Required Solution : Stop to Create New Session Till User not Logon Successfully.

You said for security reasons you provided your users the possibility with another logon inside the SAP Logon? So there is another part of the applications that are accessed only when the user has the rights to work there? If so, shouldn't in-built roles assigned to the user be all that is necessary?
You should not be trying to disallow the user to create another session - as the session itself does not grant to him / her any privilegues. It is just another place where the user can work. And it should be held like that.
But maybe I did not catch your requirement - please provide more information about the Z-logon screen. What is it?

From a jsp page i open a page called student.jsp by clicking on students admision no.Therefore lots of pages can be opend in new windows with relevent student details.
but when i click on the link i called a servlet, get relevent details and redirect to student.jsp. The problem is ,all opened windows have same session id and there are session conflicts.

I actually was working on a problem that was similar to this, and the problem is with how each web-browser works with sessions...
Each browser window (Except in one case with IE) will use the same session in each window.
However, you might be able to use URL-Rewritting to manage your sessions and get around using cookies for for session tracking. I personally haven't tried this, but I'm betting that it will work.

SAPGUI iview from SAP Portal = create new session results in empty screen

we use ep700 sp10 and sapgui 6.40 compilation 5 . we have a sapgui iview which starts the login to the R/3 system and shows the user menu with some transactions.
if the user now creates a new session with the buttom "create new session" in the sapgui screen he gets a new but empty session ==> i expected , that he gets the normal sap entry screen with the user and sap menu.
does anybody now how to get that ?

Go to the file .../irj/root/WEB-INF/portal/portalapps/com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap/property/Transaction/WinGuiRenderLayer.properties
In this file, change -wp=true to -wp=false and also Workplace=true to Workplace=false.
Restart the portal for the change to take effect.

Creating new session manually

This is the scenario:
I'm using ie6. If I open a new window by clicking File-->New-->Window, it will open a new window with the same session as the opener window.
Now in my new window, I go to my login page, and in my login code, I set some value to the session, which will overwrite the value of the session in both window.
But what I actually intend to do is when the new window do the login, I want it to have a new session, so it won't overwrite the session in the first window.
I'm sorry if my explanation is a bit confusing. In short, what I want to do is create new session manually using java code. Is that possible?

No it is not possible.
The server can only issue a new session if it can distinguish between browser windows.
The internet browser treats the windows as being the same session, and that's what it tells the server.
If you start a new instance of IE using the shortcut from the desktop, that creates a seperate session, but any 'child' windows opened by javascript, or by file:new window are part of the same process.

Security Network Layer (SNC) error when creating new session

in SAPGUI 710, suddenly some users are getting a popup message ("Security Network Layer SNC error") when they use the Create New Session toolbar button.
SSO works fine when they connect from SAP Logon, its only when attempting to open secondary sessions. Also, its only some users.
Where would I find log information resulting from the error? Or any suggestions on steps to troubleshoot?

Issue actually belongs to BC-SEC-SNC, not SAPGUI.
The attached note advises how to run a trace to get more information about the issue
150104 collecting dev_trace of user session via SM04
If you recreate the issue again with the active trace, you might have more sucess with a reply.
Just to advise that 7.10 is out of support and 7.20 should be used as soon as possible.

How do I create new sessions in Firefox with no add ons ? Need not be logged in user sessions .

FF version being used is FF 3.6 .No possibility to include external addons to support this feature.Is there a way to create multiple new sessions ?

What do you mean by "multiple new sessions"?
Firefox 31 is the current release version, Firefox 3.6 is over 2 years beyond being supported by Mozilla.

OCI Punchout - Standard Call Structure - Creates new session each request

I am having trouble with a customer attempting to do OCI Punchout with the Standard Call Structure. I have other customers successfully punching out in this same system. Here is a breakdown of what is happening. Our catalog is a combination of classic ASP with VB6 Com objects
1 - The user POSTs their call structure to our /ocilogin.asp page and we set a session variable after successfully log in
2 - The user is then redirected to our /MainFrameLoad.asp page which houses our catalog.
3 - The problem occurs here because the Session_OnStart method in the global.asa file is called again, which should not happen because session has already been established. The logic in this method checks for the session variable created in /ocilogin.asp but it does not exist.
4 - It looks for a username/password via querystring and does another login, which then redirects them again to /MainFrameLoad.asp and the infinite loop begins.
I'm convinced that their system is creating new unique requests each time which is causing the session variable to disappear. I've tested their ability to accept cookies, which would also effect session variables, but that seems to be fine on their end.
My question is how can I tell if their system is properly handling cookies/requests? I have plenty of example of people punching out with the exact same call structure, but its just their system that seems to have the issue.

If your app. server is set up to accept session id's to be carried in the URL, then supply an empty or incorrect value as the session id and the application server will react by issuing you a new session.

Tomcat application creates new session on page reload

We have a tomcat application which works fine in IE7/8 and Firefox. The only browser we are having issues with (that we care about at this point) is google Chrome. Users can navigate to the application fine and log in and do whatever they need to do in Firefox and IE. However, when trying to log in with Chrome, the session is apparently lost immediately after log in and when the authenticated user tries to navigate to another page they are bumped back to the log in page. This happens consistently.
I have seen other entries here and elsewhere that suggest that the context path might be to blame. I have tried setting a ProxyReverseCookiePath but that does not fix the problem.

[XFCE][GDM] 'Switch user' creates new session

Hi there!
When I press the switch user action button in an XFCE session running on tty1, GDM starts up a second Xorg server running on tty2. Is this the intended behaviour?
I'd like to use the GDM login prompt for locking the machine, but this way anyone can just Ctrl+Alt+F1 back to the running session without entering a password.
Is it possible to lock the session and have the GDM prompt pop up for unlocking? (Like the lock function in Windows)

Why can't I get Pro Tools LE to create a session on my new iMac?

Summary
I can't get Pro Tools LE to open a session on my brand new iMac.
Detail
Pro Tools launches but when I go to create a session it seizes up, the beach ball spins and I have to Force Quit and send yet another note to the Apple teacher. It does this without fail. I've tried to rectify this by saving to different locations and different external hard drives. The problem remains the same.
I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, stripping the computer of anything that says "digidesign," etc... it doesn't work.
I am using the same Pro Tools with the same OS and the same Digidesign hardware on a MacBook Pro without a problem. Go figure.

I know what you're thinking... Snow Leopard is the problem. Right?
But the MacBook Pro has proven that theory wrong. The marriage between SL and LE8 on that notebook works fine.
As for LE on the iMac... At first it was 8.0.1 but now it is 8.0.3.
I upgraded to the supposedly Snow Leopard compatible Pro Tools LE 8.0.3 (pre-release) thinking that just maybe SL and LE8 weren't having as much fun together in the iMac bed as they were in the MacBook Pro. The result was identical -- stuck in Nowheresville.
I've been to the Digidesign discussion boards and the best I've been told so far is that my 3 day old iMac is a dud. On the other hand, away from Digidesign intoxication, some of the pros in the biz around town have said it's probably Pro Tools. Pro Tools they say is, at best, troublesome.
I'm planning on bailing out of Pro Tools altogether eventually and moving to an Apogee Duet with Nuendo 4 as I'm annoyed that I spend more time as an amateur paint-by-numbers technician than actually doing the job I'm paid to do. I'm also unhappy with expensive upgrades, lost paid for plugins due to upgrades and being railroaded into buying Avid gear only as demanded by the software.
But, in the meantime... I'm stuck with it. My own suspicions are that the cause of my troubles is the external hard drive and the FW400>FW800 conversion configuration but I'm not about to blow a few hundred bucks for a new hard drive based on a hunch that may not work. Your thoughts?
Any suggestions other than anything that involves screwdrivers and a cavalier mindset with the just out of the box hardware by a complete novice such as I are most welcome.

I have the same problem.
First I tried PT8LE 8.0 - didn't even start, afterwards i tried 8.0.3pr (1.25GB) - the same result. Now I downloaded the 8.0.3 normal (1.6GB) and it starts, but after I get to open/create new session dialogue box it just gives me the beach ball of death...
When I force quit PT it won't even start again and gets stuck at loading plugins (and there are just the bundeled one, no third party - it's a clean install of the whole machine).
I too have a week old 27" imac i5 with 10.6.2. On my old 24" with 10.6.1 it's runnig smoothly.
My external drives were off during this so I guess it's not a thing of the FireWire ports.
So I guess it's nothing positive or helpful, but You're not alone with this

New session created with every request

I have an web application that we used to deploy on tomcat, websphere and bea without any trouble. We are trying to move to support OAS and the application gives this peculiar behavior:
A new session is created with every single request by the client browser. I have searched these forums for the better part of today and read some interesting similar cases but none of the fixes seem to have any effect on my problem.
Is there a different way I need to request the session object from the request in the app for OAS? Or is there a configuration that I should have? I am deploying the app as a .war file. Is there a better way to deploy on OAS, should I stick the war in a .ear?
Any help on this would be most greatly appreciated!

I have a problem that matches with this subject line but its somewhat different. This original posting wants to create new session and invalidate the existing one but my problem is to keep the session invalide if it has expired for the browser.
Anyways, here is my problem. I have JSP named entity_actions.jsp which has 3 pop-up links that opens up with code like:

this loggers shows current_session as 'null' and I can display session exp mesg on the popup page. But when I click/open any other popup or any other link on the page it DOES WORK instead of having current_session = null, it creates new one. The same pattern of code used to work on Tomcat and JRun before for showing consistant session expiry on all the clicks being made on the same browswer after session gets expire.
Why OC4J / JDev 10.1.3 is creating new session on the same browser even after session has expired?
How can I fix this?
