 What a way to market your software.
As I wrote in my earlier post, this is a user-to-user forum, and this is not "our" software, as we are all users here.
I fully agree that the Adobe DLM is worse than useless, so I never use it.  There are direct download links for every Adobe product, posted multiple times in this forum.  You can find the FP download links here http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html if you are interested.
As for McAfee, I have never seen it on any of the executable installers from the above download page.  I don't know if this is something bundled with the DLM, which I have never used before (well, I repeat myself).

  • Compiling Firefox Mobile with ADS 1.2

    Hi,
    I'm trying to compile Firefox Mobile with ADS 1.2. But before starting, I would like to know from you guys whether it would be possible to compile Firefox Mobile with any of the ARM compilers so that I could put it into a phone having proprietory OS/platform?
    Please let me know as I would love to see Firefox Mobile on our handsets.
    == Extensions installed: ==
    As of now, I don't intend to use any extensions with Firefox Mobile.

    Initially changing the default application in Android is a snap. After you install the new application (new web browser, new messaging tool, new whatever) Android prompts you to pick which application (the new or the old) you wish to use for that task the first time you attempt to open a web page, check your text message, or otherwise trigger the event.
    *Grab your Android device and navigate to the '''Settings''' menu (either by tapping the physical '''Menu Button''' and selecting '''Settings''' or by opening your application list and selecting Settings as seen in the first panel. Navigate to Applications and then to Manage applications.
    and then clear your default settings, See:

  • How do I stop Firefox mobile from making it's own connections to Google, AmazonAWS and netDNA despite choosing every available opt-out?

    If I visit a simple web page which doesn't contain any 3rd party content I can still see Firefox Mobile making secure connections to:
    108.161.188.224 - Registered to netDNA in the US
    74.125.230.* - Various Google servers
    23.21.86.68 23.23.293.51 and many more - Amazon AWS servers
    These always follow any page load, browsing from a desktop system makes no such connections and are established on a website such as lwn.net which have no 3rd party content on their pages.
    I have unticked all options in telemetry and have no sync set up, I even tried disabling things like Safebrowing and add-on update checks in about:config but the very concerning connections remain.
    Please help me find the option to make this stop. As the communications are secure I can't look at what they might contain and it baffles me as to what purpose they serve but question one is how on earth do I disable the worrying connections to companies I choose to avoid.

    Hi tryingtoescape,
    On Firefox for Android there is a new experimental about page that tells you all of the network connections being made in Firefox.
    Try it, go to [about:networking]
    To disconnect, go to Settings > Privacy > Clear Private Data then restart Firefox on the Android device. This will minimize the active sockets.
    However even in private guest session there is safebrowsing.google.com, the default search engine and attached accounts. But you have already found a way to disconnect thest.
    Does clearing the Private Data make an improvement?
    For specific connections mentioned:
    108.161.188.224 - Registered to netDNA in the US 74.125.230.* - Various Google servers 23.21.86.68 23.23.293.51 and many more - Amazon AWS servers
    You may be able to try an add on, one found was: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/android/addon/silentblock/?src=search]

  • Why does Firefox Mobile stop loading when using VPN?

    When I'm connected to Private Internet Access VPN on my phone (using their app in the play store) occasionally Firefox gets into a state in which no webpages can be loaded. I can fix the problem in one of two ways: (1) use Google Chrome for Android or any other app that uses the internet or (2) disconnect from VPN and use Firefox without that protection. Sometimes when I reconnect to VPN, Firefox pages will load again but sometimes not.
    The loading bar in Firefox Mobile always gets stuck in the same spot, which I am thinking could be diagnosed to determine which part of the http protocol it might be stuck at. I am hoping I can attach a screenshot.
    I really believe in what you guys are doing. Keep fighting the good fight.

    It could possibly be that the dns is failing, but to be sure there would need to be a log and need to be tested on lte and wireless to see if its consistent.

  • Sync not working in Firefox Mobile 22

    I am running a private Sync server from
    http://docs.services.mozilla.com/howtos/run-sync.html
    with Firefox on almost any OS. Upgrading to version 22, Firefox Mobile on Android stopped syncing:
    - The special folder "Mobile Bookmarks" disappeared from the library
    - Even after deleting all local data on Android and reconfiguring the sync adapter it will not offer me any desktop bookmarks.
    Any developer knowledge on this (power user speculations won't do)?

    Hi viru,
    Please sign out of Firefox Sync on that device and log in one more time. I understand that you have successfully logged in, but nothing is happening.
    If this is not helping, I would recommend creating a new profile and copying the that in the current profile into a new one. [[Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles]]

  • What to do about Firefox Mobile constant crashes?

    Hi, I am using Firefox Mobile on my Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505 with Samsung Android 4.3. I keep getting a notice that Firefox has stopped or stopped red. I forget which. There is a choice whether to report or not.
    After this Firefox is closed.
    It's very annoying
    How to solve this?

    Actually, if you did all these steps, and you have deleted all cookies and cache, that means your browser is like a new Android application which you have downloaded right now, so last option is that uninstall your Firefox and re-install it, sorry for that, but i think it will solve your problem.

  • I can't see the body of emails in hotmail when using firefox 37.0.1 I can see them in IE and firefox mobile. Help please

    I resend some emails regularly with only slight changes to the email so I usually do a "reply all" or "forward" . Recently I cannot see the text in the body of the emails using FireFox, however I can see the complete email when using FireFox mobile or Internet Explorer. Any ideas what is causing the problem and how to fix it? I have tried to copy and paste the text into a new email but that didn't work.
    I am using Windows 7 SP1 Home Premium and FireFox 37.0.1
    Any help would be appreciated.

    DO NOT disable old program. REMOVE them.
    Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.
    * Clear the Cache and
    * Remove Cookies<br> '''''Warning ! ! '' This will log you out of sites you're logged in to.'''
    Type '''about:preferences'''<Enter> in the address bar.
    * '''Cookies;''' Select '''Privacy.''' Under '''History,''' select Firefox will '''Use Custom Settings.''' Press the button on the right side called '''Show Cookies.''' Use the search bar to look for the site. Note; There may be more than one entry. Remove '''All''' of them.
    * '''Cache;''' Select '''Advanced > Network.''' Across from '''Cached Web Content,''' Press '''Clear Now.'''

    Poke around safe web sites. Are there any problems?

    I uninstalled Adobe reader, then did the rest of your suggestions but the problem remains. It is only with 3 emails that get resent daily with slight changes to the text. It is like most of the text has been removed from the email.

  • How do I change the order of Bookmarks in Firefox Mobile?

    For Firefox Mobile (v4), I can't figure out how to change the order of bookmarks.
    What am I missing?

    Sorry, there's no simple way to sort bookmarks in Firefox for mobile.
    If you use Firefox Sync to synchronize bookmarks with Firefox on your computer, then you can move bookmarks around in the "Mobile Bookmarks" folder on your computer to re-order them on your phone.

  • Firefox mobile does not work in Samsung Fascinate, only get a blank screen for any search.

    I downloaded Firefox Mobile to my Samsung Fascinate. I had no problem with the download or installation. When I tried to do a search, all I got was a blank screen in the Firefox window. The Samsung Fascinate is set up to run only Bing. It does not like doing Google searches. When I try to force it to do a Google search through the existing Bing browser, I get the search result, but when I go to a site, none of the buttons work. In Firefox Mobile, I just get a blank white box in the Firefox window.

    You can continue using nightly builds without uninstalling. Fennec will offer to download a new nightly build whenever one is available.
    If you want to switch to a release version of Firefox, then you will need to uninstall the nightly build first. This will reset your history/bookmarks/settings.
    We are planning to release Firefox 4 beta 2 for Android later this week, so if you prefer to run an official release then you might to wait a few days and install that one.

  • What are the advantages of using firefox mobile

    I do not understand the advantage of using Firefox mobile over just clicking "internet" on my Android. Firefox mobile seems sluggish and slow. I would support it if I knew there was some sort of advantage. What might that be?

    Here is a list of some of the features you might like to try in mobile Firefox like add-ons, Firefox Sync, and more:

    I'm sorry that it's sluggish on your Android device! We are working on making it faster in future versions.

  • How to get get real, custom search engines on Firefox Mobile

    So, I have been trying for some time to get my own, favorite search engines into the Firefox Mobile search bar. I finally found a rather complicated workaround:
    Get a free account at www.shortmarks.com - use your spam-only Gmail address or similar.
    Manually create a search plugin for Shortmarks.com and place it in the "searchplugins" folder of Firefox Mobile. On my Android phone, the folder is in
    /mnt/sdcard/Android/data/org.mozilla.firefox/files/mozilla/XXXXXXXX.default/
    Create the search plugin as an .xml file with the following text:
    <SearchPlugin xmlns="http://www.mozilla.org/2006/browser/search/" xmlns:os="http://a9.com/-/spec/opensearch/1.1/">
    <os:ShortName>Shortmarks</os:ShortName>
    <os:Description>ShortMarks</os:Description>
    <os:InputEncoding>UTF-8</os:InputEncoding>
    <os:Image width="16" height="16">data:image/gif;base64,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</os:Image>
    <os:Url type="text/html" method="GET" template="http://shortmarks.com/s.php?q={searchTerms}">
    </os:Url><os:Url type="application/x-suggestions+json" method="GET" template="http://www.keywordssuggest.com/complete/search?output=firefox&amp;client=firefox&amp;qu={searchTerms}">
    </os:Url>
    </SearchPlugin>
    ... and place the file in the searchplugins folder.
    After this, you can create your custom searches with shortcuts on www.shortmarks.com, and use them directly from the address bar.
    So...: Is there an easier way of doing this?
    nrabett

    The search plugins from addons.mozilla.com can be installed directly in Firefox mobile, but - to my knowledge - not the ones from Mycroft. The advantage of using the self-made Shortmark search plugin it that it allows adding any search engine - not only the ones from addons.mozilla.com. Furthermore, you can import all custom search engines from an existing Desktop Firefox version to Shortmark, and access them directly by using the familiar abbreviations in the Firefox Mobile search bar - e.g., gb for Google Book search.
    The process of creating this very useful function would be far easier if www.shortmarks.com was added as a downloadable search plugin from addons.mozilla.com. As said, search plugins cannot be imported to Mobile Firefox directly from Mycroft.

  • Why can't I play any videos on Firefox Mobile?

  • Is there a Firefox Mobile version that will run on Windows 6.5 phones?

    I am using a Samsung Omnia II (SCH i920). Is there a Firefox Mobile program that will run on my phone. It is a Windows 6.5 device.

    Sorry, Mozilla stopped development on the Windows CE OS platform almost a year ago, and has no current plans to pick it up again.

  • Firefox Mobile zooming is not working on wordpress blogs

    I use Firefox Mobile with Android 2.2 on the Notion Ink Adam. Pinch zooming works great on most pages but with every blog powered by wordpress I encoutered this problem (e.g. juancole.com and ironically notionink.wordpress.com).
    The pinch gesture just stops working on these pages. I tried disabling JavaScript but that did not help.
    The default font size is too small and there is no obvious way too change it essentially rendering Firefox Mobile useless for reading these blogs on my Adam tablet.

    The mobile version of this site includes code to disable zooming. If you scroll all the way to the bottom of the page (hint: use two finger to scroll quickly to the top or bottom) and press the "Full Site" or "Regular Theme" link, then you will be able to zoom.
    It would be possible to write an add-on to let Firefox ignore the code to disable zooming, but as far as I know this add-on does not exist yet.
    You could also try the [https://addons.mozilla.org/mobile/addon/bigger-text/ Bigger Text] add-on. You will need to turn off the option to "ignore mobile sites" in the add-on's options.
