Stop all plug-ins from updating for enterprise support
We want to control the flash, java, and other plug in versions for our enterprise and do not want it automatically updated by Firefox. How can I stop firefox from trying to update?
This would include Firefox updates. We will update globally when we are ready and after we have tested with our production applications.
What does the update window look like? This is the official plugin update site:

What you're seeing may be generated by an add-on. Try disabling ALL nonessential or unrecognized add-ons on these two tabs:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Plugins category<br>
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category
Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
If you would like comments on whether any of your extensions look untrustworthy, you can extract a list from the Troubleshooting Information page. Either:
* Help > Troubleshooting Information
* type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
In the upper left corner is a button to "Copy text to clipboard". When pasting into a reply, you'll see a lot of preference information below the extensions list. You can delete that lower part if you don't want comments on those.

Migrating Logic and all plug ins from old mac to new mac
Hi,
I understand Migration Assistant will bring over all my old files from my Macbook Pro to my new Mac Pro. My question is, I have Logic Pro 7 and authorization key (USB), my new Mac Pro has Logic Pro 9, can I use all my old music files by just using Migration Assistant? What about registration or authorization? What about my 3rd Party Plug ins? Do I have to re install all of them, or will they come over as well through the Migration? Anyone with any experience actually doing a similiar migration to mine, all advice or tips would rock.some 3rd party plug ins you will have to reauthorize and it can be quite a pain but it does work. im not sure if your old logic files will work though

Plug-Ins from logic for Itunes?
Is it possible in Itunes to use Plug-Ins, for example a EQ from Logic?
I am thinking this is a Logic specific problem now.
I cannot see the logic instruments in the channel inserts either, although the effects and signal processors are there.
where should the EFM 1, ES m etc folders be on the drive?
asuming they are in the right place what settings could affect their showing up in the insert menu?? -
How do i stop plug ins from updating
Once or twice a week a box will pop up about updating plugins, then a completely different Firefox browser than I use pops up, there are no bookmarks in this browser, I close it, open my regular Firefox browser and all my bookmarks are gone.

How do I stop my plug ins from switching presets?
I just downloaded Logic Pro 9.1.7 and everything is recording perfectly fine. But then when it comes to editing, EQ'ing/limiting etc, the presets start scrambling uncontrollably, switching from one to the other. I thought that maybe because I had downloaded some updates before I had installed Logic it had corrupted it somehow,but then I deleted them and the problem persists..help anyone? lol
Contact the makers of your third party plugins and see if they have updates that work correctly with Photoshop CC 2014.
Also, make sure you ran the installers for the plugins instead of just copying them, since you may be missing necessary support files for the plugins. -

Is there something I missed? Does logic have a "mute all plug-ins" or "mute all plug-ins except software synths" function??
I think it really shouldn't be a big problem to implement something like that (some daws have that feature).
Low-Latency mode can deactivate multiple plug-ins if needed, so it should also be possible manually, shouldn't it?

As far as I know, this isn't available in Logic.
As a workaround, I would do this... save the song as "Song Title-no plugins".
Then, go to the mixer, drag your mouse across ALL tracks, so they are all selected. Now, when you remove any plug-in from the top insert location, all plug-ins inserted in that top location will be removed, from all tracks. Next, remove any plug-in from the second insert, and all plug-ins in that second insert location will be removed, etc...
Obviously, saving as a separate song eliminates the possibility of saving your original song without the plug-in loaded.
Logic 7 at least had "remove ALL plug-ins" from the Audio Configuration window. Although this is almost as quick.
So while it's not quite the answer you were looking for, it should help you achieve what you need to do, hopefully... -
i continually get the same 12.0a2 update box that pops up in the bottom right corner even though i have the updated version and i have to wait for the aurora updater to do something everytime i start a new session. i went through and disabled all plug-ins and have no extensions active and this doesn't solve the problem. according to plug-in check all plug-ins are up to date. aurora does crash every once in a while where it closes out all my windows...but i do not get the crash report anymore to report it. is there a problem with aurora? i even updated FF in case that had a factor in the crashes/freezes!! FF used to do this same thing all the timea fter a new update but this is ridiculous!! WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? typos courtesy of freezing!!!is there a problem with aurora? i can't go more than 2 minutes without constant freezing and the "not responding" message. i have run scans on my computer weekly since i updated to aurora and there is no threats/problems...why does this keep happening?
addendum...i have added the crash reports for the last week...does that give any insight into why this keeps happening?i am not sure what this means? "not for public use"? i did not seek out another version of FF it was an option on mozilla's page when i needed to update FF!! i know that i will run into these problems if i do not keep current and it was an option so i chose it. are you suggesting that i dump aurora from my system and go back to using just FF? i'm not a developer or know anything deep regarding the physical or logical of systems...i am just trying to keep good maintenance on my system!! i need a browser that works with me and not against me...chrome does not do what i need...neither does opera...FF is the only browser that i have used for almost 4 years now and i don't plan on going back to IE or changing to those mentioned above...i just want to know that when i see new offerings on mozilla products and i accept them into my system that they work much better than what i am experiencing currently!! i get that it is open-sourced and therefore a work in progress

I am unable to access my email from Charter.net. I can sign in with my password, then a message comes up which says "The plug-in for this page has been disabled. Click here to manage your plug-ins." All of my plug-ins are enabled. What am I missing?
After a great deal of searching I ran across the suggestion to disable all plug-ins and then, one by one, enable them until finally the problem was solved. I am not sure which plug-in was causing the problem, as I am satisfied to have the problem solved. I am going to leave the rest of the plug-in disabled.

As long as you share that AppleID for iCloud, you cannot. You are sharing a a single iCloud account and sync services. The only thing you can do is get a second AppleID and use it with iCloud - you do not have to use that new AppleID for anything but iCloud (ie. you can still share an AppleID for iTunes and App store purchases).
P.S. I am assuming you both want to sync your contacts with iCloud? -
I have just updated my plug in & add ons, but they are several that say to research. How do I know what plug ins are necessary for firefox to run properly. I really don't want a bunch of unnecessary downloads on my computer
None are '''''necessary''''' to use Firefox, but some parts of some web pages aren't going to work without a specific plugin being installed.

If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 8. Back up all data before making any changes.

You might have to log out or restart the computer before a Flash update takes effect.

They may be an attempt to trick you into installing malware masquerading as Flash. Type the address into the browser window. Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
Step 8
If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked
Allow (or Enable) plug-ins
Then click the button marked
Manage Website Settings...
if present and make sure that the website is not blocked for Flash.

Select

All plug-ins already assigned - SE Liveview
Hi everyone. Some day ago I bought SE Liveview to use with my HTC Sensation. It works fine, no more disconnects every minute and so on.. The only problem is with plugins. I am able to download them from market and to load them in Liveview manager but when i try to add them to Liveview Application it says: "All plug-ins already assigned", not allowing me to add them. I tried to solve this problem searching for solutions down the web and i found a forum where some users say that the possible cause is ICS, and i have it on my Sensation.
Does anyone of you all have a solution to this problem?
Maybe is all due to an incompatibility between android 4.0 and live view, so please SONY ERICSSON update your app so we can use this device with our cell phones!!
Thanks!I have not heard of this particular problem before so it might be as you say, a compability problem between the LiveView app and ICS.
I will pass on your feedback about this and hopefully we'll see a update of the LiveView app soon.

Firefox continues to have"Not Responding" issues. Updated all plug-ins and disabled most of them but issue still occurs, OFTEN.

I know that plugins aren't being outright disabled and that people need to be encouraged to keep up to date, it's just that there's a lopsided amount of focus on them as a security vector from Mozilla.
I must point out however, that javascript security at the moment seems to consist of an on-off switch on almost every browser in existence: there is no obvious way to set "I don't want that site to know where my mouse is for my privacy", "I don't want that site to dynamically load content because it slows my browser" or the sort.
While there is CAPS ( http://www.mozilla.org/projects/security/components/ConfigPolicy.html ) it is not configurable from within the browser (and its existence at all is obfuscated) and considering a lot of javascript is obfuscated to discourage run-time modification (say using web development toolbars) or discourage CAPS usage, there's little way to know what exactly to use CAPS on without reverse engineering. The average user would not be able to do this.
Javascript security needs to be more, much more than an on/off switch. -
How to permanently disable click-to-run "feature" on all plug-ins
How can I permanently disable the click-to-run "feature" for all plug-ins *including* ones that are unsafe, exploitable, etc.?
I know that this is "unsafe", "inadvisable", a "security risk", etc. however this question has been asked many times and I have not yet found an answer. My reason for wanting to do so is not important and there is no point in questioning it; this is a simple question with what should be a simple answer, and does not require the bickering and arguing that always ensues when someone asks this extraordinarily basic question.
I want to permanently disable any and all forms of click-to-run for any and all plugins, so that all plugins run without having to be clicked first and show absolutely no warnings whatsoever of any kind. If I don't want to run a plug-in I will disable it.
How can I do this very simply thing?Some outdated plugins (e.g. Flash plugins) are blocked via click-to-play and can be enabled when required.<br />
It is best to update such a plugin to the latest version to be protected against security vulnerabilities.
You would have to disable blocklisting to circumvent this and that is not recommended.

"Closed" security model in BOXI 3.0
