Stoped Import form Windows Media Player, Cant Restart
I finally instaled Itunes yesterday and about 600 songs into my 1000 i accendently closed itunes and a now i can not get the import and the WAV convert stoped. Could someone please tell me how to get it back going again.
iTunes cannot import WMA protected songs.
Are these CDs you imported into Windows Media Player (WMP)?
If so, you will have to reimport them into iTunes from the CD.
Also, open WMP, Tools -> Options.
Select the Copy Music tab.
Deselect Copy Protect Music.
This will keep from apply DRM to any music you import using WMP.
This should not be a problem since you will be using iTunes for all imports in the future, correct?

Importing from windows media player
i have all my music stored in windows media player. and when i go to import it to my itunes from there it wont let it happen. it actually does nothing. i have over 400 songs that i would like on my ipod but have no clue on how to get it there. help!!!
Are these protected WMA?
If so, you will need to burn them to an audio CD first.
If they are not protected, you can darg them to iTunes and they will be converted. -
Import/export windows media player / codec
okay, I don't know what a codec is, but my wife's camera canon SD400 shoots pretty good video for 20 seconds. It saves it as an .AVI file. My camera a minolta does a minute of .MOV files which is pretty poor.
I bought a AIPTEK MPVR to play with with runs on a WINdoze machine and i just happen to have on to experiment with. I would like to take the video with this little machine and maybe export it to .AVI files. the package says I can do this... Will I be able to see the .AVI file on my mac using QT???
Any programs that would let eventually edit the footage on a MAC???
thanksHi John:
You may be able to import the AVI right into imovie (Canon cameras often use mpeg or quicktime codecs), but if not, you need QT Pro so you can export the avi file to a DV stream to open it in iMovie.

Ok I recently upgraded to firefox 5.0, and then when I went to a website that uses windows media player to watch videos and news reports, it said I needed to download the windows media player plug in for firefox. And yet I had already done that in the past. So it directs me to the plug in for windows media player 11, I download and install and it doesnt work. Website repeats the same message, you need to download plug in. It was working fine with firefox 4.0! I use the OS Windows 7, 64bit. Any help please?
Yes I did, at first it identified it as already there, so it gave the option of repairing it, etc, so I uninstalled the Windows Media Player, then Installed it again, and it still doesn't seem to work! I have the same problem with several other plug ins, in the add ons and plug in section of Mozilla tools, I see that say, "incompatible with firefox 5.0" but as days go by those add-ons, that are built by those other websites seem to be repairing it, but I wanted to know for something as important as windows media player plug in, am I the only one getting this problem? :/

Is there a way to import music from my windows media player, if so how?
Is there a way to import music from my windows media player, if so how?
Exploter the settings in Windows Media Player. It should tell where it is currently storing files. You can also enable the path column in WMP to see where individual tracks are stored. See also Getting iTunes & Windows Media Player to play nicely.

My music is on a nas. Loaded using windows media player in WAV.
When I import into Itunes only the record apears, no Album name etc
How can can I see all the detailsInformation is often stored as tags embedded in the file. WAV does not support tagging. I don't know how WMP works but iTunes keeps its own database about media. For many audio formats, track information will be stored both in iTunes' database and in the file itself as tags. With formats such as mp3 most tags (not all) will 'travel' with the file when copied. This does not happen with WAV where the information is only stored in the player application's database.

How do i import music from windows media player to I-tunes?
can someone please let me know if there is a way to move all of the music i have in Media Player to itunes. Thank you
* To import all the audio files in a folder, choose File Add Folder to Library, and then locate the folder containing the audio you want added to your library. The My Music folder (inside the My Documents folder) is often the default location for song files imported into other applications, such as MusicMatch.
By default, adding songs to your iTunes library places a pointer to each audio file in the iTunes Music folder; the original file remains in the current location. For information about copying files to the iTunes Music folder instead of referencing them, search help for "copying files to your music folder."
If the file is an unprotected WMA file and you have Windows Media Player Series 9 or later installed, iTunes makes a copy of the file in AAC format—or whatever format is chosen in the Advanced pane of iTunes preferences (in the Importing pane) —and adds it to your iTunes library. The original WMA file remains unchanged. You can't add protected WMA files or protected WMV files to iTunes. -
HT1849 how to import music and video from windows media player
I want to import my music and videos from the windows media player, and I want to import or put it all in my itunes library. How do I do that. I know there is a button.
Am I missing it? Can someone help me please. I am working off of a laptop. If that helps anything. In Media Player music list, make sure the "Protected" column is displaying. Sort by that column. Any songs that are protected can not be converted to iTunes. You will have to re-rip the CD with the WMP setting to be to not protect the songs.
I had the same problem with album covers and could never fix it. I just gave up. I spoke with people at Apple stores and nothing they suggested worked. -
Import library and playlists from Windows Media Player without duplicates
How do I import all the music and playlists from Windows Media Player into iTunes without creating duplicates?
I add the folder containing all my music to iTunes and all my music arrives nicely. I begin importing playlists and the playlist comes over with all the songs duplicated in my library. Most of my songs are on playlists but some are not.
After adding the music folder (approx 7000 songs) then all the playlists, my iTunes library now contains over 13,000 songs. The increase is due to the duplicates being created as the playlists are added.
If I skip adding the music folder and just add the playlists I get most of my music without as many duplicates but I am missing the songs which are not on any playlist. Thanks. If it' sprotectged WMA files, no you can't add them.
If they are plain WMA (like RIPped from a CD) you can File -> Add to library and iTunes will import and convert them. -
Problem with import files from windows media player into iTunes
When I have tried to import my .wav lossless files created under windows media player into iTunes I use File, add folder to library but when the action is completed I get all of the files under the heading 'unknown album' with 'unknown artist'.
Does anyone know that I need to do in order to include the artist and album ?
Many thanks,
John. You'll first need to add the MP3s to your iTunes library since the iPod is not compatible with Windows Media Player. You can use, for example, the File > Add to Library menu to do this.

How can I import Windows Media Player Playlists, into iTunes Playlists, with Music . . for an iPod
We are having no luck with the thousands of songs we have to manualy add to a particular playlist in iTunes alone. .. there must be a simpler way! How can this be done . . . if there is and it's complicated, is the Genius allowed to help us out with this? They seem to only master Mac's only. . or can they help us? PL E A SE E E HELLPPP!tt2,
Your very helpful and knowledgeable. I for one appreciate all the hardwork and help you have been giving the people on theses lists, especially with the problems associated with the "importing playlists" from windows media. Unfortunately I need more help if you or someone else can provide it. I followed all the steps you have instructed so far in the threads I have seen. Unfortunately nothing so far works for me. Maybe you or someone can help me, I'd really appreciate it. I tried the notepad++ method and when I click on save I always get a notepad file that my iTunes can't do anything with. I click the "convert to UTF-8 without BOM" then click save as and it still saves as a notepad file. I am also unable to find the \n\ file path to replace with my \C:\ filepath. Here is a copy of the first part of one of my playlists:
<?wpl version="1.0"?>

Now I went and switched the part from <media src="..\ to <media src="C:\ in all the files in hopes that was where I am supposed to have my drive letter but it didn't seem to help. Please forgive my encoding ignorance if that's what my problem is. I hope you can help. Thanks in advance.
