Stolen iPad is off and password protected.

My iPad was stolen and is password protected. Is there a way I can remotely turn it on. Find my iPad won't work if it is not connected to a wifi or 3G network. I figure someone out there has figured this out.  If you can remotely turn it off, someone must have figured out how to remotely turn it on.

Yes, it can easily be restored without someone knowing the screenlock passcode.
Sorry, but there is no way to turn on an iPad remotely. If it's just asleep, you can if you have access to another iOS device such as an iPhone try sending an email, iMessage or Facetime request and perhaps you could hear the announcement of the message and locate it that way. But if it's off, or not connected to a WiFi 3G network, there's nothing you can do.
Regards.

I have created a PDF and password protected it for view. However, when reading the PDF in Adobe Reader app on the iPad the commenting and annotation options are not available. Is there a way to allow commenting and annotation in the app while password protecting the document?

Is there a setting that needs to be set to allow the annotation features?  I set password protection to open and then password for editing and set it to Any except page extraction, but it still did not give the annotation option

Having AppleTV remember the password is optional.
Logout of iTunes store, log back in and hopefully next time you come to purchase you'll be prompted for your password but decline the option to remember it.  You might also want to look out of parental controls on the unit.

    Hello jenremter,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
If you are trying to restore your iPad, I would suggest placing your iPad in recovery mode manually and attempting the restore. Please follow the instructions in the attached article to complete this process.

  • Is it possible to lock a layer within a document and password protect that specific layer?

Is it possible to lock a layer within a document and password protect that specific layer?

As stated, no way to do exactly what you want, but an option might be to turn OFF Visibility for that Layer, if you do not want it seen, and then Flatten, and do a Save_As.
If you do want that Layer seen, but not able to be edited, then Flatten, with Visibility ON, and Save_As.
The question is, do you want the recipient to see that Layer, or not?
Next, Do they need to be able to edit all other Layers, but just not that one?
Last, what type of Layer is it?
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • How do i personalize it and password protect it?

My internet works, I was trying to set up my new airport extreme and my computer froze in the process and now it works but the light blinks amber and its an open network connection that anyone can connect to.  I tried a factory reset, but it won't go back to the easy setup process like the first time.  It just opens and my computer connects.  Any thoughts for how to rename the network and password protect it?

To rename the Network Name: AirPort Utility > Select the AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) > Manual Setup > AirPort > Wireless tab > Wireless Network Name
To enable wireless security: AirPort Utility > Select the AEBS > Manual Setup > AirPort > Wireless tab > Wireless Security. I would recommend using "WPA2 Personal" for the security type.

  • My ipad is off and on by itself...

my ipad is off and on by itself...

I have had exactly the same problem now with two mini iPads.  Everything was tried; 1) restarting; 2) restoring factory settings etc.  NONE worked.  Eventually Apple agreed to replace it.  I have had the replacement now for two to three months and exactly the same thing is happening again. So off to Apple tomorrow to get another replacement.
I am quite a heavy user of the iPad so wonder if this is something to do with the fault.
It is so frustrating as sometimes reset works, and then after 10/20/30/40 minutes (you pick) it goes unstable again.

  • Stolen Itouch and password protection

My Itouch was stolen today. I had it password protected. Can the thief access it any other way? I hope not. At least I get the satisfaction of knowing they can't use it!

If you were accessing email on the iPT, I would change the password to that account immediately.
Sorry to pop your bubble, but even though the thief can't access the iPT in its current state, they could restore it to factory settings...

  • HT5622 I cannot get my new Apple ID to show up on iCloud!  I've signed out and back in using the new id and even turned my iPad completely off and on.  Nothing works.  Help!

I cannot get my newly changed Apple ID to change in I cloud on my iPad.  I have signed out and back in with my new id and have turned off my iPad completely and back on....it's still showing up with the old user name in iCloud.  Help!

Go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • Stolen iPad was wiped and erased/synched my exchange calendar. I have recovered some of the calendar entries through the outlook web app, but only entries made in the last 15 or so days. Any ideas on how to recover the rest?

My ipad was stolen over the weekend and i immediately contacted apple to do a data-wipe.
On wednesday, the ipad was apparently wiped and then decided to sync with all of my other systems. It's been two days and I just figured out how to access and recover deleted items from the Outlook Web App from my exchange host.
They were scattered throughout and sorted by the date they were added to the calendar so some things are still missing. Anyone know how to restore what i'm still missing?
