Stop reverse scrolling with microsoft mouse

Please accept my apologies if this question has already been asked and answered.  I searched but could not find the answer in this forum.  I recently purchased a Mac Mini computer running Lion OS.  I use a microsoft mouse and keyboard that came complete with drivers for the MAC.  I am experiencing two intermittent problems relating to mouse action and cursor.
1.  The first problem is with reverse scrolling.  Somehow, and I can't recall how, I managed to disable reverse scrolling.  However, intermittently my computer reverts to reverse scrolling.  Often I am able to fix the problem by rebooting the Mac.  On other occassions this does not work.  I have researched the issue online and have read the articles about turning off reverse scrolling in the mouse and track pad sections of System Preferences.  However, this option is not available presented when I access these windows.
2.  The second problem deals with cursor size.  I use my mac mini a a media center connected to my TV.  To make the navigation easier I have made the cursor as large as possilbe using System Preferences - Universal Access - Mouse Tab.  However, frequently the cursor reverts back to the minimum size on its own.  When I access the appropriate section of System Preferences I note that, according to my configuration, the cursor should be maximized.  I can re-establish the maximum size my making the cursor smaller and then making it bigger or conversely by rebooting the Mac.
Any assistance on these two matters would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Wayne

I have issue #1 randomly reversing scrolling direction, what is wrong? My system Mac Mini with Microsoft Mouse / Keyboard.

  • Audition CS5.5 is not working well with Microsoft Mouse "smooth scrolling" feature

    Hi,
I'm testing with the Audition CS5.5 and found that the mouse scrolling (I use it mainly for zoom, zooming in and out to see the waveform) is just not working well and sluggish, and finally I figured out it somewhat related to the "smooth scrolling" of Microsoft Mouse. Anyone with the same problem? In fact the scrolling is working very well for Audition 3.0.1, I don't know why it fail for CS5.5.
    Best regards,
    Steve

The trial version is the same as the full version except
    for the 30 day limitation.
I think on windows xp you need sp3 for cs5 to work as expected.
Anyway that's what is says here:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/photoshopextended/systemreqs/
That may not be the problem, but it's a good place to start.
Also it's not a good idea to post your email on the forums.

i cant scroll with the mouse in firefox, am using firefox 26

Open a new window or tab. In the address bar, type '''''about:config'''''.
There is a search bar at the top. Type '''scroll.m''' (scroll<'''dot'''>m).
    The setting for
    '''general.smoothScroll.mouseWheel'''
    should be '''TRUE'''.

  • Why can I no longer scroll with the mouse when using Pages?

A few days ago, I realized that I am unable to scroll within a Pages document with the mouse.  The scroll bar is not there.  The scroll feature works fine, and after trying to figure this out myself with no success, I thought I'd ask here.  I have Pages '09 and I'm using OS X 10.9.5.

Thanks.  That's not the problem.  Scrolling works in everything else except Pages.  I used to be able to scroll just by using my finger up or down on the mouse.  Now, I can't do that.  I tried setting the scroll bars to "Always", but then I have to physically click on the scroll bar and move it up and down.  Not like it's that much hassle, lol, but I got used to just scrolling with my finger on the mouse.

  • Maps zoom/scroll with Magic Mouse

    Hi
In Maps.app, scrolling over the map with magic mouse, moving the map instead of zooming, i need to press SHIFT when i need zoom in or out. Other apps (google maps in safari, or google earth.app) working with zoom set as default.
How can i change this behaviour?

I second this. seems like an oversight. i can live it, i'll just screw up every time I try maps because at this point, google Maps is still better. so it'll be quite some time before i think of Maps first.
I do feel like Maps is just a Beta right now. There are 0 preferences.
I tried using Better Touch Tool but it doesn't seem to work... i could be doing something wrong though.
If someone figures out a trick with the BTT, and Maps, please let us know.
In the mean time, apple has it's work cut out for it. Maps has Millions of Miles that needs updating/correcting/ect. perhaps in one of it's many to roll outs, they'll give us some preferences.

  • Cant scroll with magic mouse

All of a sudden i can´t scroll with the magic mouse?

When Mavericks was first released, you had to set swiping between web pages to three fingers, and swipe between full-screen apps to four fingers, then two worked for the Finder.
But, I think that might have been a leftover that was removed as I can't seem to make it work anymore.

  • No scrolling with magic mouse

I've paired my new magic mouse with my 20" imac. Everything seems to be working fine except I am unable to scroll at all with it. Can anyone give me suggestions?

    Hello:
    Welcome to Apple discussions.
Please update your profile. According to the documentation, the Magic Mouse will not run on your version of OS X.
    Minimum Requirements
    A Bluetooth-enabled Macintosh computer
Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later with Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0* or Mac OS X v10.6.1 or later with Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0
*Momentum scrolling supported only on Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard

  • Interactive Form jumps back to the cursor when scrolling with the mouse

In an interactive form over multiple pages, the user should enter some fields and will then scroll down - usually with the mouse's scrollwheel. As long as the cursor is in an active field, adobe reader keeps jumping back to the place the cursor is active... So it is not possible to scroll down.
Scrolling down by sidebar works fine.
As a workaround, I can place the cursor outside of any entry field (just by klicking any text within the form) and scrolling down works fine again.
I guess this is a "feature" and not a bug - but it is driving our users crazy!
Any suggestions or ideas about how I could get scrolling to work will be highly appreciated.
    Adobe Livecycle Designer ES 8.1.2
    Adobe Reader 9.4.0

    Hi Nicolas,
I am using 8.2.3 ADLC with 9.X reader (for sure this may not be any version dependent as such)
I didn't find any such behavior, and I never heard about it earlier.
Some how I feel this is not a feature nor bug in adobe, its something with your form. may be there is a set focus cdoe somewhere or so.
can you send me the form to test it in my local pc ...?
    cheers,
    Sai

  • How can i scroll with a mouse? dragging works, but no scrolling. mouse used is a microsoft bleutooth notebook mouse 5000

    acer iconia a500
    android honeycomb

    Hey Folks,
I had this same problem. Played with all the setting mentioned here in the about:config page to no avail. Then, on a lark I decided to change my setting in the mouse driver from 2 lines per click to three lines per click, which happens to match what about:config is claiming it will do....
    Now it works.
FYI my mouse is a Lenovo USB optical wheel mouse on a Thinkpad with ultranav and trackpoint enabled so... in short way too many ways of moving the pointer going on.

  • Scrolling with the mouse wheel does not always work with 4.0? Never a problem with previsous versions.

in firefox 4.0, at times the scrolling wheel will not work. It has never been a problem with previous versions, and always works in internet explorer.

    Hello Henry,
    Thanks for the hint!
My mouse wheel is  working, but not in flash player...strange... It is a Microsoft Comfort  Mouse and I see there is already logged bug about that: https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-5145
Anyway besides this bug, there is an additional issue I think, that the vertical layout does not calculate properly the vertical scroll position, when certain elements are excluded from the layout. I have described this additionally in the Jira.

    Dinko

  • Scrolling with Magic Mouse in Firefox

Occasionally, maybe once per day, when I open the Bookmarks menu in Firefox, my Magic Mouse won't scroll up or down. I close the menu, open it again, and the Magic Mouse works fine. The Firefox Bookmarks menu is the only place I've noticed this or any kind of quirky behavior with the Magic Mouse. Anyone know what could be causing this?

I use MagicMouse on iMac with Windows 7 running (installed through BootCamp). Got sick of annoying horizontal scrolling. The solution described above has helped me to disable it. Here is what I've done in steps:
    1) go to http://www.autohotkey.com/ and download an app (a script editor).
    2) Install and run the program - please note that it will not open as it runs in the background
    3) Rightclick on the desktop -> choose "New" -> "AutoHotkey Script" (a new script file will be created on the desktop) -> name it as you wish (e.g. "Mouse_HScroll")
    4) Rightclick on the file you've just created and choose "Edit Script" from the menu.
    5) Add these three lines below existing text in the file:
    WheelLeft::return
    WheelRight::return
    #MaxHotkeysPerInterval 5000
    6) Save file
    7) Run "Convert .ahk to .exe" program from the package installed earlier and browse the file you've just created, hit ">Convert<" -> .exe file should be created. Run this file -> the scrolling should be disabled now.
    7) You may wish to move this file to Start/"Autorun" folder, so it would be launched automatically each time you reboot your Mac/PC.
    Hope this helps! Good Luck

  • Macbook not working with Microsoft Mouse

Hey guys. I'm not really sure this is the right place to post this, but I'll try anyway (if you can think of a better place, please let me know).
I got a Microsoft Mobile Mouse 4000 for Christmas and have been having some issues with it. I installed the CD it came with and everything, and it works, but the tracking speed of the cursor on the screen is really slow. When I go into my settings to try and make it faster, it will work while the settings window is still open, but as soon as I close it, the tracking goes back to being really slow.
I called Microsoft about the problem and the guy pretty much said "Oh... you have a Mac? pause Yeah, I can't help you" EVEN THOUGH the box said that the mouse is compatible with Macs.
It's too late to take this thing back now, and I don't want to because I really like the mouse, but the tracking speed is just too slow to be efficient. Can somebody PLEASE give me some help on how to make the tracking speed stay fast??

You can try this: [MouseZoom - 2.2|http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/mac/12205]. I use it with my Magic Mouse and it works well. It adds a Pref in System Preferences called MZoom and when you goto it, a message comes up that it must close and re-open. When you click OK, a scale pops up that lets you adjust your speed from faster to incredible. Give it a try... it's free.

  • How do I eliminate horizontal scrolling with wireless mouse?

Is there a way to disable just the horizontal scrolling on a wireless mouse?  I have Mac OS X 10.6.8.  I've searched Google and found several sources that recommend typing "defaults write com.apple.driver.Apple BluetoothMultitouch.mouse MouseHorizontalScroll -bool NO" in the Terminal window but it does not work.  Any help would be appreciated.

It will only last until the next startup, but
Open Terminal (in your Applications/Utilities folder):
    Copy/paste and hit Return:
defaults write com.apple.driver.AppleBluetoothMultitouch.mouse MouseHorizontalScroll -bool NO
For this to take effect, turn your mouse off and then on again from the power switch
    To reverse
defaults write com.apple.driver.AppleBluetoothMultitouch.mouse MouseHorizontalScroll -bool YES
