Stop opening after send to print

Hello,
I am on a Windows 7 Home Premium, SP1, computer using Adobe Reader X1. How do I turn off the function that causes the software/application to open each time a document is either saved or printed to a pdf file format? Thank you in advance.

Corrupt or damaged file after sending to print

I'm using CS3 and when I email files to print they are not able to open bc damaged or corrupt. We use at least 4 printers-this is the only one that has problems with the files.
I've heard I need to save down to CS1 is this correct? Or not necessary-The printer I am sending to have CS3 as well...
They are placing files in Illustrator...but sometimes downloading them and then opening them..
Any suggestions? This is becoming a problem

I'm not up on all of the latest offerings. However...
I hear WinZip is still the most popular. It is supposed to be easy to use.
I use PKZip and like it.
Another option is Smith Micro's StuffIt (which I also keep on my machine), which can create both .zip and .sit/.sitx archives.

ISync stops opening after 10.4.7 update

I just updated my MacBook Pro with 10.4.7 then tried to open iSync and nothing happened it no longer completely starts. It bounces in the doc for a while then it just stops. I thought I would give it some time so I left it for about 15min and it still had not started properly so I force quitted it and tried again. I also cannot change my .Mac sync settings either. The system preferences stalls as well as soon as you click the iSync settings.
this was working fine before i updated to 10.4.7

There is a discussion thread <http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=496689&tstart=0> that is about this very same problem occurring in 10.4.6. Some other possible solutions may be found there, although I've had no success with any that have been offered.

I'm going to assume that the crash report from the preference pane crash and the iSync.app crash are the same as since it is writing to the same SyncServer.crash.log file. If it would be helpful for me to provide the SyncServer.crash.log file from the preference pane crash, I'd be happy to.

PSE 8 Editor has stopped opening after using three times; anyone know why?

The PSE 8 Editor has completely stopped working. I used it a couple times and now it is just dead (I haven't used it in over a year - still doesn't work). I get the program interface, but only editor does not respond. What's wrong? I was using an older version of PSE without any problems and loved it, but had to upgrade when I got a Windows 7 computer. I feel like this program was a big waste of money.

Open Windows Explorer
C drive>Program Files (x86)>Adobe>Photoshop Elements 8.
Right click on this and select "send to desktop"
Close Windows Explorer
Double click the shortcut on your desktop. That should open it. Let us know how you make out.

Why my iTunes stopped opening after years of working perfectly fine?

I tried to uninstall and reinstall it and it still doesn't work. The page where you agree to the iTunes Software Liscence Agreement appears and then I click Agree. (Everytime I try to open iTunes, that agreement appears!) And after that, iTunes still doesn't open.

Pavillion TouchSmart touch stopped working after HP Photosmart Printer Installed

I bought a new HP Paviliion TouchSmart 23-h056 All-In-One and the touch screen worked just fine. I then installed a HP Photosmart 7520 All-In-One printer/scanner/copier and the mouse pointer works on the screen, but the touch on the monitor no longer works. The system came pre-installed with Windows 8.1. Please help!!!

Cselas1962, welcome to the forum.
Here is the Win 8.1 driver for the printer. I suggest checking to see if the driver that is installed is the same or newer. If the one in the link is newer, you should install it to see if that helps. It could be that there is a driver conflict with the driver for the Touch screen.

I sent a very large message in iMessage and it failed to send and ever since it will not send messages to anyone! I have tried turning off and on the iPod and nothing has worked!!

I made it about halfway before my trial expired, but that was enough to convince me that Adobe was a worthwhile product. So I joined the Creative Cloud, taking advantage of the sale for educators.
Now, I can no longer open any of the projects from the book. Whether I try to open the original project, or one that I've edited on, I get the same message:
"This project contained a sequence that could not be opened. No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type."
I'm concerned. There are several things about this I find alarming.
So, can someone help me? What's the magic fix to get this up and runing again? Or have I made a horrible, horrible mistake, and should I quick cancel before my 30 days to do so expires?

The Deactivate/Reactivate method didn't work for me. I am unable to deactivate the software. "Deactivation not successful. Please try again."
Uninstalling / cleaning / reinstalling is not something I'm willing to consider at this point. I have legacy versions of other Adobe products, and don't want to risk the scrub tool rendering those unfunctional as well.
There is an available update, but it fails to install because something called "Dynamicclick" needs to be shut down.

What version of Premiere Pro? Include the minor version number (e.g., Premiere Pro CS5.5 with the 5.5.2 update).

Have you installed the recent updates? (If not, you should. They fix a lot of problems.)
Unable to. Installer runs for about an hour, then tells me to close a program that, to the best of my ability to locate, does not exist.
What operating system? This should include specific minor version numbers, like "Mac OSX v10.6.8"---not just "Mac".

Various. .mp4, .mov, .avi files. Not only the files from the training DVD, but also AVCHD files from a camcorder.

When the problem first appeared, part of my troubleshooting involved restarting the machine and launching Premiere by itself. Didn't help.

Not yet. haven't had the chance!

Mac Mini, 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 8 GB RAM. No 3rd party hardware attached.
Are you using Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration?
Nope. At least, I don't think so.
Does the problem only happen with your final output, with previews, or both?
Neither. I can't get to the stage where either previews or output are available.

Adobe XI remains open after printing from command line

I am using a program to collect, batch print and delete multiple PDF files.
The following command line is used to print the files, after which the file is deleted and next file is collected.
"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" /T /N FileName.pdf
I have now upgraded to Adobe XI, however Adobe remains open (and minimized) after sending the print job to the printer, resulting in my programing freezing while waiting to delete.
Is there a parameter to close Adobe after printing?
This is rather urgent as we have started rolling out the new Adobe XI.

I've not seen anything that shows what you want to do.

How to read data after using the PRINT function in visual basic

I know the benchlink can capture the spectrum analyzer screen for me, but I want to integrate it into my application. I use NI spy to detect the communications from the benchlink and put it into my application. After sending the "PRINT 0" command, my "ilrd SpectrumAnalyzer, temp, 500" command doesn't work, giving me EARG error. Does anyone knows if it is because I can not define the temp to be string or some other problem?
b.t.w, the communications I get from NI Spy actually read some unknown characters from the instrument, what kind of data it is? Any idea how to use it?

Hello elm,
This is completely dependent on your instrument; if you are getting the data then you are halfway there. Look in your instrument's programmer's reference manual to see if they mention how the picture is encoded in bytes. There are so many different ways to encode a picture in binary that speculating and guessing would probably never yield the true result. If there is no mention in the manual, contact the instrument manufacturer.

How to stop tabs re-opening after firefox crashes.........when it crashes and I have multiple tabs open, when re-starting firefox all of the tabs re-open too. How can I stop this?

Firefox crashes quite often, especially when I have multi tabs open. I usually have to use CTRL ALT DEL and end the process as Firefox stops responding.
My problem is not the crashing........it is the re-opening of the multiple tabs I had open, when normally it is one of them (not the home page) that caused the crash in the first place, so I cannot re-open firefox until I restart the pc, because every time I do it is the same story. Firefox tries to re-open all of the tabs and stops responding. I have looked in options but nowhere does it allow me to stop multiple tabs opening after a crash. If this continues, I will have to uninstall Firefox and stick to Chrome.

Set the pref browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes to 0 on the about:config page to get the about:sessionrestore page immediately with the first restart after a crash has occurred or the Task Manager was used to close Firefox.

That will allow you to deselect the tab(s) that you do not want to reopen, but will allow to reopen other tabs.

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page. 
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.

Go to Offline status after sending print in HP

Hi everybody.I have two HP Laserjet 4100. Both of them after sending print from windows go to offline status and an error message appear (Yellow Error BOX in notification area).Printer screen show Ready message. The light on the printer is green and fixed. I connect printer with LPT cable to PC.I can get test print from printer menus without any error. I test printer on windows XP 32bit and windows 7 64bit. I get driver from HP Support And Driver Download Center. I install any type of driver (XP 32bit/7 64 bit/ Universal PCL5)I try to use Doctor Hp to find problem but this application is not support LPT connections. I do Cold reset and reset maintenanc counter (With holding left arrow of Items and Value keys).I used 3 diffrent and new LPT cable. I confused and tired!Please help me to solve this problem.Thanks

Right now it appears you are having communication issues from the computer to the printer since the printer will print test pages. The first thing you will want to do is use one of the 32bit computers attached with parallel cable to test communication from the port to the printer. With the printer connected to the port and I assume the lpt port is lpt1, go to start and run and type command and hit enter. At the prompt that appears in the black box type cd\windows and hit enter. Now at the C:\windows prompt, type dir >> lpt1 and hit the enter key. Does the printer data light start to flash and does the printer start to print pages. If it does, then communication is fine and you need to remove and reload the printer using the correct driver. If it does not print then you have an issue with the port on the computer, the cable or the port on the printer. Since it happens with two printers I would think that would eliminate the port on the printer. You may want to check the port setting in the BIOS of the computer. Most ports are Standard, ECP and EPP. Best to set the port for Standard when using an old legacy printer. Good Luck.

Acrobat 9 - PDF doesn't open after print

After updating Acrobat 9, my PDF printer was renamed to "Adobe PDF (Copy 1)" and after printing, the created PDF does not open automatically. How can I change the setting back to have the PDF open after printing?
I tried renaming the printer to "Adobe PDF". There is only one PDF printer. I checked the settings of the printer, and believe them to be correct. Any suggestions?

I do not know why you have a copy of the Adobe PDF printer. The original Adobe PDF printer is used for printing to a PDF and the settings are found in the properties under the settings tab. You might have to select the advanced button on the general tab first. Some of the properties require stepping into another level of menus.

You are on the 3.6 release and Firefox 7.0.1 is out. You can download and install the latest release from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/ if you would like to update now. The 3.6 version will be maintained for a while longer, but you should update when you can.

A Photoshop installation is tied to the machine it was installed on. Moving it to or from a hard drive breaks the licensing.
The answer is easy: Reinstall CS4 from your disc. and apply all updates.
