'Stopped' pint jobs

When I try to print from Aperture to my Epson R1800 nothing happens and the job's status is 'Stopped'. I can print from other apps to this printer. I have not been able to print for some time, likely since an OS update from a month or two ago. Have uninstalled and reinstalled drivers (v. 6.12) and Aperture 2.1. Nothing helps. See also the July 3 post: "problems printing anything from apperture.." for same problem. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Well, I'm grasping at straws now. This is from the help menu;
*If you can’t print to your printer and you’ve tried all other solutions, reset the printing system. This process deletes all printers from your Printer list, deletes information about all completed print jobs, and deletes all printer presets.*
*To reset the printing system:*
*Choose Apple menu > System Preferences and click Print & Fax.*
*Hold down the Control key as you click in the Printer list, and choose “Reset printing system” from the pop-up menu that appears.*
*Add the printers you use.*
Another thought. Does Leopard include it's own printer driver for your printer? If so maybe try it rather than the one from Epson.
I can't think of anything else at this point. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than I comes along.

  • How to stop print job in SAP?

Can some help in explaining how to stop print job in SAP .???
    i

    HI Swati,
Thanks for the additional info. as per previously mentioned use SM37 - however be sure to check the box ''Sched' when performing the search for the job in question (and untick the others so the resulting list will be clearer to read etc.)
You can then choose to delete the job and reschedule it to different periods via SM36
    Best of luck,

  • Cannot stop Oracle job

    Hi there,
I have a scheduled backup job which set to run daily, for some reason or another it has failed and it's current status is skipped and has been so for the last couple of days. I have tried to stop the job, but it sill remains there in the same state. I have tried restarting the database, but have had no joy.
How can I stop the job, and getting it back on schedule?
    Thanks...

The job is a database backup job which reported an obscure error the other day, I posted it but got no useful replies as to the nature of the error, the error was as follows
Failed due to Unexpected error. No future executions will be scheduled. Details: ORA-28239: no key provided
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_CRYPTO_FFI", line 67
    ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_CRYPTO", line 44
    ORA-06512: at "SYSMAN.DECRYPT", line 9
I have restarted the database and now I plan to stop the job and reshedule it, but the problem is that I can't stop the job, any suggestions?

  • Stop a job from printing

Hope Experts how are you today?
One of our users created a job SD_203_Z_AUTO_DEL.  Everytime this jobs runs it prints out. She would like to stop this job from printing. Is there anything in SM37 job overview that I need to change. If not in SM37 than were do I go. I see that SU01 under Spool Control OutputDevice is QU6, but if I change this than she won't be able to print anything. Sorry for the novice question. I don't spend alot of time in SAP these days........

Using transaction SM37, you can select the job from the list and select Job -> Change from the menu.  Select the Step button, which will list the steps in the job.  Select the step (program) that creates the output and select Step -> Change from the menu.  There should be a Print Specifications button at the bottom of the screen.  Select this button and then select the Properties button.  Change the Time of Printing to 'Send to SAP spool' and save all of your entries.

You could cancel the Job in SM51 transaction. Choose your PID from SM51 and go to menu-->choose cancel without core. It takes some time to cancel the job completly.

  • Stopping Background job in Risk Analysis and Remediation

    Hi,
We have scheduled background job for Batch Risk Analysis in CC 5.3. Later we have terminated that job for some reasons. But that terminated job status is showing as Stopping from past 3 days. How we can cancel that job?
We have restated the J2E server but the job is still running. Please suggest me how we can stop that job immediately.

    Hi,
If you have access to oracle backend then I can tell an work arround for this issue,
when the job is in stoping status then you can delete an entry from VIRSA_CC_JOBHST table.
    The command is
    SQL> delete from  VIRSA_CC_JOBHST where jobid=your jobid and status=3;
After running this command the job in the RAR will show aborted status then the delete button will be enabled and if you want then you can delete that job from RAR screen.

  • Dbms_scheduler - how to stop a job in next run

    HI All,
I have scheduled a job to run every 20 mins. Its a collection of procedures. During business hours, the scheduled job runs more than 1 hour because of this next cycle will be in queue, Once this cycle completes next wil be triggered in micro seconds.
I need to stop this JOb after completing the current cycle. I tried stop_job. I failed. Also I am not able to find the Job in scheduled state, due to above conditions. Its always in running state. I dont want to stop the current cycle forefully.
Maintenance window is running, I need to stop the Job after it completes current run.
Is it possible ? Can some one help me to achieve this.
    Thanks

    Thanks for the replies.
    I already tried with dbms_scheduler.disable('name');
It failed due to running Job. I dont want do it forcefully due to business requirement. cycle shouldnt be killed.
stop_job - though I stop the next run. subsequent runs are in queue. job frequency is 20 mins. But job runs for 60 to 90 mins. because of this, many jobs which are in queue are kicked off one by one.
    How to proceed ?

  • Printer keeps 'stopping' every job i send

i've read several discussions about this, none seem to help so i thought i'd try too.. hope this is the right place to post though!
I have a Lexmark x5260 all in one printer, it's always worked with windows and it used to work with this mac. Sometimes it does, but most of the time i print something and it stops every job. When i resume it stops it again. I've tried deleting any quewes, restarting, reconnecting, and i think i set it up correctly. Is there any obvious solution?! the printer still works when i connect it to my laptop running windows...
    thanks

    Hello Ozma76 and others,
First I am mainly an OS 9.2 user but I am learning more about X.
We use X.3 in work (school) and I am learning a few things you could try.
First what application are you printing from?
When you go to print do you check in the print dialog box to be sure the correct printer is selected? Also if applicable check the page set-up before printing. Are these printers networked?
The things I would try are these:
    1. - Try printing just a small (few letters) from application. Does it work?
    2. - Try another application - does that print?
    3. - If the answers are no.....I would then go to #4
    4. - Go into the sysytem preferences and go to the print center.
    5. - Highlight your printer and hit the (minus) sign to delete it.
    6. - Make sure the printer is on and connected......
    7. - Then in the print center...hit the (plus sign) - The computer will look for drives for the printer you are using.
    8. - Apple has pre-installed many drivers and if worse case you need to re-install drivers or download them from the company site.
I think this will get you printing....This is what we have done several times in school. Post Back.........Jim

  • Can't stop a job from plsql 27486 - stops fine from sql

    Hi,
I'm trying to create a simple package that will stop known jobs that the user owns. (Same user owns the jobs and the package)
    the code just does
    dbms_scheduler.disable('JOB_EMAIL_QUEUE', TRUE);
    dbms_scheduler.stop_job('JOB_EMAIL_QUEUE', TRUE);
    At stop_job I get
    ORA-27486 insufficient privilege
    ORA-06512 at "SYS.DBMS_ISCHED", line 164
    ORA-06512 at "SYS.DBMS_SCHEDULER", line 483
Yet if I put the exact same code in an anon block it runs fine in sqlplus for the same user. The user holds the role SCHEDULER_ADMIN but I have now granted him execute access on both dbms_isched and dbms_scheduler.
    Whassup?
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Hi,
I think what you're seeing is caused by the following two facts
    - a user must have the manage scheduler system privilege to stop a job with force=>true
    - definer's rights pl/sql stored procedures don't honour system privileges granted through roles. See
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B14117_01/appdev.101/b10807/08_subs.htm#sthref1072
The simplest solution is to grant MANAGE SCHEDULER directly to the definer of the definer's rights stored procedure.
    Hope this helps,
    Ravi.

  • Can't stop a job

    Hello,
The job "refreshfrommetalink" is running since 4 days and I can't stop it through the manager.
When I click on "Stop" the job is flagged "Stop pending", but it dones not stop.
On other screens it is still flagged "Running".
How can I stop it ?
    Version 10.0.1.2
    Regards

I have had some success with finding the offending session and killing it, then killing the offending OS process.
Since we are using RAC (on RHEL), and the session is known to be running under a job class, which runs under a service, we find the offending session by:
    select sid, serial#, status from gv$session where service_name = 'BACKUPS';
    SID SERIAL# STATUS
    3185 4664 ACTIVE
    Then issue: ALTER SYSTEM KILL SESSION '3185, 4664' IMMEDIATE;
    SID SERIAL# STATUS
    3185 4664 KILLED
Now, find the OS process associated with that SID (assuming you are using UNIX):
    select s.username, s.status, s.sid oracle_sid, s.process unix_pid, s.serial#, p.spid, s.machine, s.lockwait
         from v$session s, v$process p
         where s.sid = '&oracle_sid'
         and s.paddr = p.addr
    Enter value for oracle_sid: 3185
    USERNAME STATUS ORACLE_SID UNIX_PID
    APP_SERVER INACTIVE 3185 1234
Then, leave sqlplus, and kill the offending OS process using a command prompt on the server:
    kill -9 1234
After this, the job can be disabled/modified/dropped

  • How to stop backup job on enterprise manager

    Hi
I have a rman job on enterprise manager which takes backup of all the datafiles everyday.
How can I temporaraly stop the job and resume later? The job hasnt started yet.
Database is oracle 10g. operating system is unix
    regards

If you stop it, it will not run again and you won't be able to reschedule it. Killing sounds like it will solve your problem.
    To kill:
Once you click on the "Running" link next to the job_name, you should see these two links (the second one may take a few seconds to show up):
    Step: Prebackup
    Step: Backup
Click on the "Step: Backup" hyperlink. There will be a "Kill Step" button at the top right corner.
If you don't see it, you can also connect to the database itself and kill the RMAN SIDs. This should show the job's status as "Problems". You can then edit the "Scheduled" job that should have been created.
As for the run tomorrow, make sure you delete the O/S files created by the killed job if they are still there and run "crosscheck backup" (from RMAN or Grid/Manage Backup). This will make sure RMAN doesn't skip any datafiles at the next run.

  • Stopping a job

    Hi All,
Today i received a request from a user to stop a running job which is scheduled from dbms_job.
I killed the job by killing the os id.
Again the job started and i killed it again an so on....
then i tried disabling the job from DBArtisan but i received an error stating that only job owner can remove or delete or disable the job....
    Is that true???
I asked the user to remove it using dbms_job.remove(job id) and he is able to do so.
And finally i killed the os id.
    My Questions are
    1) Is there a way to stop or kill a running job?
    2) Whether sysdba can remove or delete the job?
    Thanks in advance.
    prem

    1) Is there a way to stop or kill a running job?once a job is started and running, there is no easy way to stop the job.
    2) Whether sysdba can remove or delete the job?Jobs cannot be altered or deleted other than jobs owned by the user. This is true for all users including those users granted DBA privileges.
    Regards.

    Hi,
It seems that the issue is in the timer job definition for executing this operation.
My suggestion is to start the service again and delete the job definition from the error and again try to stop it.
    This might be helpful:
    http://sharepoint.stackexchange.com/questions/22368/is-there-a-powershell-cmdlet-to-delete-a-timer-job
I had a lot of issues in the past when try to stop this instance after the Web apps are provisioned.
As general rule now If I have multi-server Farm topology that has servers that should not serve Web App requests I turn off the service prior to provisioning any Web Apps in the Farm.
