Stopping Automatic transition to new slide

Hello,
I'm sure this is right in front of my face somewhere, but I
cannot figure out how to stop captivate from automatically
proceeding to next slide. I've created a full motion video that
spans over two slides. After then end of slide one, it
automatically goes to slide two. I've inserted a transparent button
I want the user to click before proceeding to the slide two, and
gave it the action of "Go To Next Slide" when clicked. Doesn't work
though... Slide still automatically moves on without having to
click first. I didn't see anything under slide properties for this
either.
Any help will be appreciated.

Welcome to our community, Jason!
Normally you pause a slide by inserting either a Button or
Click Box object. These two objects pause the slide dead in its
tracks until the user clicks. However, whether the slide pauses or
not is your choice. You may turn it off if you need to. But by
default, they pause.

I have a flash file containing three scenes- Scene1, Scene2 and Scene3. In Frame1 I have a loading screen animated with motion tween. I also include a function, which automatically transfer me to Scene2 after 10 sec. However after I go to Scene2 the buttons to go to Scene3 are not working. I've tried to remove Frame1 and then the buttons that are linking Scene2 and Scene3 are working, Do you have an idea where the problem might come from? Here is my code:

if the code you showed fails (and it's executing), you have no scene named "Scene2".
btw, "Scene2" is not the same as "Scene 2" or "scene2 or "scene 2", which would all be common typos.

I believe that feature was added in order to reduce wasted costs to the Podcaster.
Podcasts incur costs - that have to be paid for, by someone. That cost will be the cost of hosting the Podcast on a server somewhere and more crucially (with regard to your point), the cost of the Podcast being downloaded to your computer. Every download costs the Podcaster money (typically, charged by bytes downloaded).
If that Podcaster pays for the whole thing personally, obviously they want to keep down any unnecessary cost to themselves. If the Podcaster is earning money for his or her Podcast (typically from advertising within the programme) then obviously, the advertiser only wants to pay for advertisements heard by listeners. So a download, not heard by the downloader, is waste of the Podcaster's money or no payment from the advertiser.
My own experience is that I only have to resume downloading once per programme. I'm usually several episodes behind on two different Podcasts that I follow, but I do not recall having to repeat the resume Podcast after that first time.

Automatically create new slide after pasting large block of text?

Hello,
Does anyone know if it is possible to have Keynote automatically create new slides if I paste text that doesn't fit into a single slide? The biggest time waster I've encountered is the apparent requirement to break up large chunks of text manually.
If Keynote does not do this, any ideas as to an Applescript or something that could help?

I usually try dragging from the bottom up in Web pages, it can be tricky getting at the part you want without the extraneous formatting, since that is concealed from you and web designers use many different methods for layout.
That's why pasting into a plain text document is a good idea to shake off the web formatting, otherwise you are groping around whatever Pages has interpreted the formatting to mean. Even browsers don't get this all right.
If the original was formatted as a table which won't fit one of the cells on a Pages page, it just pops and won't continue because Pages does not allow breaks in mid cell. If the cells are small enough to fit and you have pasted the table inline in the main text body of a WP file (between the margins) it will flow.

Ever since version. 7 iTunes has stopped syncing checked books without dragging them to my iPad. all settings are correct. I have set up 3 new devices and had to direct the new people to drag the books to their iPad. previous to ver. 7 this happened automaticlly just by syncling the device. This issue isn't just on my computer but at least three others. books purchased from apple sync just fine. If is drag the book from the library ad drop it on the device it syncs fine. What a pain if you have added several files now you either have to do the drag drop process for each one as you add it or try and remember which files you added the find them and do the process.

This may be due to iTunes 11 being set to manually manage content on devices by default.
By default, iTunes 11 and later is set to manually manage your content on your device. Manually managing your device allows you to choose the content you want to have with you.

Automatically copy format to new slide

HI all,
I'm new with Keynote and I'm sure there is an easy answer to this, but I certainly can't seem to find it. I'm putting together a boring, bulleted presentation and have adjusted the master slide to the format I want. Changed font, size, bullet indentation, etc. However when I add a new slide, none of the format from the prior slide is copied to the new slide, it reverts to the original master slide format.
Is there any way to not have to redo the formating for each slide? I tried to save as a Theme, but that didn't seem to work.

Adding a Timer (Automatic Transition)

Hello I'm new to this forum so I hope someone may be able to help me. I'm trying to add an automatic transition to this Image Gallery that uses and XML data file. I have everything the way I like it, but now I need to have the images and the dynamic text field to rotate like a slide show. I'm really struggling with this so any help would be greately appreciated.

Here are some instructions for an example where a door moves down and up to reveal different contents:
1. On Page1 draw a red circle and a green circle
2. Group the circles (I found a bug, this is a work around, so I will explain later)
3. Hide the green circle by toggling the eyeball in the Layers panel
4. Click "Duplicate state". You are now in Page2
5. In Page2, hide the red circle by toggling the eyeball in the Layers panel
6. On Page2 draw a brown square (the door). Make sure the door is big enough to cover both circles
7. Position the door up high above the stage
8. Go to Page1 and toggle the eyeball for the door to make it visible in Page1 as well
You have have two pages. The door is visible and in the same place in both pages. The door is also up above the stage. One circle is visible in page2 and another circle is visible in Page2
9. Select the Page1 > Page2 transition in the Timeline panel
10. Select the door on the stage and click Add Action > Move in the timeline. Do this again so you have two Move bars in the timeline for the door
11. Position the Move bars so one occurs after the other
12. Notice there is a Fade bar for each of the circles since they are fading in/fading out. Drag these bars so that they fade right at the junction between the two move effects
13. Now we need to define how the door moves. Select the first Move bar and change the X, Y values in the properties editor to be x=0, y=600
14. Select the second Move bar and change the values to be x=0, y= -600
15. Create a button that navigates to Page2 when clicked

Note: the bug I found was this. If I did not group the circles then during the animation one of the circles would appear above the door. I logged this bug and it should be fixed in the next beta. I found grouping the circles avoided the problem

The issue is that sometimes the cycle goes upto creation of Invoice automatically but sometimes this does not happen. More over the user wants that the transafer order needs to be confirmed manually.

While video taping, the camera says videoing stopped automatically.

I purchased my canon rebel t2i at Staples, along with a 16GB card with a 10 in the top rt corner. When recording with my camera, it will often say videoing has stopped automatically. I also cleared everything off the card . I had it checked today by an employee, but was not sure why that message displays. He suggested to shut it off and start it up again as it maybe a glitch. I love this camera, but I need to know why the camera is doing this. Very frustrating when i am trying to get those special moments with our grandaughter, as they are only here for a short time. I am very new to this higher classed camera.

One more thing - sometimes with Canons simply deleting everything doesn't actually clear the space on the card. You might want to try formatting it as well.

OpsMgr Config Service stops automatically

There's a fresh installation of SCOM 2007 SP1, SQL database is configured on a separate server. The installation itself goes smoothly without any errors. After installation to RTS OpsMgr Config Service stops automatically, after restart it works for about a minute, then stops again. All the other OpsMgr services work correctly. OpsMgr Config Service and OpsMgr SDK Service are run from the same domain account with Domain Admin rights. OpsMgr Health Service is run from Local System account. Here's what I see in the logs:

T4i Rebel error message "movie recording has stopped automatically"

I was recording my client when suddenly I got a this error message "movie recording has stopped automatically" and I could not record video anymore. I am recording on a class 10 sandisk Ultra card. 720/60, EFS18-135mm lens. Never had any problems in the past. First I get a small veterical meter on the frame and then after 5 secs the recording stops with this error message. Please tell me it is opeartor error...I have had this camera for 2 years now and never had a problem. I tried multiple cards.

Either you or the person you spoke to at Canon was confused.
What the camera requires for video purposes is a card which is "at least" Class 6 or faster. The class designation is an indicator of the cards data transfer speed. Class 6 actually means the card is capable of transfering data (either reading or writing) at "at least" 6 megabytes per second. A Class 10 card can transfer data at "at least" 10 megabytes per second.
The T4i is also compatible with "UHS-1" cards... which are significantly faster than eithe Class 6 or 10.
The reason for requiring "at least" Class 6 has to do with how fast the camera is attempting to capture and save frames of video to the card. The camera actually has an internal memory buffer which is very fast. When you start recording, the data is being saved to that buffer... and simultaneously the camera also starts taking the data from the buffer and saving it to the memory card (which is slower). If the camera is recording video only slightly faster than the card can record, then it will actually take a few minutes before the buffer is completely filled. But at that point the camera has no choice but to stop recording because it has absolutely no place to save data ... the internal buffer is full and it can't empty the buffer because the memory card can't save data as fast as new frames of video are coming in.
Faster is always better.
Memory cards do actually wear out and develop errors over time. This is normal. A good card will re-map the bad blocks so they aren't used anymore... and this is why you should do a low-level format IN CAMERA (not using the computer). Good cards also have a "memory leveling" technology to try to use all the blocks roughly an equal number amount. This extends the userful life of the card.
When replacing the card, do not skimp on quality! I cannot emphasize that point enough. Most times when someone brings up this issue... it's the card that is having problems and not the camera.
It's easy to produce forgery cards which look like a good brand but are not. Buy GOOD cards from REPUTABLE dealers. Do not shop for the cheapest website on the Internet with a questionable reputation in order to save a couple of bucks.
Lexar brand and SanDisk brand are good.
When buying memory cards, I only buy cards from Lexar and SanDisk. I also buy their highest end cards (by speed performance... not necessarily their biggest capactiy cards). I buy the cards from dealers with a solid reputation. This avoids the unpleasant error messages which always seem to happen at the worst possible time.

After you have done either of the previous options to get the transition on the current slides, you can add the transition to the Master Slide so all your new slides will default to the same transition.

Keynote '09: 2 transition effects per slide initiated by 2 hyperlinks?

I want to do a flip book. So far it looks great.
I'm using forward and back hyperlinks to transition b/w slides.
Problem: I can only get one style of transition effects/slide, so when I flip back to a previous slide the flip animation looks like I'm flipping forward.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Which had this part buried in it:
Remove the navigation (rip out the hyperlinks), set the presentation to run as a Normal Presentation, then Share>QuickTime>Fixed Timing. That's right, I said Fixed Timing. Turns out me and a lot of other people (and yes, some tier 1 support folk at Apple) misunderstood Fixed Timing. Fixed Timing lets a Normal presentation run with the audio and moves on to the next slide when the audio is finished - which is exactly what I wanted (the QuickTime controls automatically appear after the movie is rendered). Slide Duration is actually the delay between slides so set this to 1 second and Build Duration affects the timing of the Builds, but I also set this to 1 second since it was destined for web delivery (bandwidth!).
I struck thru the first part b/c that wasn't relevant to my issue, BUT... what WAS relevant was removing all of my carefully timed slide delay transitions, then using the above method. It worked flawlessly, as far as I can tell. It seems without documentation or help of any kind (that I could find) no one, even Apple support staff, knows what the true function of Fixed Timing is supposed to be. So hopefully, if someone else stumbles across this post, they'll be able to do the right thing, from the start and not waste hours with expensive or additional programs and work arounds.

Debugging mode stopped automatically when using xml file load

I am trying to develop a new add-on using xml files for creating new forms. In fact I was using the sample code delivered with the SDK ( WorkingWithXml - under VB.NET). The Problem is that when I am in the debuging mode and after the form load. the application goes out of the debugging mode and stop action.
In fact what i was trying to do first is to create a new menu and then when i click on this menu a new form appear but once the menu is loaded the application stop the debugging mode automatically.
Can somebody clarify to me what I am doing wrong and why the debugging mode is stopped automatically, noting that i am still in the add-on developpement phase.
As i mentioned above i used the WorkingWithXml sample code (VB.NET) and i have adjusted in a way to load menu and then on the menu click i load my form.

Hi Mary,
Put your code between in a Try Catch block. In the Catch part use the following:
oApplication.MessageBox("CompError: " & oCompany.GetLastErrorCode.ToString & ", " & oCompany.GetLastErrorDescription & vbCrLf & "Message: " & ex.Message)
This should give you a clearer idea of what the error is all about.
The most likely reason is that there is something wrong with your XML file.
