Stopping InDesign from saving a Adobe Digpup Folio File in my Users on my C: Drive

Hi There
Can anyone explain why my Adobe InDesign saves a "copy" of the Folio InDesign file i'm working at here:
C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\StageManager.BD092818F67280F4B42B04877600987F0111B594. 1\Local Store\dmp\Inspired By You - High End_2014_2_5_16_51_13?
I'm workin as normal, adding Articles to my Folio but for some reason it saves a Adobe Digpup Folio File in that Location? How can I stop it?
If I quit InDesign I can delete the file but If I start adding more Articles to my Folio it addes a copy file to that location.
Thanks
Kenni

Are there difference in windows and Mac the way they do it? Because I have been doing the Folio's on my Mac and I don't think I have seen anything like this. Don't recall it saving files on my Mac.
I'm on Windows 7 btw. My problem is that i'm working in a quite big company, and have restrections IT wise. I have a profile storage limit on my account and the location the Folio's are save in counts as that profile storage. So I would need to buiid my files and every time go into and delete them afterwards, once it's build and in Content Viewer?

  • Can someone tell me how to stop itunes from saving my media to two files?

I know the answer is simple...but I can't seem to find it in plain english!
So i bought a new used computer (lol) and took all my backed up music from my external drive and dumped it right into my computer. Put the whole MUSIC file into finder, under the "Music" section...then when that was done I dragged it into iTunes.
Well lo and behold my 500G hard drive is almost full! AGH! So i tediously went through files on my itunes, deleting all I could. Everytime it asked me if I wanted to move the files to the trash and I said YES!
Ok...so after hours of that, i look in my Music file in Finder (which now has a new folder from my external called MUSIC) and lo and behold...every file i deleted is still there!
So, I'm no dummy. I guess iTunes makes a new folder of iTunes media, something like that? Doubling everything?
I will gladly delete everything and start over if I must, but can someone please tell me how I can put music files on my computer without them doubling, or how to delete them and have them actually delete?  Settings?!
    help! Thank you!

Adding music to iTunes will copy it into the iTunes mdia folder.
Put it into /Music/iTunes/iTunes media/Automatically add to iTunes older.
This will move (not copy) the media.
You can delete the files you originally copied into the Music folder.

  • How to stop Indesign from reverting to picas

No matter how many times I set up a workspace (which sometimes it erases) I can not stop Indesign from defaulting to picas. It is the most annoying and ridiculously simple thing that having a workspace should solve. Yes, my workspace was set up correctly. This is a problem that goes way back to like CS3.
How do I get it to stop. Ultimately, I don't want to even have the option for picas.

Thanks! I just changed that. Now I will see how long it holds because over the course of time my workspaces disappeared, as well as my preference settings. I catch it mostly with typographer's quote marks. They convert to inch marks and then I have to start all over.
Thanks so much, I will add another reply if it holds up.

  • Stopping "Preview" from saving every document.

How can I stop Preview from saving every pdf file I open? I can't find anything in the prefs that allow me to simply "read" docs without saving them. Thanks.

I normally use Firefox but tried Safari based on your recommendation. If I hit "open document in new window" it does not download, so the problem is solved if I use Safari. That fix does NOT work with Firefox. No matter what viewing choice I make the document is saved to the desktop. Can't find a Firefox preference that addresses this.
You can change where it goes, though. +Firefox > Preferences > General > Downloads.+

  • How do I get Firefox from "saving" to Downloads EVERY PDF file I open ??

    Greetings,
New to Firefox. Running Mac Leopard and needed Firefox because a business website running a business replay podcast did not recognize Safari.
So far so good. I actually prefer Firefox to Safari now.
One little thing. Every time I browse the web and open a PDF file it "automatically" sends it to my download file and I therefore have the file "saved" . WELL, I don't necessarily want to save to my download file every PDF file that I open. I just want to open a PDF file, do a quick read and move on to more browsing. How do I stop Firefox from saving to my downloads every PDF file that I open? Is there some kind of setting I can adjust?
    Thanks.

You da man...I've never done an "Ad-On". I downloaded the recommended "Ad-On" as you suggested. The program fixed my issue...NOW, I can simply open a PDF file without it automatically going to my downloads.
    THANKS
If you ever need to download a list of things, firefox can select a vertical column using the Cmd key, unlike Safari.
I have DownLoadThemAll installed and I can select a vertical group of files, right-click them and using DLTA, I can DL them to any location. With Safari, I would have to do this one-at-a-time.
Just another reason I like FF for many purposes.

  • How to stop LR from saving images I edit in PS???

    Hello,
How to I stop LR from adding images that I have edited in PS from LR.  I dont want LR to track every file I send to PS to be edit.
    Thanks for the advice.

You can use the 'Save As' option in PS, and save as a different name to that auto-generated filename. This will break the link with Lightroom.

  • I am using 10.7.4.  How can I stop Preview from saving versions.

In Lion, 10.7.4 Prieview was changed to use Versions.  This means the previous options of SaveAs is no longer available.
I want to be able to open a file in Preview and SaveAs (now Export) my changes, without having Preview then save those changes in the original file when I close the window.  I know that I can use Revert to get back to the original, but is is time consuming and annoying to have to do so.  How can I stop Lion from using versions??

  • How do I stop OSX from creating ._ thumbnails of network files

Our macs are networked to Windows servers that hold a large amount of image files. These are updated on a continual basis unfortunately the files can't be saved directly to the server but copied blindly into the folder from our macs. The ._ invisible files on the mac appear in windows, not really a big deal (although I would rather they didn't exist a all) The big problem comes when the folders on the server are opened on the mac, it takes forever for the mac to create the little alias or thumbnail files for each image. How do I stop OSX from doing this.

You can stop "some" of those pesky ._invible files with this...

  • Stop LR from automatically creating TIFF or PSD files when opening in PS.

Every time I open a RAW file into Photoshop CS5  from LR3, it automatically creates and saves a PSD or TIFF file. Is there a way to stop lightroom from doing this? When I used LR2, I saved these files only if I choose to. I always convert my files to jpg after I'm done editing in PS and don't need these huge files hanging around.

    Kara_Rue wrote:
The jpgs contain my photoshop edits so that is why I save them. As far as I know, the lightroom data will be retained but any additional photoshop editing will need to be saved in some format. I'm a professional photographer so I like to have the JPGS easily available for when people order prints.
I suppose that is just a difference in our personal workflows. Since JPEG files are compressed with lossy compression, many people prefer to keep the TIF or the PSD that Photoshop creates. That file contains all of the Photoshop changes as well as the original Lightroom adjustments. And there is no quality loss in those files. Then JPEG images are created as needed for printing or sharing on the web. And once that purpose has been met, the JPEG files are deleted. But your workflow seems to be different, and one that you are comfortable with. Sorry for harping like I did. I didn't even think about your need to upgrade ACR. Just be aware that if you decide to upgrade it will be necessary to upgrade both programs in order to keep everything in sync.

  • How do I stop InDesign from trying to create a network connection?

I have a huge problem, either with InDesign or Apple I am not sure.
Basically when I bring my computer home from work every time I open InDesing it tries to connect to a server and I get this error message: the server XXX.local may not exist or is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again.
Why is InDesign trying connect to a server? Photoshop and Illustrator work perfectly well and function as a normal program. Indesign has no reason to do this as it should need to work through a server.
I get this error message and once I have dismissed it, it comes back after a few seconds and then stalls my computer again.
I really hope that someone can give me some idea of what is happening because the support in my country have not been at all helpful. I am asking this same question on the Adobe forums.

I get no messages from ID for InDesign or anything else and I am running CS5. I can't install Little Snitch because it is a work computer and my IT won't let me me do it. They have mentioned reinstalling it but our IT department haven't said anything more than that and frankly I don't think they would register as an issue that needs fixing as such.
The drive it is looking for is the timecapsule.local which I have turned off and on again and nothing has helped.

CS5. I have been working with this program for over 10 years and I have never seen this before. I only have this problem at home and not at working. The drive it is trying to access is the timecapsule.local. As I said it is only with InDesign and all the other bundle programs are fine. It is not a pay per month and is a legitimately licensed business subscription.

  • How do I stop InDesign from crashing every time I open a certain file?

I tried to move a 2 page spread to the beginning of a 52 page layout and InDesign crashed. I tried recovery and it would crash each time seconds after opening. I tried closing every thing, hard boot, then opening from the file. It opened fine then in 2 seconds it crashed. I tried a different file and there was not a problem. How do I keep it from crashing my 52 page file?

The file could be corrupted. Do you have a backup?

Is there any way to alter the code of SGD to stop all browsers from being able to remember/save the username/password that gets entered on the standard login screen at /sgd/index.jsp?langSelected=en ?

Not sure if it works in all browsers, but adding autocomplete="off" to the FORM tag in login.jsp tells the browser that the application would prefer caching disabled.

  • How do I stop buttons from Highlighting in Adobe Encore?

I'm making a DVD menu for a college project in Adobe Encore.
When my mouse moves over a button when previewing the menu, it becomes highlighted with some disgusting orange colour.
I would like it to simply be blank when the mouse moves over the button.
To put things into some clarity, the DVD menu is designed as an Elevator Panel, and you are able to press the buttons like you would in an ordinary elevator.
Here is a screenshot of my problem:

TLDR: I want to get rid of the orange highlighted thing around the Button. How do I do it? (see picture)

I cannot get your image to download.
I assume you have two highlights, one that is the orange and another one. Otherwise,  you'll see nothing?
If two, one is probably =1 and the other =2. Just delete the layers with the one you don't want.
