Stolen iPod Touch, 2 gen w/out Find me
Daughters Touch was stolen and have been able to track to IP address, in this case apt building. Is there any way to recover with exact location? Thx.
Anything that you could have done requires advance preparation. In my case, I have an 8-digit password that no one could possibly determine. In addition, it's configured to automatically wipe itself clean in the event of ten consecutive unsuccessful password entries. You might consider this in the future.
In your case, I recommend changing all passwords of all accounts that can be accessed via the iPod. It's a nuisance but there isn't much else that can be done.

If a lost or stolen iPod touch is reset by the finder, will I still receive notifications through Find My iPhone if it connects to Wi-Fi after the reset?
If the device is completely reset and restored to defult settings, then it will not notify you because all the account informmation will have been removed. (Which is probably a good thing too)

alright im really pist cuz someone stole my ipod touch is there anyway i can trace it or anything????
im not sure if this is a thread or a comment or idk. but my ipod was stolen and i know there are a BILLION other people out there who have lost their ipods and i guess i just have some tips for you that i thought might help someone other than my self.
1) know where it was stolen? check local pawn shops
2)# 1 was the only thing that i havent already seen so yah... if you find and ipod touch fist gen. with some small kinks in the top right oorner and a panda wall paper its probobly mine!
oh and is it ok to send a threat letter to the person who stole your ipod throgh the email that you know you have on their that has no pass code?

IPod Touch 2nd Gen Video Out Problem with Apple Component Cable
I'm trying to get video out working with my iPod touch connected to my TV. Here's the information.
32 GB iPod Touch 2nd Gen
Apple Universal Dock (current version.)
Apple Component Out cable for iPod (current version that connects with a dock connector.
I've connected the component cables into the component video input on my TV. When I start playing any video (purchased off iTunes store in Standard Def,) I get a scrambled picture that appears to be the video, and no sound. I purchased the TV in South Korea and haven't gotten to test it yet on a TV back in the US. I have my video out settings with wide screen turned off and set to NTSC (South Korea uses NTSC.) I've also tried every setting combination, and switching the cable connections with the same or similar results. Sorry if a similar problem has been posted elsewhere, but after searching, I couldn't find any similar behavior. Any ideas on what might be the cause? I don't have any other component devices to check if the component on the TV is bad.I've got that same problem: iPod Touch 2nd Gen, Apple Component Cables, and an HD TV.
The funny thing is, the cable works fine with an iPod Classic (160 GB) but not for the iPod Touch. Can anyone explain why that is? -
I need a way of severing all services (such as message receiving and connecting to my iPhone texts) from my iPod Touch 4th gen remotely as I'm concerned it has been taken and I did not activate 'find my iPod' before its disappearance. I have already changed my Apple ID passwords in the hope that it would require my new password to recieve any further messages. I tested it on my iPad and this is seemingly not the case. I also do not want whoever has it to be able to see my mobile conversations as I also own an iPhone and I do not want them to be able to recieve all messages sent to and from my iPhone. Basically I just want to make it so no one can use any services using my account.
there is nothing you can do to find it if the find my ipod app was not activated if it was stolen all you can do is file a police report you would need to have the serial number when you file the police report, plus notify your celluar provider that your iphone may have been stolen and they can make a note on their network about the phone

Apple has not announced any new iPod models, and until they do none of us here, who are all fellow users, will have any idea. In the past, any new models of the iPod touch were announced in the fall, but whether Apple will continue this pattern or indeed if they have plans for any future new iPod touch models at all is unknown. We'll just have to wait and see.

Music from other sources must be synced to your iPad from your iTunes library. To do so, connect your iPad to the same iTunes library you sync your Touch with, select the music you want to sync to your iPad, check Sync Music on the Music tab of your iTunes sync settings, the click Apply at the bottom to sync your iPad. (You can transfer purchased music this way too.)

my ipod touch 5th gen fell outof my pocket while i wasinmy local park it landed on the concrete and the screen got smahed:(
its smashed about 2/sof the SCREEN and i just wanted to see if the screen can be fixed or replacd thereforei do not really want a new ipod because i have lots of very important information on my ipod!
And also my camera wont work now on both sides even though its the screen that got smashed not the back!

I have a 1st gen iPod Touch and I am unable to charge unless I find the right spot when moving the connector head a bit. When I was able to charge, it would some times drain my battery. Now that it's completely dead, I can't find that right spot. Help??

is the logic board responsible for calibrating the battery and charging ,
It keeps track of the power and displays it in the upper right of screen.
could it drain the battery say by not switching the drive off i use to remember when shutting down after you swipe the red bar it would give you an icon animation of what looked like a wheel spinning and then a faint whirr and clicking like the drive is shutting down .
There is no moving drive. It's all solid state. What you were hearing is electronic sounds being generated from the logic board.
i still get the the icon and animation but i dont hear the click or whirring anymore suggesting that the drive isnt shutting off which may cause the drain but not the battery indication .
This even leads be to believe more that the problem is on the logic board.
do you think its worth pursuing this ?
If you could find a used logic board on eBay, it might be worth fixing, if you could get it cheap enough.

If you didn't get notified by your iPod Touch 4th generation there is a new update that just came out tonight Saturday November 16th.
Your iPod 4th generation should let you know but just in case it didn't I'm letting you know.
Update (6.1.5) is now out as of this date.

There is nothing you can do! . . . If you wan't iOS7, you must purchase iPod Touch (5th generation).
Your iPod Touch (4th generation should let you know about the (update 6.1.5) but if it didn't well here it is.
At least Apple is still concerned about supporting there previous customers and is well appreciated!

After upgrading to FCP 5.0.4, the application doesn't load anymore. It starts up and gets through about 5 seconds of loading then just fades away, no error report or anything. I tried downloading the upgrade againj and installinbg, but still no luck.
