Stop playback after one song

I have a bunch of 4G ipod shuffles that I will use in an exhibition.
I want a user to be able to click play, have the song play and then stop.
I haven't been able to find an answer to this question.
The actual behavior is that whether playing tracks in order or in shuffle, it continues to play and to loop endlessly.
I have tried unchecking the "include this track in shuffle" option in the track settings.
I have tried choosing a different media type (audiobook, podcast, etc)
I have tried unchecking the song in the playlist
Because there is no way to keep the shuffles charging and playing at the same time (becase of the dual USB and audio port), I need to be sure they do not remain ON and endlessly looping until the batteries drain.

Same problem--incredibly annoying. Thanks for the tip on select-all, although that starts playing with the first song. ;-( I didn't realize it was all smart playlists, only shuffled, or that even a manual 'next' click stopped it--so the bug's much worse than I thought (and I was already very annoyed; I thought it was something more specific to my type of smart playlist).
Smart playlists are near-useless to me in iTunes since I only ever play them shuffled!

My playlist stops playing after one song.

My playlists have all the songs checked on my computer. Today my iPhone is playing only one song at a time on a playlist. When I try to click the "start" arrow to get the next tune playing, nothing happens. I have to log out of the playlist and then select it again. I've tried this with shuffle feature on and off - I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I've looked at iTunes 11 on my Windows7 Pro computer and it is not giving me any clues. Hints are welcome and I'm an experienced computer user.

I don't believe you are doing anything wrong - I believe it's an Apple iTunes issue.
I'm having a similar problem with Itunes on my iMac. I'm playing iTunes on my iMac, to my Apple TV, and can't get iTunes to play more than one song at a time no matter what I try.
HOWEVER: When I play iTunes locally (Computer), even with external speakers - iTunes random/repeat works fine. So it seems to me to have something to do with mirroring/playing to an external device.

Playlists stop after one song

I am having a problem where my playlists stop playing after one song in Itunes. This does not happen in my IPOD lists just Itunes.
I ran the setup and repaired - same problem
Reinstalled - same problem.
Deleted playlists and created new ones - same problem.
Highlighting several songs and playing - prob remains.
Any help would be appreciated. If it is a settings issue, not sure why it doesn't affect the IPOD songs played through Itunes. Only the Itunes playlists stop playing.
Appreciate any help.

Apple TV stops after one song

Hi All,
I recently bought my Apple TV (3rd gen) and have the most recent update (5.2). I also have the most up to date iTunes (11.0.1). The thing is that when I want to enter the library on my laptop (windows 7) Apple TV freezes after one song. It loads the next song but then stops. I still can go back in the menu, but the connection with the library is lost.
I also have a desktop computer (windows 7) running with a different iTunes library, and when i stream music from that library everything works fine. So my guess is that there is something wrong in the laptop (ACER Travelmate). I tried loads of things but they all do not seem to work:
- switched off windows firewall
- switched off IP/V6
- reinstalled the bonjour software
- reinstalled the itunes software
- I use a TP-link router with up to date firmware
Any ideas what might cause this problem? Is there maybe any other software that could be blocking my connection?

I have the same problem. I think it is disgusting that nobody at Apple has responded to your post. I see no evidence that Apple cares about this bug, which renders Airplay (on Apple TV) useless.

When playing a song, are the controls at the top of the screen there? (Genius, Shuffle, Loop?)
If not, tap the center of the page once to expose them
now keep tapping the circle on the left part of the exposed controls untill a one (1) appears...

Stop Playback After Current Track

I hate to stop the music in the middle of a track, so i would love some way to make Spotify stop playback after the current track.
Right now I can simulate the desired behaviour by right-clicking an empty playlist, (that i have created for this purpose only) and selecting "Choose as Current Playlist" and making sure that the play queue is empty. While this is a nice workaround, I think that it would make sense to include a real "Stop Playback After Current Track"-function in Spotify.
Update (2015-02-01):
The previously suggested workaround doesn't even work any more as Rapti has pointed out in a comment. At one point it could even make Spotify crash completely.
I would like to point out that a saner, more flexible queuing system could allow even finer control over when to stop playing. Thus people who like this idea might also like:
Make entire play queue editable (I have added my own comment to that idea about how Google Play Music seems to work)

I've also wanted this feature for a long time, and I made a little userscript to do this using the Spotify Play Button. I wrote a blog post about it in Norwegian a couple of minutes ago. Juk stops playing after 2 songs?

Hello Everybody,
I've recently installed KDE 4.2 (on a clean base system) and juk seems to stop playing after 2 songs. Is this a bug, or am I being an idiot? Are there some logs I can read? Launching it from a terminal I get a warning:
juk(4736): Couldn't resolve the mime type of " "" " -- this shouldn't happen.
but it only seems to occur once when I select the first song to play.
What do you think?

No, I'm note useing laptop mode tools. I've installed sonata and mpd and they work fine, so this would provide circumstantial evidence to support your hypothesis that this is a phonen/xine related problem, since mpd doesn't use xine/phonen.
Edit: Are you using i686 or x86_64? I've got an Amd64 system and am using the 64 bit packages. At the moment everything but my laptop is out of comission thanks to electrical problems at my apartment, when I get things back up and running, I'll file a bug report.
Does anybody know if there are any relevant logs to read/post?

Airplay cuts out after one song

I am having a problem with airplay cutting out after each song when using Itunes. I tunes continues to play but tracks but is not transmitting via airplay.
configuration is as follows:
Airport time capsule is connected via wireless to airport express, airport express is connected to wireless internet router via cat 6 RJ45, Apple TV connected via wireless to airport express.
It is not physically possible to connect all devices together with cable.
Time capsule is set to extend network via wireless connection to airport express and both are configured for 5GHz.
I can connect my MAC Book Pro mid 2012 to either the Time capsule or airport express.
Aiport express is connected to a Sound sytem and apple TV is also connected to separate Sound System.
When playing tracks through ITunes and selecting both or either airport express or apple TV airplay cuts out. If I connect directly to my old internet router it also cuts out, indicating there is a possible problem with the WI-FI connection but each device has a perfect connection due to their proximity. If I connect my MAC Book Pro directly to the airport express in the same room and within 4 ft of each other airplay cuts out after one track so that does not indicate a signal error.
This problem has only started recently and did not happen on my windows PC and if I play directly from my IPad or Iphone the music streams perfectly but I can only stream to one device at a time.
Current configs:
Airport express Version 7.6.4
Time Capsule version 7.7.1
Itunes version 11.1.3 (8)
MAC Book Pro OS 10.8.5 mid 2012
Apple TV (latest update)
Obvious things I have done:
Checked for updates
Rebooted every device several times
Tried moving every device closer together (made no difference)
Re-rooted all light aircraft and switched off every thing that could possibly that transmits device in the house

I have this same problem.
I am using an Alienware Aurora desktop PC running Windows 8.1. My music library is stored on Synology Diskstation 1513+ NAS. The PC, Playmaker and NAS are all wired into a Netgraer D6300 router.
I have no problem playing iTunes through my PC speakers or headphones but when I use Airplay to play either through my Apple TV OR my Bang and Olufsen Playmaker (through to B&O speakers) the music stops after one track even though iTunes is still playing the next track in the playlist. If I stop and restart, or if I choose another track it plays through to the end and the problem starts again. If I play wirelessly from my iPhone through the Playmaker and the B&O speakers I have no problem. So it seems to be fairly and squarely an Airplay issue?
This was intermittently happening but is now happening all the time. GRRRRRR!

AirTunes stops streaming after each song but iTunes shows it playing

I've read through a lot of posts and either people are having the same issue just describing them differently or I'm seeing an entirely different issue.
My setup is Windows Vista running iTunes 8, Airport Express and an iPod Touch running the Remote app. I just bought it all yesterday and did all the firmware and software updates it asked me to when setting it all up.
I had it setup wirelessly and working -- the remote controlled iTunes which send audio to my AE and it worked beautifully. Then I realized the music stopped, I went to check and iTunes still showed the music playing, but no sound was coming out of the remote speakers. If I change the speaker output to computer then back to the remote speakers it starts playing again.
I've disabled wireless on the AE and put a long wire across to rule out wirless interference or problems. I've disabled the Windows Vista firewall as well.
I've tested both from the remote and from using iTunes directly. So I've ruled out the Remote App from the equation (I think). I say that, because first thing this morning I ran using just iTunes and it worked for 15 straight songs. I used the remote to change albums and start another and after the first song played it went silent. I noticed in iTunes a playlist called "Remote" comes up so I was thinking the Remote was causing it. I switched over to my library local on iTunes again removing the remote and it keeps happening anyway. So I'm not sure if by using the remote I put it in this "state" or if it's really not the Remotes problem.
OK, so once it happens, it stops streaming after very single song however iTunes still shows it's playing fine. To fix, turn the speaker off then on again or switch to computer then back to remote again. It works doing this via the Remote App or on iTunes directly.
This is FRUSTRATING! I spent a lot of money on the iPod, AE and getting a cheap stereo receiver/amp to feed my in-house speakers and now it's pretty much not even useful.
Suggestions? Help? Anything?

I wanted to post a follow-up. I solved my own issue after starting to rule out every possible cause.
I have a Western Digital networked hard drive (NAS) which houses all of my MP3's. I knew accessing this drive was pretty slow but I've had my MP3's on it and iTunes' library is all coming off this drive. It has worked fine on my computer for years. However, it appears that the lag doesn't play nice with AirTunes.
I moved my entire iTunes library (about 80 GB) to my local machine's hard drive, rebuilt my library and now it plays flawlessly!
Just so people know, I've updated firmware on the AirportExpress and the iPod Touch, I have the new version of Remote on the touch and am running iTunes 8 on Windows Vista with its library on the local harddrive. No glitches, pauses, or problems. I ran it for 6 hours during a party over the weekend without flaw.

TS2972 my homesharing turns off after one song from my itunes to my apple tv . Remedy?

Apple tv plays one song from my itunes then stops, says homesharing needs to be turned on. It's already on in itunes.

Itouch closes out of music after one song

Problem: When I listen to one song the music application closes out and stops the music.
I currently use a first generation Itouch and have had it for about 2 years. I have tried the soft restart (Holding down the off button and sliding it to power down), and I have also tried the hard restart (hold off button and home button then turn it back on). Both of these haven't fixed anything. I haven't tried restoring it yet since the problem occured during vacation and I hate restoring and re-syncing everything.
I'm curious to know if restoring may actually help a problem like this or if the Itouch may as well be dead.

I think the original poster did try reset, according to how the manual describes it (holding the power and menu button at the same time). I tried it too, and it didn't work. I'm probably gonna delete the iPod and restore it.
Is it best to "erase all content and settings", then restore. Or should I just follow the restore procedure alone, since the manual says that "restore" deletes as well?

Tecra A3 battery stops charging after one or two seconds

Hello
I've been using the computer without the battery for a long time. Now, when I try to use the battery it is completely discharged (it says 0% º capacity).
It starts charging when plugged but after one or two seconds it stops so it keeps 0% capacity.
Any ideas of what can the problem be?

Are you 100% sure that the battery stops charging?
How did you check it? What is the status of battery LED?
If you plug the battery the notebook must be off.
Furthermore the charging procedure takes several hours if the battery is empty.
I think you have to connect the AC to the notebook and wait several time.
But if the battery will not charge so either the battery is dead or the notebook electronic malfunctions.

HT1595 returns to main screen after one song

My 2nd Generation Apple Tv returns to main screen after playing one song. How do I correct this?

Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

My Zii Sound D5 stopped working after one year

Hi there,
After one year of enjoying my beloved Zii Sound D5 it stopped working with any apparent reason. It just does not switch on.
I dont have any technical knowledge but after reading a few messages in the forum my guess is that the problem is related to a power spike.
Can anyone help?
