"Stop running the script?" error after power-up and before starting Firefox

I have a Windows 7 x64 Enterprise system with Firefox 10.0.02. I'm getting the error

after I power up my PC, but before I open Firefox.
The error message, of course, does not identify what "this page" is, or tell anything about the script. The error message doesn't even say it's from Firefox (or Internet Explorer, for that matter).
I've done a virus scan, a spyware scan, and an adware scan, but the error keeps popping up.
Everything I've found on the web about this error assumes the problem is with Internet Explorer, but I don't use IE.

Start/All programs/Startup has only McAfee Security Scan Plus. After power-up, clicking on Show Hidden Icons lists Sound Effect, McAfee Total Protection, Spybot-SD Resident, Ad-Aware, and a flag labeled "Solve PC issues: 1 message".
If I click the flag, it opens Windows Backup Troubleshooting Options. The message is "Check your backup settings. Windows cannot find the disk or network location where your backups are being saved". There are two options -- Change backup settings and Try to run backup again.
This is because I do not usually have the external herd drive I use for backup attached. I ignore this message.
Also, Sql Server 2008 R2 and Oracle 11gR2 start up, along with IIS. I use this PC for various courses.
FWIW, I've attached screen grabs of the Services and Processes from Windows Task Manager.

i have imported CSS and JS into APEX Application from the below url and multiselection is working fine but the issue is , when i click on other items which have nearly 5000 records then its displaying pop up box like "Stop running the script.A script in this page causes IE to run slowly.If its continues to run your computer may become unresponsive"

Narender,
The problem is due to the volume of items in your multiselect. The error you reference is not coming from APEX but, rather from the browser. In Chrome, you would get a slightly different message. As a safety precaution, browsers will start a timer when a script is executing and raise the warning you reference if said scripts are taking too long. This is usually a good thing. For example, the script might contain an infinite loop.
There really is not going to be a way to use a mutli-select in this manner with 5K items. I would encourage you to think about the usability of this control for your end user. Are they realy expected to scroll through 5K items to find individual ones that they wish to select?
You could consider switching to a tabular form and using the check box in a similar manner. You can sort on this so that the selected ones appear first.

Choose the method for:
"Resetting SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own".
If this does not help, you may have to take the MBP to the Apple Store to have it checked.

These are unrelated questions/statements.
Space before and space after a paragraph are controled in the Text Inspector, as you've found out.
Pages will create a page break whenever there is no room for another line on the page. That break can come anywhere in a paragraph.
You may be thinking of Widow and Orphan prevention, and the other Pagination controls, found under the More button in the Text Inspector. (If that's what you found, then thanks for the refresher! I hadn't been to that pane for awhile, and had forgotten the variety of pagination controls available.

Why all sudden I get "Safari is no longer responding because of a script on the webpage Do you want to stop running the script, or let it continue"

I havent uploaded, downloaded, installed, deleted anything new. I've followed any online forums to empty safari history, temp cache, safari cookies, rebooted, still the message comes up ever 3rd page I visit, or even just typing this out, it comes up after a typed line and half? Others on the net have had to reinstall or reformat their macbook. Seriously hoping I dont have to as its such a pain to reinstall exactly way I have it now.
Suggestions? Other than throwing it off a bridge like i want to right now? thanks in advance
Btw, im on mac os x 10.5.8 however when i go to update, says theres nothing new to update. Theres a whole drop down list of other versions, is that a bad thing?

From your Safari menu bar click Safari then from the drop down menu select Preferences.
Select the Security tab.
Deselect: Enable JavaScript
Quit then relaunch Safari. If you don't see the script dialog again, reselect the JavaScript box in Preferences.

Infoview stop running this script ...web browser to run slowly error

Hi Everyone,
I hope this is the right forum for this question. I'm experiencing 1 error with 1 report run from Infoview. When I run the report, I get this error: "Sop running this script? ... A script on this page is causing your web browser to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer might become unresponsive." I say No twice to not stop running the script and then the report eventually displays.
Is there something specific I should look for in my report which may be causing this?

Hi John,
Start by removing parts of the report to see what is causing the problem, Start with subreports and check the DB connection info if there is any.
Verify the Report in the Designer also to confirm the connection info is correct.

As per my findings the After Parameter is fired after the Parameters are given to the report and Before Report fires when the queries are parsed and data is fetched.

Thanks for your suggestion's here i am going to run the datapump script so while i am running in workbench it is throwing data access error.So as you guy's suggested i created one import format and added this script to that import format which is added to one of my location even it is throwing the same error.I am getting the error at this sentence   "strWorkTableName" I want to know what is this where it reflect's?So my question is Is there any difference while running data pump or integration script.Please let me know a detailed navigation steps to run this script's with out data access error to run these kind of scripts.

When pasted large # of values in Choice Prompt, Stop running this script?

In a choice prompt, I am cut paste large number of values (about 4000) in 11g dashboard. After a few seconds I get a popup 'Stop running this script?'. The same number of values works very quickly and without prompt in 10g.
The behavior looks to be due to java script running to set the choice values in 11g. Even if I paste these as ; separated values time taken is very very large.
Two questions
(a) Why it takes so long compared to 10 g? If I paste small # of values (say 30) , control comes back with active 'Apply' button quickly.
(b) What can be done to improve this performance?

I tried using presentation variable and that avoids the popup. Why?
I will like to know what options I have for better user experience.

You need to use Column Filter Prompt for this. One of the main reasons why this is not available in a Dashboard Prompt is that in a Dashboard Page you can have reports using the dashboard prompts and standalone reports(that do not use dashboard prompts). Since there is no link between the dashboard prompts and the individual reports per se, you would not be able to run the reports(that depend on the dashboard prompts) after entering the data in the dashboard prompt. The first way as i said is to use Column filter prompts instead of Dashboard Prompts. The other way to achieve this is, create the dashboard prompt and the report in seperate sections. Then minimize the report section. So, first time you open the dashboard the report would not run in the background. Expand when you actually want to see the report. The third way is to use presentation variables rather than using the is prompted clause. The fourth way is by specifying some default values(which i believe you do not want).

Hello. I am installing Oracle 11gR2 RAC using 2 Virtual Machines (rac1 and rac2 whose OS are Oracle Linux 5.6) in VMPlayer and according to the tutorial

I have been installing Grid Infrastructure using runInstaller from step 1 to step 9 of 10 in both VM rac1 and rac2.
Now, I am running the script root.sh in VM rac1 and rac2 as below:

As we see the output above, rac1 and rac2 get the same problems. in addition, rac2 fails to start ASM and Clusterware stack. Thus, I have 2 questions:
First, the common problem for rac1 and rac2 :
1)Module "oracleoks, oracleadvm, oracleacfs" not found
2)/dev/asm/.asm_ctl_spec not detected
3)ADVM/ACFS installation failed
Do the above 3 factors affect Grid and DataBase Installation later ? If yes, how to solve these problems ?
Second, how to start ASM and Clusterware stack in rac2 ?

you have 2 options:
1. OEL 5.6 comes with 2 kernels, the original Red Hat, and Oracle UEK, you can choose not to use UEK
or the one i would recommend:
2. Upgrade Grid Infrastructure,
*11.2.0.3.1* (patch 13348650, released about a 1 month ago) supports ACFS on UEK (starting with 2.6.32.200 IIRC)

another. I step through the batch wizard and on commencement of the

ILife '09 installation problems; run preflight script error

Hi, not sure where else to put this topic so I figured this would be the best place. The iLife section has forums for individual applications and not the entire thing.
I'd like to point out that I had iLife '08 installed and working but I uninstalled it before I proceeded with the '09 installation since I wanted to start clean. I also installed iWork '09 successfully.
When I try installing iLife '09 however, I get a an error stating "The following install setup failed: run preflight script for registration. contact the software manufacturer for assistance.". I have tried to repair disk permissions through Disk Utility and then reboot, but still get the same error. I have also tried using some of Onyx's "cleaning" utilities, but it doesn't help either.
I also get the same "run preflight script" error when I try installing the latest Quicktime update through Apple Software Update application.
Not sure any of these are related but I'm out of ideas. Is anyone else getting anything similar or know how to fix any of this?

Just a guess, but do you have a retail disk of iLife '09 or an upgrade that came as a supplement to your new Mac? If the latter, you should have the iLife '08 applications installed in their default locations (where they were located when you first started up the new Mac) because it is highly unlikely that an upgrade disk can upgrade what is not there.
If this is your problem, you may not have to reinstall the entire OS. Instead, first try looking for an "Install Bundled Software" app (or something with a similar name) on your new Mac's system disk 1. This may allow you to reinstall the original iLife apps without having to reinstall the OS. If so, the upgrade disk should work once they are back in place.
