Stop/Start Audio on Multiple Objects in Cp6

I've used Vish'sYouTube tutorial, "Using Play Audio Action" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52x5sgbzrgc), to set up three smart objects that play and stop audio on mouse click. It works great. However, as it's now configured, the user must click once to start the audio, once to stop the audio, and then yet again to start the audio on another object. This doesn't seem all that user friendly.
I'd like to set it so while audio from one object is playing, the user can click another object that will stop the currently playing audio and start the audio for the newly clicked object.
I'm sure this is pretty easy to do with advanced actions, but I just can't figure it out. I'd appreciate any help you can give.

You are correct that it's not very elegant.  But at the moment, almost nothing about HTML5 is 'elegant' when you compare it to Flash-based output.
In SWF content you can have multiple audio tracks playing at the same time.  You can have a background track, a slide voiceover, AND a click or some other sound happening when the user interacts with the content (object-level audio).  In HTML5 currently you can only have one audio file playing at a time.  Another limitation of the genre.

  • Captivate 6 - start audio a few seconds after the recording

    Hi,
    I have created a software demo video with multiple video recordings in the one project.  I now want to add audio. Ideally I would add one audio file to the background, so it plays over multiple recordings, but I need it to start a few seconds into the project.  The add silence feature doesn't work, even if I start the silence from one second in instead of the very beginning of the project/clip.
    Is there any way I can edit when the audio starts in a project? 
    Any ideas would be much appreciated!

    It sounds a little like you might benefit from getting some training in how to use audio in Captivate.  For some reason I'm not able to get the message across.
    It works like this:
    Slide Audio - Captivate DOES allow you to add audio at a specific point in the slide.  You just add an audio clip to a single slide either by recording it personally, or by importing audio files from elsewhere, so that you can synch with objects (e.g. highligh boxes, captions, animations) that might be appearing or disappearing on the timeline.  Move the audio to where ever on the slide you want it to be.
    Slides Audio (note the extra 's' in the name) - If you have an audio clip that needs to be played over several slides, Captivate allows you to do this via Audio > Record to > Slides.  Specify the slide range and then use the Import option to pull in the audio file (if you are not recording yourself).  Drag the markers around to synch the slide start points.
    Background Audio - Only add audio to the background for sound that you want to be playing regardless of what is happening on any slide or whether or not the user pauses the playback at some point.  Background audio is meant to be omnipresent.  You don't have the option of specifying when it starts, however, you can set it to loop or stop when the clip finishes playing.
    If you're talking about Background Audio, then NO you cannot drag it left or right on the timeline.  If you're talking about Slide Audio, then YES you can drag it left or right on the layer to change the start and end points.
    Object-level Audio - This is audio added to objects on the timeline.
    If you want to add silence to the beginning and end of the clip, you just need to use the suggestion I made earlier. File a bug or enhancement request if you don't like Captivate's standard behaviour of clipping off pure silence.  That's the way it's designed to work and Adobe may not class it as a bug.
    If your slide happens to be a video slide, then you will need to modify either the video or the audio if you want perfect synchronisation.
    Captivate may not match GarageBand or Audition for audio editing power, but it certainly has the basic required functions available in the Slide/s Audio dialog to allow synchronisation of audio with screens.  You can cut and paste audio from different areas of the same clip, import other clips to insert into the audio track, modify volume, normalise, change dynamics, etc.  Not enough power to make a hit record or movie soundtrack, but quite adequate for most e-learning developers.  If you want more powerful audio editing options including multiple audio tracks playing at the same time (not including the background audio) you can either create the multi-track recording in an audio editing package, or you could use object-level audio where objects placed on the timeline play audio clips as required.
    Now if you will excuse me, I have to get back to work...I think I've given enough free time on this topic.

  • After recent upgrade to Yosemite on Macbook air bluetooth audio cuts out and associated video stops with audio. Likewise with airplay and Apple TV. I have deleted all my saved wifi connections and restarted numerous times. I do not expect a resolutio

    May start my own thread, but I'm having similar issues.
    I've been using an old iMac (running 10.7.5) and Apple TV for years with no issues. Last week I bought a new Macbook Pro running Yosemite and have had audio issues multiple times. The weird thing is that sometimes it works flawlessly, other times (like now) I spend half an hour just trying to get a song to play.
    My issues are: When I got to "computers" in Apple TV to stream my music, my music is sometimes chopper or intermittent, and I seen to know when it's going to happen based on the status wheel just before it plays. When I choose a song, the status wheel will spin for an unusually long time, usually an indicator that the audio is either not going to work, or stutter.
    When it does finally pull up a song, the playhead sits at the beginning of the song for a good 3-5 seconds before actually playing. Then, when it starts playing, it's all downhill. It will play a few seconds, drop out, play a few more seconds, drop out, and then ultimately the playhead will keep moving across the song as if it's playing, but there's no audio.
    Again, this is a new phenomenon never experienced by me. I've tried everything I could think of, some of them all at once:
    • restart Apple TV
    • restart Macbook Pro
    • quite iTunes/open
    • turn off Home Sharing on iTunes then reconnect it
    • unplugging and cycling both my modem and router
    None of these have alleviated the problem.
    The odd thing is, like this morning, the audio started up perfectly and never gave me any issues. It wasn't until later in the day that it started. Perhaps after the macbook pro had been put to sleep? Not sure.
    Regardless, this is an annoying trait, one that's new to me and my system (as stated, worked flawlessly until my new purchase), and is 100% limited to either a) the macbook pro b) Yosemite or c) both of them.

  • AIR 3.3 stop background audio when another audio app is launched?

    I currently have audio playing in the background in my AIR app for iOS. My problem is that when you have the audio playing in the background, and you launch any other audio app on your phone...the audio starts to overlap because my AIR app does not stop playing audio. So when you open Pandora, Music, IHeartRadio, Youtube, etc...the AIR audio still plays.
    Is this fixed in the AIR 3.3 release with the <executeInBackground> tag? Or is there another way for my AIR app to recognize that another audio app is launching? All the afformentioned apps play nice together like that.
    I would think this would be grounds for not being accepted in the iTunes store.
    I really need some answers because my app is set to go live soon and this will be a game changer if I cannot fix it. I will probably have to try and create it in objective C

    It is very unfortunate that there is not a solution to this. It seems that building an audio/music player app via AIR for iOS is not really feasable due to this limitation.
    I would think the use case would be larger for my case because typically, when you launch a game on your iPhone, the background audio application stops the music. Or maybe just have a listener that could detect if another app was launched at least, so you could stop your AIR audio by choice. That would be great.
    Do you see this as grounds for an audio app being rejected? If the background audio does not stop unless you physically go back into the app and pause it?

  • ECR/ECO Workflow not working for multiple Objects

    Hello all,
    We have implemented ECR/ECO workflow by customizing the SAP standard one. We are facing a problem when entering multiple ECO objects such as mutiple Documents, materials, BOMs etc. When we create the ECR, two parralel workflow start (one for ECM and other for ECO) and depending on how many ECO objects we have included, multiple instances of ECO workflows will trigger (I think this is the standard behaviour as well but not sure)
    In our workflow, we have a wait step in ECO workflow that waits until ECM has been converted into ECO (ECOP status) and starts the ECO workflow. Also, we have created a Wait step in ECM workflow and that waits until the ECO workflows have reached the CONFIRMATED Step when the processing of the objects are finished.
    When we enter one object, both workflows start and ECO waits until ECM has been converted into ECO and then start the processing the Objects. when the ECO workflow is done (Status confirmated), it switches back to ECM workflow and then goes on with Close/Release steps of the Objects/ECO etc.
             But, when we have multiple ECO objects, both start well as ECR converts to ECO and the ECO starts and then work items are processed but then stops just before the CONRIMATED steps even though all objects are changed/maintained properly and  ECO workflows are completed. As a result, the control doesn't refer back to ECM and we never get the ECO close and Release step work items.
    I have checked SWETYPV, SWEL, business objects ECM and ECO but nothing gives a result..
    Any help would be appreciated..

  • Stop video audio when jumping to another label?

    Hey there I have a video with audio (showing within a "videoHolder" object) at one label, but when I click a back button to go back to the main menu at another label, the video disappears but the audio still plays.
    ie the video label is...

    a bit of newbee as well..
    i have poster... when you click on it... go to another part of the timeline... The video in the videoholder loads up. I have an action script....this works great...

    above the videoholder, I created a graphic box with an x for stopping the video.
    I create a trigger so the when you click on the X the action goes back start location where the videoholder is gone. Thus, back to the poster.  However, the video continues to play.  Here's the trigger i use, which works to get rid of the videoholder but not stopping the audio in the video.

    I am trying to build the dimendion in the ASO application it is throwing the Error meaasage " Dimension Biuld failed , ther may be problem in allocating memory".

    Thanks for your answer friend. My admin has successfully killed my session forcebully. And he doubted that i may not have enough rights to Stop/Start application and he provided me the required rights. After that also the error is repeating as below. we two are not getting where we went wrong.

  • Satellite L-50 can't play audio from multiple sources

    I can't play audio from multiple sources. This is very annoying when I have 2 youtube videos playing, if I start playing something on the media player, there is no sound on media player, it's the same when I have 2 media players open and 1 youtube video playing, youtube video doesn't have sound..
    I already have all the latest drivers, last DTS driver update was in 2014, sound update this year's february..

     I don't know if this makes sense, but I got newer DTS sound driver which I found, It's not my laptop model, but they all seem to be the same - v1.1.88.0 
    I uninstalled DTS software and still had the same problem, so it's not affecting sound driver in any way..

    I see that the option called “give exclusive mode applications priority” has been checked.
    Usually different applications and programs can access the sound card simultaneously.
    For example: you can hear the sound in game, while you can run your own music via an external player.
    This is prevented with these options “give exclusive mode applications priority”.
    Maybe you should disable (uncheck) this option to prevent the different applications for using this exclusive mode stream.
    I did it for my DAC. I set the DAC for exclusive mode. Once my audio playback software starts to play music, no other software is able to share the DAC.
    However, I use Win 7 and Realtek sound driver… It’s another configuration.
    So it’s not known to me if your issue is related Win 8.1 system or maybe limitation of sound driver… it could be also possible that one of your sound applications don’t allow multiple sound streaming.

    Now while reading it back, is it necessary to read the objects in the same sequence in which they were written or i can randomly read any object?

    If that's really a concern, you could write the objects to separate files.
    Alternatively, if you're really keen, look at RandomAccessFile. You'd have to build InputStream and OutputStream bridges to be able to use ObjectInputStream and ObjectOutputStream. You'd probably want to use BufferedInputStream and BufferedOutputStream in there too.
    You'd start by writing a long of value zero the file. Then use a new ObjectOuptutStream for each object (rembering to close each one), retaining a List of offsets into the file where the objects start. Then you'd write the List itself using another ObjectOutputStream. Finally you position back to the beginning of the file, and write the offset of the List as a long, overwriting the long zero value.
    The reading side is left for as exercise for the reader.
    This would allow you to read directly any object given its index into the List.
    This is only worthwhile if you're talking about lots of objects.
    And, as I said, only if you're keen :)

  • Pasting multiple objects into frame

    Greetings everyone
    I was wondering if someone could shed some light on how to best paste multiple objects into a single frame.
    Mainly, I'm trying to nest objects that form a part of a newspaper article header; since it's a design element that keeps repeating with each single article I don't want to spend time with manually positioning the elements each time--it's time consuming and prone to sloppiness.
    Unfortunately, the base frame will have about three objects that need to be nested within it. Once I paste one object into a frame, the next time I do `Paste into`--the content (previously pasted object in this case) just gets overridden.
    I've read that, to paste multiple objects into a single frame, one should group the objects first. Now this works pretty well for getting them into the frame, but leaves me with no options to position them relative to the frame. I can't move or position an object individually and I have no option to ungroup them once they've been pasted.
    Here's a small mock-up to depict my peculiar predicament:
    Ideally, I'm aiming to have the main header frame to fit the content of the nested objects and for it to be flexible enough that I can quickly span it across multiple columns as per article requirements.

    I'm not a working designer or production worker, so anything new takes me longer than I think it should, because I don't have a rich reservoir of quick methods at my fingertips.
    Your description above interested me, because I've been wrestling with the annoying limitations of manipulating and adding compound objects in anchored frames. For many situations, it's probably simplest to assemble each iteration of a compound object, that introduces a new element, outside the anchored frame, then group the elements and paste the grouped object into the anchored frame.
    However, the arrangement of elements in your example made me think that a table might be a workable solution. The answer I arrived at is "Yes, it's a solution, but it takes a while to set up." If it's reusable easily, then it might be worthwhile investing in a few experiments.
    I've attached a zipped idml interchange version of the file, and also a PDF.
    Here are some notes:
    * I created a table with three rows and three columns, no header or footer rows. Three columns because I thought I'd paste a vertical line into an inline anchored frame in the center cell of the top row, for the separator line. Later, I realized that defining the vertical cell rule as paper color would suffice, so I merged the two right cells on the top row to create a two-column row, with text in each cell and the vertical separator between them.
    * I merged all three cells on the second row into a single cell.
    * I merged the two right cells on the bottom row, but later, when I moved the cell rule to position the triangular graphic in the inline anchored frame in the right cell, it moved the vertical cell rule in the first row. So, I had to unmerge (or split) the cells, and cut/paste the triangular graphic's anchored frame into the rightmost cell. To position the anchored frame, I moved the vertical cell rule with Shift+Drag, to keep the table width unchanged.
    * I sampled the purple color with the eyedropper tool while cells were selected and the swatch panel was set to fill the selected object.
    * I didn't spend much time matching the type, as you can see. To position the text, I adjusted the cell margins in some cases, and left/right indention in some cases; I'm not sure which is more efficient in situations where there will be different amounts of text to fit. I didn't create cell styles or paragraph styles (BAH! Bad, bad, bad process) because I won't be repeating this stuff, but you probably will benefit greatly from defining styles for your repeating needs.
    * The triangular cut into the bottom row made it easy to manage creating and positioning the graphic. A non-geometrical object might be trickier. The triangle is a text frame, set to negative space above, so it overlaps the cell above it, enough to avoid a black gap.
    * Except for the vertical paper-colored divider line, all the cells have zero-width strokes.
    * I created the table in a text frame, that I fitted down to the size of the table, but I can't remember if I selected, copied, and pasted the text frame into the text flow to anchor it, or if I selected the table in the text frame, copied and pasted it into the flow. Not sure if it makes a difference in work efficiency.
    If I understand your general needs, this should work well for changing text and adjusting the column widths.

    Hi.
    I have two programs, BGroup.java, which creates a rotating sphere and coloring attributes etc. and some1Canvas3D.java which creates a canvas and simple universe and panel with buttons and works on the BGroup.java program by adding it as a branchgraph to the simple universe "simpleU.addBranchGraph(new BGroup());". what i'd like to do is that if one of the buttons in some1Canvas3D.java is pressed then i want to decrease/increase the radius size of the sphere in BGroup.java. and see this within the canvas.
    I'm not sure how this will work.
    If anyone has any ideas how to do this, that'd be great.
    The code for the two programs is below . i'm quite new to Java3D so i hope it makes sense.

  • Exchange 2007 Management shell issue: "There are multiple objects matching the identity "servername" Please specify a unique value"

    I thought this would be an easy answer to an issue I'm facing, but there's a problem executing the solution.
    I'm running Exchange 2007 in a clustered SCC configuration.  The clustered resource is called "DENBURYMAIL."  I want to give my account full mailbox access rights to all the mailboxes in this resource/database.
    I believe I found the solution to this at

    A: Exchange 2007 security works differently from that of Exchange Server 5.5. In fact, Exchange 2007 does not use a site service account. Instead, all services start as the local computer account.
    If your logon account is the Administrator account, a member of the root Domain Administrators, a member of the Enterprise Administrators groups, or a member of the Exchange Organization Administrators role, you are explicitly denied access to all mailboxes
    that are not your mailbox, even if you have full administrative rights over the Exchange system. All Exchange 2007 administrative tasks can be performed without having to grant an administrator sufficient rights to read other people's mail.

    But when I run the command (Add-ADPermission -identity "denburymail" -user "matthew.fazio" -ExtendedRights Receive-As) I get an error telling me that "There are multiple objects matching the identity "DENBURYMAIL."  Please Specify a unique value."
    I'm not sure what's causing this-- why are there "multiple objects?"  Is this a problem due to operating in a clustered environment?

    It may not be specific enough for the command to understand you.
    Try this:

  • Custom scrolller - issue with multiple objects....

    Hi,
    I'm developing a very simple custom scroller as a proof of concept. The idea is to have a background image(content_mc), lay multiple objects(myContent[i]) on top of the image, and scroll them all as a cohesive unit. However, I can not scroll myContent[i] appropriately; each object has a unique position and when I try to scroll them, they all assume one position(in which everything overlaps), move to that position and then scroll(see the ### comment below). Does anyone know how to accomplish this?(or does any of this not make the slightest bit of sense?)

    Thx for the reply. Below are the screenshots, where the "align consistently" issue is apparent. When I instantiate the objects, the objects align per the "Before scrolling" screenshot. As soon as I start to scroll, the objects all align to one position(targetY)i.e.: "After scrolling" screenshot. I understand why that is happening, what i don't understand is how to maintain the layout of the objects while scrolling, per:
