This was EXACTLY what I needed about the purchases I made from my device. However, is there a way to re-download other ones you've made from a computer? Because I realized some of them were not just purchased from my device.

As you can see, the stuff circled in red doesn't give me an option to download from Cloud Beta because it already says "downloaded".

Short version: iTunes will transfer the purchases made from the iTunes Store on your iPhoneh to your computer. It treats all other music and video syncing as a one-way street, to comply with copyright laws (wont sync stuff not purchased through iTunes from your iPhone to your computer).

I wanted to import about 10000 documents (Word and Pages formats, less than 1 Gb) from Macbook to iPhone, using iCloud. After I downloaded about 5000 files and created some folders in Pages, new documents no longer appear in my. I have enough free space in iCloud. What should I do to transfer the remaining files? I moved files from My documents/Macbook to Pages/iCloud/Macbook, then, after appearing in Pages/iCloud/iPhone, I distributed them to folders that I created in Pages/iCloud/iPhone (about 500 files per folder). If I wiped my phone I wouldn't have the contacts on my phone to send to my self. I would need to take just the contacts from my back up. I would have to do this through iTunes and I don't see how I can just extract the contacts only from my back up. From what I can figure out it is all or nothing

you can't sync songs from your phone to your computer, syncing is a computer to phone process. if you purchased songs on your phone from itunes and want them to go to your computer so you can listen to them there, you right-click on the name of your phone in itunes and choose 'transfer purchases.' these are the only songs that will go in that direction

I've had the same problem, synced yesterday and I've lost all my events in my calendar. Restored my phone,not worked, deleted icloud that hasnot worked,nothing is coming up at all on icloud calendar, and my mac was backed up when I plugged in today so not backed up on that. I would like to sync my iPhone to iCloud (since MobileMe is about to be removed) for backup, but my desktop Mac doesn't connect to iCloud as I run Snow Leopard (not running Lion, and I have no intention of installing Lion, having heard how many problems that caused to my friends).

I would have to look at iTunes on an older version of OS X (I run Lion), but I believe it is possible to sync contacts on the phone with both Address book and iCloud via iTunes. This is normally a bad idea as the assumption is you would be syncing the Mac Address book with iCloud and would end up creating a sync loop and duplicate entries with every sync. You'll have to see.
It might be a better idea to switch to syncing contacts with Google until and unless you intend to upgrade OS X to Lion.

Pse excuse myself for being such a noob. I am trying to sync music from which i have ripped from cd's to itunes using icloud. When i go into the purchased section there is no music to sync obviously as i havent purchased any music only ripped cd's. Why would you lose anything? Your contacts will be in whatever desktop program you have chosen to sync your contacts with, your Apps should be in your iTunes Library, and everything else should be on your computer too (assuming you've been syncing/backing up as designed).
Are you trying to sync music from a different computer than you normally use?

Videos will not sync to iPhone from iTunes

Movies (Videos) will not sync to an iPhone 4S from iTunes Mac. They can be downloaded and played from iCloud. They sync to other iOS devices, just not this one.
Music does sync as do other media. When I try Movies (Video) I spend long minutes watching "Waiting for changes to be applied". I suspect it's timing out.
I don't see anything in Console. It doesn't matter whether Movie is DRMd or home.
I've restared phone and desktop. I wiped the phone and restored from Backup. I suspect if I wiped phone and treated at as NEW phone it would work, but I'd lose game settings, some data, etc. I haven't tried 'manual' management of music and video, I really dislike that. I did try dragging a movie to the iPhone manually, that behaved like sync.
I've used PhoneView, an OS X utility for browing phone to look for stuck or unexpect media. There are no Voice Memos and no Voicemail messages.
In iTunes, if I expand the Devices tree for the phone, and inspect Movies, I see the movies that have downloaded via iCloud. Movies that are supposed to sync from iTunes show with a grayed out font and dotted viewing status circle.
Any ideas? Any references to a technical description of the iTunes sync process?

A colleague on App.net (@gaelicwizard) came up with the fix for being unable to sync video to the iPhone. It suggests the bug is on the iPhone, and since a wipe/restore didn't fix it the bug is transmitted with the backup.
The fix was to setup iTunes on another account on the same machine, then sync the iPhone to THAT account. This wipes out all media and photos. When I did that I could sync a video to the iPhone.
I then synced the iPhone BACK to the original iTunes account -- this wiped all media again. This time though I could sync video from the original iTunes. I restored all of the media and was good to go again.
I still wonder if this bug is related to the fix for the 7.0 CloudAssets bug that was fixed in 7.1. There was also something odd about the movie 'Frozen' where the Cloud version and local iTunes version seemed somehow different...
