Stolen Blackberry - email?

My old Blackberry was stolen, but I deactivated the old SIM card and made a duplicate of it, with my carrier. I bought a new Blackberry as a replacement but I can't seem to set up the personal email account with it as the option for it doesn't appear.
My previous Blackberry was already set up with the email and everything, so is there a way to deactivate the previous one, and set it up on the new phone?
Edit: My other problem is that my previous phone was a Bold 9700 and now I got a Curve 8520 to replace it. Can someone walk me through the entire setup, because I'm having a lot of problems here as well? I've resent the activation code for the data plan but according to the carrier, I've already been activated for the data plan. However, the AppWorld doesn't appear on the home screen (although it's listed under Applications<Options). And also, I can't setup email.

Hiya!
Well the good news is, the old one was already deactivated!!
Its a security feature in the BIS network. Once the sim is placed in the new device, it invalidates the email so delivery stops.
There are a few ways to change this.
You can do this on your carriers BIS website. (I'm with rogers so mine is rogers.blackberry.com)
there you can click "change device" under settings and it will auto-detect the new phone IMEI and PIN.
If that doesnt work. Your carrier can manually do this.

No, you cannot trace it via the IMEI, but your mobile provider might be able to do so, most often they will not unless you have a police report asking them to do so.

  • How Do You Use Your Blackberry--Email

    Hi, all,
Being a Blackberry aficionado, I find all of the different things your Blackberry can do for you amazing.  One of the best features of all Blackberry devices is email.  With your email pushed directly to your device, you don't have to be near your computer to send and recieve email.  With the Blackberry, you can add up to 11 email addresses, including 10 supported email accounts and one BlackBerry email account that comes with your device.
My question to you is this:  How many email accounts do you have on your Blackberry device?
I will start by telling you that I have 6 email accounts on my device.
    Thanks for sharing...
    Doc

Hi - I have 4 at the moment:
BB  (which I don't use, but set up because it comes with.....)
Gmail (which is actually receiving gmail + 4 more linked to the gmail account)
    AOL (personal, family)
Treasurer email for a scout troop
I have my business email funneled through Gmail at the moment, with folders (err, labels) set up to sort it all out for me - if I split the business email off and set it up separately on the BB, I would then get duplicates of all of those. And if I take the business OFF the gmail grab list, I'd have to re-set up all the folders and such . . . and I like the way gmail handles things. The only pitfall is I can't RESPOND to the business emails from the business email address unless it is set up on the device - any reply I make comes from Gmail.
Any of you BB gurus have a workaround to keep my business email funneled through gmail , yet be able to reply to emails on the BB with the business address? Within gmail, you can choose which of the linked emails you want it to send from, but I haven't been able to manage that from the BB.
....Still learning new things every day!!

  • Reloading BlackBerry Email Setup Application

    Hi,
I accidentally deleted the Blackberry Email Setup application in my BB Torch 9800. Accordingly, I cannot  setup any email accounts on my BB.
Does anybody know how I can reinstall this application so that I can setup my email accounts on my BB?
    Thank you,

I don't want to step on Boomer56's toes, but you've been without a response for six hours so I'll take a shot at it.
If you plug your phone into your PC and open Desktop Manager, you can reload your current OS from there.  First, open Desktop Manager and do a data backup of your phone.  Once that's complete, click Device at the top of DM and Update from the drop-down menu.  You might be told that your phone is up to date.  At the bottom of that box, it'll show Show Other Versions.  Click that and make sure your current version is the one that's checked.  Keep it checked and click Update.  This will re-install your current OS, along with all the bells and whistles it came with.
    - If my response has helped you, please click "Options" beside my post and mark it as solved. Clicking the "thumbs up" icon near the bottom of my response would also be appreciated.

  • Can't add blackberry email address

I got a device update from Verizon that wiped out my email accounts.  I couldn't add the blackberry email address associated with my device back to the phone because I don't know the password.  I created a new blackberry email address, but when I try to get updated in AppWorld it still wants the password from the old address.  When I request a password reset it sends the information to the old email address which I can't access because I don't know the password.
Does anyone know how to change the email address associated with my device OR how to have the password reset info sent to a different email address?

You didn't say, but are you ACTUALLY trying to enter the BlackBerryID on your device?
Read this for instructions to reset your BlackBerryID password:
KB26361How to reset a BlackBerry ID password
Is that what you need... or is this for an actual BlackBerry email address, such as "[email protected]"?

As far as I've ever been able to determine, no...BB email is only viewable on the BB device.

    First, refer:
Article ID: KB33260 BlackBerry (hosted) email address forwarding for BlackBerry 10 OS
If you are unable to activate the forwarding, then contact your mobile service provider as they manage that email account for you.
