Stopped Receiving Emails

Dear All:
I have recently bought Nokia E72 phone and setup emails using email.nokia.com web site.  Every thing was working fine, but then all my emails stopped comin in.  I may or may not have changed any setting while exploring this new set.  Then I tried to check my accout settings on the same above mentione web site, but the website does not let me log in and says some thing like that you can not login now, please try later.  I am receving this message for the last 4 days.  I also tried to delete my email accounts from my phone but the phone does not let me delete these accounts with a message "you must be connected to delete account.  My GPRS and WIFI are working perfectly.  When I check email from any account it keeps on asking for password again and again for the same account, but does not receive any emails.  Please let me know should I do, so that I can log in to the email.nokia.com site or else delete or fix my account settings so that I can receive emails on my phone as before.

Just the same thing has been happening to me since I bought the phone on Thursday and I've posted a few messages on here. I eventually found a thread on here, dating back to July, which indicates it's been a problem since then,
I foolishly spend hours calling the Nokia help centre and they weren't aware of the problem. During two separate calls I asked them to log into the web site using my user name. After ages they finally came back and said it was because I'd done too many attempts to log in, it was like spamming the system. They said it would be OK to log in 3 or 4 hours later. I tried it 4.5hrs later - no joy. Left it overnight - so 10hrs - still no joy. Left it all day - another 10hrs - still no joy.
Prior to this I'd had problems getting the emails to autosynch - and the Nokia callers themselves wanted me to go on the website, log in, and delete my account and re-set it. But neither me, nor they, have been able to do this. Now, despite re-setting my phone to factory settings, I can't get new emails to come in. They did give me a default password, but that just enables emails prior to the problem coming in.
They said they would ring me back on Monday. I'm not holding my breath for that. I'll wait until Monday lunchtime, then ring Vodafone (who sold me the phone) and ask for it to be replaced by a Blackberry. I've already called and warned them about this and they said that would be fine, but give Nokia chance to ring on Monday. I wouldn't mind, but the one app I want to work on this phone is emails. I'm really not bothered about the rest - but thought they seemed "nice to have" for the same price as a Blackberry.
I'll let you know how I get on, as no one else has responded to any of my messages on this forum (look for my name to see my other messages). Please keep me posted as well. Cheers.

    Several days ago, after receiving a 7MB attachment, I stopped receiving email on my Yahoo POP account. Browser access to the Yahoo server works fine. I obviously deleted that message and attachment but curiously, it and only it continued to be downloaded to my inbox!!! I tried downloading a new TB and installing it. Nothing changed except that specific email no longer appeared (another did though, see later). Settings are to leave msgs on server until I delete them. I transferred all my inbox to a local folder and then compacted mail and tried testing reception from another source and nothing appeared on TB, just on browser access. Oddly, one very old message repeatedly appears, I assume as a result of the auto check for new mail but not sure. Though I try to delete this old message, I can't. I haven't removed and recreated account yet because I don't want to lose all the filter history. Scanned for solution and can't find any. Any ideas, please?

    Starting your mac in safe mode will disable the Symantec stuff long enough to download mail. Should the issue arise again

    Since I updated my mountain lion, my mail stop receiving emails, I still got them on my iphone so i don;t know what's wrong with my mac. my chrome freezes and youtube videos start freezing as well.. there must be something wrong with the update!!

    I've been looking through the forum for hours and tried every variation of deleting the account, re-adding it, rebooting my iPad etc. I've tried everything! And I still can't receive emails.
    My drafts, sent emails and junk emails are all there but my inbox is empty and it's refusing to download the messages.
    When I refresh it, "downloading 1 of 250" pops up for a second and then disappears and it just says it's updated yet nothing is there.
    Please can someone help. This is incredibly annoying!!!
    My mail provider is Yahoo and my wifi is working fine.

    i have a strange issue with our exchange 2007 server, and i hope any one can help me, each day i have one of our exchange servers can't receive emails, and all emails sent to users in this servers are queued in the sending email server, and i have to manually

    As per the information and details provided by you, Exchange server 2007 stop receiving emails, then please follow these steps: -
    If you do have a 60 GB partition on the C: drive, one of the first signs of trouble is when the free space on C: drops below 2GB. Exchange 2007 stops receiving external
    emails. This is caused by a condition known as Back Pressure.
    Please check the following: -
    Check the nslook up for correct MX record.
    Run the exbpa and llok for any recent changes.
    Check for the device in perimeter network which accepts connections on port 25 FW or any other anti spam device).
    Try to run a telnet session from the firwall and then out side and drop email on the server.

  • BB Curve 8900 - randomly stops receiving emails and requires battery pull

    I'm a newb to BB and this forum has helped a lot but my BB Curve 8900 randomly stops receiving emails about every 2 days and requires a battery pull to correct.
    When it stops receiving emails and I go to the browser, it is also unable to connect. I basically lose all connection to data. I can receive calls and sms.
    Turning unit off and on does not help.
    I need to do a battery pull. Then starts working fine right away.
    I'm with Rogers in Canada
    Is there a fix for this? Could I possibly have a bad phone? Battery pull once is a while is fine but to need to do that every 2 days is not.

    Something similar happens to me.  I have to keep resending the service books and then it works fine, try this, at least it will stop you keep doing a hard reset.  I have read somewhere else that this can be influenced by having your phone to turn off at night etc.  So for now I have turned this feature off.  I can actually receive emails via wifi and the failure is only on GPRS.  It sounds a bit strange but I am also becoming convinced that it only occurs when I leave home, go somewhere else and then come back.

  • Stopped receiving emails in Outlook Express.

    Two days ago I suddenly stopped receiving emails in my Outlook Express.
    Outlook Express is configured to receive from my old Orange address which has never been a problem. Thinking it might be a problem with my Orange account, I checked with them and they assure me my account is still active. (I regularly log into my Orange account to keep it active.) Everything's been working fine for the past 2 years.
    None of my settings have been changed. Outgoing mail is mail.btinternet.com, and incoming mail is pop.orangehome.co.uk.
    I have just realised that around the time this happened I got an email in my Hotmail about changing from Hotmail to Outlook. When I opened this it said thank you for switching to Outlook, and then instead of being in Hotmail I was suddenly in Outlook! It didn't even ask me if I wanted to or not. But I noticed there was an option there to switch back to Hotmail which I did immediately.
    Of course, I don't know if it was that that stopped my Outlook Express from receiving mail. (I can still send mail from Outlook Express.) But it's the only thing I can think off and it does seem an odd coincidence.
    I've tried doing a System Restore back to the day before this happened, thinking there might have been a registry change or something which could be undone, but this didn't help.
    I'm now at my wit's end and panicking a bit. I'm a disabled pensioner, living alone, and rely on Outlook Express for all my financial and shopping stuff.
    Does anyone have any ideas where I might go from here?

    It was Orange's fault. They no longer require the @fs appendage at the end of the account name in Outlook Express account properties.
    Wish they'd told me.

  • Temporarily stopped receiving emails

    I was on leave recently. about 5 days after I left my Microsoft outlook 2007 stopped receiving emails. when I came back, I read and deleted some emails then sent a test email to myself which was delivered without problem.
    Before I left I tried to set up out of office reply but failed.  is it possible that I may have changed a setting somewhere that could have caused this?
    I am on Windows 7 with Office 7.

    Might be your Outlook setting has been changed and you are not able to receive emails. You should check it first. To Check your email configuration follow this:
    Tool >>Option>>Mail Setup>>Send Receive, Edit
    After clicking on the “Edit” button, a another pop-up window will appear and here you have to choose and enable the
    “Receive Mail Items” option.
    SMTP Server:
    1.) For Non-Encrypted and TLS: 587
    2.) For SSL: 465
    POP3 Server:
    1.) For Non-Encrypted:110
    2.) For SSL: 995

    I have spent hours on the phone to vodafone to no avail and hours on google - someone please help!!!. My blackberry curve 8520 stopped receiving emails 5 days ago. I have rebooted, deleted email address and set up again. sent service books, enabled SSL. I am using outlook 2010 and I think the problem could be associated. When I send the service book to my blackberry, I get the message that I must tick the option to leave messages on the serve. This is not an option as it is an IMAP account. Does anyone know what I am talking about and can help..................pleeeeeese!

    "When you access an IMAP e-mail account, your messages are copied locally. However, the messages also remain on the e-mail server until you mark them for deletion and use the Purge Deleted Items command." - From Microsoft Support on Outlook 2010.
    Just to be sure, in Outlook you can go to Tools > Account Settings. Select the e-mail in question and click "Change". You'll see an option at the bottom of the new window saying "More Options" choose that and then select the "Advanced Tab". At the bottom of that tab, there should be a checkbox to leave the messages on the server and 2 additional options you can configure to suit your needs. 
    If this doesn't work for you, please do reply back.
    Disclaimer: I'm just a regular user like the rest of you. I have spent a lot of time learning the limitations of the Blackberries to know how to fix most problems. If I have suggested a fix, please give a kudo and mark as a solution!

    My Verizon 8830 stopped receiving emails about 5 days ago. I can send emails and access the internet. I was 20 days into a 30 day trial of Antair Spam Blocker. It seemd to be working well in its limited form. So, yesterday after not receiving any mail for 5 days, I removed Aintair from the unit. & still no new emails arrived. This moring I resnt the service books to my phone which indicated that my Blackberry has been activated to receive emails. I sent two test emails that got to my desktop computer but didn't get to my Blackberry and not a single email since 10:30 AM this morning. It must be a software issue right? Anyone please help.

    Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    There is an ongoing major outage...formal information is available here:

    From my experience, this is affecting BIS, BES, and all services that depend on those (BBM, email, AppWorld, web browsing, application access to internet data, etc.). Troubleshooting specific problems during this outage may be pointless.
    Once the outage clears, if things are not yet flowing for you, please try these steps:
    1) Register HRT
    Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now
    2) Resend Service Books
    KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
    Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    Hopefully that will get things going again for you!
