Stolen iphone 5, in what ways can it still be used?

my iPhone 5 was stolen. It's erased and I have put a hold on my account. Can it still be used as an iPod and if so, why hasn't apple figured out how to disable the phone completely if stolen? Makes me furious that my phone can still be used by a thief.

I DID have find my iPhone turned on and watched it roam all over the city while trying to play detective…Thought maybe they realized it could not be used and it seemed to stay in one area for a long time so we checked all garbage cans and dumpsters in the area, then watched as they moved. Thats when I deleted all of my info and called AT&T to suspend my line and report it stolen. I did not have the latest update bc I did not want to delete my entire phone to update it. So wondering if they can still plug it in and download music…

The Apple IDs from @mac.com and @me.com (Older MobileMe and more recent iCloud Names) are also Valid AIM Screen names.
Any other sort of Apple ID is not a Valid AIM Name.
A Google ID that is associated with Google Mail Account (And has "Talk" enable on your Google Settings) can be used in iChat as Jabber Name/ID. (Google Run Jabber server).
Jabber and AIM are different IM Services and it is not easy or straight forward to add Buddies from one Service to the Buddy List of another. (As A Starting point consider it "impossible")
iChat 4 and 5 have links to the registration page of @Mac.com here with a "Get an iChat Account" button in the add (Account) screen (You select @mac.com or MobileMe and then press the Button - Choosing AIM and then pressing the button used to lead to the AIM registration page but AIM moved their page).
Apple IDs can be any valid email (or an @mac.com or iCloud registration)
Therefore you could make a Google ID into an Apple ID.
However this will not be a valid AIM Screen Name the way @mac.com or MobileMe/iCloud ones are.

About a month ago, my iphone got stolen. So, i had to report it to the law enforcement. They are saying that it'll be possible to retreive my iphone if a new sim card has been kept in it. Now, my question is , can it still be used ? Because, when the thief ran off with my iphone, i turned on FInd My Iphone, unfortunately the phone was already turned off. So, what if the guy had later on turned on the phone, will he be able to have access to the phone by restoring it ? Will the lost mode appear on the phone (even if it is not connected on a wireless internet connection) ?
Btw, the phone was an Iphone 5 with iOS 7

You get that message any time you download an executable file. It is safe to open as long as you download from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

In this case the instructions were incorrect. I forgot that the uninstaller would run that command. The reason for that command was to let the system know that foomatic-rip 4.0.6 had been removed. I am sure that you were able to then install foomatic-rip version 3.43.2.15. There are two ways to confirm that the older version is now installed. First, if you can print at all, it is present. You could also copy and paste the following command in the Terminal. It should respond with the version that is installed:
pkgutil --pkg-info org.linuxprinting.foomatic-rip | grep version
Do I need to change the PPD at all?
There is no need to change the PPD. PPDs are reflective of the software (drivers) that are called from the PPD. You can put anything you want in the PPD. If that capability is not in the driver, having it in the PPD won't make it work.
Setting a job to print from A1 Roll Paper is a two step process. First you select the Paper Size which is A1.
Then look under the pop up menu below Paper Size for an item called Paper Feed.
Select Paper Feed. Then you will be able to select where/how the paper is being fed to the printer. This is where you can choose Roll Paper (Cut) or Roll Paper (No Cut) among other choices.
Other drivers may have A1 Roll Paper listed under Paper Size. Perhaps that is how the HP driver was. There would still have had to be a place, then to check whether or not you wanted the paper to be cut and/or whether you were feeding sheets of paper from one of the other paths.
Let us know if you can find all the options now and that you are able to keep your normal workflow.

I use a website to send emails to myself. It already sorta creates the calendar event but requires a lot of editing. The link-back to the email makes it super easy to just go to the original. But I'm wondering if there's a specific format I can put the emails so that when creating the calendar event, it just has all the information, instead of parts of it?

In iphone 3G,the highest you can go is ios 4.2.1. I know it's usless that we can't download any games or most of the essential apps cause either says you need a 4.3 or above. But you can use it as a pretty decent phone and play music and download some basic apps. I know how you feel i had a phone like that.

If he Registered his mac in his icloud account and said yes to "Find my mac" than he can go to icloud.com, log-in, and than click find my mac. His mac can then be located.

The photos are already "saved" on the phone's SS memory SIM cards have nothing to do with that, and don't enable bypassing the passcode. In fact, changing the SIM card requires reactivating the phone which will wipe everything stored in the phone.

My new phone was activated before i could diable iMessahvge and find my phone so it has been a night mare to say the least. If I unregister the device, will my husband still be able to use it? Stolen/Blocked iPhone 4, what can be still be used/accessed?

Unfortunately I had my iPhone 4 stolen today (pickpocketed in London Underground), so I phoned the operator - O2 straight after the tube journey.
O2 claimed to have blocked the iPhone and also made the sim card "unusable" which was a bit odd as I didn't know the IMEI number (but apparently that does not matter?)
I was just wondering if anyone knows if:
1. The theif can still access or use my iPhone :apps, photos, videos etc (I did have a Passlock on the phone).
2. Can the person still access my sim card phone directory and sms messages (there was no Pin Code for the sim card).
