Stop Motion using photos + combining with video clips

We have about 3000 sequenced photos we want to put together into a Stop Motion video. We would also like to add an actual video clip to the beginning and to the end of the Stop Motiuon segment. Can this all be done in Premiere Pro? If so how? If not - what other Creative Cloud programs should we use and how?

I'm using iMovie on my iPad 2. when I import a jpeg from my desktop and use it in a video clip it is so large in the frame it is not usable. No matter how I resize it in photoshop it's still the same. When I take a photo with the iPad it's no problem.

I'm using my ipad2 with iMovie. When I import photos from my pc and try to use them they are huge. Even when I resize them in photoshop they are still huge and unusable. How do I resize them?

Are you asking how to use Photoshop?
Or are you asking for the dimensions of video iMovie uses?
It edits in 720P HD, which is 1280x720.
You can make it a bit bigger so you can zoom in.
Much bigger then this is a waste of time.

Merge Still Photos with Video Clips?

I have an iMovie project containing only video clips in the timeline, arranged by capture date/time. I also have an iPhoto file containing still photos of similar material. How can I import all of the iPhoto stills into the iMovie project such that the photos are inserted within the timeline and combined with the video clips so that everything (photos and videos) is arranged by date/time? Is that possible? If not, can someone suggest a script that will do just that?

iM is no 'scriptable' app, video editing is usually no process for any automatic tasks...
I would...
* give the photos some names which indicates where in timeline of the iM project they belong (numbers 1,2,...? a date...?)
* place photos manually into time of project...
... yes, video-editing is sometimes a painstaking, time-consuming tasks ... ;))

Working with video clips

Ok I obviously have some time on my hands and I'm getting ready to start using Motion more often the AE for projects so here is another question(s).
In short how do you make a still frame in the middle of a video clip that will hold through the remaining duration of the project. (i.e. batter swings and hits ball but now i want the motion to stop at the moment of contact).
Also I can't seem to find any section in the user manual that talks about the various way to manipulate a video clips timing.

Let me address your 2nd question 1st. Have a look at a post a little further down the forum index called 'Changing the speed of a video clip' by Mr Myth - that should answer your timing question.
If you drop a video clip onto the canvas, and then click on 'project' on the toolbar to reveal the project layers at the side of the canvas, you can then click on the 'media' tab and set the end condition, so you can make the final frame repeat as a still image. (I'm working from memory here, as I don't have motion on this laptop I'm using, so someone correct me if I've got this wrong!)
Also, if you select the movie clip in the canvas (or on the layers view) you can then use the 'inspector' to adjust things like the in and out points etc etc.
Keep on plugging away at Motion - I'm sure once you get a grip of it's powerful features you will come to love it.
Also, Use the search on this forum to find topics starting with 'Fun with' and you'll find examples (incl projects) of just what you can do with Motion.
And look on the motion 'help' menu and do those tutorials - they are absolutely priceless.

Photoshop Elements 9 Downloader crash with video clips on memory card

I have a Canon SX30IS. When I use PSE9 to download from memory card, if there are any videos present on the card, the Photo Downloader crashes.
I believe that it is something to do with Apple Quicktime. When I uninstall Quicktime , PSE downloader does not crash while importing media form this camera, but cannot play video clips. On reinstalling Quicktime , the PSE downloader crashes while searching the memory card for media.
I have not upgraded PSE twice now because of this crash. What makes it worse is that Apple Quicktime is a very poor media player, managing about 2FPS on the video clips from this camera when both the Canon and the VLC video codecs can manage 30FPS.
I would much prefer if I could choose to use a video renderer, like using any available Windows codecs rather than insisting on using annoying Apple software.

Please let me know the mode in which camera/card reader is connected to the system (USB/PTP/MTP). This can be determined from camera.
Please try to follow:
1. Navigate to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 9 Organizer\PhotoDownloader.exe.
2. Right click on 'PhotoDownloader.exe' and select 'Properties'.
3. Naviage to 'compatability' tab and click on 'Run this program in comptability mode for' and select 'win xp service pack 3'.
4. In the same dialog, click on 'Run this program as an admin' under 'privelage level'.
5. Now run the: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 9 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe as an administrator.
Please let me know if you face any issues in following the steps.

1. There are NO - Play All - button in any version of iDVD
2. It can be faked in several ways
• Easies and most fault proof way is to make a doublet movie containing All and with
Chapters set to match. It will take up x2 space but is easy to understand and produce.
• It's said that one can put all movies into a Photo/SlideShow and this will also
give the function of a Play All button - Never tested though.
• Using another program to do this eg. Roxio Toast™ where there ia a Play All button option.

You might be able to get close to what you want by using a slideshow in iDVD. (It's not widely known, but you can put videos in a slideshow.) If you set the slide duration to manual, playback will pause after each movie/slide, and you can continue with the 'next' button.

Bluetooth File Transfer Problem with Video Clips -...

I am posting this problem even though a similar one is claimed to be solved ...
I have a similar Problem with BT video clip file transfer in my E5-00 as someone had earlier with music files (SW up to date). Except that in this case the files are unique video clips received from one of the latest Samsung Android phones via Bluetooth (don't ask me which format).
Tried the obvious first, using Windows File Manager over USB. Even Windows Search could not locate the files, not even using wildcards.
Also tried using Ovi Suite Syncronisation, but the files did not appear in either Photos/Videos or Messages (even though the files are in the SMS Inbox - does not make sense why).
The problem in applying the solution approach presented here for Music seems to be that the files cannot be played at all in my E5-00's. Therefore I don't get as far as to the menu where the E5 would ask whether or not the files should be saved or not.
So far I have not been able to connect to an old bluetooth laptop (Windows XP) so that the Bluetooth Exchange would connect let alone seen whether the BTexchange works in this case or not.
Is there any other chance of getting to the files through the directory structure? If so, please give me the (Windows) directory path? Any other advice than switching to Android?

Trying to add effects to a stop motion using Adobe

Hello everyone. I make stop motion films and am tired of having the ameteur look of not having effects. I am trying to learn how to add backgrounds using greenscreens, maybe put images/videos(animated and/or realistic) of things like fire, lasers, etc. and I'm just wondering, does Adobe supply some sort of program that could allow me to do this? I just don't even know where to begin. I've taken a course in Flash animation and so I'm familiar with what it can do, I'm just not sure if I'm able to add images I've created in Flash to a stop motion film in another editing program. I hope I'm making sense, can anybody help me out?

Problem with video clips in Elements

Video clips that I've taken with my Canon DSLR cannot be opened in my organizer. If I try to open them the system crashes. I have a Win 7 - 64 bit op sys with enough memory to choke a horse. I fairly familar with how this stuff works but this one has got me stumped. I have opened them before but something has changed and I don't know what. Even when I opened them before they played poorly ... start and stop motion. I went through all the prodceedures to correct (updated V card drivers and such) but nothing helped. Anyone got any ideas? Emails with video clips

Every since I downloaded Mountain Lion, emails sent to me, with attached video clips do not play the audio. I can view the clip, just no audio. Suggestions?

Moving audio tracks to on 2nd layer synch with video clip on first layer

Hi all; greetings to Tom, Ian B and Piero - and many thanks to all for your help in the past. My question is I want to overlay a video clip as a second layer in FCE and sync up the sound with the first. The first layer is a video of a song, the second layer I want to add has different video - 3 short clips as 3 short .MOV files - but same sound track. So I need to EXACTLY match the sound of the second to the lips of the singer in the first. Can any one help me to figure out how can I slip the audio track left and right easily and precisely. I have done it in iMovie by dragging the sound bar but need to use FCE this time. Many thanks to all as always.

Unlink the audio and video tracks.
Select the track/s you want to move and hit the + or - key.
A box appears under the Timeline Ruler, type in a value to move the track/s forward or back then hit Enter/Return to activate the change.
eg. +1 is one frame forward.
Note: The clips won't move if there are other clips in the way preventing movement.

I have a very important presentation I need, it has some video clips in I created in LiveType, and I export to Quicktime, using the default settings, it keeps crashing. The last time I tried it was this morning, it processed for 2 hours, at the last slide was when it froze up and crashed my computer. I am in desparate need of help. What am I doing wrong? I am using Quicktime Pro 7.0.4

Recording Ppt presentation interspersed with video clips on DVD

I want to record a live presentation I make with Powerpoint slides interspersed with shots of me and video clips. Is this possible with iDVD version 7.0.4?

Welcome to the forums.
If you'd like all that to be integrated, you probably want to look into iMovie. In general, iDVD handles the output from iMovie and creates DVDs, but iMovie allows the producer (you) to cut between shots of ppt slides, you, video clips, etc. Here are several tutorials which may be of interest:
