Stop RoboHelp from Trashing CSS

I very much like producing help systems with RoboHelp 8, but it has a very ugly way of trashing custom CSS, whether inline or external. Specifically, when I write inline CSS in the HTML window in RoboHelp, it changes it to something that definitely does not conform to XHTML standards, commonly accepted CSS standards, or anything that I would want. (Yes, it changes the actual properties in my CSS!)
To make matters worse, I tried to import a CSS stylesheet that I use else where to apply to my current RoboHelp project for consistency. RoboHelp, first, rewrote the entire stylesheet, appending its rewrite under my original stylesheet. So, I deleted its rewrite. Then, RoboHelp deleted the entire contents of the stylesheet.
How can I get RoboHelp to stop messing with my stylesheets?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sick and tired of this!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I could use RoboHelp's internal CSS editor, but it's tedious to use for someone who writes CSS all the time. It is extremely apparent that I know CSS far better than RoboHelp does. In addition, it's incredibly tedious to try to coax RoboHelp's internal CSS editor to use ems, rather than points. No one has used points in CSS for at least a decade. Points, as a unit of measure, make accessibility impossible, among a vast number of other things. They are much more than antiquated; they should be abolished! To show just how antiquated the internal CSS editor is, it renders many/most/all HTML selectors in uppercase, in total defiance of XHTML standards.
How can I get RoboHelp 8 to stop messing with my CSS?

Hi there
No, instead it is you that missed what I meant!
When you generate your output in RoboHelp 8, there is an option that allows you to specify a specific CSS that is used.
Sure, you can choose a CSS when you create topics and RoboHelp will likely rewrite that one. I'm not sure about the one you specify here, but as you are choosing it immediately before creating output, perhaps RoboHelp will leave that one as you wanted it.
Cheers... Rick

Why is that when I am composing a new message do I end up with multiple versions of my message I am composing up in my Google Trash mailbox?  How can I stop this from happening?

It was very hard to see what the box says because the message displays for less than one second. However, I was able to record it with my iphone and pause it until I got a shot of the message. The box says the following:
"Do you want the application “java” to accept incoming network connections?
Clicking deny may limit the application’s behavior. This setting can be changed in the Firewall pane of Security preferences."
I did make some changes. I will see if it works.
    Thank you!!!

It sounds like the permissions on your Home folder are snarky.
    http://osxdaily.com/2011/11/15/repair-user-permissions-in-mac-os-x-lion/
Restart Lion and hold down the Command and R keys.
You will boot into the Repair Utilities screen. On top, in the Menu Bar click the Utilities item then select Terminal.
In the Terminal window, type resetpassword and hit Return.
The Password reset utility launches, but you’re not going to reset the password. Instead, click on the icon for your Mac’s hard drive at the top. From the drop-down below it, select the user account where you are having issues.
At the bottom of the window, you’ll see an area labeled ‘Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs’. Click the Reset button there.
The reset process takes a couple of minutes. When it’s done, quit the programs you’ve opened and restart your Mac. Notice that ‘Spotlight’ starts re-indexing immediately.

  • Stop iCloud from deleting trash after 30 days

Well I think the headline speaks for it self. I know this question has been asked a few times but I haven't yet found a solution.
I am using my iCloud mail on my Mac via. Apples mail program, blackberry phone and iPad.
How do I stop iCloud from deleting the trash folder. In my mail on my Mac I have checked in "move deleted messages to trash", "keep deleted messages on the server" and "deleted messages after:" is set to never in the drop down
Does everyone have a solution for this?
    Cheers
    Thomas

AFAIK iCloud automatically deletes emails - I was under the impression it's 7 days - and this will over-ride any setting you have in Mail. There's nothing you can do about this, other than to move the messages in question to another folder which you create. They will stay there until you choose to delete them. The Trash folder isn't really intended as a place to store messages - it's there so that you have time to recover anything which got deleted in error. If you want to keep messages you should keep them in some other folder.

  • How can I stop emails. From returning after there removed from trash?

How can I stop emails from returning after deleted and also deleted from trash?

Aside from force-quitting the Finder, I've never seen anything that allows for getting rid of the delay.

  • Corrupted file unable to remove from trash because it is running.  Unable to shut it down.

I had recently converted some video tapes into dvds as well as disks that I could download onto the computer.  I did not realize that I installed a dvd into the drive instead of the downloadable disk when I asked the computer to download the files.  Instead of not performing the task, the computer partially download the dvd.  Now I have this file on my desktop and when I put it into trash I can't remove it from trash because it is running.  In other words there is a corrupted file that I have no way of stopping or deleting.   Any suggestions?  I could leave this file alone but since it is running I'm not sure how much memory it is diverting.

What is the name of the file? If you open Activity Monitor, set to All Processes, then is it displayed in the Name list?
Restarting kills all running processes. If this is not a system file, then you have it installed somewhere that is launching it automatically upon startup. You should look in your /Home/Library/LaunchAgents/ folder or your /Library/LaunchAgents/ or /Library/LaunchDaemons/ folder for a file related to this one. Until you kill that one you will not be able to delete the one are having trouble deleting.
    Exposing the /Home/Library/ Folder
Pick one of the following methods:
    A. This method will make the folder visible permanently. Open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder and paste the following at the command prompt:
    chflags nohidden ~/Library
    Press RETURN.
    B. Click on the Desktop, press the OPTION (⌥) button, select Library from the Finder's Go menu.
    C. Select Go To Folder from the Finder's Go menu. Paste the following in the path field:
    ~/Library
    Press the Go button.

  • How can I STOP mail from syncing with .mac????

I don't have a .mac account, I will never have a .mac account, I have in mail prefs BOTH boxes under "synchronize with other computers using .mac" unchecked, and yet Mac Mail tries to tie up my entire system "synchronizing with .mac" all the time, especially when traffic is heavy (downloading or uploading). I've got activity viewer on and the stop sign is ghosted, there appears to be no way to stop Mail from doing this useless tie up time wasting process that manages to completely freeze up mail until it's completed and sometimes slow up other programs as well. I only have POP accounts, no IMAP accounts that have to be synced.
This didn't start happening until I upgraded to 10.4.11. Prior to that Mail blazed through everything, and it NEVER tried to sync with .mac.
Is there any way to turn this useless "feature" (for me) OFF?
    Thanks!

I was on Tiger earlier, but just got home to a Leopard machine... and a power outage during the day seems to have blown my Tiger's Monitor, but look for...
    /Users/bd/Library/Application Support/SyncServices/Local/clientdata/com.apple.DotMacSync
I'd try dragging the whole folder, if it exists...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Application Support/SyncServices
to the Desktop & reboot, we can always move it back if need be.
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.DotMacSync.<ethernet MAC address>.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.DotMacSync.plist
are both other good choices to drag to the desktop.
We might even have to go in and Copy this to the Desktop then Trash the originl...

  • I have all my music on my external hard drive when I try to add it to iTunes it is automatically added to my MacBook Pro's hard drive. How do I stop this from happening? I just want the music to stay on the external hard drive. Thanks!

I have all my music on my external hard drive when I try to add it to iTunes it is automatically added to my MacBook Pro's hard drive. How do I stop this from happening? I just want the music to stay on the external hard drive. Thanks!

This is true of course, but doesn't cover the situation where some files are in the iTunes Media folder and others are on an external drive. In my case I keep my music in the Media folder and all my films on an external drive (there are too many to have on the internal drive). In iTunes 11, and before, it was easy to add those external files by holding down the alt/opt key while dragging to the sidebar. In iTunes 12 this is no longer possible. There are several workarounds: use TuneSpan to move the file after it's been added; delete the file from the Media folder and empty the trash then use iTunes Get Info which will report the file is missing and allow you to locate it; constantly switch the Add to iTunes toggle on and off as required. All of these require a lot more work than just holding down the alt/opt key while adding.
    It constantly gets harder.

  • How do I stop ActiveSync from deleting emails on server

    Hi,
We came across a problem where users are deleting emails from their activesync devices accidentally. We need to stop it besides providing them activesync facility.
Is there any way we can restrict sync of email deletion from activesync devices so the sync from Device to Server remains disabled. What we want is
    Server --> Device Sync Enable
    Device --> Server SYnc Disable
    Hasan

    Hi
You will have to look at a POP3 account that leaves the mail on the server.
I have not seen a setting in active sync that stop mail from being deleted. If you make a change on your phone it will update the mailbox.
Mails will be in the deleted items. How are users "accidently" deleting mail when you actually have to press the delete/trash button?

  • I have an iphone 3gs.  I have 7 separate email accounts on the phone.  Everytime I update, it reloads all of the emails as new unread emails.  Is there any way to either delete all or alternatively stop it from reloading all prior emails?

I have an iphone 3gs.  I have 7 separate email accounts on the phone.  Everytime I update the phone, it reloads all emails received as new unread emails.  I can click each one, move them to trash and then delete all.  However, I am wondering whether there is any way to either (a) delete all from the inbox or (b) stop them from reloading?
    Thanks

    Hello Kizzyk,
I would start with taking a look at the settings to make sure that you are able to send and receive messages. If everything looks good then the next step would be to remove the accounts and add them back in. Take a look at the article below for more information and details on how to troubleshoot your issue further.

  • When you are pulling music from a hard drive and it says music can not be found, is there a way to stop it from doing that every time I play music from my computer? It used to find all music now it only finds 1 song at a time

When pulling music from a harddrive and it say music can not be found, is there a way to stop this from happening every time I play music on my computer? It used to find all music when serching for song but now it only finds 1 at a time. I have over 2000 songs so I can't go through this every time.

    1) However I do not want to move my itunes Music onto the flash drive, only my Movies, and want to keep my music on my hard drive.
    Is this possible?
    Yes
    2) Do the MacBook Air's not have a separate program other than itunes that can play movies? If so, is there a program I can get to solve this problem? I went onto the App Store to see if there was something I could download, but all the apps were for creating DVD's, not simply playing them.
If you can play the movies in iTunes, you should be able to open the movie files using Quicktime, which should already be on your system.  If you have already transferred the files to your flash drive, open the flash drive in Finder, and hold control when you click on the movie file (or right click if you have the enabled) and select Open With Quicktime Player.  This should play the movie directly from the flash drive.
If you want to set all .m4v files to open with Quicktime by just double clicking on the file, you can follow the steps here: http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/2573/os_x_how_to_change_default_application_to_op en_file_type/
    3) If 1. & 2. questions are solvable, will it then be safe to delete the movies from my itunes?
You can move the TV shows to your flash drive by dragging them from the iTunes window to your flash drive in Finder or the flash drive icon on the desktop.  When you are sure everything is transferred over to your external device, you can delete the movie from iTunes.  I recommend playing the videos from the flash drive first before deleting them in iTunes.
To delete the videos from iTunes, you can highlight them and press the delete key on your keyboard.  In the next prompt, you would want to move it to the trash so that it is deleted from your internal hard drive.
    I hope that helps!

  • HT1668 I get the "Unable to Move Message. The message could not be moved to the mailbox Trash". whenever i try deleting from my ipad 2. I am unable to delete from Trash...HELP

I get the "Unable to Move Message. The message could not be moved to the mailbox Trash". whenever i try deleting from my ipad 2. I am unable to delete from Trash...HELP!
Additional info...I am trying to delete these emails from a Webmail address. the Trash currently has 11 messages and they arent being deleted.

Try turning the account off and on : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap the account on the right, slide Mail to 'off', exit settings and go back into the Mail app, and then go back to Settings and slide Mail back to 'on'
If that doesn't work then try closing the Mail app via the taskbar : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
Another option is a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If you still can't delete them then go into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars,  select the account on the right-hand side of that screen, select Account, then Advanced, Deleted Mailbox, and under On The Server tap the 'Trash' folder so that it gets a tick against it - then come out of that series of popups by tapping on the relevant buttons at the top of them and then see if you can delete emails.

  • Unable to delete some files or empty them from Trash

Hi, I receive the following message when trying to empty files from the Trash:
"The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "lg550-1.gif" could not be read or written.
    (error code -36)"
There are hundreds of these .gif files in an images folder which I would like to delete by emptying the trash. Finder is asking whether I would like to continue or stop emptying the trash...I'm wondering if there is a way to eliminate this images folder manually from the command line?
(I just don't have the time to constantly click upon "continue" and I think these files will still be in the Trash in any case, with the basic problem unsolved so long as they are not permanently deleted.)
    Thanks

  • How to stop files from being locked in Mountain Lion?

In the last week, I have found several of the files that I have generated or downloaded have become locked.  Since Apple has eliminated the Auto locking feature that use to be in Time Machine.  The files include PDFs, PHGs, TXTs, etc.  How do I stop files from being locked?  How do I unlock the ones that are locked?  I can not emtpy my Trash.

When I went to "Get Info" on one of the locked files [a TXT file] per your steps, I noticed that the there was a Locked box checked.  I unchecked that box and was then able to remove the files from Trash without any further action.
Do you know why it got locked in the first place since Mountain Lion does not automatically lock files as the older OS X version did?  Do you know how to prevent it from happening again?
I want to thank you for your suggestion.
