04?  Or am I not understanding how a coverage strategy works?  What is the difference between a Characteristic and a Catagory Structure and how can I edit or change the settings of a catagory structure?

  • Re-configure 'Stock Category' in the Warehouse Management system

    Hi Gurus,
As we all know, it is possible to see which batch/material is in blocked status because the system highlights it with stock category indicator "<b>S</b>". With this, I would just like to know if it is feasible to modify the configuration in the system so that it assigns the Stock Category (labelled as '<i>C</i>' in transaction LS26) as follows:
            <b>S</b> : blocked without a usage decision
<b>R</b> : batches which are blocked because they were rejected (there was actually a usage decision)
Please let me know your thoughts regarding this matter.
Hope you can help me on this one. Thanks in advance.

    Hello Francis,
I think it is not good idea to change the standard SAP settings becuase we are not sure where our changes will impact. However, the SAP system is behaving in the same way you want, the only thing is you need to do relevent transaction at inventory level and subsequently carry out posting change in Warehouse System.
Quality stock with stock indiacator 'Q'
Blocked stock with Stock indicator 'S'
Return stock with stock indicator 'R'
    Hope this helps.

  • Issue in stock category

    hi,
i am posting gr.po in migo for x- material as 10 quantity then TR is created automatically with stock category as "Q" after quality inspection once i put TO for that material the stock category as "Q" not as available stock . my requirement is whenever goods came it moved to qc then only it moved to warehouse. how to achive this flow.......because once i put gr the transfer requirement is created with stock category as "Q'. so if i proceed  this TO created with Q category.

as per suggestion first one  soution i go for manual TR its working fine but one more issue arises. when i post gr/po in migo the stock  get increased in warehouse as stock category as 'q' with +ve quantity and _ve quantity looking for posting change TO and then i put manual TR -TO-confirmation  for purchase order stock moved destination bin  with stock category as unrestricted stock, but my problem is  stock in posting change quantity still there.
my requirment is once i post gr the stock never get updated in wm level. once i put manual tr-to  then only it should updated.....other wise two stock are updated one for manual TR and another for migo posting(waiting for posting change in interim area  with -ve and +ve quantity values)....how to avoid that....kindly explain..........

  • Date of the Stock 'Category :CC'

    Hi,
When a stock (Category: CC) is transferred from R/3 to APO , I can view the  stock quantity with the current date in the IO_TIME field in the product view. But suddenly I noticed for all the product location the date has changed to 01.01.1970. I don't understand y its happening? Is there any settings to be maintained for this?
    Please clarify.
    Thanks,
    Siva.

    Hi Siva.
That is the default date for CC. In effect the beginning of time as far as apo is concerned as there is no relevance of the date for stock.
    Hope this helps

  • Inv. Consign. - Stock category K  is not permitted for general stock search

    Hi,
    IS-Retail ECC 6.0
Unable to select another vendor consignment inventory for the same article at TO creation. Get the following message:
+Stock category K  is not permitted for general stock search+
    +Message no. L3727+
    +Diagnosis+
+You have entered a stock category (special stock indicator and special stock number) during transfer order creation that is not permitted by general stock determination.+
    +Example:+
+General stock determination only allows you to enter stock categories 'own stock' and 'consignment stock' of vendor 6411. You cannot enter special stock 'K' and special stock of (vendor) 6512+.
Not using batch management but already applied OSS note1034907 - Picking consignment stock in Warehouse Management without success.
    Any idea?
    Thanks
    Gaetan

There is the response back from SAP on the subject. We also faced the situation where the stock determination was done but we had no stock available for the first sorted stock in this case our own stock. We have than created a user exit to take out any 0 line item from the sort to bypass this problem and get the next stock vendor available . Hope that will help.
    Gaetan
In the retail consignment processing the stock split is excluded during
stock determination. That means, you have to set the stock split to 1.
In your case, if you check the customizing settings of the stock
    determination for
    - site 1100,
    - stock determination rule Z001 and
    - stock determination groupe Z001,
the stock split or the number of splits is 002. But, this is not
possible in coherence with the retail consignment processing and the
creation of a TO. We will prevent such a scenario also in the coding.
Therefore you are not able to select another vendor for consignment. In
this case you have to change/adjust your customizing settings for stock
determination. Please check also the usage of an alternate stock
    determination rule.
For further information, please check/compare also the documentation.
    Customizing documentation:
When stock determination is activated, the stock split is excluded
during stock determination, which means you have to set the stock
    split to 1.
    Documentation in the Help Portal:
    * It is not possible to make a partial delivery of a delivery item
from both consignment stock and a company's own stock. Nor can you
deliver an item from the consignment stock of serveral special stock
    managers.
That means, please check/adjust your customizing settings for the stock
    determination.

  • Made a UD to 'Scrap'. But Stock Category is "Q" and does not show in MMBE "Blocked"..WHY?

    Hi,
I made a UD of an Insp Lot to 'Scrap' in the Inspection lot stock tab.
The system automatically created a material document with movement type 553 (Direction -) and 551 (Direction +)
However the stock Category in the material document is "Q". IS THIS CORRECT? SHOULD THIS BE "S" (This is in the WM tab of the material document).
Also when I query MMBE after the above UD to Scrap, the batch quantity is not shown either in Quality or Blocked stock. IS THIS CORRECT?
    Please advise.
    Regards
    Priyanka

My understanding was when I input a quantity in 'Scrap' field during UD
    1) The stock should be blocked (hence it will show under blocked stock column in MMBE)
    2) The stock category should be "S" and not "Q"
I agree that in MMBE based on your explanation the stock should not be shown in blocked.
But can you explain why the stock category is "Q" instead of "S"
    Regards
    Priyanka

  • Pur Grp and product category changes made in R3E not reflecting back to SRM

Need to investigate why changes made to Purchase Requisitions in SAP R/3 (Purchasing Group & product category) doesn't feed back to SRM.
Purchasing Group and product category changes made in R3E do not reflect back in SRM.

    Hi Sanjay,
You should also schedule report BBP_GET_STATUS_2 (updating requirement coverage
requests) to run in the Enterprise Buyer system, so that information on the status of purchase
requisitions, purchase orders, and reservations is up-to-date.
    I hope,this helps.

  • Outbound interface - device modification/reversal & device category change.

    Hi Friends,
I have a requirement to trigger an outbound interface in the event of device modification/reversal and device category change.I couldn't find any event which gets triggered upon device modification and reversal. There are 2 user exits - call customer '001' and call customer '002' provided by SAP.However, both these exits do not get triggered on device modification. For reversal, there is no exit provided by SAP.I have actually written a code within if....endif..statement in the Zinclude and had put a breakpoint in the Z include of both the device modification exits.None seem to work.
Similarly there are no events/exits/BAdI's for device category change.I need to trigger the same outbound interface upon device category change.
This brings me to the conclusion that there is no standard way to do an activity upon completion of device modification/reversal and device category change. There are no BAdI's as well.Change pointer activation could be one of the solution.Could you please suggest an alternative solution.
    Many thanks,
    Raj

    Hi Raj,
Please check if the default BAdI interface IF_EX_ISU_IDE_DATEXCONNECT is triggered during device modifications / removal.
Use the method IF_EX_ISU_IDE_DATEXCONNECT~DATEXCONNECT_BILLINGINST_CHNG to see if you can make use of it.
    Thanks,

  • How to use Stock Category Group for two different configuration.

    Hi all,
I want to use the stock category group to do this scenario:
I have two process using the same location, the process A wants to consider Stock cat. Grp. 'ZSW' (SAPAPO/LOC3) so it will consider Stock using CC, CF and CE. The process B wants to consider Stock Cat. Grp. 'ZST' to consider only CC.
    My doubt:
How can I do that setup to make different things according the process? I tried to do something in Planning Area (SAPAPO/MSDP_ADMIN) but doesnu2019t work.
    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks,
    -Ralph Veiga

    Hi Ralph Veiga,
Indeed the stock category group is define at location level...
I think your answer involves macros more than PA settings.
First I will suggest to split the stock key figure into 2: one for CC, one for the other.
For the CC, use the standard (cetegory group with CC only on the location master)
Now you need to populate the second key figure with CF and CE.
You should be able to built a macro using function PHYSICAL_STOCK() to get what you want.
For sure yuo first need a way to check if you want or not the CF and CE. Here implement your own logic for exemple base on your product characteristics with either MAT(), MAT_C(), MAT_EXTRA(), MATLOC_C()...
Else you can use a Z function in the macro to collect this data, but it involves ABAP coding.
PS: you don't actually need to split the key figure into to, but I think it helps with visibility...
    Regards
    Julien
