Stopping individual services and references in composites

Hi All,
We know that we can shutdown and start up composites.Is there any way by which we people can start or stop the individual services and references in the composite.Like if there is file and db adapter in a composite and i want to stop just the file adapter.Can this be achieved in 11g.

How to stop sql services and sql agent services on multiple servers

Looking for a t-sql/powershell script to stop/start sql services on multiple servers. Plan is to execute script from centralized server.

Security Update for exchange server 2013SP1 KB3011140 Stops all services and failes to install

Hi All,
Over the past 2 days this update has tried to run on the server in the evening but ends up failing. When it fails it is causing all of our exchange services to stop working and when we try to check e-mails the following day we find out the e-mail service
has been offline since the update.
Is there anything specific we need to do before running this update?

Windows Update. If it fails, we can also download and install the updates manually. The following stand-alone file is available for download from the Microsoft Download Center:
Download the security update for Exchange 2013 Service Pack 1 package now.
Download the security update for Exchange 2013 Cumulative Update 6 package now.

Starting and Stopping ALM Services in linux

How to stop and Start ALM Services linux.
I have installed new ALM application in my linux as root user. Now i am trying to stop the service using command HPALM. When i check the status it show not running and i can see script located in app/wapper and deployment/wrapper.
So please help how to stop the service and is there any env i have to set.

SQL Command to Start/Stop SQL services for multiple server

From Central server I want to Start/Stop SQL services and SQL Agent service. Is there any SQL command which I can execute on query analyzer which can Start/Stop SQL services?

I have been a long time faithful customer of vzw and although the past year I have been late on payments many times and really couldn’t afford your exorbitant prices for services lots of other companies offer sometimes three times cheaper than what you charge, I have hung in there trying my best to meet my obligations.
This month has been no exception. You don’t know the background; the whole story of people’s lives. I know you could care less because all you care about is the profit-the money that comes in.
I was told when I agreed to pay my bill on the third per the recorded message that I had 14 days to pay…you cut me off anyway. The phones are not the tissue; your suspending my service means I cannot work. I may lose my job…how do you justify that? In any case? The least you could do would be to keep 4986 on and cut the phones off. But no. You refuse to compromise and meet the basic needs of your customer. What does that say about your company? I tried to call back on three separate occasions to tell you I couldn’t pay because of unexpected expenses but couldn’t get out of the automated system…sadly couldn’t get to a real person which also speaks volumes to me.
All this tells me this is a company I don’t wish to be affiliated with any more. As soon as I can, I will discontinue service with you…I know you could care less. I will honor the remaining portion of the contract but that’s it. You don’t deserve my business. I am a good, hardworking person who, at the sacrifice of myself and my needs, always pays her bills…albeit late at times. I realize others tell you stories and lies to justify themselves. Problem here is you admit you cannot afford the service.
And you want to blame Verizon for losing a job because you have no cell phone.
If your job depends on that phone I would pay it on time every time if you need a job to pay your bill.
No other service is going to treat you any different. And if you cannot afford Verizon's monthly invoice how are you going to afford new devices, activation fees, possible security deposits on any other cellular carrier? You can't.
Also if you made an arraignment to pay and then decide you cannot do so, why should Verizon extend you service or credit, or why is it you want to use the service and data and not pay for it as agreed.
Get a prepay phone. Its evident the cost is too high for you to afford on post pay.

HT4796 When I run migration assistant on my PC, I get a message saying windows mail is running and won't let me proceed. Windows Mail is not running. I checked Task Manager's applications, services and processes and found no references to Window's Mail.

Got a new iMac 27" for Christmas (well a little after) and tried using Migration Assistant to transfer some files. I can't get past a window on the PC that pops up indicating Quit Other Programs Before you can transfer your information, the following programs must be shutdown: Windows Mail Close these programs and run Migration Assistant again. If these programs do not appear to be running, restart your computer and try again.
I've rebooted. I've searched Task Manager - Applications, Processes and Services and there are no references to WMail. I don't or haven't knowingly used Windows Mail and Outlook isn't even installed on my PC. Does anybody know how to get around this without using external drives, USB flashdrives, etc.

Lots of fun.... The superdrive in my Macbook seems to have gone off kilter since my install. Now the CD-R won't work regardless of which operating system I use. Normal CD's and DVD's are fine, but any CD-R is taken as a blank disk.
Using an external CD drive solved this problem.

How to start and stop oracel services mannully

I want to start oracle services (Database(SID) and listner) manually when i want to use database, by default i services are not started (as i set in service properties).
I want to start them from some desktop shortcut to avoid going to control panel cuz i dont have rights to use control panel in my domain user.

Please make .bat or .cmd files and those shot-cut.
Example of script in bat file (to use net command).
:dbstart.bat
net start OracleServiceE1020
:dbstop.bat
net stop OracleServiceE1020
Here OracleServiceE1020 is service name displayed Control Panel->Service->Propety->General->ServiceName. You could get it by 'net start' command with non argument, also.
C:\>net start
These Windows services are started:

The command completed successfully.
Another example (to use oradim)

Presentation service and BI server stopped with the following error.
“The description for Event ID ( 21 ) in Source ( Oracle BI Server ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: [47055] 30000 is too large for MAX_GLOBAL_CACHE_ENTRIES, and it is reset to default value, 10000..

Need to stop the pop and Imap receive connectors to be able to start the pop and Imap services in Service Manager

Hello All,
I am hoping that someone else has run across this issue (may have started after CU5 was installed).
Upon every reboot I have found that the "Microsoft Exchange IMAP4" and "Microsoft Exchange POP3" services in the service manager will not start... basic reason in the event viewer is that the ports are already in use.
If I go into the ECP and disable my POP and Imap receive connectors I am able to then start the services.
After the services are started I can then go back to ECP and enable the receive connectors again and everything is fine .
Can anyone shed any light on this?

I bounced the Transport service tonight (adjusting spam filter levels)... so I was able to issue a stop and re-start of the IMAP4 and POP3 services in the service manager.
I stopped both the IMAP4 and POP3 services in service manager.
I issued the start of the services with PowerShell as requested:

With the receive connector disabled in ECP it was successfully started.... then I enabled the receive connector in ECP and all is fine now
repeated the same with IMAP4
to recap....
If I stop the IMAP4 and/or POP3 service in service manager, I must first disable the IMAP and/or POP receive connector in the ECP, then start the service in service manage.. and then finally go into ECP and enable the receive connector.

Why icloud doesn't ask your id and password to stop the service??

I don't understand why any people who take the iphone can stop the service "find my iphone" without Id and password. If someone steal ur iphone and stop the service u cannot find ur iphone so I think it would be better to ask for apple id to be able to stop it. In that case, just u can start and stop the service

The trick is to go into settings>General>Restrictions. There you can set a passcode and limit turning off Find My iPhone. Be sure to turn on Restrictions, enter a passcode, then go into Location, scroll to the bottom to find "Find My iPhone".
