You can't keep sending thousands of people to the troubleshooting page because you
know darn good and well it DOESN'T WORK! How about sending us a real fix???

And having been in the same boat, and I was using "Mint" for my iPod and their service is totally screwed up and that is my financial instution and I just don't want anything to do with Mint at this point.. I got boiling mad at them.... so I do know what it feels like.
Okay. I can say that I had trouble with iOS and new iPod and found a PC hadn't used much that worked. I also tried clean installs on Windows 8 Preview just to see, and that works.
apple is doing better but their 64-bit support and drivers/apps have not been that good even after 5 yrs? with Vista and counting, it now puts things "where they belong" better but the normal uninstall leaves behind old versions and files, so takes manual labor.
And want to make sure you have been down that path.
I spent a day on a new OS, pulled the old OS drive, been two years no real issues with Windows 7 until now, this and iOS.
iTunes 10.5 does run better under Windows 8 Dev Preview than it ever did more me under 10.4 and Windows 7 (64-bit Pro SP1).
Even a normal uninstall does not remove everything, and some things are in wrong location directories. Normally Apple leaves older versions around which never made sense and can interfere.
Not just iTunes but ALL Apple software needs to be uninstalled and removed. Look for any Apple related and look for "Lockdown" and WOW64 if needed to find "Quicktime" remnants.

TS1398 I have home wifi on my iPhone 5 but sometimes cannot access internet. I have tried the troubleshooting hut still doesn't work

I get intermittent failure of home wifi. My iPhone 5 shows full wifi signal but I cannot connect to the internet. I just get a message saying " Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding ". I do not have this problem with my iPad mini which is connected to the same router. I have used the apple troubleshooting guide but still cannot fix the problem. Does anyone else have the same problem?

If you have carefully follow ALL of the steps in that article, you are using a USB port directly on your computer and not a USB hub (don't use a front port on a tower or desktop either, as they are an internal hub) and you installed iTunes correctly using an Administrator ID and you have tried disabling your antivirus and firewall then there is no hope of it ever working. Look at the tip again, and go through it carefully, not skipping any steps.
Note, BTW, that an iPhone will not show up on a computer, only in iTunes. If there are photos in the Camera Roll then it will appear in Windows as a digital camera only.

Text messages and imessages marked as delivered yet not received since last update. I cannot make sense of the troubleshooting page, why does this complex machine not just work?.

I updated my iphone -again, and now my girlfriend (and who knows who else) is not reliably receiving messages. I try sending as iMessage and as SMS and have iMessage checked in my options and send as text message if iMessage doesn't work also checked. It was working fine, I updated, now it's patchy at best and although messages are marked as delivered they aren't and I don't know unless I phone the recipient up. Have tried restarting, resetting and digging through the trouble shooting pages... Apple products used to just work, now my phone is like a puzzle that I have to solve. I'm ditching apple in October when my contract is up but would like to send texts in the meantime, any ideas?

When using an external display be sure to check the following:
If you're using an Apple notebook, confirm the AC power cable or adapter is securely connected to the computer and the cable providing power to the display is also secure. It is always good to have your notebook connected to AC power when an external display is in use.
Confirm display adapters are fully seated in their respective connections and that they are supported models and for the computer and display. Refer to these articles to assist you with adapter compatibility and further configuration information:

Remove all display cable extenders, KVM switches, or other like devices and retest to determine if the issue is resolved.
If more than one video adapter is in use—or "daisy-chained"—troubleshoot by using only one adapter.
Example: A mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter connected to a DVI to HDMI adapter is an unsupported configuration because there is a series of adapters in use.
If available, try using a different display and or adapter (or use a different connector by using DVI instead of VGA, for instance).
Reset the system
You can reset the Mac's parameter RAM and SMC.Reset the resolutionStart by resetting the Mac's parameter RAM. If the display does not come up, was previously set to an unsupported resolution, and still results in no video:
Start up in Safe Mode.
From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.
Choose Displays from the View menu to open the preferences pane.
Select any resolution and refresh rate that your display supports.
Restart your computer.

Thanks for the Return, I have two e-mail accounts, one from the cable provider and one from my Apple Account. In the past I have always been able to go to my Apple (Mac) account and click on Mail. It then asks for my user ID and my password. Nothing has changed on my end that I am aware of, but now when I try to open my mail it sends me to some search page instead. I have to go to Mail preferences, click on the .Mac tab, it opens up the stuff relating to my Mac Mail account and in this area my mail is now opened, I Hope This Helps Thank You, MI

@angus19 Power cycle the router. You may also try to access your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi account using a browser and check if you’re getting the same error message. If all else fails, reset and reconfigure the router.

You may try to use symbols to create an emoticons. For example for 'smiley happy', you can use the symbols colon ( : ), dash or hypen ( - ) and close parenthesis ( ) ). So, it can look like this :-).

What Mac model do you have? You might be able to upgrade the OS to Tiger 10.4 or Leopard 10.5.
Even browsers for Tiger 10.4 will get the update message.
You could try a newer browser than Safari, which is obsolete, by downloading Firefox v2.0.0.20 at http://www.oldapps.com/mac/firefox.php

I have created a navigation system on the master pages and set the presentation to links only mode. I also have other links scattered throughout the program, like a linkable table of contents, etc. Some of them work, some of them don't. Not sure why. Anyone out there having similar issues? Or have any idea on how I can solve this issue? Any help would be appreciated!

Links should not create any problems in Keynote. If they are set up correctly on text, the text will be underlined. Objects that have links will have a curved arrow bottom right, if you click the arrow a popup will display the link information.
Try this repair for Keynote, ensure you complete all the tasks and in the order shown:

delete all the iWork applications if you have them, not just Keynote, using Appcleaner from Mac Update, its a freeware application

empty the trash: Finder > Empty Trash

Shut down your Mac, wait 30 seconds, then power on the Mac, immediately after the start chime, hold down the Shift key
When you see the grey Apple symbol and progress indicator (a spinning gear), release the Shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, then hold down the Shift key again as you click Log in.

Let the Mac fully boot up, it will take longer as the OS is repairing the drive

when fully booted, go to Applications > Utilities > Disc Utility; click on the boot drive then First Aid tab and click repair disc permissions

when complete, restart the Mac normally, Apple menu > Restart

install Keynote from the Mac App Store
