Stopped receiving email messages

I have a Blackberry Curve 8300 and my ISP is earthlink.net. Everything has been working fine until today, when I stopped receiving email messages on my Blackberry. I just checked, and I can send messages fine, evidently, but not receiving them.
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Hmmm...I'd suggest a couple of things. First, a reboot:
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation.
If that fails, then try resending your service books:

Give those a try and let us know.

My LG G3 has stopped receiving email from my pop3 road runner account.  It just has an "updating" message.  It worked fine for the first two weeks and nothing now.  Any advice?

This started about 3 days ago.  I could manually push email through in the last few days but can no longer.  I have deleted the account and re-entered the settings but I get a message that I cannot connect to the server.

  • Iphone stopped receiving emails from verizon; error message wrongly says username and PW incorrect

Yesterday (10/21/13) my iphone 3 stopped receiving emails from my verizon account and error message says "the user name or password for verizon in incorrect," even though I know the user name and password are correct and I am receiving emails from verizon on my ipad and I mac. In addition, after I "reset." the phone by pressing the "home" and "off" buttons together until the apple logo appeared, I lost all of the emails that were on the iphone's mailboxes. What is wrong and how do I fix it?

Here is the solution given to me by a very helpful Verizon phone agent.  Go to your Verizon mail account under settings.  Under Incoming Mail server, change host name to pop.verizon.net.
Under Outgoing Mail Server, change host name to smtp.verizon.net.
Make sure Use SSL is on for Incoming and Outgoing Mail Servers.
She said the above is the solution that has worked for most people who are having trouble receiving and or sending Verizon emails from their Iphones since Monday October 21.  She said that if this solution did not work, it is then an Apple problem and I would then need to go to Apple's email client support for troubleshooting sending and receiving email messages (for MAC in my case).  After writing down all of the passwords and configurations for verizon email currently on my phone, including the new host names above, I ended up deactiving my verizon email account and then reimputing all of the passwords, configurations, ... .  It worked!  My verizon email was back and running.

  • Mail app stopped receiving AOL messages

Three days ago I stopped receiving emails into my AOL account using mail.app, although I am able to send messages outbound. I only have the AOL smtp server as my outbound server, so my connection to AOL apparently must be working. I am able to see messages when I access AOL on their website and see messages there. However, it appears that the imap session isn't communicating with mail.app. I considered deleting and recreating the AOL account, but I don't want to lose any of my archived messages. Any ideas? Thanks

Similar problem. I am helping a friend set up her new Macbook. She is using MAIL. Is an AOL user and has set up her AOL iMaP account in MAIL
It was not receiving or outgoing. she had a wrong PORT. I changed the settings so that port 587 is used . Briefly all her mail came in, including todayss.
Suddenly, mail cannot be viewed although red balloon on the MAIL icon says 600+ messages.
WE cannot send out either. Keep getting server error for smtp.aol.com
HOw do we set up MAIL to receive AOL imap account messages and send them?

  • TB stopped receiving emails after one with huge attachment. Updated TB. Can send but not receive. Using Yahoo POP server. Browser access works fine.

Several days ago, after receiving a 7MB attachment, I stopped receiving email on my Yahoo POP account. Browser access to the Yahoo server works fine. I obviously deleted that message and attachment but curiously, it and only it continued to be downloaded to my inbox!!! I tried downloading a new TB and installing it. Nothing changed except that specific email no longer appeared (another did though, see later). Settings are to leave msgs on server until I delete them. I transferred all my inbox to a local folder and then compacted mail and tried testing reception from another source and nothing appeared on TB, just on browser access. Oddly, one very old message repeatedly appears, I assume as a result of the auto check for new mail but not sure. Though I try to delete this old message, I can't. I haven't removed and recreated account yet because I don't want to lose all the filter history. Scanned for solution and can't find any. Any ideas, please?

Starting your mac in safe mode will disable the Symantec stuff long enough to download mail. Should the issue arise again

  • My iPad has suddenly stopped receiving emails. I have tried every trick and it's still not working.

My iPad has suddenly stopped receiving emails from the mail app.
I've been looking through the forum for hours and tried every variation of deleting the account, re-adding it, rebooting my iPad etc. I've tried everything! And I still can't receive emails.
My drafts, sent emails and junk emails are all there but my inbox is empty and it's refusing to download the messages.
When I refresh it, "downloading 1 of 250" pops up for a second and then disappears and it just says it's updated yet nothing is there.
Please can someone help. This is incredibly annoying!!!
My mail provider is Yahoo and my wifi is working fine.

Hi - did you get any resolution to this? I have exactly the same issue.
You tagged onto an older post. If you want an answer to your specific question, you need to create a new post. By creating a new post, you will receive emails when helpers post responses.

  • BB Curve 8900 - randomly stops receiving emails and requires battery pull

I'm a newb to BB and this forum has helped a lot but my BB Curve 8900 randomly stops receiving emails about every 2 days and requires a battery pull to correct.
When it stops receiving emails and I go to the browser, it is also unable to connect. I basically lose all connection to data. I can receive calls and sms.
Turning unit off and on does not help.
I need to do a battery pull. Then starts working fine right away.
    I'm with Rogers in Canada
Is there a fix for this? Could I possibly have a bad phone? Battery pull once is a while is fine but to need to do that every 2 days is not.

Something similar happens to me.  I have to keep resending the service books and then it works fine, try this, at least it will stop you keep doing a hard reset.  I have read somewhere else that this can be influenced by having your phone to turn off at night etc.  So for now I have turned this feature off.  I can actually receive emails via wifi and the failure is only on GPRS.  It sounds a bit strange but I am also becoming convinced that it only occurs when I leave home, go somewhere else and then come back.
Read this below.  I did do all this but it hasnt worked for me, may help you though

  • 8520 has stopped receiving emails

I have spent hours on the phone to vodafone to no avail and hours on google - someone please help!!!. My blackberry curve 8520 stopped receiving emails 5 days ago. I have rebooted, deleted email address and set up again. sent service books, enabled SSL. I am using outlook 2010 and I think the problem could be associated. When I send the service book to my blackberry, I get the message that I must tick the option to leave messages on the serve. This is not an option as it is an IMAP account. Does anyone know what I am talking about and can help..................pleeeeeese!

"When you access an IMAP e-mail account, your messages are copied locally. However, the messages also remain on the e-mail server until you mark them for deletion and use the Purge Deleted Items command." - From Microsoft Support on Outlook 2010.
Just to be sure, in Outlook you can go to Tools > Account Settings. Select the e-mail in question and click "Change". You'll see an option at the bottom of the new window saying "More Options" choose that and then select the "Advanced Tab". At the bottom of that tab, there should be a checkbox to leave the messages on the server and 2 additional options you can configure to suit your needs.
If this doesn't work for you, please do reply back.
Disclaimer: I'm just a regular user like the rest of you. I have spent a lot of time learning the limitations of the Blackberries to know how to fix most problems. If I have suggested a fix, please give a kudo and mark as a solution!

  • Mail won't quite without "force quite" , Mail stops receiving emails after a while, not happy about MAIL's performance!!!! :(

I have massive problems with Mail.
I use mail at work and have 3 accounts running
    1. Mac. mail account
    2. Gmail mail account
    3. Exchange Server
I have quite a few folders in my accounts where I have to archive my emails to.
Often very often or lets say annoyingly too often mail stops working.
    - stops receiving emails
    - emails I have put away in folders disapear in my inbox again
    - if I try to quite Mail it won't I have to force it and then when I open it again all my emails I was working on open again even so I have sent them already. Also all the emails I have folded away are back in my inbox WHAT A WAIST OF TIME!!
I AM VERY UNHAPPY ABOUT MAILS PERFORMANCE AT THE MOMENT! IT SIMPLY DOESN'T WORK!
Does anyone have the same problems and more importantly does anyone has a solution to this problem other then switching to Outlook???
    Thank you!
    Oliver

I have the "stops receiving mail" problem with Exchange.  Sometimes I can open up the Activty window in Mail and stop  the stuck processes. Other times I have to close then reopen Mail.  I usually do the latter. A fix would be nice.
I wonder if your other problems are related to this. The actual process of relocating your messages is maybe queued up behind one of the stuck processes. Just guessing. I have not had that problem.

  • I stopped receiving emails.  How can I fix this?

I got a DO NOT REPLY message from VZW.Net stating "Your account "[email protected]" could not be authenicated.  If have recently changed your email password, please enter the most recent password in settings to continue receiving emails.  I DID NOT CHANGE MY EMAIL PASSWORD & I Stopped receiving emails on my phone even though I am receiving emails in my email account by way of another device.  I have pressed the SYNC & no emails are appearing.  Does anybody have any suggestions how to fix this issue.  This is on a Samsung Galaxy S3.

        @AL71996,
Never fear help is here! Let's get these emails coming through on your phone again so you can go back to enjoying your service.
@demmo86rt provide a great suggestion! Deleting the email account and adding it back helps get the email authenticated and working again. Please try this and retest. Keep me posted if your are still unable to receive your email.

  • Why has my iPad and iPhone email account stopped receiving emails?

    My email account has stopped receiving emails. I seem to be ok to send, and my wife's account appears to be ok. Could I have messed up when;
       - I deleted an old account I no longer wanted?
       - I ignored a message saying my account was full (but I deleted all old messages)?
       - I did something else I can't think of?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • IMAP account stopped receiving emails

I have 4 IMAP accounts from btinternet (yahoo) on mac mail and the default (and main) one has stopped receiving email since yesterday evening.  The wheel keeps on turning and no new message comes up. If I go on the web new messages are definitely there.
The other 3 accounts are absolutely fine.
I have tried the 'rebuild' option but it's greyed for that account - again the other accounts are fine!
I have done the obvious quitting mail and restarting the computer but no improvements.
Also copied yesterday morning's com.apple.mail.plist file from Time Capsule and replaced it in my user library but no results.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks

Out of sheer frustration, deleted the delinquant account and reset it.  This seems to have done the trick - even though all the settings are identical??!!!???
Actually you kind of did one of the steps offered in the advice letter. If something similar happens again you don't need to delete the account however overwriting the settings will do the same things. Sometimes a setting although it appears totally OK is corrupt somehow so if you simply re-input what is already there it resets each setting. Narrowing it down to which one is corrupt is almost impossible though so you have to be a bit systematic.
At any rate glad you got it working again.

  • TS4268 Can any one tell me how my husband and I can stop receiving text messages sent to him on my phone?

Can any one tell me how my husband and I can stop receiving text messages sent to him on my phone? His text messages to me are showing up under my number, like he is me?

Go to settings, messages, send and recieve, scroll to where it says start new conversation from, and make sure you each have a different email address checked instead of the same email address.
