Stop play after each song

Is there a setting that will automatically stop ITunes from playing the next song? I am working with a woman with a disability who wants to be a DJ. She speakes using a communication device and needs time to talk before the song starts. She moves slowly and the next song starts before she can stop it. Thanks.

ITunes Match Music Stops playing after each song- Even when on Shuffle

It doesn't matter if I'm on 3G or on WIFI the songs that are streaming through my iTunes Match account on my iPhone / iPad stop playing after a single song. Sometime it will take a few songs before it stops playing, but it ALWAYS stops. I have to constantly go onto my iOS device and press PLAY again to get the music to start again. It's not a data issue as I have a consistant 30MB down when i'm on WIFI and my 3G connection is always over 10MB down when the freezes occur.
It's a pain in the rear having to press play every few songs as i'm paying for a service I expect to work, and clearly streaming a single song and then stopping is not working in my book.
I'm running the latest versions of iOS and I've tried a complete system restore.
I also notice that occasionally when a certain song comes on, it will cycle through and skip 20+30 songs extremely rapidly so I can see the song title on my iPhone but it doesn't play any of the songs inbetween. There are also of course many song's that won't even play at all.
Any ideas?

I am having the sames issues. I was on the phone with Apple over the weekend. I was told they would report it to their engineers. It would seem this problem occurred first in May and June and was resolved from what I have read this morning in past discussions, yet seems to be reoccurring again as of this weekend.

Smart Playlists Stop Playing After Each Track

After updating iTunes to version 10.0.1.22 my smart playlists stop playing after each track. All songs or Podcasts in my smart playlists are checked so they should be playing consecutively but they're not.
Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure the little boxes to the left of the song names are checked. If you need to check all the songs in a single view at once, hold the CTRL key and check any one of the boxes.

Juk stops playing after 2 songs?

Hello Everybody,
I've recently installed KDE 4.2 (on a clean base system) and juk seems to stop playing after 2 songs. Is this a bug, or am I being an idiot? Are there some logs I can read? Launching it from a terminal I get a warning:
juk(4736): Couldn't resolve the mime type of " "" " -- this shouldn't happen.
but it only seems to occur once when I select the first song to play.
What do you think?

No, I'm note useing laptop mode tools. I've installed sonata and mpd and they work fine, so this would provide circumstantial evidence to support your hypothesis that this is a phonen/xine related problem, since mpd doesn't use xine/phonen.
Edit: Are you using i686 or x86_64? I've got an Amd64 system and am using the 64 bit packages. At the moment everything but my laptop is out of comission thanks to electrical problems at my apartment, when I get things back up and running, I'll file a bug report.
Does anybody know if there are any relevant logs to read/post?

Ipod stops playing after each podcast

When I play music, each song plays one after the other like you expect. When I play my podcasts after each one the ipod stops and goes back to menu screen. How do I get it to play the podcasts one after the other like songs? Is this a setup item I missed? Thanks for any help.

The iPod does not use folders like you do in Windows or Mac OS. They are invisible to the user.
You are not explaining yourself very well or you have never used an iPod.
I don't understand how using folders will make it easier than it already is.
If everything is in folders and you do not use playlists, then you have to move everything around into folders to listen to specific music.
I never said playlists were cumbersome but they are sometimes ineffective. Some times you don't want a certain rating or a certain grouping but maybe you just want to listen to one album in order or one podcast.
So select that album or that one podcast and press play.
It's much easier to find that podcast or album by name then it is to scroll through thousands of entries to find the starting title of the group.
Why don't you do it this way now?
I go to
Music -> Albums -> pick one and play
Music -> Podcasts -> pick one and play
That's what the problem was last week I would go to artists choose the artist then the album and then it would play one song and skip to the top menu.
That seems to have been a glitch.
I go to Music -> Artist -> Album and press play. It plays the entire album with all the songs in album in order.
It did it for every album and every song I chose every day of the trip a couple weeks ago and yes they all have there check boxes selected in iTunes.
The check box is used only if you want to use Update only checked songs in iTunes prefs -> iPod. Once the songs are on the iPod, this option has nothing to do with th eiPod.

AirTunes stops streaming after each song but iTunes shows it playing

I've read through a lot of posts and either people are having the same issue just describing them differently or I'm seeing an entirely different issue.
My setup is Windows Vista running iTunes 8, Airport Express and an iPod Touch running the Remote app. I just bought it all yesterday and did all the firmware and software updates it asked me to when setting it all up.
I had it setup wirelessly and working -- the remote controlled iTunes which send audio to my AE and it worked beautifully. Then I realized the music stopped, I went to check and iTunes still showed the music playing, but no sound was coming out of the remote speakers. If I change the speaker output to computer then back to the remote speakers it starts playing again.
I've disabled wireless on the AE and put a long wire across to rule out wirless interference or problems. I've disabled the Windows Vista firewall as well.
I've tested both from the remote and from using iTunes directly. So I've ruled out the Remote App from the equation (I think). I say that, because first thing this morning I ran using just iTunes and it worked for 15 straight songs. I used the remote to change albums and start another and after the first song played it went silent. I noticed in iTunes a playlist called "Remote" comes up so I was thinking the Remote was causing it. I switched over to my library local on iTunes again removing the remote and it keeps happening anyway. So I'm not sure if by using the remote I put it in this "state" or if it's really not the Remotes problem.
OK, so once it happens, it stops streaming after very single song however iTunes still shows it's playing fine. To fix, turn the speaker off then on again or switch to computer then back to remote again. It works doing this via the Remote App or on iTunes directly.
This is FRUSTRATING! I spent a lot of money on the iPod, AE and getting a cheap stereo receiver/amp to feed my in-house speakers and now it's pretty much not even useful.
Suggestions? Help? Anything?

I wanted to post a follow-up. I solved my own issue after starting to rule out every possible cause.
I have a Western Digital networked hard drive (NAS) which houses all of my MP3's. I knew accessing this drive was pretty slow but I've had my MP3's on it and iTunes' library is all coming off this drive. It has worked fine on my computer for years. However, it appears that the lag doesn't play nice with AirTunes.
I moved my entire iTunes library (about 80 GB) to my local machine's hard drive, rebuilt my library and now it plays flawlessly!
Just so people know, I've updated firmware on the AirportExpress and the iPod Touch, I have the new version of Remote on the touch and am running iTunes 8 on Windows Vista with its library on the local harddrive. No glitches, pauses, or problems. I ran it for 6 hours during a party over the weekend without flaw.

My playlist stops playing after one song.

My playlists have all the songs checked on my computer. Today my iPhone is playing only one song at a time on a playlist. When I try to click the "start" arrow to get the next tune playing, nothing happens. I have to log out of the playlist and then select it again. I've tried this with shuffle feature on and off - I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've looked at iTunes 11 on my Windows7 Pro computer and it is not giving me any clues. Hints are welcome and I'm an experienced computer user.

I don't believe you are doing anything wrong - I believe it's an Apple iTunes issue.
I'm having a similar problem with Itunes on my iMac. I'm playing iTunes on my iMac, to my Apple TV, and can't get iTunes to play more than one song at a time no matter what I try.
HOWEVER: When I play iTunes locally (Computer), even with external speakers - iTunes random/repeat works fine. So it seems to me to have something to do with mirroring/playing to an external device.

How can I stop play after current song unattended?

I want to be able to tell iTunes to stop after the current song ends. Is there a way to do this?
Using a playlist, it will play through the list and stop, I realize. But I would like to tell it to finish this song and stop, regardless of where in any list it might be.

As other suggested, there is no SAP standard Tcode or program to control it.
But you can always develop a ABAP Prog with the below logic, I am sure that you will be able to achieve your target.
1) Develop a ABAP Z prog with such a logic that this program should look into the table TBTCO for the job details which you want to cancelled and if found your job status Active, this should kill that job.
2) Now schedule this program as a BG job starting at 6:45 AM in the system with daily frequency.
With this program, You should get your target.

Apple TV 2 Stops Playing after 2 Songs

My apple TV 2 plays 2 songs and stops since I downloaded the iTunes and Apple TV updates. Is Apple jamming our home libraries so that we pay $24.99 per year for iTunes Match? I'm ready to drop Apple products.

It was happening 90% of the time at 1:02 minutes into the track. Even though ATV did not suggest an upgrade, I went to the software update, and it updated something (no information was displayed).
So, now it is up-to-date, but I still get a random stoppage in the middle of a track (10% of the tracks), and it jumps to the next track.
I have it on shuffle. I am on wired ethernet (was on wireless, but switched to hard-wire just in case it was some network issue).
Sigh.

Ipod stops playing after each playlist

When I start a playlist and play it through it stops at the end then I have to choose another playlist, is this supposed to happen? I would like it to go on to the next playlist and continue to play until I stop it.

Creative Muvo stops after each song

My creative muvo has begun to stop play after each song. You have to scroll to the next song manually. Has anyone had this problem? (The battery is fully charged)

If the Play Mode is set to normal then that shouldn't happen. Could be a problem with the files on the unit, you could try formatting it and then transfer some new tracks over (rip them from CD for example). It might help aswell to update the firmware.
You didn't mention which MuVo it is exactly, but if there is a firmware update available for it, it'll be in the Downloads section (Support > Downloads).

I somehow screwed up my I-Tunes and can no longer get I-Tunes to play all the songs on the album one after another. It stops playing after the first song. Thanks for any input - I am new at all this!

Somehow, in trying to reorganize my I-Tunes library, I screwed things up. I-tunes will no longer play an entire album w/o stopping after each song. Thanks for any help you can give - I am very new to this. -B

Have the tracks become unchecked? iTunes will skip unchecked tracks, so if they're all unchecked, iTunes will play one and then stop. If this is indeed the case, re-checkmark the tracks - command-click on any checkbox will select or unselect them all - and you should then have continuous playback. Hope this helps.

Some songs stop playing after minute 1

I recently purchased some songs from iTunes and the majority of them have this issue, they stop playing after minute 1 or 1:30.

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past purchases, delete the current copies from your iTunes library, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support.
BTW the tracks that cut short, did you preview each of those for the full minute or minute 30? There's a bit of me that thinks the previews and the short downloads might be related to each other.

Music stops playing after song finishes

Hi guys..im using a iphone 3gs..3.12 version
My problem now is that my Songs after each song they stop..even thou the playlist still has songs.I noticed that everytime it try to play the next song,it kicks me back into my home page..and i have to on it back again to select another song..Im not sure what has happen.can anyone help me here?thanks so much

Check in iTunes to be sure each song has a checkmark in the box to the left of the song's title. Songs without checkmarks are ignored unless specifically selected. If you check songs, sync your iPhone again to transfer the changes.
To check or uncheck all boxes on a PC with one click, hold down the Control (ctrl) key and click on one of the checkboxes with the mouse. You can use this in a library, a playlist or in search results.
To check or uncheck all boxes on a Mac with one click, hold down the Command (cmd) key and click on one of the checkboxes with the mouse.

Playback stopping after each song

Everytime I try and play a playlist, or album from the library, the songs do not continuously play. After each song I have to restart the next song. They all play fine, they just no longer continuously play. Did I hit a button or something that I shouldn't have? I have looked all over trying to find the answer to this one, but could find no topic that addressed this.

Are there check marks beside all the songs in the playlist/library? Unchecked songs have to be clicked on individually to play them, checked songs will play one after the other. If you hold down the CRTL key and click beside any song in your list then all the check boxes can be toggled on or off: iTunes - Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows
