Stop motion with flash

Hi everyone.
i want to create an animation with stop motion. Create a sequence with 160 photos numbered continuous.
It's with flash cs3.

It will be easy if you have your photos all named in a similar and sequential manner (ex: img1, img2, img3, etc) located in the same folder. All you need to do is start the process of importing the first image to the stage, and midway thru that the program should recognize it is part of a series of images and will ask if you want to import the whole series, which you will say yes to. I think it also asks if you want them arranged frame after frame (or assumes it), so you should end up with all of the images planted in the timeline for you in sequence.

So Flash Player today decided it doesn't want to work with my webcam. I have pulled my hair out trying to figure out what the problem is. The camera works fine with other video camera software, such as Adobe Flash Live Encoder 3.1, for example, or the various Microsoft cam tools. But Flash Player just won't see it. When I visit a website that uses the camera through flash, all I get is a black box. I never get the privacy screen that asks me if I would like to allow the site temporary access to my camera.If i go into my settings, and go to the camera tab, it shows my camera device in the dropdown box. But you know how if you double-click the little box under the dropdown, it should activate your camera and display a little video inside that box? That doesn't work for me. All I get is this:
It doesn't matter if I use FF or IE. I've re-installed Flash Player, both the FF version and the Ax version. To no avail. I've logged into my computer as a different user, because hell maybe it's some weird dumb thing in the Flash Player cache or something. Nope.
Now here's the super, super, super annoying part: I just recently moved to this laptop and one of the things I was looking forward to was a computer where my webcam would FINALLY work with flash player again. Yes, that's right: my old computer had this exact same problem. And in both cases, at one point the camera worked with Flash player no problem, and then at some point, it just stopped working.
This makes me think, of course, that the problem is some nefarious piece of software I've installed, but I can't think of what that is. I know the camera was working with my new computer as early as last week. Recently I've installed a bunch of software, including Adobe Media Live Encoder 3.1, Flash Professional CS5, and the Adobe Connect add-in. I've uninstalled everything except CS5, because, hey, who wants to re-install that if they don't have to? I'll do that as a last result, but the guy sitting next to me has the entire CS5 suite installed and camera works fine for him with Flash Player (same exact hardware too), so I don't think it's that. Other than that, I dunno. I've got VS2008 and 2010 installed. GoToMeeting. Office. That's about it.
So. Any ideas? Any thoughts on how I could even start to debug the issue? Logging or something? Any help is much appreciated.

Solution:
Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\mms.cfg
Set
AVHardwareDisable=1
to:
AVHardwareDisable=0
Restart your browser. Done. Camera works now.
I really want to shout this solution from the rooftops, because try Googling the solution sometime. I did. I failed. You will too. Hopefully if I use some more 18-point bold font, Google will index it faster, because that's the way it works right?
I actually had no idea that Flash Player has a folder in Windows\system32 at all, and I definitely had no idea that this file existed. I am guessing some stinking app I installed decided I needed AVHardwareDisable set to 1 for some reason (effers). I found out about the location by just lazily searching through the windows registry for "Flash Player" and eventually saw it pointing to that directory. A little more poking around and I found this file.
Those of you who actively support this forum: please keep this in the back of your mind, next time someone has audio/video input problems with Flash Player. I've found an awful lot of forum posts from people with cameras not working, and I bet a good portion of them need this fix. Reinstalling Flash Player will not fix it. Here's hoping the solution comes up in Google for the next unlucky soul.

Stop-motion with camera?

I have a school project where I need to animate a stop-motion video. We used a Canon 7D to take pictures and I imported them in lightroom. What I need to do now is take all of these frames and put them together to make the video. I tried manually doing it, but it came out all shaky. There has to be an easier way then to manually do it like that.

I'm guessing that the jerkiness is based on the camera's moving from one photo to the next. While Flash has an onion-skin function for the timeline, aligning a lot of imported photos will be a long and painful process. Flash isn't really the right tool for this sort of thing. Photoshop, on the other hand, has a crop and straighten photos function that will organize all of your photos while you sit and sip your coffee. It's in the File... Automate... menu. When you have the photos aligned and cropped, you can then export a video file straight from Photoshop.

Stop Motion With OnLocation CS4???

I'm missing something here I think. There are also no references to Stop Motion or Time Lapse in the Help Files of OnLocation CS4...
There are at least Help files on Stop Motion and Time Lapse in CS3.
How do you do Stop Motion in CS4?
In CS3 there was a Stop Motion button you pressed to record the screen and move on to the next frame using the SplitScreen Overlay to create an Onion Skin affect.
But how do you achieve this with CS4 as there is no stop motion button!

Yes, I still have CS3 version, but I was hoping for more improvement rather than a complete drop.
Even with the CS3 version, when you took a few frames and then played back, you then could no longer capture frames to the same timeline. Capturing another frame started another timeline, which was a nuisance.
Anyway we bit the bullet as we need to use tools that do what we want rather than using a tool that restricts us to doing things according to what it decides we should do, so we purchased Stop Motion Pro HD on Friday.
Anyway Onlocation should never have been the tool to do stop motion, if you are out on a location, when do you get the time needed to do it? How many people would have actually used the stop motion option while out on a location like a beach or street or field. Maybe thats why it wasn't used very often.
Stop motion should be an option with Premiere Pro as this would be a studio environment anyway?
I bet if it was available in Premiere Pro, Adobe would see more activity of the stop motion "feature"?

Perl cgi upload stopped working with Flash 10

First let me just say that PHP is not an option in my environment. Its just not allowed to be used.
I have some really basic Perl upload scripts that work find with flash 9 and below. However since flash 10 these no longer work. I tried using FileRefernce and while I can get all my values as defined by the

The resolution was easy. Use the default value for Filedata passed from filereference

Since installing firefox4.0b5 sound has stopped working with flash. Still works normally with 3.6.x and was working with 4.0b1

Yesterday I downloaded the latest nightly build of minefield and flash stopped working. I re-installed flash, still now joy. I copied all plugins from usr/lib64/plugins to .plugins and videos then played in flash but without sound. Sound continues to work normally in Firefox3.6.x and in Opera. Distribution is Mandriva2010 Spring

Strange, it is now working again, I can't think of anything I have changed. - I uninstalled nspluginwrapper and re-installed it, re-booted and that didn't seem to make any difference but just clicked on a video and it played fine with sound. Really annoying because I don't know what to do next time if it happens again.

Stop motion movie

I'm planning on making a stop motion movie. We've been brain storming a couple ideas and we have some in mind. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for a stop motion movie, or even a regular movie. Our best idea so far was two people skateboarding but with out skateboards. Each one would be trying to out do eachothers tricks. Does anyone have any ideas. We would give you credit in the movie. just so you know were not some kids that don't know what we're doing, we've won 2 contest so far and many more to come.

Combining stop motion clips into one?

Hi I am trying to create a stop motion music video(1 minute long) but considering what is the best method to take. Everything in the scene will be moving through stop motion. Can I create separate motion clips for each element in the movie and then combine them in layers in after effects and using the transparency to get rid of the background information in each clip(im using just a white background)
OR will I need to do the stop motion with all the elements moving together?

You could do it that way, using a white background and making that transparent. Making white disappear is not trivial.
But "create separate motion clips for each element in the movie and then combine them in layers in after effects and using the transparency to get rid of the background information" is a highly unusual way to approach stop motion. You would only do it that way if your individual elements or characters do not interact with each other in any physical or implied way on your set. I think most of us would use a dedicated stop motion application with onion skinning and variable playback to an external monitor, create scenes with all active elements, edit the scenes together with music and sound effects and dialog in a video editor and use After Effects for effects and compositing.
Have you done stop motion before? If so, what made you decide to, or what about this particular project suggests that you try this approach?

Deflicker in Stop Motion when the usual plugins wont work?

The movie is a stop motion with a coloured background made up out of tiles. (I can't upload it because the client won't be very happy seeing his project online)
Guys walk around flipping the tiles and thus the colour. This way each time a new logo is formed.
At the last minute they decided the scene would be bigger so I bought a new and untested 17-40L canon lens, unfortunately this gave some pretty bad and unregular aprture flicker.
The problem is any plugin I tried, sees the guys walking in and out of the frame as flicker, since they just watch the histogram.
Is there any tool I can use that just lets me pick a point and stabilizes the scene in regard to that one point.
Then I can keyframe it everytime a guy might walk in front of it, or it changes to another colour.
I also tried change to color because the background is always made up out of just two colours, but this either gives me a very noisy result or it affects skin tones with the slightly reddish backgrounds.
All the auto correction functions have too much effect on the overal look of the clip which is very bright and coloured, so no shadow area's and no neutral grays.
The best result I had was with a time blend. This was incredibly smooth in terms of brightness, but ofcours the client will not be happy about the people in the frame being warped over 5-10 frames.

Thanks for the reply.
We did extensive testing before the shot, since this couldn't be redone. The mistake was buying a new and untested lens relying on Canon and the fame of L lenses.
Next time I have to use this lens I'll put in a grey card which I'll crop out.
The camera was set on manual and raw. The development was focused on reducing small changes by pulling shadows and highlights.
The mishap was the new lens which didn't open and close reliably at F8. Meaning there where small differences in the opening at F8.
Like I explained Color Stabilizer won't work because of the lack of black or midpoints.
Forget all of the above
I just realized I do have a black and grey point.
When I cropped from 2*3 to 16*9, I cropped out a black tripod leg with a grey wheel.
But before I do another export of +10k raws, can you use the color stabilizer on just a black and grey? I do have higlights but they are never in the same place and never get exactly the same lighting.

Making a stop motion movie with stills. Please help!

I have a question for someone really smart:)... I am making a stop motion movie on imac with still photos. when i select a photo from iPhoto, and add it to the imovie project, it is adding multiples of each picture and i have NO idea why. I dont know if i changed a setting somewhere or what. This simple project went from fun to frustrating pretty quick. Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance.

• Log out and into this
• Now test iMovie and see if all is OK
If not - the problem might lay in iPhoto photo-library - To try to mend this - YOU NEED TIMES - lot's of times - did it Yesterday > 8 hours !
When nothing but Mac OS is up and running
• Keep alt+cmd-keys down - During Full Up-Start of iPhoto
• Now You get a Menu
• Select all options
• KEEP Mac connected to Power-Mains as if lap-top battery might not last the full process
• Have a nice day / book or whatever - as this will take long long time !

Slow motion recording and playback with Flash Player with web browers

Hi,
I am using a MacBook, have installed Flash Player 10, and everything was great until a couple of days ago. Then, my audio playback with Flash seems to be in slow motion. I record my voice in this program call Voicethread using either Safari or Firefox and what it should be a 3 seconf audio track seems to be elongated to 9, streching my voice like it is on slow motion. I have tried everything that it is recommended (restaring, uninstallins, reinstalling, etc) and NOTHING... I have spent hours already trying to fix this issue that came from nowhere... 36 hours ago was working just perfectly!
Any suggestions?

Adobe Flash Player has also been crashing periodically on 2 of my computers, I'm still running XP, one of them a powerful HTPC, Dell Optiplex 755 SFF over a new Cable Internet Connection. Buffering, Lagging, crashing when streaming video for Catchup TV (Freeview) via Firefox Adobe Flash Player Add-On, does not happen on Youtube though. Lagging & Crashing does NOT occur AT ALL in Google Chrome, but I hate that browser.
Have tried the usual disabling Flash Hardware Acceleration + Protected Mode, setting storage to Unlimited, disabling FF Ad Blockers + Hardware Acceleration, cleaning Caches, updating program versions, everything bar reinstalling programs. It's not happening in Chrome, why in Firefox?

How to make stop motion animation in flash

Hello,
I'm new to Flash (using Flash CS5.5 on Mac OSX) and am trying to make a stop motion animation using photos that were created in a layered psd file and then turned into individual jpegs. There are many of them (400 and will be more) and I'm trying to find a way to make the process more automated.
What I think I want to do is import the images into the Flash library and then have each image be a blank keyframe. I can do this by copying and pasting into place each individual image, but this is way too time consuming. I assume there is some straightforward way to automate copying and pasting each images into consecutive blank keyframes... but so far haven't had much luck.
Open to other suggestions and appreciate any help!

If your images are named sequentially (as in img1,img2,etc..) and are located in the same folder, when you use Import To Stage, Flash should recognize there is a series and will offer to import them all. The process also includes importing them into sequential keyframes.

Standalone (.exe) Flash 8 apps have stopped working with blank white screen

We have some standalone executable flash applications coded with Flash 8. These are the Microsoft Office 2007 command reference guides produced by Microsoft. Recently they have stopped working and now just display as a blank white screen when run.
As they are self contained Flash 8 movies, I'm unsure what would cause this.
Any ideas please? Could they be converted to a later version somehow? Or converted back to SWF so they can be recompiled back to exe with a later version of Flash? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Problem with stop motion film

I want to make a stop motion movie. But when I upload the pictures imovie automatically makes them "zoom in". instead of each picture just shwoing it zzoms in and out of each one which looks stupid when you're trying ot make a stop motion.

Go to FILE/PROJECT PROPERTIES and change the default action for your project. It is currently set to Ken Burns. Change it to FIT (letterbox) or CROP (will fill the screen by cropping your photo.)
This will work for new photos you bring into the project. For photos already their, use the Rotate, Crop, Ken Burns Tool and select FIT or CROP.

Firefox crashes when loading any page with flash. I have tried all available fixes including plugin updates. If I disable flash the crashes stop, but no flash.

Firefox crashes on any page with flash. I have the most recent version of Firefox on OSX Snow Leopard. I have made sure that I have all the most recent plugins and extensions and I am not running any custom theme. I have completely un-installed and re-installed Firefox and flash to no avail. I think the problem is in some user preference, but I cannot seem to find it. If I log out and use a different user on my machine, Firefox does not have the flash crash problem.

JYOuyang: I have the correct plugin for Flash. My problem is not the "Flash crashed" icon, which would be generally acceptable, but FIREFOX crashing, usually rather dramatically. I have since regressed to Firefor 3.6.3. I am still using Flash 10.1, the newest version. This no longer causes Firefox to crash. Now then -- if the same plugin causes no crashes in the new version of Firefox and does cause crashes in the prior version, it is not exactly a humongous leap to conclude that maybe, just maybe, there was a bug introduced in Firefox 3.6.4? I mean, it's not as if a major feature of 3.6.4 was a significant change in how plugins interact with the browser or anything... oh, wait, there was, wasn't there? Hmmm. Saying "It's Adobe's fault!" rings a little hollow when the 10.1 plugin works correctly in the prior version of Firefox. Any kind of host/plugin model relies on a contract between the host and the plugin, and when there's a crash, it indicates one side or the other broke that contract. Under the circumstances, it's difficult not to suspect the blame for this lies on the Firefox side. It's certainly possible that Adobe's code IS broken and the problem is that it SHOULD work with the new version of Firefox, if it were properly written, but it's not, so it doesn't. However, no one seems to want to dig down to find out or provide a workaround other than regressing to 3.6.3, so that's what I've done -- Firefox does too many other things right for me to switch browsers at this point.
