Stolen nobeook - logged in on Skype - can I trace ...

Hello,
One of my notebooks have been stolen recently from the house. Police investigated and i have a file on that. Yesterday someone have turn the notebook on and I saw skype name online. Is there a chance to get the log information, IP adress or something similar that would help the police to find the thief?
Please respond, I had so many important things on the notebook.

Skype will only provide possibly sensitive information (which may include IP address/es) to the proper law enforcement bodies.  You can ask your local police to contact Skype to request for such information.  Most likely they already know how to get in touch with Skype.

    Do you mean you cannot log in to iCloud.com? With Find My Mac you can locate and protect your Mac if it is lost or stolen.

  • Skype can't detect sound card, issue with playback...

    I have just received my Razer kraken 7.1 headset and have installed razer synapse 2.0. I have set up my mic and speakers of the headset through the control panel, my playback is set as the razer kraken 7.1 earphone and the mic is set as the headset microphone through the recording tab. When I launch skype there is no sound produce through the application, however with previous headsets there has been, I have tried going on youtube to see if sound comes through the headset and it does. Previously I have been using a turtle beach z11 which used 3.5mm jacks in to the computer however this new headset is usb operated. When skype opens and I try to call someone it says problem with playback device meaning I can't call anyone at all. However when checking call quality it says everything is working fine even though it isn't.
    So far I have tried re-installing skype and restarting my pc none of this has worked so far, I know this isn't likely a fault with the headset as it works with all other programmes I have tried.
    I am using a custom built pc with
    OS: WIN7 64 BIT Home Premium
    GPU: AMD HD7950
    CPU: i5-3550
    RAM: 8gb 1333mhz
    Motherboard: Asus p67 series
    Sound card: Onboard 7.1 audio
    Any help with my problems would be much appreciated.

    @gsnell, Please setup your audio device directly in Skype and not only in the windows playback/record interface.
    Also, please try to quit synapse 2.0 since it may interfere with Skype.
    Also please try with the latest 6.13 version

  • Skype can't connect. HOW DO I FIX IT!!!!!!!

    Everytime i bring up my skype program i log in and the blue circle spins for about 20 seconds. Then highlighted in yellow it comes up with, Skype can't connect. I have tried re-installing it, and fidiling with my internet options. My firewall is completly off and i dont use a proxy server i use a ADSL connection and i dont have a wireless router. I SERIOUSLY HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! i wish there was a skype customer support number i could call

    Skype 5 has been retired? What a shame! ....I'll never understand big companies and their questionable choices.... Oh well, I guess I'll use Skype 6 then, it's extremely ugly but at least it's pretty similar to Skype 5 in terms of layout...

    Please access your account dashboard starting by clicking on the link that appears at the upper right corner of the main Skype website page -  http://www.skype.com/en/  - where you will see a Sign In "button."  If you are on the Skype Support website page, the link at the upper right corner of that page reads Sign In. 
    It appears you may have misunderstood that the place to sign on to your account information is via the Skype website.  You are correct; there is no need to set up or to use a Skype Manager configuration for a personal use account, so therefore this would not the appropriate place to access your account information and would look confusing; please do not input terms if you have no intention to set up a Skype Manager configuration for a business.

    Hi,
    Two days ago the skype disconnect me during a conversation since that time there is no connection. I tried to change my password (since that time I can't log on either - because have no connection), uninstall and reinstall the program and I also checked the firewall already. I have Win operation system on my laptop.
    This is the only possibility to keep contatc with my family in my home country so it would be important to fix the program.
    I have skype credit what I also want to use.

    This started two days ago. When I turn on my Mac, I launch Skype, try to log in and it just says “Skype can't connect”. Sometimes after a hundred of  attempts, it lets me in. OS X 10.10. Latest Skype version sownloaded (7.2.412)

  • Skype can't connect on my laptop

    When I try to log into Skype on my laptop, I get the message "Skype can't connect".
    I have reset my password, I have made sure I have the latest version istalled, I have made sure my firewall isn't blocking it, and I have checked that the problem is not because of a slow internet connection.
    I can connect without any problem using my phone, can anyone help me figure out why I can't connect using my laptop? It used to connect automatically without any problem.

  • A more persistant "Skype can't connect" problem

    I’m a Skype user from Xinjiang, China. Despite the blocking of many foreign websites including Skype.com, I had had no trouble logging into Skype inside the Government Firewall until my Windows 7 crashed a few days ago. After I reinstalled everything (Windows 7 Home Basic x64, BitComet, and some other necessary apps I had before the crash), I lost connection to all the versions of Skype I could think of: v 6.16, v 6.18, v 7.1, v 7.4, Business Portable v7.1. I followed every suggestion I found both inside and on the other side of the GFW, but with no luck. I set the LAN settings to “automatically detect”, added some rules in my router and Windows Firewall, disabled Kaspersky Security 2014, and assigned Skype a new port. I even went so far as to install a completely clean and neat Windows 8.1. After all these attempts I get the same message “Skype can’t connect” every time I log in. When I try to connect it with my Microsoft account, it says “Sorry, something went wrong. Please try again.” It doesn’t work on another computer or on my Android phone in the same home-based network (access to the fibers through a TP-Link router). I know it’s my problem because in my area there are other people whose Skype works fine. I just can’t figure out what the problem. What can I do now?

    Ahhhh. Now how on earth would I guess this? 
    I accidentally discovered after updating my Skype version 3 times, including acknowledging the "This version will replace the older version in your computer," it did not update at all! When I finally thought to check the version after opening what I thought was the updated version, it still had the old version numbers... I had to drag the Skype Application Icon to the trash and "empty trash" to delete the old version completely. Then, when I downloaded the same app for the fourth time, it worked just fine and I was able to sign in on the first try. Clearly skype should let people know this, but apparently they do NOT! Hope this helps some of you with similar problems.
