Stop browsers from saving/remembering SGD login passwords

Is there any way to alter the code of SGD to stop all browsers from being able to remember/save the username/password that gets entered on the standard login screen at /sgd/index.jsp?langSelected=en ?

Not sure if it works in all browsers, but adding autocomplete="off" to the FORM tag in login.jsp tells the browser that the application would prefer caching disabled.

I can not remember my login password what can i do?

    Hi Amanda,
If it's not a Firmware PW, then...
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Utilities from the Installer menu at the top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access the Menubar at top.
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Reset Password from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Reset Password.

  • Stopping "Preview" from saving every document.

How can I stop Preview from saving every pdf file I open? I can't find anything in the prefs that allow me to simply "read" docs without saving them. Thanks.

I normally use Firefox but tried Safari based on your recommendation. If I hit "open document in new window" it does not download, so the problem is solved if I use Safari. That fix does NOT work with Firefox. No matter what viewing choice I make the document is saved to the desktop. Can't find a Firefox preference that addresses this.
You can change where it goes, though. +Firefox > Preferences > General > Downloads.+

  • Can't stop applications from opening automatically at login

A few months ago I tried the "open at login" feature for 4 of the applications in my dock. I have decided it is more of a hassle than it's worth and unchecked "open at login." That didn't stop them from opening automatically. I went into Accounts and made sure the "Login Items" tab was empty. That also didn't work. I even added the programs into the tab, restarted and deleted them. I searched the Apple website and read that you can bypass applications launching automatically by holding shift at the blue screen on startup and then again after typing the password. I set the computer to not login automatically and hold shift every time I start the computer up. I would like to know if anyone else has had this problem and what they did about it. Is there a way to stop them from opening without having to log in every time? Thank you.

go to the directory homedirectory/library/preferences and delete the files loginwindow.plist and com.apple.loginitems.plist. Then log out/in normally. nothing should start up by itself.

  • After a restore from Time Machine my login password does not work.

My HD crashed and I replaced the HD.  I then restored from Time Machine.  After it was done restoring it prompted me for my apple ID and password and account info.  Now when I try to login, the password does not work.  After several failed passwords, it says I can reset my password using my apple ID.  How do you do this?  I click on the message and it just disappears.  I can't login!

Is it your actual Apple ID login password that you're talking about (which is obviously working since you got into this forum) or the password for your user account. If the latter, simply boot to your ML Recovery partition (holding down the Command and R keys while booting) and set a new password via Terminal.
Boot into your Recovery partition and, from the Utilities menu, open Terminal. In Terminal, type in:
    resetpassword
...a small app will run allowing you to select a user and change the password for that use. Enter the new password twice (the second time to verify) and give yourself a password 'hint'. Then reboot and use your new password on your account.

  • Safari not 'remembering' webpages login/passwords

I am running Safari 4.0.4. On certain websites(Facebook & My Space among some) it will not remember the login info or show a box to remember it.
How do I get that to happen ?

I'm having the same or similar problem.
I have no idea what's causing it. It seems to have started after backing up my computer, for the first time, on a new external HD using the HD's included auto-back-up software (a 1tb My Book with "SmartWare" software, from Western Digital). There were other bugs which cropped up at the same time. SmartWare kept thinking it was being run for the first time, and Google Notifier kept forgetting my login information.
The problem with Google Notifier seems to have fixed itself, and I uninstalled SmartWare. The only problem left is with Safari.

  • How to stop LR from saving images I edit in PS???

    Hello,
How to I stop LR from adding images that I have edited in PS from LR.  I dont want LR to track every file I send to PS to be edit.
    Thanks for the advice.

You can use the 'Save As' option in PS, and save as a different name to that auto-generated filename. This will break the link with Lightroom.

  • I am using 10.7.4.  How can I stop Preview from saving versions.

In Lion, 10.7.4 Prieview was changed to use Versions.  This means the previous options of SaveAs is no longer available.
I want to be able to open a file in Preview and SaveAs (now Export) my changes, without having Preview then save those changes in the original file when I close the window.  I know that I can use Revert to get back to the original, but is is time consuming and annoying to have to do so.  How can I stop Lion from using versions??

  • How do I force Safari to remember site logins/passwords?

    Hi.
I'm using a new Mini running Mountain Lion and Safari 6.0.5. I installed the computer fresh, rather than migrating from my old computer (2007 Mini), as I was dragging a lot of dead weight in settings, preferences, and cache. Safari DID acquire my bookmarks from the cloud on first use.
I am frustrated that some of my registered websites/passwords have not been saved; they are not listed in the preferences. Is there any way to force Safari to store the sites? Is it possible to migrate ONLY those settings from my old computer?

Just in case there any outdated keychains ..
Open Keychain Access located in HD > Applications > Utilities
    Select Passwords on the left.
Type in the name of the sites you want Safari to remember passwords for then delete the current keychain for each one.
Back to Safari. Navigate to a site you deleted the old keychain for.
Login with your username and password. Click Yes when prompted to save that data to a new keychain.
To make sure Safari syncs Bookmarks with iCloud, open System Preferences > iCloud
    Make sure Safari is selected.

  • Can't remember my login password

I know it sounds silly, but I haven't actually used my password to login to my computer in months, of course my hint is unhelpful and I've tried every password that I can remember.. I don't have the original CD's-- or can't find where I put them..
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

  • Safari/KeyChain Not Saving Yahoo Mail Login/Password information?

I have a MacBook Pro laptop, Mac OSX Version 10.6.8 and Safari browser Version 5.1.7  Snow Leopard. The problem is ... I recently changed my passwords on my Yahoo Mail accounts.   Safari will not prompt to save my login information for Yahoo Mail. It works with other web sites and worked with yahoo mail before I changed passwords.
My attempts to correct the problem have been unsuccessful. I have tried the following:
    1. Ran Updates
    2. Clicked on Safari > opened Preferences >clicked Auto-Fill all 3 boxes checked
    3. Finder >Applications > utilities > KeyChain     I found Yahoo mail and removed the old ones.
    4. With KeyChain open > Clicked KeyChain Access > Clicked KeyChain First Aid and Verify    No problems found
    5. KeyChain Access>  File > New Password Item>  Typed in KeyChain item Name as https://login.yahoo.com and tried mail.yahoo.com typed in Information and saved.
I have checked the apple sites, the only thing I have found is what I did in #2. the boxes were already checked.
May be I am missing the obvious here. If there is a solution I would appreciate the help. ?

I'm having the exact same issue with Yahoo only on my iMac after changing the password.  I've been trying to fix it since yesterday, and yes I'm updated.  I also tried several fixes for the trojan.  Not luck for me yet.
    Corrections Completed for Safari 5.1.7:
    1- verified all updates completed
    2- deleted cookies for everything
3- deleted keychain access for yahoo account. Interesting is that after deleting cookies and keychain, the username and old password keep populating but it hasn't stored the new password because I never received the prompt to store.

  • How can I prevent Safari/iCloud Keychain from saving data in our password field?

We have a web-based management system where administrators can set and update passwords for individual users. While I love iCloud keychain personally, the problem we are finding is that if the user, once prompted by Safari to Save the password in iCloud Keychain for Autofill, actually clicks 'Save Password', then our page wants to autofill that same password for any selected user or newly added user (and since we don't allow duplicates, constant errors result).
So the basic question: is there a way in HTML or Javascript to set form fields - or an entire form or div - to be ignored by iCloud Keychain, even if they are username or password fields.
We know we could just tell all our Safari users to disable in preferences with a pop-up banner, but that would be unfortunate (and IE-like)
(If this is the wrong place to find this type of info, any clue appreciated. Naturally we've searched a bunch already)

Can I remove my iCloud Keychain from Apple's servers?
Yes. Follow these steps, starting on any one of your iOS devices or Macs that is using iCloud Keychain:
Devices using iOS 7.0.3 or later:
Go to Settings > iCloud > Account > Keychain and turn off “Approve with Security Code”.
Go to each of your other devices that is using iCloud Keychain and turn iCloud Keychain off.
Macs using OS X Mavericks v10.9 or later:
Choose Apple () menu > System Preferences. Click iCloud, then click Account details.
Deselect “Allow approving using security code”.
Go to each of your other devices that is using iCloud Keychain and turn iCloud Keychain off.
After you complete these steps, your keychain data will remain locally on your devices, but changes to your keychain information will not push to your other devices or the cloud unless you turn iCloud Keychain back on. If you want keychain data to push to all of your devices, but not to the cloud, turn on iCloud Keychain on each device as described earlier in this document, but skip the step to create an iCloud Security Code.
