Stop dynamic updating of ldap from radius

We use iPlanet v.4.12 ldap server with radius extensions. At some point in time we have started dynamic updating of the ldap server with session information from the radius server and now I can't find out how to turn off this dynamic updating. I have removed the check mark beside Dynamic accounting in the console configuration page for the radius server, but am still getting the following error messages by the thousand
[18/Dec/2002:17:39:13 +0100] - add value for type dynamicipaddress failed: duplicate value
[18/Dec/2002:17:39:13 +0100] - add value for type dynamicsessionid failed: duplicate value
Can anyone give me a detailed method of turning off this feature please.

Solved this.
When you turn off dynamic accounting in the console, the schema is changed from Dynamic=yes to Dynamic=false. I went in and manually adjusted the schema to Dynamic=no and dynamic accounting was finally turned off.
Just in case anyone else has the same problem.

Dynamic update of text from JTree manipulation

Hi I working on an application that uses both a JTree and text view at the same time.
What I want to do is everytime a node is added/edited/removed from the JTree the text for that node is dynamically updated in the tree view.
At the moment what I do is everytime something is edited in the JTree the whole text is re-written. This is causing the program to slow down for large files.
What I have thought of doing is producing the text for only the edited node, however this may affect others node, for example if a child node is added the parent node needs a closing tag.
Is there anyway I could possibly do this?
An alternative I had thought of was, because it is the syntax highlighting that is taking the time. I thought I could produce the full text for the edited tree then compare it to the pre-editted text. Then only sytax highlight the difference and add it to the text view. Would this be possible?

Just enter the rate and the square footage; do the
calculation when you
pull the data from the database. In general, you don't want
information stored in a database which depends on other
information (ie
calculated fields). The prime example is calculating an age
when you
get Date of Birth information.

How do I stop the update banner from annoying me every few minutes?

How do I stop the Updates Available banner from annoying me every few minutes? I have tried to deselect the "Automatically check for updates" box in System Preferences==>Software Update, but it doesn't help.

I prefer to manually check for updates when convenient and install only those that I wish to install at a time of my choosing. Surely Apple wouldn't be so heavy-handed as to make this impossible?

Since the IPS dynamic update is accessed from the Admin tab, only the accounts having Admin privilege can change/modify the dynamic update settings, Here is a description of the various user roles in CS-MARS (taken directly from the user guide):
â¢Admin: has full use of the MARS.
â¢Notification Only: for a non-user of the MARS appliance, use this to send alerts to people who are not administrators, security analysts, or operators.
â¢Operator: has read-only privileges.
â¢Security Analyst: has full use of the MARS, except cannot access the Admin tab

Dynamic VLAN-Assignment from RADIUS with Aironet 1242AG doesn't work properly

Hello All,
our setting is to assign VLANs dynamically from RADIUS (freeradius) to Clients connected to the 1242 Access-Points with one SSID. We have Firmware
12.4(10b)JA/JDA on the Aironet 1242.
The clients should be connected to one of three VLANs - one for staff, one for students and one for guests. I use the Web-Interface of
the 1242, because I'm not very familiar with IOS cli.
After assigning the first VLAN to the SSID -> click Accept, assigning the second VLAN to the SSID (overwriting the previous one) -> click Accept,
assigning the third VLAN to SSID (overwriting again) -> click Accept, the assignment of VLANs works really fine,
(the only thing i change on the page is VLAN, the SSID is set to mandatory WPAv2)
BUT...
when the 1242 is rebooted (due a building power off or similar) it doesn't work anymore. Clients end up in an endless authentication loop.
After doing the procedure again from above - assigning all VLANs sequently once, it works fine again ! till next reboot...
All VLANs have same encryption, cypher, TKIP+AES CCM. On the Cisco-Site I found a command, which i also tried with no success:
'aaa authorization network default group radius'.
I also tried to save the working config and load it into the 1242 again, this also did not work.
It seems that i'm doing something wrong, but what ?

All you really need to do is make sure the subinterfaces/vlans are created for each VLAN you need, then have radius push down IETF attributes 64, 65, and 81.

Read from File which is dynamically updated

I don't know enough to not follow directions. I bought the software brand new in a sealed from factory box. Had it sitting around until - last week when I deleted flash on my computer and had to upgrade to the new OSX. Mountain Lion doesn't use iPhoto - so I had to go with something else. Since I already had this new - unopened package I opened it up. Shut down all running programs - inserted the disk and followed all the directions for installation. Still it didn't work.
I have now uninstalled it (the proper way) and am going to try again.

LNS to provide IP from Radius

Hello:
We currently use a 7301 router as an LNS and have it configured to use a local IP pool and dynamically assigns an IP address to connecting DSL modems. We would like to start providing a static IP to a username that autheticates to a radius server. I was wondering what the LNS config should have to support receiving an IP address from the radius and not using the local pool on the router. We want the LNS to take the IP address that radius would provide and send that to the dsl modem.
If anyone could help with what config items are needed to support this I would appreciate it. What we are seeing now is radius authenticates the user, sends the IP address in the FRAMED-IP but the LNS picks an IP address from the local pool and assigns it. Just wondering what we are missing here to make the 7301 assign the ip from radius.

Thank you for the suggestion. I added debug radius and this is what was returned. instead of the user getting the IP y.y.y.20 the next available IP in the DHCP local pool y.y.y.13 is assigned to the user instead.
Any other suggestions now that you are looking at ths output?

10.6.6 Server Combo Update Crashes LDAP and Kerberos Services

Just updated apple server from 10.6.4 to 10.6.6 with combo server overnight.
Everything was working fine under 10.6.4
All users can no longer authenticate to server via mail or ldap logins
LDAP and Kerberos Services stopped.
Will downgrade from an open directory master to standalone then back to master again and post status...

I think there is something with LDAP on 10.6.6
I was forced to make clean install in combo from 10.6.0 to 10.6.6 and today LDAP crashed.
It seems to be an issue on ldap ACL.

I'll try to guide you through this though I'm not sure of all the words in English...Well you see, I had just the same problem as you and tried about evertyhing. And I hopes someone would give you tje answer but they didn't so I almost gave up when I suddenly solved the problem.
What you do is this. Step by step. (On your mac-computer.) (Question-mark (?) means I'm not sure what the term is in Englis but I try to translate it word by word from Swedish)
1. Open your "Finder"
2. Click on "Programs"
3. Open the map called "tool-programs?"
4. Open the "Airport administration tools?" (It has the symbol of a roundshaped airport.)
5. Click on Setup. (In the upper left corner there are four different buttons. The third says Setup)
6. Enter the password for your basestation
7. Click on Password (the fourth button in the upper left corner with a lock as a symbol)
8. There you will have a HEX equivalent password (WEP-key) which you need for your PC.
Then you just type in this password on your PC-computer and you will soon be able to use the internet via your airport and the airtunes as well.

Can't update apps bought from different stores efficiently any more, why?

After the latest update of iTune 11, I found I can not any more update iOS Apps efficiently in iTunes. I have three different iTunes Store accounts for different country stores and they are all active.
Before this iTunes update, I had been able to update apps by store - which means when I am in a certain App Store, iTunes shows all apps need-to-update in that store only. I could press 'Update All" and sign-off so as to switch to another App Store while the updating running by itselfs and do the same in another store. This has been quite an effective way when there are more than 10 apps to update.
The new iTunes has a category "Update", which is good. However, it doesn't further categorize the apps by Store. The problem now is that I had 300+ updates waiting there and they belong to 3 stores. When I start updating with Store A, I can't sign-off (so no way to switch) until the apps update in Store A completes. Then it comes another big problem - when app No 22 to 26 were bought through Store B, 27 to 30 from Store A, 30-31 from Store C, etc, the udpate will stop when app 22 is detected and iTunes pops up a dialogue saying something like "this app was from another store, you have to switch to that store". If I don't switch, the udpate will not continue; if I do, it will stop the updating of app 20 and 21 (if haven't finished by then).
Once I switch, the same thing will repeat when app 27 is detected, then app 30, then app 32, then... then it is a total catastrophy.
On iOS devices, I don't have to switch to update apps from multiple stores, except when some apps were for certain store only, such as China Sore. Even the latter, I don't have to switch "BACK and FORTH".
Why can't iTunes on Mac do the same? At least, iTunes should continue to allow app update by Store and allow updating continues when the accounts is signed off.
Has anyone had the same problem? Is this a bug or not?

Just updated to iTunes 11 two days ago and am also seeing
the same behavior. The only way to find out if there is an update
to an app in iTunes is to enable the side bar, click on Apps. Then in
the lower right corner, click check for updates. If you are already logged
into the iTunes Store, I believe it will show the updates automatically.
But yes, it should show that an update is available in the store, as it used to.

Since I dowloaded and installed iTunes' version 11.0.5 on my MacBook, it is behaving strangely:
- displaying an alert message asing if I want to delete tracks each time I press to play one
- not playing tracks in the order they're displayed in my library, sometimes jumping from one playlist to the other
I did check my settings and preferences for playing tracks and tried changing some parameters in them, however it still doesn't help.
It seems to be a bug in iTunes' version 11.0.5 — if you had a similar experience and found how to solve this discomfort, thanks for contacting me.

How to dynamically update columns in a where clause to a SQL query in OSB?

I have a requirement where in we need to dynamically update a where clause to a SQL query in OSB(11.1.1.6.0).
For example:
If the JCA sql string is "select * from emp where emp_id = 100 and emp_status ='Permanent'" now i want to change this where clause and the new query has to be like "select * from emp where emp_name like 'S%' and emp_dept like 'IT' ". basically we need to change the where clause dynamically.
We can also use "fn-bea:execute-sql()" in a xquery but I don't want to use this function as creates a new connection.
I have done some home work and found out --> as per the DOC "http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/dev.1111/e15866/jca.htm#OSBDV943" section: "25.5.2 JCA Transport Configuration for Proxy and Business Services", when a business service is created by using JCA, we can see Interaction Spec Properties under JCA Transport Tab. This will have a property "SqlString' and we can over ride it. But I am unable to figure out how to over ride the value. I have tried by using Transport Headers activity but no luck. Please guide me how to achieve this?

I solved my problem.
In my header renderer, I simply added a line to set the text to the object value "label.setText( (String) value );" (where label is an instance of a JLabel.
