Stopping Facebook notifications to email

Hi,
Every time I use Facebook to comment or update my status, it notifies me in my email inbox in my menu. Its not as if they're going to my inbox at hotmail, they're just showing up in my email on my Blackberry asa notification. Just wondering if anyone knew how to get these to stop.

  • Facebook Notifications and email notifications on ...

    Hi
Is that possible Facebook Notifications and email notifications on sleeping screen nokia 808 like it had on N9..
On my 808 it shows only msgs and miscalls....any fix??
    Thanks

not possible unless the app supports that behaviour. but email notifications and on notification lights has been broken on Symbian for a while, and as Symbian is in maintenance mode, is unlikely to see a fix, possibly ever.

  • Facebook notification and emails

i just recieved the motorola droid 2 today. i previously had the motorola droid. since i have gotten the phone i have not recieved any email notifications for comments and or facebook notifications on the phone for any comments. anyone have any suggestions?

Did you add your Facebook account to the Droid?
I also might add that, if you add your Facebook account to your Droid, it will populate your phonebook with your Facebook friends... NOT COOL!  But maybe you will like that.
The best way, IMO, is to NOT add your Facebook account, but instead, go to Market and do a search for a app called AndroidBook.  It's a great app for Facebook!

  • Facebook notifications in email on handheld PROBLEM

    Hi all,
Been searching here and cannot find the answer...I apologize if I missed something, but been going back and forth through the forums and online...
Updated the Facebook app to latest version (1.8....) when I updated other apps/OS on my phone (8900, OS 4.6.1).  Prior to that I think I had downgraded to 1.5 (or 1.6) to be able to upload photos consistently (didn't work with any "newer" version, so went backwards).  With that version running...lacked features, but ran fine and photos were uploaded every time (FB started compressing them again, which is why I opted to try the update to 1.8)...my notifications were working properly
gmail account on BB (only email associated with handheld) has FB emails set to skip inbox, mark as read etc. when you view on the web.  Notifications came through FB app on BB (red star and alert) just fine, AND were "hidden" in BB messages folder. You could navigate to them, but didn't clutter the inbox.
I am VERY confused about the settings on this 1.8 version.  Right now I get notifications on the app (red star, can read through app), BUT they also stay in my gmail inbox on the handheld which obviously takes up a LOT of space and don't want to have to constantly delete them.  I do NOT get notified of a new email or anything, but want these hidden as they were in previous version.
I WANT the emails to go to my gmail account they way they had been, I just do not want them to show up on my BB in the gmail inbox.  Tried settings in options menu and doing via FB on the web, but can't find the right combination.  Only see people with opposite problem of NOT getting notifications through FB app on BB, and I don't want to mess anything up.
Can someone please help and explain what may fix this to go back to hiding the EMAIL version of the notification JUST on the handheld without disabling notifications through the app or with my web email??
    Thank you!

So, just because you didn't do that before means it's not a solution now?
Facebook app no longer uses the emails for notifications as it used to.  It uses a push api that sends the notifications from facebook directly to the app from Facebook without the use of email.
If you still want the emails from Facebook but don't want them coming to the BB then you need to set a filter on your email setup on the BB so that Facebook emails that arrive in your mailbox do not get forwarded to the handheld.  It's a simple setup if you just took a moment to try it.

  • Facebook notifications while using seperate email folders?

I don't use the primary message folder because I like my emails seperate. When I get a Facebook notification via email, it would typically be intercepted by the FB app and would go to the location on the FB app (Like messages or notifications). This doesn't happen anymore when I hid the primary message folder and only used the individual email folders. Is there any way to fix this? It annoys the fact that I can't just quickly click on the folder and see what's up. Now I have to go to the Facebook app itself and look there.
    Thanks!

Hello rishabharora and welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
To clarify, you are receiving emails from Facebook® stating they are a network notification? Would it be possible to have a screen shot of this email?
If the emails are not from Facebook, who is sending email?
Do you use the Facebook® for BlackBerry® smartphones application?
    Thanks!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Let's start with the emails. What method did you configure for email? BIS, BES, Desktop Redirector?

  • Not recieving emails or facebook notifications

I havent recieved an email or a facebook notification in days. Anyone know what to do about it?
    Jacky

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
    Best!

  • Blackberry 8520 keeps repeatedly downloading the same email messages and facebook notifications

My Blackberry 8520 has all of a sudden started downloading the same email addresses and facebook notifications, that I have already read, I tried deleting them totally and also deleted from my computer inbox, but it just downloaded the next lot in my inbox repeatedly instead.  Sometimes it says I have 50 unread messages, which is the same 7 or 8 messages over and over again, showing as unread.
I have rebooted device several times and don't know what else to do now, can anyone help please?
    Thanks very much

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Have you changed the settings for messages on your account on the providers website?
    (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.)
If that's not it try the following:
Go to options advanced options, Host Routing Tables, click to enter. DO NOT click on any listing.
Press menu key, and select register now.
You will get a verification message. Then go to email settings and send service books.
I would suggest  logging into the carriers BIS site via PC if you can.
You will get an email per account. Repeat the battery pull and see if the problem is
    resolved.
Let us know how it goes!
    Thanks,

  • Facebook Notifications Stopped Working on iPad 3

The push notifications stopped working on my iPad 3 since yesterday. Anyone knows anything about it? All my settings is just the same as they were before. I didn't changed anything. I reinstalled the app several times, rebooted my device, i did EVERYTHING i could, but just the facebook notifications isn't working anymore.

You aren't the only one. I now have NO sound at all in FB with YouTube or even just uploaded videos. Surely we won't have to wait for an date!

  • Can I hide the Facebook notification emails?

It's my understanding that the Blackberry Facebook application will not simply push the notifications through like every other phone manufacturer.  Instead, it uses the email notification from facebook to my email account for updates.  The thing that is really annoying about this is that every day I have to delete hundreds of emails from facebook that clutter up my inbox just so I an get updates on my phone.
Is there ANY way to hide these emails so I don't have to deal with them?  It seems like there has got to be another way to do this.  The iPhone and Android don't use email for facebook notifications.  What's the deal?
    Thanks
    Garrett.

Open your Facebok application > Menu > Options > UNcheck Blackberry Message application.
    And SAVE.
No more Facebook notifications/emails cluttering up your messages.

  • How to stop ical from sending email notifications for updates on my share ical calendar

Is it possible stop ical from sending email notifications for updates I make on my share ical calendar?
    Mac OSX 10.7.2
Very annoying for the person I am sharing my calendar with to get an email every time I change something.
I hope there is a way to stop the emails, but for the updates to still go on their calendar.
    Thanks

Great idea Lofty! thanks. If the person you are sharing a calendar with is a Yahoo Mail user, you only need to set up one filter (under Options - Mail Options - Filters) and route to Spam folder or a special folder for that purpose.
Add a filter with the following parameters:
Sender contains:    "Your First and Last Name" as it appears in the emails they are receiving
    Subject contains:  "Your First Name"
    Email body contains: "iCloud"
Don't need to match case on anything.
So far, only these unwanted emails are being routed to the folder I chose.
Hope that helps until Apple gets it's act together

  • Facebook Notifications stopped

    Hi All,
I have a Nokia Lumia 800 on Vodafone UK  running 7.10.8773.89.
I don't know when it happened, but I have stopped receiving messages from Facebook (these used to come through 'Messaging' (i.e. SMS, MMS etc), but I am getting nothing through now - even if I am sent a direct message through FB.
I have the FB app installed on the phone, I am connected through FB in the Accounts section, and I have status set to 'Available'. Can anyone suggest anything?
    Many thanks,
    Neil

    Hi neilpfister,
When in messaging hub's online section, can you see other people online? You can also try to set chat status offline and then back available, this usually logs you back.  If not, try to remove your facebook account from email+accounts and add it again.
In some cases there may be disruptions in the Facebook chat service, causing this kind of issues (often you also get an error code/message). Also, log on to your Facebook account on the computer and see if you have many invites etc. left in your account and anwer them to see if it helps.
Let us know how you get on,
    Puigchild
