Stop Adobe Bridge from importing photos

I have recently started using Adobe Lightroom.  Up until now, I have used Adobe Bridge to download photos from my camera to my computer so when I plug in my camera, it automatically starts up.  How do I get this to stop opening as I now wish to use Adobe Lightroom to download these photos?

"CurtY" just told me This is a function of the operating system.  and i needed to look in Auto Play options for a "do nothing" when that app is connected.
i went to start in windows then typed in autoplay and the program came up.... and gave me an option to "take no action" when camera was plugged in. .. previously Adobe Bridge was there in that option.
on the other hand, i still dont know why i dont have those options in my Adobe Bridge CS5

When you shut down this window appears.
Uncheck the reopen box and it should stop this from happening

Adobe BRIDGE CS 5 PHOTO DOWNLOADER freezes and/or stops working during download after 2 years of use. I have uninstalled/re installed twice, cleaned system, adjusted Bridge settings with no change. And I have found no helpful troublshooting tips in forum or on web.

Does it freeze with other type of cards.  Have seem some post that suggest an imbedded CODEC on the flash card can cause file corruption in Bridge and Mac Finder.

You can't "attach" images to emails. There's nothing to see in your post.
The forums are designed to be accessed through their web interface by logging on with your web browser.  If you do it by email instead, you should know that no one will see your images, they'll just disappear into the ethernet…

  • Stop icloud sync from deleteing photos from computer?

When I ran out of space on my ICloud backup all photots were deleted from my computer -- I find this to be a serious problem - I was using the computer to maintain a backup of the photos on my IPhone - How do I stop ICoud syncing from deleting photos?

How many photos did you have? Photo Stream only keeps the last 1000. If you really want to keep the photos, import them into your iPhoto (or Aperture or Lightroom or whatever photo software you use on the Mac) and not just keep them in Photo Stream.

  • How do you stop 1.4 from importing??

I recently installed LR2.3 on a machine with LR1.4.  I thought it would install over but it appears to have installed a completely seperate copy.
The problem:  when I put a card in my reader, the Windows dialog box pops up for 'what do you want to do with this?'.
If I select the LR2.3 icon, it pulls up LR1.4 instead!!  The icon definitely says 2.3.
How do I stop 1.4 from importing and letting 2.3 do it?
    Right now I have to:
    Insert card
Wait for 1.4 to come up
    shut down 1.4
    Bring up 2.3
    Import
    thoughts?

I haven't had LR 1.4 installed over a year so I don't quite remember how it worked, but if it uses ADPProxy then you might find relief with the steps shown in this post:

  • How do I stop Adobe Reader from crashing on my unprivileged user?

I am running Windows 7 and I needed to create an unprivileged user on my computer. When I open a PDF file, it almost instantly crashes (I can view the document for about three seconds). If I simply open Adobe Reader without a PDF and click Edit -> Preferences, it crashes. If I open a PDF in any browser, it crashes.
From what I have been able to surmise, it seems that Adobe Reader is trying to read the registry of my privileged user. I have tried uninstalling Adobe Reader, temporarily giving privileges to my unprivileged user, installing Adobe Reader on that user, and then remove the permissions, but the crash still occurs. The only way to stop Adobe Reader from crashing is to start the program as an administrator or change the account type to administrator. How do I stop Adobe Reader from crashing on my unprivileged user?

It said "Adobe Reader has stopped working" soon after I opened it, but I was still able to scroll down the document. It was only once I pressed Close Program that it stopped working.
Upon trying it a second time, it immediately stopped letting me scroll down when the program crashed. Here is the error log, I receive the exact same exception code every time:

  • How do I stop Adobe Bridge opening on start up?

I have tried going into the preferences for both my Mac and Adobe bridge and it is not ticked to open automatically in either, not even on the list on the Mac.  is there somewhere else I need to look?

That did it Mende1, quite new to all things Mac so had no idea that even though it was not open on my screen it must have still been running. The icon has disapeared now from the bottom of the screen so I am finally rid of it, thanks.

  • Stop the zooming?  Imported photos in iMovie.

Up until recently I haven't dealt with still images in iMovie, but in this case I am opening the movie with a photo that I brought into Photoshop and retouched to look painted. I want to transition from the "painted" image to the actual image as an opening sequence. Only problem is that imported photos do a 5 second "zooming effect" and I don't want this. I want the stills to remain static on screen. I've looked through iMovie and I can't find a control for this anywhere. How can I keep the images static and not "zoom?"

Sue is right. Here's the step by step:
Select the photo you want to remove the "Ken Burns" zooming effect from. There should be a crop tool shaped a bit like a square towards the upper left corner of your selected picture, click on that. You'll see your picture enlarged on the right with a red and green square in it. At the top of the picture, select "Fit" instead of "Ken Burns" and this will turn off the zooming. Then click the "Done" button in the top right corner.

  • Trying to open Adobe Bridge from Photoshop CC 2014 will launch Creative Cloud

As written in the subject, I have the problem that Bridge doesn't start anymore since updating to Photoshop CC 2014.
Instead the creative Cloud desktop application is launched and tries to reinstall Bridge CC (although it is already installed)
All old Bridge version were uninstalled without result.

I have the same issue when trying to Browse in Bridge from Photoshop CC 2014. When I click "Browse in Bridge" in Photoshop CC 2014, the Creative Cloud desktop client window opens up and asks "Are you sure you want to install this version of Bridge"?
Like you, I also thought it was an update so I clicked' "Yes, install this version" option.
Bridge will launch from the dock icon I have set up, but not from within Photoshop CC 2014.
Any solutions to this bug anyone?

  • "Browse in Adobe Bridge" from Right Click Menu

    Adobe Suite CC2014
    Windows 7 Pro 64-bit SP1
In earlier versions of Adobe Bridge, if you right context a folder, "Browse in Adobe Bridge" was an item.
This no longer appears to be the case.
Is there a Preference setting to make this occur?
    Thanks in advance.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • How to keep Keywords from Bridge when importing photos

I am moving images from Bridge on my old computer to LR on my new computer.  The photo comes in fine but the IPTC Core fields are not there.
    How do I fix this?
    Thanks!

I’ve never done it but I think the only way to do it is to use the export command to send files to the desktop or an external hard drive before moving to your new computer. Try selecting a test batch of images in Bridge and using:
    File >> Export
After selecting the destination, click on the Image Options tab and choose all metadata.

  • How can I stop  Adobe Reader from opening after start up?

I just installed version 9. I remember a question that appeared during installation that was something like "do you want Adobe Reader to open after start up?" I said checked yes because I assumed this meant I wanted it in my StartUp menu. After everything loads and my desktop comes up, the Adobe Reader file opens up showing all the program's files and just sits there. I have to close it each time after start up.
I looked through Preferences, but can't find a way of stopping the program's file window from opening after start up. How can I stop this? Thanks for your help.

    Edit>Preferences
    Under Page Display:
Where it says "Location of referenced files", if it shows "Floppy Disk A:/" clear the box, or choose an alternate location if you can't clear it.
    Also, under Search:
    Click "Purge Cache Contents"
