Stop and start charging without cause.

My macbook stops charging and the red light in the cable plug turns off. After a sec the light turns on, but green, and in the battery icon reads "no charging". After a sec, the light in the cable plug turns into red and the macbook starts recharging again. One minute later, the same thing happens and so on. Do I have a problem in my charging cable? Does this stuff cause damages to my MacBook? Should I look for a apple service? Ty!

I would suggest having your magsafe adapter checked out by a genius my Mid 07 macbook's magsafe had thoes symptoms and it ended up being due to one of the pins springs had gotten warn and it wasnt making proper contact. It never caused damage to my macbook but i had to shell out $50 for a replacement adapter.
or if you have a friend or family member with a compatable magsafe adapter give it a try see if you have the same symptoms or if it goes away

How do I make a routine stop and start again without restarting labview?

I am running Labview 6i and am somewhat of a noob. I have a subVI designed to take information and write it in a file, but every time I stop this subVI it will not start again until I restart the entire VI. I would like to be able to start it and stop it and take multiple readings because I must leave the main VI running. The subVI is attached.

Why can I not watch a video all the way thru without it stopping and starting, & freezing?

I like to go to abc or cbs pbs etc. and watch their videos but they do

If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Try the standard fixes:
- Rest. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defauslts/new iPod.

Videos stop and start

I've got a fast computer w/plenty of ram. I can watch videos from all other sources perfectly smooth, including Quicktime HD movie trailers.
When I try to watch a video in iTunes it slows my computer down so much that besides the videos stopping and starting, my mouse won't even move smoothly.
It worked fine until a couple of weeks ago.

One reason is that your internet connection is not fast enough to keep up with the video. You may find that when it gets to the end of the video and has fully downloaded, it will replay without stopping.

Not necessarily, but right now you don't have a stable network and there are a lot of factors that can compromise that. I didn't say ethernet was the only option, again you can get a report of your network to see the status. Would have to change things in order to strengthen the wifi signal (i.e. router location, channel,placement of ATV etc). I am running on wireless without issue, same as most users, and if you took it to a controlled environment (like Apple) you would see similar results.

Stop and start at same point?

I want to be able to stop and start at one point in a song.
As it is, when I press "play" from, for example, bar 3, then I hit stop at bar 6. I want to start again at bar 3, NOT bar 6. But for some reason Logic continues - like "scrolling" in ProTools.
I do not want to use my mouse to click back bar 3.
How do I stop / start at the same measure ?

hi glank .. you need to get into the use of Markers. This will easily solve your issue:
1 - Look up the Key Command for Create Marker at Playhead ( ie without Rounding)
2 - Look up KC for "Go to Next Marker" & "Go to Previous Marker".
3 - Place Playhead at measure 20. Press KC for "Create Marker without Rounding"
4 - Play for a few measures and stop whenever you want to.
5 - Now press the KC for "Go to previous marker" - with one stroke you are back at measure 20
6 - Press Play

So many questions!
It depends what you're trying to achieve. Sun Cluster is only started and stopped when you boot/shutdown Solaris.
However, may be you actually only want to be able to make changes to a service without Sun Cluster trying to restart it, etc. If that is the case, then you simply need to disable the monitoring on the service in question and then you can do what you like with the service and Sun Cluster won't react.
A typical example would be for HA-Oracle. If you don't stop the monitoring and then have the DBA try and shutdown the database, they will find that Sun Cluster detected the 'failure' and restarted the service. However, disabling the monitoring will allow the DBA to shutdown Oracle manually, make their changes and bring it back up again. The monitoring can then be re-enabled on the database.

i did not have this problem a year ago. but had it when i used win xp as well. Today noticed a site where i could choose low speed, medium speed or high speed bandwith. i chose the low speed 265 kb and the video played flawlessly without stopping and starting
I claim no expertise and eagerly await some informed advice on whether it is possible change a setting within flash player to accomadate us low bandwith users.

Why does iMovie project jerk and stop and start in preview?

I have been making iMovies with iMovieHD for years using photos with the Ken Burns effect.
Recently after a movie project gets more than a few minutes long with typical audio and transitions, I no longer can preview it without it jerking and stopping and starting.
Obviously this does not allow me to see what I am doing, how the music matches or doesn't match my photos.
I have tried emptying the iMovie trash and emptying my finder trash, no change.
I have made sure there is plenty of hard disk space on my internal drive, where iMovie and the movie file is located.
Any ideas?

c. Deleted iMovie pref file ?
d. Known trouble maker: Lot's of audio clips. eg > 50 gives a stuttering result
Mix down audio to one audio clip.
e. What kind of original material. 12-bit audio or recording in LP-mode (90min
on a 60min tape) GIVES problems + audio sync troubles.
f. .mpg4, .avi, .wmv and other ailient file formats also is problematic.
g. movie stored on an external USB/USB2 hard disk - often troublemaker.

Can be any song, any time, same song will play if I select it again. Bit of a bummer itunes is the main thing I use (macbook pro jukebox).

Most likely culprit is your Lacie drives which are notorious for flaky power supplies which cause just the sort of erratic behaviour that you describe. Have had similar issues myself. Lacie has been good about replacing my power converter-- twice. If you have seven of them, good luck finding the bad one or more. Like I said, the behaviour is erratic. Sometimes it'll work sometimes not. I can't comment on Samsung drives because I've never used them and have never heard anything about them. Same with Softraid. Why not just use Disk Utility. Sounds like you're ready for an external hardware raid. This will be much faster, much more reliable, and may even be cheaper than seven firewire drives. Check out G Tech, and Maxx Digital for starters.

Music stopping and starting, huge gaps between songs

I listen to music via Match daily. Beginning last month I've been experiencing music stopping and starting, big gaps between tracks, and clunky behavior in general. It's comes and goes but over the last week it's been terrible. Is anyone experiencing this? I have tried re-initializing match on my iPhone but it doesn't seem to work.

Go to Edit > Preferences > Playback. Turn off crossfading if enabled...
iTunes will attempt to play tracks that were recorded gaplessly without adding an artifical gap, it won't attempt to remove the gaps between tracks that were there in the original recording, unless you've enabled crossfade. You can't make it add gaps to what should be gapless transitons on the album. If you really need this you could make a playlist and include blank mp3s as a separator.

- which OS & version are you running into this issue ?
- By definition, defunct processes (or zombie processes) are processes that have exited prior to it's parent calling a wait() on it to get the return status .
- couple of things I can think of to narrow down the cause of this issue
1. disable ASP & php plugins and see if this still causes this issue
2. try starting the web server with log level to finest and see fi you get any useful information from the server error logs

I am experiencing the same problem, not being able to access internet at the same time as streaming iTunes music through an Airport Express.
Our configuration consists ot; an iMac G5 and an AirPort Express connected to a cable modem.
This problem first occurred using iTunes 7.0, now updated to iTunes 7.0.1, along with OS X 10.4.8
I have followed the Apple troubleshooting guide - without success to this point. The internet can be accessed (although slower than usual). However when the AX is set, using the AirPort Admin Utility to provide an AX provided IP address to the computer, the internet disappears, but iTunes can play over the network via the AX station.
I am suspecting a damaged preference file, or something of that nature, but am not sure what file(s) to be searching for.
Any help here would be appreciated.
