Stop Remote Wipe - different answers from support

I thought I lost my iPhone 5s, so I blocked and told iCloud to erase it the next time it connects.
Now that I found it, I know that as soon as it gets internet connection, all my information will be gone.
For my luckiness, it is turned off, and furthermore it has received neither wifi nor internet connection. (My phone provider had turned off data before I lost it.)
So, I know my information is still alive.
Now that I found it, I want to backup everything before the unavoidable happens (reseting). The status says "Remote Wipe pending"
The first Apple advisor told me there is nothing I can do.
The second Apple advisor told me to simply erase my iPhone from "Find my iPhone", then the command would be submitted to the phone anymore once I turn it back on.
Who is right???
Ist there anythind I can do to stop the remote wipe from happening?

You are posting duplicate questions, which may not get you a quicker answer.
Please see iCloud: Erase your device
If you erase then find your iOS device, you can restore the information on the device using iCloud Backup (if backup was turned on before you erased it) or iTunes. For more information, see iCloud storage and backup overview, or your device’s user guide in Safari bookmarks or on the Apple Support website.

IF that is the only iDevice activated for that recipient, then no. It should not successfully send as an iMessage if the phone is powered off or has no data connection. If you have Send as SMS turned on, it should automatically fallback to SMS after a few minutes. Of course, they won't get this until they power on their phone, assuming they have a text messaging plan with their carrier.

  • 2 different answers from verizon

I contacted verizon on the chat online Tuesday about a LG voyager that I was about to purchus. I asked if it could be put on my pre-paid as the $10 message bundle and I have the transit sent to my email that said yes it could. After I purches the phone and try to change my device it wouldn't allow me too so when I called verizon they told me it had to be $80, so needless to say I was very disappointed. Why give me 2 different answers to 1 simple question. There is no listing to help us know what phone requires what package. Who would want to call everytime they find a phone they want till they find one that will work for them? I have to say this even if I sound smart but if I could afford $80 a month I would be on contract not pre-paid.

There might be a few more than listed this is an old list. • Remote wipe - sim card not supported

After remote wiping my iphone, when I connect it to itunes it keeps saying the sim card inserted to this iphone does not appear to be supported. What should I do now?

How was the phone unlocked?  Was it unlocked by your previous carrier?  The only way to unlock your phone is to have your previous carrier unlock it for you.
If you phone was unlocked in any other way, this constitutes hacking or jailbreaking and your phone will not work with another sim card.
Get the phone unlocked properly by your carrier and there is no reason why it should not work.

  • 2 Different Answers From Apple

My Ipod was on repair @ Apple. I called once and the guy said I'm getting a replacement. Then I called again and said I was getting the same one. Who do I trust??
    jenniferfromescanaba

    Hi,
What was the time interval between the two calls?  Maybe Apple was going to give you a new iPod but had yours fixed by the time of the second call.
    Hope this helps!

  • What is wiped from Pre on ActiveSync Remote Wipe?

I have a Pre that I have recently started using to sync my Exchange mail and calendar events.  IF the Exchange admin at work did a remote wipe of my device, what is wiped?  The documentation I found says "ALL" data.  Does it mean all data related to the Exchange account or does it also wipe data associated with my Google accounts?  If so, does that also wipe the data from the Google servers?  I definitely don't want the Pre's Synergy system to bite me in the rear if my admin ever decides he doesn't want to support all the Palm Pre's that people have been buying lately.

It wipes all data from the phone. But all your synced data with google, and the palm profile would be not harmed. I think its just like running a full erase on the phone. You still have your backed up Palm Profile that once you log into has your google account info.

  • My iPhone 4s was stolen this weekend and I did the Remote Lock.  What exactly does that do?  Also, if i do the Remote Wipe will that erase all of my data and impede anyone from ever using the phone?

My iPhone 4s was stolen this weekend and I did the Remote Lock.  What exactly does that do?  Also, if i do the Remote Wipe will that erase all of my data and impede anyone from ever using the phone?

The remote lock locks the iphone with a passcode that you set. By remote wiping the device it will simply restore it and clear it of all its data, but by doing this it will prevent you tracking it and communicating with it (e.g. remote locking it) in the future

How do I stop getting emails from support!!!!

To stop all email notifications or to select those you want to have go to Your Stuff in the top right of this window. Then select Your Preferences. When that page loads you will see a tab for Email Notifications. Select that and go through the choice for how or when you want to be notified by email, or not.

My iphone 5 was recently stolen. I had the service shut off, but I don't know how to remotely wipe out my data from my phone! Please help!!

YOu can only do that if you had find my iphone setup and activated prior to having your phone stolen.
Then you log into icloud.com to remote wipe, but your phone has to be connect to wifi or cellular data to do that.

  • Lumia 925 went from amber to 8.0 after remote wipe...

    Hi all,
I have had my lumia 925 for 1 day and it was running amber. I tested out the remote wipe function from windowsphone.com but it installed OS 8.0 on the device. And now the device also wont upgrade to amber. WHen I search for update it also takes some time to come back and say no update availble.
    Have tried ressetingAny help appreciated

Some system apps got updated a few times after the amber update and their latest versions is not included in your phone ROM, so when you do a hard/factory reset, you lose those updates too. The store app will notify you about those updates, but not sooner than a few days. So it's better to update those manually.
As mentioned by paulheu, that's not a "pre-amber" state, amber is already installed but you do not have required app updates. To update those system apps, please follow the link that paulheu gave.
After a reset, as mentioned by WildSabre, you can visit Windows Phone Purchase History page to see and reinstall the apps that you have before the reset.
Also, you can use Lumia System Updater  app to see which system apps requires an update.
    The silence will fall
