Stopping a song to shut down the iPod

OK, so my daughter and I are new to this iPod thing as you'll soon see. We've figured out how to pause a song that is playing, but can't figure out how to stop a song. In order to turn the iPod off, we've been holding the pause button. Eventually the screen goes dark. But when we turn the iPod back on, it starts up where it left off -- with the paused song showing. This is only an issue, because we were wondering whether that causes a drain on the battery. Our iPod was dead as door nail this morning after one day of limited use.

That is correct also. Pressing and holding pause turns the iPod off. When you turn it on again, it resumes from where you left off, unless it's been unused for a period of 36 hours or more, when it reverts to the main menu.

I clicked on duplicate by mistake. When I clicked cancel, it is "stopping" for a long time? How do I get it to complete the "stopping" so I can shut down the iMac?

What do you mean shut down the phone? If its shut down as in turned off nothing will work unless you power it up.

Hi Min! I'm having exactly the same issue - have been putting up with it now for months but have finally had enough! Every single time i eject either my iphone, ipad or ipod nano, itunes freezes up, the computer becomes unresponsive. Usually i can use the mouse to highlight icons but the system doesn't respond, the keyboard doesn't work and I have to do a hard reset.

Yes phone will automatically backup to icloud when on wifi and phone is charge, but your phone storage was full so it stop backing up.

I have created a slide show with music but when i view it or attempt to burn to a CD or even copy to hard drive after about 15 sec the program stops working and it shuts down

Elements 10 was deactivated on desktop and installed on new laptop. Have on
y used it for photo editing until yesterday. Created a slide show with music but every time I try to burn to cd or move it to hard drive after about 15 sec, it says windows has encountered a problem with this program and must shut down.
I Also can't sign in to adobe with the program. It simply spins and I had to force close the program.
help!?

I am using photoshop Elements 10 under the create tab...slide show.
Used it on my desktop several times. Deactivated it and installed on new lap top about 5 months ago. Had not used it other than for photo editing until today.
I can also not login in thru the program. It simply spins and I finally had to force close the program

7.1.1 is certainly compatible with the iPhone 4. Just try a reset first.
Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)

- if when you connect the iPod to your computer you can make a backup? If yes yo can restore from that backup

2nd, you already mentioned Virtual XP, so if a direct install doesn't work, that would be the way to go... or, to just do what SHOULD work from the start, just do Virtual XP

but you don' really use java but Windows (only available for 2000 and XP)
