Stolen iPad (WiFi 1st Gen)

My iPad (1st Gen WiFi) has been stolen. There was no password (how irresponsible of me) and I have no other Apple device to help me try retrieve it via some App. I have no expectation of finding it but please is there a way to erase the stored data remotely and unlink it from my Apple Account? Thanks!

I'm going to guess videos buffer for a while also...
Two possibilities, one is you should close apps on the iPad, the other is your internet speed is not able to handle the demands of a high speed device.
To close apps: Double click home button, swipe up to close the apps.
To solve internet problem, contact your provider. Basic internet is not enough for video games and movies. Your router may be old and slow.

IPad Mini 1st Gen Springboad Won't Go Into Landscape Mode

After updating to iOS 8.0.2, I noticed that my iPad Mini 1st Gen will not go into landscape mode anymore when in the Springboard. When I'm in an app it works, but as soon as I press home it goes straight back into portrait. I checked all the settings and everything seems to be ok including the options for the rotation lock/mute button. Even the rotation option in the control centre is off. I have no clue what's going on. Can someone shed some light?

Have you tried a soft-reset to see if that fixes it : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Okay , you should only delete EMPTY DUPLICATED folders, not preview folders or any others. I would put them all back. Then just delete any DUPLICATED EMPTY folders, do not disturb any other folders. On iOS switch off DOCUMENTS AND DATA under ICLOUD in SETTINGS. Do this on all iOS devices not just the one. Once deleted DUPLICATE FOLDERS on the mac in MOBILE FOLDERS then exit the LIBRARY. Open PAGES on your MAC and view folders on icloud. Check everything is all there as expected. If okay then DELETE and re-install PAGES app on iOS - THEN switch on DATA and DOCUMENTS in ICLOUD. Now open PAGES. If you have Time Machine on you can recover any 'lost' doc files and restore them from your mac from pages application. Try the process again and do not disturb any folders other than ones I mentioned as this is the system files LIBRARY. It is not a place to be over zealous in moving, altering and deleting folders and files. Take care please.

I had the exact same problem with my iPhone a few months ago. I was in the middle of an update and it told me to connect to iTunes while it was already connected, but then stayed frozen. I tried restoring, removing the sim card, reinstalling iTunes, using a different computer, everything. Unfortunately you'll probably have to take it to the Apple store like I did. They wiped out my phone and fixed the problem in about 2 seconds, but they did it in the back room so I have no idea what they actually did. Probably worked their Mac Genius magic or something. Is iOS 7.0.4 worth installing on iPad Mini WiFi (1st Gen)?

I've heard mixed responses with some people saying it works great and others saying that their batteries were nuked following the update. Has any of the issues been fixed from the initial version? Is it worth taking the plunge or should I wait? I mainly read books on the Kindle app and watch movies. The main reason I bought the iPad Mini in the first place was for the battery life so would appreciate the input. Thanks.

What is up with the ridiculous prices on used Ipad's 1st gen

I was on kijji/ebay/Craigslist, all i see the first gen Ipad going at 350-400 dollars. I check apple's prices on the main site, the Ipad 2 is $399, I don't get why the first generation Ipad is the same price as an Ipad 2. Am i missing something? I was thinking of buying the first generation Ipad used since the 3rd one came out and i thought it would drop the price down.

Hi,
I had one of my phone's battery run out.
It was charged overnight and had enough battery before I went to bed.
However an iMessage I sent and checked on my other phone (Smilies from Messages Beta) did not arrive until this afternoon my time (At least 12 hours later)
Syncing seems to have a long way to go on this.
I amd finding both Phones (iOS 5 devices) and the Messages Beta are having difficulty in keeping things in sync and up to date when they are On.

My Ipad Mini 1st Gen has been screwed since I updated to IOS 8.0.2!! HELP!

My photo apps are always crashed and keep showing the message "restoring", Safari keep crashing, email apps keep crashing. and after app crashing it freezed at the apps page for 3-15 mins. I have already tried to turn off all the features in setting to reduce processing memories but yet it's useless except scrolling are smoothers, but none of above issues have resolved.
I tried to factory reset my Ipad mini and restore again unfortunately it always show the error msg: " the synchronization are unable to complete due to the device has terminated."
I never have a synchronization completely after I updated to IOS 8.
I had 21GB of photos in my iPad mini which was imported from my DSLR. are there anyway for me to export it out again???

After reading your post, it sounds like you are experiencing performance issues with your device. You may want to consider restarting the device first, and then resetting if that does not work. This article provides detailed instructions for Restarting, and Reseting:
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on the top of your device until the red slider appears. Then drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
How to reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

Can I use my iPad mini 1st Gen nano-sim w/iPad Mini with Retina?

I have an original AT&T iPad mini with LTE..works great. Can I get an LTE iPad mini with Retina or LTE iPad Air and put the nano-sim in that and have it work? I assume it would work but wanted to make sure!
I have an existing AT&T monthly plan with my original iPad mini...want to move that over to the new unit.
Let me know if you have done this or any thoughts..thanks!

Contact AT&T. I believe you have to set up a new account on the new iPad and cancel the account on the old iPad.

IOS 7 Game Center iPad Mini (1st Gen)

Why does the Game Center stop working on my iPad mini? I never had this problem until recently. I don't have this problem on my 4S and yes I have reset the content but I'm not gonna do it to my settings every time this stupid thing decides to act up. Is there another solution or at least a reason why this is happening??? It's very frustrating since we need it to work in order to play the games

Digital copies of movies can no longer sync on mini ipad (1st gen) but works on mini w/retina display; using Windows XP; just installed Win 7 but lost libraries

have 2 mini ipads. 1st gen can no longer add digital movies from my iTunes library/purchased content. cannot sync; error msg "cant be played in HD; your computer must have Windows 7 & a built in display or a display that supports HDCP. My mini w/Retina works fine. My PC is on Windows XP so I installed Windows 7 (dual boot) but my iTunes library is linked to the XP Operating System. Added about 100 digital movies to my iTunes library on Windows 7. How can I fix the 1st gen mini iPAD to accept the High Def content? It worked back in Feb 2014 when I added movies, but not this time? Thanks.

In the meantime, you might want to try our 11.3 beta or rollback to a previous version of the player to see if that resolves the problem.

Does anyone know how I find out what the lowest price charged for a refurb iPad 32g 1st gen was? I bought one a few months ago for my daughters christmas but now realise this was a bit silly as the prices keep dropping!! However my cc had an insurance policy on it so if the prices paid reduces further, I get a refund of the difference! Have phoned apple cust services but they say they can't find this info.
