Stock widget bug shows Google down -1182 or -74%

I am unsure whether the problem is with yahoo giving apple bogus numbers or whether it is a flaw in the stock widget - doesn't really matter to me.
Problem is. Google stock is listed as down -1179 dollars.. it is the only stock listed with such a number in my widget; yesterday it was down 50 dollars after closing, however CNBC said this was a technical glitch and was fixed.. but today it is worse and probably not caused by the same problem, as yahoo lists the right price. I tried removing the stock and re-adding it, but the same number shows up. If you want screenshot I will be glad to send.

Thanks bee. However that was the one i was referring to being highlighted on CNBC news, but the day after the stock widget showed it down 1182 dollars.. so two separate events. Now it's back functioning normally so everything seems ok, will see when trading starts. It made a good screenshot though.

Weather widget bug? - dont show my city

After upgrade from 10.5.8 to 10.6.0 (and 10.6.3) weather widget dont show my city - Radom, Poland(Mazowieckie).
My city is not small (over 250.000 people). Widget show smalest cites around my location, but Radom no.

Only certain more major cities are listed. You need to find a major city near your's, and listed in the widget's list, and use their weather lisitng. Obviously not ALL cities are listed.

Yahoo Finance stock widget stopped working

I am using the Yahoo Finance stock widget on Dashboard that comes with OS X on both a MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion and an iMac running Lion. In the last few days, both of them stopped retrieving data. For years I have added my own mutual fund symbols to the widget to track my funds, and they have worked fine. Just to see if it made a difference, I removed my fund symbols, and suddenly the widget works again with the default stocks and indices that the widget comes with, on both of my machines.
I don't know what the issue is, but I was curious if anyone knows what is causing this. BTW, I already started using the Fidelity stock widget that is on the Apple widget site. The Fidelity widget works fine on both my machines.

When I've had problems with widgets I was able to fix them by deleting the .plist for the particular widget.
Either hold down the option key and select your user Library in your home folder or use the Finder “Go To Folder” command and enter ~/Library/Preferences. Near the bottom of Preferences are the widget .plists widget-com.apple.widget.widget name. You can move the .plist to your desktop and test. If okay delete the old .plist.
If you prefer to make your user library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.
Show User Library
You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after I installed 10.8.4. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.

IOS 8 stock widget collapsing

Hi all,
i was wondering if anyone else was having a problem with the stock widget collapsing while looking at it. It seems to be an issue with refreshing. I feel like the widgets flicker when they refresh and then the original view is restored to the widget rather than maintaining the current view. Are others experiencing this? The Mobile Mouse Pro widget also flickers a lot, it's functional I guess, just unattractive. omnifocus' widget doesn't flicker. Is there anything that can be done about this?

Slide the notifications window down. Today>>At the bottom of the window EDIT. Activate/deactivate what you want to show/not show.

Anybody else also suspects the stock widget to mess up the display driver ?

i've had many occasions where the first time i try to bring up the widget screen, it comes up, then immediately disappears. second time, it works. also, i noticed while in regular screen mode, some remainder of some other app (didn't know which one) showing up when I would hover over a certain location on my screen with my mouse. i now figured it out, and this turns out to be the stock widget. i removed it. stocks are down and the widget ***** !

Maybe you dont read this but in my opinion you should preinstall your unit with original recovery media. I have noticed that many different things can have some negative influence on some strange issues like yours. It is not easy to find a proper solution.
In my opinion everything you have done is right but if there is no success backup your data and reinstall the unit. On this way OS will be clean preinstalled and I am 100% sure that everything will work again.
If the same issue occur after reinstallation than . Something is wrong there.

Stocks widget not working

Just changed Macs and to Lion 10.7.2. The stocks widget in the dashboard seems really buggy. One time after I entered various ETFs they would just disappear on a subsequent launch and the default Apple , Google , Amazon would reappear as well as the usual S&P 500, DJA, etc... Also, When I try to change the chart from 1 day / 1 week/ 3 months, etc. it just shows the same 6 month chart. Anybody else experiencing this issue?

If it is the Apple provided widget, Yahoo! Finance, there have been a rash of problems lately - see the More Like This box at the top right.
1. If you have any mutual funds loaded, try removing them.
2. Try opening a 2nd copy of the widget. That has worked for me a couple of times.
3. If you have a backup, try restoring the widget. It is normally in the hard drive/Library. It might be in your user folder/Libary also. See below on how to access your user library.
4. Try removing the com.apple.dashboard.plist in your user folder.
You need to look in your user Library/Preferences for the .plist. Either hold down the option key while using the Finder “Go To Folder” command and select your user Library in your home folder or use the Finder “Go To Folder” command and enter ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dashboard.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Log out/in and test. If it works okay, delete the plist(s) from the desktop.
If the same, return the .plist(s) to where you got them from, overwriting the newer ones.
If you prefer to make your user library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.

Coreapplication shows as down in OEM, but all components are up

Hi,.
Just upgraded from 11.1.1.5 to 11.1.1.6.2. All went fine and everything running. Also upgraded WLS from 10.3.5 to 10.3.6
Yet the core application shows as down in OEM although system status reads All components are available
weird .....
diagnostic logs show failed to get status for java components so looks like the console isnt communicating with opmn correctly? Not sure. Everything is running out of the same box except the database.
admin server log presents:
Failed to get status of all of OPMN components for one or more Oracle Instances of BI instance: coreapplication
Any bright ideas please ping them this way!

I am in need of a weather and stock widget, similiar to the ones on the iphone 4s, that allow you to display current stocks and weather in the notification window but i need it for the ipad2.

the iphone 4s came with a weather and a stock widget. these could be configured in notifications to CONSTANTLY display stock prices and the days weather whenever you pulled down the notification window. the ipad2 doesn't have these programs and i have spend a small fortune and time looking for this same feature. does anyone out there know off a weather and stock program that will let you program stocks into the notification window and then stream the stocks and prices acrossthe screen continously when you open the notification window. Also does anyone know of a weather program that will display the days current conditions ALL THE TIME, not just when the wind picks up or it snows.
the ipad2 doesn't have these built in programs and i can't find similiar ones in the app store.

Calendar widget bug

I'm experiencing a bug with the Calendar widget.
If I have an event that goes from the morning to the afternoon, like from 11:30am to 12:30pm, the widget will show 11:30am to 12:30am.
Also, if I have an event that goes from 8am to 3pm the day after, the widget shows that the event goes from 8am to 3am.
This is very frustrating on confusing.
It should be an esay fix.

What exactly causes that bug? I ask because I tried for at least 15 minutes to recreate it now and I didn't manage once. Probably something wrong with your phone. i realized that when you go back to your home screen the play button is lit up and the skip buttons are dim even when playing music.
On my phone when it's playing the play buttons turns to a pause button and the skip buttons light up. Was your phone always like this? If I knew how to make that happen I could help you pin point what's causing it.

Dashboard Stock Widget graphs affected by DST

I noticed this problem last year, but didn't really put two and two together until recently...
All the daily graphs for the stock exchange on Apple's default Stocks widget are correct during daylight saving time, but when on standard time during the winter, the graph has a straight line for the first hour and the last hour is cutoff, indicating that the open/close time is not being correctly shifted with the time change.
Is this something that could be fixed via Software update? Or am I gonna have to barge my way into the file and figure out the javascript causing this problem?

It might get fixed in time for DST next year.
Editing the .js is probably the easiest way to fix it. There are some comments there to help.

Dashboard stock widget

I cannot add a new stock to the stock widget. I keep getting "failed to validate symbol". I have added symbols before, although it was months ago, and in fact had three of them on the widget before removing them. I even tried adding back the ones that were already working.
To fix the problem I have tried the following:
Restarted the computer.
Turned the computer off and then back on.
Taken the stock widget off the desktop, restarted the computer, and added it back.
Trashed the dashboard file in preferences and restarted the computer.
None of these things work; please help.

The oemd_oms_csa_collector target is showing as down.
Yes I know its bug fixed in the next patch. Has anyone attempted to remove the target, edit the targets.xml to stop it showing up?
