  • Initial entry stock (561) is valuated for non-valuated material

    Hi Gurus,
I am doing initial entry of stock balance (MvT 561) for several non-valuated material. But when I check the table MSEG, I got status of "X" in the field MSEG-WERTU, which mean the material is valuated. The consequence is the value is updated, so I get inconsistency in stock (stock value is updated, table MBEW)
So how can I can get valuated when I done my first initial entry of stock balance for non-valuated material?
How can I trace, where did I go wrong?
    I have checked these:
    - I checked the material type, and it is properly configured (quantity update only).
    - No changes have been made in the material type.
    - No changes have been made in the material master data.
    Please help, and thanks!

  • STOCK AND NON STOCK ITEMS

    hi,
Here i want to know the difference between stock and non stock items.and give detail process flow for procuring both Non stock as well as stock items .

    Dear Harshad,
Stock Items are the item for which we maintain stock in the system normally at various level which means the stock quantity gets updated in the system based on the movement done for that item
For ex if we make GR for 100 Qty of X item then its stock qty  gets added into the system may be at plant /storage location level.Suppose out of this 100 nos if we issue 50 nos for production line then the stock at store reduces by 50 nos & added to production cost center by 50 nos.
Non stock material : NLAG: It stands for Non stock material
In customizing for basic setting in material type neither Qty update or Value update. No accounting data is maintained in Material master hence stock values are not updated. This material is procured only with account assignment.
In this case as soon as material is received Qty & value is posted to consumption account & statistic gets updated.
No updation of Qty or value takes place in Material master record.
For examle if we procure milk for canteen , its goes directly in canteen & stock of such items are not maintained
I hope this will clarify your concepts,
    Vivek

  • Subcontract PO/PR does not generate PR for non stock component

    Hello,
I need help on above topic.
SAP Version is ERP Central Component 5.0.
My problem is that PR is not being generated for non stock component in PR/PO of higher/parent material.
I notice that in component overview screen the item cat for this non stk comp. has changed to T( text item) even though the BOm has been maintained with item cat as N( non stock). The material type being used for non stk material is custom developed(copy of NLAG).
Has anyone faced similar issue. or can suggest some missing customization (if any)
    Just to confirm :
I have done customising for Direct procurement in OPPQ to trigger PR  in requirements planning. Also tried with prod order creation option(though my case is PO creation)
Any help from forum is highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ram

    Hi ,
Commitement check is taking place due to availability control. If u dont want to carry out AVAC for PR then in Tolerance limit put the exclude the check for PR.
SPRO > PS > Budget > define tolerence limit > here u might selected ++ i.e. for all activity type. U select indidula transaction grp excluding PR.

  • Non Stock Item in Component MO to plan costs

    Dear all,
Currently we have a problem regarding the display of plan costs in Maintenance Orders (MO).
We will be using the non stock item in the component part of the MO.
These non stock items will be maintained with standard setting.
The problem is that these non stock items costs are not shown in the display of costs in MO.
We have checked the plan costing variant for the MO, and nothing seems to be wrong.
One thing to note though, the actual costs when the PO is GR-ed are shown in the correct value category.
Please kindly suggest me on where to check on this matter.
Thank you very much in advance

  • Non-Stock Sales - Cost Value Issue

    HI Experts,
Currently we implemented a Non-Stock Sales for a certain Sales Organization, however during the creation of the Invoice, the Cost of Material is calculated automatically. But the users doesn't want this. How can I change the configuration where the cost is not calculated for their Materials in the Sales Orders.
    Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the answers. And it is now working. Cost is now not calculated in the displayed invocie for the Item Category as tested in QAS.
However, just one question. Even though the Cost Value is not initial as displayed in the Invoice, are the Materials Cost still valuated for this eventhough there are no Material Postings done (because of non-stock)? Is this considered as a non-valuated sales item? I can only confirm in COPA Report that COS has the cost value from the Invoice for non-stock sales. But I cannot see any document in the Sales History that includes the cost of the material.
    Thanks again!

  • Account assignment for Non valuated Material

    Dear All,
Please guide how to create PR & PO for non valuated material.
    Regards,
    Manish Jain

    HI,
    Non-valuated material (Material Type UNBW):
This type of material is managed on a quantity basis, but not on a value basis. This makes sense for materials of low value, stocks of which nevertheless have to be monitored (for example, operating manuals).
    Non-valuated goods receipt
At the time of the goods receipt, postings to the consumption account do not take place. The posting to the GR/IR clearing account is therefore not applicable. With invoice receipt, the consumption account is debited with the invoice amount. The offsetting entry is posted to the vendor account.

Its upto you if you want maintain material master record or not for non valuated material. With material master you have a material code to input in the field of PO, without material master you put in short text.

  • PP-MM-FI integration for Non-Stock material consumption

The client is expecting a simple solution for a Std SAP process which is LIKE subcontracting....but actually not.
The requirement is to set up a process of external operations using a NonStock (NLAG) material ( which will have no physical stock updation when GR is done). This material is a part of BOM with item category N. The material will have S price control. ( Must from business requirements). PR gets created from process order --> converted to PO --> then 101 and simultaneous automatic consumption gets debited to order. (with a price = PO price). PO has a account assignment F and item category blank Standard).
Question - This behaviour is not desired. The "Std cost" should be used in posting a consumption posting..& the rest ( PO price less Std price) should be shown as purchase price variance in a different acount. How to customise this break up ? Is there way in MM pricing conditions or something else ?.
Pl note that there is no stock entry...only consumption will be debited with GR offset at PO price. Also at invoice verification, the price if different should be posted to price difference account ( which is not assigned to process order...it is directly going to COPA).
Might be a very simple SAP solutions / answers from MM /PP......so that we avoid the ABAP development for reposting..
    Could somebody help pls ?
    Regards
    Ram

    Hi,
Since Material is Non-Stock Material so it is must to maintain the Account Assignment Category in PR or PO for this Material. And once you maintain the Account Assignment Category in PO and do GR w.r.t. this PO then it will not consider the Material Master Price (Standard Price) since there is not any Stock Account Entry during GR, it will hit the Expense Account. And Price Difference Account will get debited only if Stock Account will come in picture.
    So following Accounting Entry will get generated;
    During GR (MIGO);
    Expense Account - Dr
    GR/IR Clearing A/c - Cr
    During LIV (MIRO);
    Vendor Account - Cr
    GR/IR Clearing A/c - Dr

  • Stock but non-valuated material with FOC flag in PO but system asking for..

    Dear all,
We have create a new material type which is stock but non-valuated material masters which measn in the "Qty Updating" checkbox is checked, while the "value updating" checkbox is unchecked.
Our process is when we create PO of this item, we will flag the "FOC" checkbox in the PO line item in ME21N.
However, when I perform the above step, i hits the following error message:
Account assignment mandatory for material 40000010 (enter acc. ***. cat.)
    Message no. ME062
    Diagnosis
There is no provision for value-based inventory management for this material type in this plant. Account assignment is thus necessary.
    Procedure
Please enter an account assignment category.
Question, why system still want me to key in an account assignment category and with GL and cost center? this is suppose to be a Free of Charge item with the above setup and procedure?
    Please advise.
    Thanks.
    Tuffy

    Hello Kate,
Our goal is the user does not need to key in any GL account and cost center as it is FREE. which is why we have a customized material type solely for material like this (see my previous writing).
Does it means, I need to create an customized account assignment category with consumption posting using "V", and checked the Goods receipt checkbox, and checked the GR Non-Valuated checkbox ?
    thanks.

  • How to issue the non stock material to the customer place through delivery?

    Dear All,
I have created a service order with one operation, and for executing the operation i need one spares material which should be sent to the customer place. So i put that as non stock item in the line item of the order.
Result : It Creates PR with account assignment and with reference to the PR i craeate a PO with the same account assignment order.
Now when i take MIGO against the PO,it is directly consumed to the order, wherein i have to send that material to the customer place and then consume.
How can i handle this process.
    Regards,

    Hi,
The material which u sending to Customer place mark those item as return in Purchase order and then do Goods movement by 161. If that material is non val. then No Accounting will generate.
