Stop including firefox plugins into safari

Hello friends,
By default, on windows safari include plugins from firefox. I want to stop this.
Or can I disable particular plugin for safari but that plugin must work on firefox?
Can you tell me any possible way?
Thanks.

Thanks for reply.
Actually I created two NPAPI plugins, one for safari and other one for firefox but with same MIME type. If we see Installed plugins in safari, both the plugins are loaded into safari. When I try to call plugin, build for safari, it will call plugin loaded from Firefox by default. I want to stop only this plugin to be loaded in safari from firefox. Can I do this and How?
I want to keep same MIME type for both plugin.

  • How to include a Plugin (dll file) in a program

How would I go about utilizing a plugin in my program. By this I mean...lets say that there is an online program for which you have to install the plugin onto your computer in order to use the program. How could I include that plugin into a program that can be used offline, or placed into an online applet, so that other people dont have to download that plugin.
Basically...I want to know how to put a plugin into my program so that no one else has to download it. Instead they just use the program, which includes the plugin.
And just so you all know, the plugin is a *.dll file. Could I just put it in an online folder, and cal to it when it is needed??
    Thanks in advance.

I apologize, but I am confused because I am not that good at this. How would I refer to it? I do not know how to write a java function so that it will call a .dll file. Also, Im not quite sure what to do when I do call it. Here is specifically what I am trying to do. The plugin that I am trying to use is a download plugin. It is used because some people use a program to upload/protect their files, and the only way to download the files is to use the plugin or the program. The thing that I am confused about is how I use the plugin in my program so that the website I want to download from sees that I have the plugin and allows me to download the files I want by using the plugin which I have stored online. Im sure that the website that I am downloading from checks to see if I have the plugin installed, so how do I make it look at the one that I have online and not search for it on my computer??? PLEASE HELP ME!!! i know that people do things like this all the time, but I am new and need a lot of help.

  • I get the following message: Mozilla Firefox plugin-container has stopped working properly. What do I do?

the message:" Mozilla Firefox plugin-container has stopped working properly" appears regularly in my maintenance center. I am on Windows 7 and Firefox 3.6.17

I had the same type of failure. It was caused by a FF upgrade from V4 to V9.1. Dearing 1955 did not say what version caused the problem. My USB ports started acting up. I could not install the Webcam that was installed before. The HP Scanner of my OJ 8500 stopped working (USB). Did get it to work via Wireless. Removing FF did not clear the problem. Believe I have infected USB driver now.

  • Mozilla Firefox plugin-container has stopped working properly

Mozilla Firefox plugin-container has stopped working properly. FOR THE UMPTEENTH DAMN TIME... HOW DO I FIX THIS on Firefox 3.6.13!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
    ''edited by a moderator - https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Forum+and+chat+rules+and+guidelines ''

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

  • How to stop Adobe Flash plugin from repeatedly crashing Firefox?

How to stop Adobe Flash plugin from repeatedly crashing Firefox?

    yeah, having the same problem.
Hulu is working on my internet explorer 8, tho... Interesting thing is that it detected I didn't have the 10.1 version of adobe flash player even though I just downloaded that on firefox. So MAYBE the problem is between firefox and adobe. Just a guess

  • Replacing Firefox plugin's functions in Safari

I'm switching from Firefox to Safari as I'm about to buy an iPhone and want my bookmarks to sync. I like the functions that some Firefox plugins offer, however, and was wondering if there was anyway to have similar features in Safari:
-Foxmarks: Free online syncing and storage of bookmarks (I know .Mac offers that feature, but I'd prefer not to pay for it)
-AdBlock Plus: Blocking ads on websites (does Saft offer that function?)
-ForecastFox: Puts the weather forecast in the statusbar
-Googlepedia: Shows the most relevant Wikipedia entry when you do a search on Google
    Thanks!

    Hi
Foxmarks - other than .Mac, 3rd party application Bookdog may offer you something similar to what you see in Firefox.
AdBlock - best ad block for Safari (other than Safari 3 Beta) is PithHelmet. Much more functional in this realm than SAFT.
    ForecastFox - nothing in Safari
Googlepedia - nadda, although Inquisitor is a very nice addition to the search function.

  • Is it possible to import bookmarks from Firefox into Safari?

Is it possible to import bookmarks from Firefox into Safari?
If so then can someone tell me how it is done?
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Hi Dimaxum,
I don't seem to be able to see the archive selection within Safari.
I found the import/export bookmarks under ,file> withing Safari but that just opens a browser box and I have no idea where to browse to to be able to find the firefox bookmarks.
Can you give me a step by step procedure?
    Really appreciate it!

  • Why hasn't Mozilla FIXED the problem in 5 months: Firefox Plugin Container Has Stopped Working. Hundreds of people posted but there is NO SOLUTION!

"Firefox Plugin Container Has Stopped Working."
Why hasn't Mozilla FIXED the problem in 5 months?
And Why is there not any answer to how to fix it that an Ordinary Person can do, without a MS degree in computer science?
I had this problem in Firefox 3.6.8 and then just downloaded version 3.6.12, the latest one, but it still happens constantly:
Hundreds of people posted in June 2010 and now the help section says: "This Question is Closed" message is at the bottom,
    But there is NO SOLUTION!

This file seems to offer as many issues as problems it's supposed to solve.
Fix your problem in 20 seconds, 15 if you copy and paste the 2 strings below:
    - Open a new tab in Firefox
    - Type "about:config" in the Address Bar (without the quotes)
    - Click "I'll be careful, I promise!"
    - Type "dom.ipc" in the Filter field on top of the page
    - 6 lines of parameters should appear, ignore the first and the last ones
    - Double-click on the 4 lines in the middle to change their value to "False"
    - Close the tab, close Firefox, restart Firefox

  • Firefox Plugins Check says I need new Quicktime - but I don't

The Mozilla "Plug-ins Check" page says I have an outdated version of QuickTime Plug-in 7.6.3. So, I click the link to update it. Which takes me to Apple's website. Where I download a new version of QuickTime 7. So I download it -- so far, so good -- but then, when I go to install it, the Install Manager says that I ALREADY have the most current version of QuickTime (version 10) on my Mac, and it won't let me proceed.
So, now what? I can't find just a "plug-in" for Quicktime on Apple's website -- the only thing to download seems to be all of Quicktime. Should I disable the Quicktime 7 plug-in on Firefox? If I do, what will happen?
I am running Mac OS 10.6.3 and QuickTime Player 10.0 (113), and Firefox 3.6.3.
    Thanks!
    == This happened ==
    Just once or twice
== I ran the Mozilla Plugin checker

The Firefox Plugins check URL does not distinguish at all between the different versions of OS X and different Apple OS X compatible computers, and the different versions of plugins for Firefox different versions of OS X, in the messages it generates.
    Therefore:
    a G3 PPC CPU machine user running OS X 10.3.9 (7W98) PPC or OS X 10.4.11 (8S2167) Intel;
    a G4 or G5 PPC CPU user running OS X 10.4.11 (8S165) PPC or OS X 10.5.8 (9L30) UB;
    an Intel CPU user running OS X 10.4.11 (8S165) Intel or OS X 10.5.8 (9L30) UB;
will ALL get messages relating to updates (of ALL types, not only QuickTime, but also including Java, Microsoft Silverlight, and others) that are compatible (at this time) with OS X 10.6.0 (10A432) Intel - OS X 10.6.5 (10H574) Intel, completely regardless as to whether they can actually run under the different versions of OS X.
    Furthermore:
    1) A number of G3 PPC CPU machines did not ship with enough VRAM (16 MB VRAM minimum required - 64 MB VRAM or higher recommended) to be officially supported under QuickTime 7 builds; If the G3 PPC CPU machine is a tower models with PCI slots, then it is possible to upgrade to a PCI video card with more VRAM to meet those hardware requirements, but G3 CPU iMac, iBook, and PowerBook users have to stay with QuickTime 6.5.2 or QuickTime 6.5.3 (some OS X users have QuickTime 6.5.3 for Panther and Tiger builds installed, from what Apple's "Software Update" used to provide...), as the VRAM cannot be upgraded on non-tower models.
Ridiculously, QuickTime 7.6.4 is the highest version that Apple supports under OS X 10.4.11 (8S165) PPC or OS X 10.5.8 (9L30) UB, and, OS X 10.4.11 users running Fiirefox 3.6.12 will get information directing them to update to QuickTime 7.6.6
QuickTime 7.6.5 and 7.6.6 are supported under OS X 10.5.8 (9L30) UB (there is no real reason that Apple couldn't have supported QuickTime 7.6.5 and 7.6.6 builds under OS X 10.4.11 (8S165) PPC or OS X 10.5.8 (9L30) UB as well, as it's the same code base, besides the fact that Safari v4.1.3 (4533.19.4) for OS X 10.4.11 (8S165) PPC and OS X 10.5.8 (9L30) UB was just issued by Apple, so the 15 million G4 and G5 PPC users get updates for OS X 10.4.11 without getting a QuickTime 7 update keeping pace)
The new QuickTime X is for OS X 10.6.x ONLY (currently OS X 10.6.0 (10A432) Intel - OS X 10.6.5 (10H574) Intel), and uses a different code base than QuickTime 7. Therefore, no one expects QuickTime X for OS X 10.4.11 builds, although QuickTime X still could be ported for the most recent OS X 10.5.x build, if Apple wanted to.
In conclusion, be forewarned as well, that before updating any version of QuickTime 7 or installing OS X 10.5.x or OS X 10.6.x, OS X users should always back up ALL the contents of these folders:
    /Library/QuickTime
    and
    System/Library/QuickTime
    and
    ~/Library/QuickTime
as some of Apple's installers and updaters can wipe the QuickTime files (codecs and components), installed in those locations.
I hope this information helps shed some light on these subjects...

  • Java plugin crashing Safari 4.0.3

When I try opening a webpage with and applet in it, Safari freezes, and if I try to stop it or open a new webpage it crashes. I have tried everything suggested in other threads and nothing has worked so far. I disabled all plugins in Safari preferences and found that the one making it crash is JavaPluginCocoa. I have looked into the user/library/internet plug-ins folder and the file is not duplicated. I have tried loging in with a different user and Safari still crashes. Some help will be greatly appreciated because this is being going for a while. If it is of any help the webpage I'm trying to access when Safari crashes is www.bmv.com.mx, when I click in the IPC link under Indices it opens it but then it freezes.

    LG --
Yes, your Safari crash report would be very helpful.
But what your console log is referring to is
your Mac can't find the slideshow that you've set up as your screensaver.
Maybe try a new screensaver, or even better, turn off the screensaver altogether to test.

  • I can't get into safari!! When ever I try to go into safari, it's a blank screen

I can't get into safari!! When ever I try to go into safari, it's a blank screen and then it goes back into the homepage

Sorry you did not get an answer to this, but I do note you are apparently now using firefox 10.0.2.
One reason for the rapid release cycle that Firefox has now adopted is to keep firefox secure and up to date. You may even find Firefox itself offers some of the facilities that the troublesome AVG offers. And MS offer free AV with MS security essentials.
AVG often seems to cause problems with firefox.

Safari problem:  when I switch back into safari from another application, the menu bar comes up but no tabs or windows.  What's going on?  Just started yesterday.  I have found a workaround: when I Command Tab back to safari, I hit command T to open a new tab and Command W to close it, and my other tabs are visible.
I have tried shutting down, closing tabs, with no success.  What's going on and how can I fix it?
    Thanks,
    Cindi B
PS:  I'm not sure of the actual OS level, but I have not allowed it to upgrade to Maverick yet; concerned about it because of a few things I've read...

A Safari extension or third party plugin may be causing the menu bar issue.
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab. Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, try troubleshooting third party plug-ins.
Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the Security tab. Deselect:  Allow plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.
As for which OS X is installed.
Click the Apple () menu top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac.
    The version is noted there.
v10.6 Snow Leopard v10.7 Lion  v10.8 Mountain Lion
It's your choice whether or not to upgrade to Mavericks. If you decide to do this, make sure your Mac meets the requirements noted here.

  • How can I import my IE8 bookmarks/favorites into Safari if I only have access to the data stored on my old hard drive? I can't run Windows to export them to an html file.

My old PC died and I replaced it with a MacBook Pro.  Although I was able to copy the data from the PC's hard drive, I am unable to export my previous bookmarks/favorites to an html file because that PC won't boot.  Is there any other way to import them into Safari using the raw data stored on that drive or convert them somehow to a format I can import?

You can only use a JSON backup to restore all bookmarks in Firefox.<br />
If you need to import Firefox bookmarks in Safari then you need to (re)install Firefox and export the bookmarks to an HTML file.

  • How do I stop the Firefox pop ups on the Firefox 4 homepage, now?

I uploaded the new Firefox 4. My default page now just appears with non-stop pop-ups that ask me to be sent to various places to learn stuff. There seems to be no way to get rid of them. I will stop using Firefox altogether if I cannot.
Here is a sample of text within the box. There are embedded links that take me to the site if I click. If this one does not pop up another one does. They seem endless. I don't want them.
Take Firefox 4 anywhere you go! Firefox 4 for Android and Maemo is live and ready for you to enjoy. Get it now.
I do not want it or anything else now! I just want a home page without demands. How do I get rid of these pop up boxes. Or should I just go to explorer. By the way, I went through the procedures to stop Firefox pop ups and it had no effect whatsoever and was unclear about how to fix the problem.
    Help! Thanks

What the hell are you talking about? I have the same problem and this has nothing to do with malware or bad websites. I just upgraded to firefox 4, and everytime I reload google home page (house icon), mozilla posts and displays a stupid advertising message right below the google search bar (incorporated into google code page display). Message such as "Take Firefox 4 anywhere you go! Firefox 4 for Android and Maemo is live and ready for you to enjoy. Get it now - you like firefox 4? learn more etc...". Refresh google.com on f4 and you'll see them too. I don't know how you browse but you must have less sophisticated habits.
This can get very aggravating for people that use very often the refresh icon in order to refresh or launch a new search, which makes more sense for me for a few reasons:
I like to be looking at the center point of my screen and not on the little Google window on the top right. I'm not looking INTO my screen's corners. But INTO my screen.
I very often refresh, almost in between every page since I do rarely navigates from one page to another, but usually launch my own search.
I do a lot of searches. Image... text.. articles. Mostly worked-based.
I have this habit and I am not going to drop it.
Anyway.. Please drop the condescending "buddy" every two lines, and be assured that it is a Firefox problem. I have the same problem as drmiller333.
Does anyone have found a way to stop this?
Does it stops after a few days?
I just downgraded back to firefox 3.6. I would like to benefit the new engine and updates coming with f4 but I won't as long as Mozilla keeps posting those aggravating messages. I don't give a f... about "android, maemo" or "how to learn more about how awesome is mozilla".
I may move to chrome is they don't do something for it.
