Stopped connecting to network

Apple TV2 was working fine them one day couldn't find network and stopped connecting.  Tried re-booting no luck.  Wireless network working fine all other devices working on it.

So how did you fix it before on the other devices?  There is some WiFi connection issue.  Since it happening with multiple devices it sounds like it is something with the WiFi hot spot.

  • Original airport card mysteriously stopped connecting to network

i have a powermac G4 tower and have been using the original airport card for about four months. Just recently it stopped connecting to the network at all. the bars are all gray on the menu bar and when i try to connect to any network in the drop down menu the popup window just says "there was an error connecting to the specified network" when I go to network diagnostics and try to connect it asks for a WEP pasword even though none of the networks require a password and network security is set to none in system preferences for the network. I've been able to get a connection back a couple times but it was only by restarting my computer and that hasn't worked for a couple days. Is my airport card broken or is there something wrong with the operating system? I've also talked to the tech support people for the wireless network I'm using and they had no clue how to help me.

I had trouble getting my Airport card online for the longest time. Finally, I ditched the Linksys wireless router I was trying to use, and switched to a D-Link. I still don't always get full signal, but I can get online 95% of the time.
Have no idea why it worked, but it definitely works better than the Linksys.

  • Imac suddenly stopped connecting to network

sorry if this topic already exists somewhere. i've been searching these forums for an hour and can't find any useful help on the subject.
we bought our first mac almost 1.5 yrs ago. this beautiful 27" imac worked fine for 1 year and then suddenly stopped connecting to our wireless network. distance to the wireless router isn't an issue. doesn't matter where i move it to in the house, it sees the network, but won't connect anymore. 6 other laptops/video game consoles/pc's all continue to connect w/o a problem. this happened once approx 3 months ago and i figured our old router had kicked the bucket, so i bought a new router and it worked fine for several months and now it's happening again.
i've gone thru all the preliminary steps of unplugging the modem, the router, the imac, and renewing the dhcp but nothing helps. it will work fine if i wire it directly to the router, but i don't want to run a 75ft ethernet cable thru the house.
i'm so frustrated with this supposedly wonderful imac! can anyone help me?

Here's something to think about... I know my AT&T DSL Cable Modem will only allow a certain number of connections. A few years ago that might not have been an issue, but now with wi-fi cells, gaming systems with netflix, other laptops/ipads, you might be exceeding that limit. It could be they are all connected and you don't have a spot on the router.
This might be elementary, but thought I'd throw that out there.

  • My macbook pro (lion 10.7.2) stopped connecting to wireless internet even though network indicates it is connected - full bars.

My macbook pro (10.7.2) just stopped connecting to the internet. 2 other macs in the house are working fine. All 3 are in the same room as the airport. The macbook network icon indicates it is connected with full bars. We have turned the computer off and on, but no effect. Any ideas?

Have you tried turning Airport off and then on again? My own q about this is somewhere in the answered q's--what worked was either the Airport on-off or something my phone company did while I was fiddling with Airport. Good luck!

Oh no! Lets ensure that you are connected. Have you tried to reset the Network Extender? Are other devices able to connect to the Extender? Is your Internet service up and running?

My iPad stops connecting to my home wi-fi.  My Macbook and iPhone are fine.  I have tried everything suggested.  This happened last week and I was able to reset the settings.  Today I have spent over one hour trying to reset my network connections.   My son was here today and his new iPad connected OK... mine was working earlier today.  What must I do now? I am going to take it to work tomorrow and see if it connects to the Wi-Fi there.

This may help explain the WiFi issue.  I have the 3G/WiFi version and have problems with WiFi connections also.

  • Imac and Macbook Pro suddenly stopped connecting to my wireless network

I am having the strangest problem. I've had a linksys router for years and my network has worked fine. I have a 2008 iMac, a new Mac Book Pro, Xbox 360, and a PS3 connected to it. Yesterday, the Apple products stopped connecting to the linksys, however the Xbox and PS3 connected fine. I thought it was my router being the problem so I went to Apple Store and bought an airport express to just set that up as my primary router. I could not set it up the normal way wirelessly as neither my iMac or MBP would pick it up via the Airport Utility tool. I had to hardwire it to my iMac to get it set up. It seemed to not be working however the green light did eventually come on. My xbox connected to it fine, however the iMac and MBP would not connect. Both did end up connecting but only for a short time and now neither can find the Airport Express. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what my problem is? It just doesnt make sense that both mac computers stopped picking up the linksys at the same time, and neither will really pick up the Airport express either. I'm just so distraught over this because I had everything working fine such as sharing files, wireless printer, Apple TV, etc.

Hi there, I have exactly the same problem, one year with imac and a few months ago my wireless network disconnected and kept disconnecting and connecting on and off, it's not the Internet because laptop and other aps are ok
Today I tried contacting Virginmedia to see if they could help and they told they are not trained for mac! Anyway they suggested to try to use the "renew DHCP lease" button in the TCP/IP page in network settings and it seems it is working better now, lets see if it lasts...

  • Macbook Air 2013 model stopped connecting to the wireless network

My 2013 MacBook Air has suddenly stopped connecting to my network. It is often intermittent and will kick me off the network if anyone else is connected. I think it is something to do with my Linksys router and the new Apple Airport card.
Do I need to get a new router and if so do I need the Apple Wireless router?

  • Macbook air stopped connecting to The Cloud wifi network in the UK

I used to be able to connect to The Cloud wifi network in local bars, cafes and restaurants on all my apple devices, but my macbook air has stopped connecting to this network. My iPhone and iPad still connect no problem. The bar at the top of my macbook air tells me I'm connected to The Cloud wifi, but I am not taken to the login page and hence can not connect to the internet. This used to work no problem. I'm not sure, but this issue may have occurred around the time I installed OS X Mavericks. I have recently installed OS X Yosemite and still have the same connectivity problem. My macbook air connects to other wifi networks such as my home network and my work clients' networks. Any help or advice anyone can offer would be much appreciated.

G-band networks generally will have a stronger signal than n-band.
Tell it to ignore the g network and only connect to the N-band network.
Open Network System Prefs, select WiFi, and click Advanced...
    Click on the WiFi tab.
Find you g-band network in the list and delete it.
Check the box to Remember networks this computer has joined.

  • Iphone 4s wifi suddenly stopped connecting to home network

My iphone 4s suddenly stopped connecting to my home wifi 2 weeks ago, now it won't even bring it up on the list of available networks. I have tried resetting network settings, have tried manually connecting but it says "unable to locate network". Why would this all of a sudden start doing this when I have had this phone for over a year. My husbands iphone 4 has no problems whatsoever and connects to our home network just fine so I know it is not the router. This is so frustrating

I'm currently suffering from this problem as well. If you or your husband can get your iPhone open, there may be a screw in the upper antenna area of the iPhone that is loose (this screw grounds the antenna to the chip/mainboard).
    http://www.iphoneshopusa.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/top-shield-iphone4- wifi-problem1.png
It's pointed out in the image above. Many have tightened the screw and said their Wi-Fi optimally again. Having a phone for a year does mean a lot of wear-and-tear: dropping, vibration, heat, all accumulate so that the delicate components inside get knocked around and, in this case, loose. Try this method! (If you can, of course.)
    Good luck!

  • Suddenly my iphone 4 stopped connecting to the 3g network although the 3g symbol is there on the left of the screen

suddenly my iphone 4 stopped connecting to the 3g network although the 3g symbol is there on the left of the screen did this happen with anyone ??

  • My ipad 2 suddenly stopped connecting to my home network..

I was browsing the internet on my ipad and suddenly it stopped connecting to wifi. I wondered if there was a problem with the router but I was able to connect with all the other devices. I treid restoring my ipad to the latest version (ios6.1.3) and resetting network settings but they did not work. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button
